Jimmy “Scruff Face” Janos found that attacking Chris Kyle when he’s dead is less painful than when he’s alive. He was on Alan Colmes’ show the other day and took to comparing Kyle, and the American people, to Nazis according to the Daily News;

Appearing on Fox’s “Alan Colmes Radio” show Tuesday night, Ventura kept up his attack, saying Kyle was “obviously a great sniper” but the asked “Do you think the Nazis have heroes?”

Colmes responded “Well, obviously the Nazis were fighting for a cause we can’t condone.”

Ventura disagreed. “Wait, wait, wait. When they invaded a country, when they invaded Poland, when they invaded France … if a Nazi soldier killed a hundred people that had lived there, would he be classified a hero in Germany?”

“Well, what I’m stating is, we invaded Iraq, we were not asked in. We invaded a country, we overthrew its government, and then we killed people that lived there.”

Colmes: “Are we analogous to the Nazis?

Ventura: “Well, and the Communists, yeah.”

I’m sure that the Nazis had sports and entertainment figures that they admired, too, so what is Janos’ point exactly?

I guess Brian Williams has been telling a story for years about the time his helicopter was shot down in Iraq. According to Stars & Stripes, he told that little tale one too many times last Friday;

Williams repeated the claim Friday during NBC’s coverage of a public tribute at a New York Rangers hockey game for a retired soldier that had provided ground security for the grounded helicopters, a game to which Williams accompanied him. In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he said he had misremembered the events and was sorry.

The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire. Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.

“I would not have chosen to make this mistake,” Williams said. “I don’t know what screwed up in my mind that caused me to conflate one aircraft with another.”

Yeah, one aircraft was shot down and the one he was riding in wasn’t. I don’t know how he could have “conflated” the two events either. I’m pretty sure that the one helicopter crash I was in would always stand out in my mind – not that I’ve ever been in a crash. However I remember a number of rough landings – like that short runway landing in a Caribou that one time. I still get a taste of my anus when I think of it.

Clearly the report at the time was about how the helicopter that Williams was riding in was shot down, so, there’s nothing to “conflate”. That was the report. So it was pretty much BS from the very beginning, it didn’t have anything to do with a failing memory.

[Williams] added, “Because I have no desire to fictionalize my experience (we all saw it happened the first time) and no need to dramatize events as they actually happened, I think the constant viewing of the video showing us inspecting the impact area — and the fog of memory over 12 years — made me conflate the two, and I apologize.”

He continued, “Nobody’s trying to steal anyone’s valor. Quite the contrary: I was and remain a civilian journalist covering the stories of those who volunteered for duty.”

Yeah, well, the broadcast went out as Williams getting shot down, and they arrived an hour after the RPG round passed through another bird. So all of that “conflation” happened in the minutes after the news crew arrived on the scene of a downed craft.

Several of you have contacted us about this woman whose pen name is “Prissy Holly” but whose real name is Captain Lyndsay Faith Lowery. She’s actually a Signal Corps officer in the 75th Training Command in Colorado. But, in her nightime job she’s “Prissy Holly” at Mad World News. She wrote this missive a few days ago;

Folks got upset when she said that she had commanded infantry troops and they assumed that she was lying. You can see at Guardian of Valor how these amateur valor hunters went into pretzel twists to make their case, even though Bulldog and I tried to warn them that there was nothing to prove that she was lying.

I’ll admit that I was the first to check her out on AKO, it’s usually the first place I go to verify people who claim they’re in the Army, but unless the soldier fills out the portion of their profile about deployments, it won’t appear there. The absence of information is proof of nothing.

The way I approach these stolen valor cases is that I assume they’re telling the truth until I find something that proves them wrong and I couldn’t find anything substantial in this case, so I passed on it.

Bulldog got her DD214 and she did deploy to Iraq and she did do what she said she did;

But, some people couldn’t let it go, and it looks like the “POG Boot F***s” Facebook page that led the charge against her is gone now. There can be no half-measures in the hunt for valor thieves. We take extra steps when they’re still in the service, like Captain Lowery, here.

We pride ourselves on being truthful here. We’ve messed up a few times and we admitted to it. Unfortunately, the people who we expose as liars are less truthful. They think that they can destroy our reputations, cost us our jobs and families with their lies and their threats. I don’t have to threaten anyone. I’m secure enough in the truth that I don’t have to threaten people.

But, you know, when you tell a lie and you get away with it, the follow-up lies are easier to slip from your mouths. For example, there’s this at the website of Daniel Bernath;

John Lilyea, Randy Ryder and other highly trained military veterans are discussing the making of IEDs for use against civilians and police. I enclose a copy of their writings from today May 21, 2014. Jonn Lilyea has a restraining Order against him because of the threat of him committing violence imminently. Both the Maryland Court and also Oregon Court has so rule. The Maryland judge also declared him a perjurer. Lilyea is a highly trained and very bitter veteran. I enclose his writings from the last time he was “detained” by the West Virginia State Police and disarmed of his rifles and concealable pistols:

I wouldn’t say that I’m “highly trained”, but I am indeed bitter. Bitter that the court system hasn’t shut down this half-wit. I’ve never been declared to be a “perjurer” by any judge either in Maryland or Oregon or any of the other states in this country. You can read the transcripts of the hearings yourselves.

I have no restraining order against me and the people who have filed those against me are alive and well to this day by some miracle. The local police know that I’m no threat to them – I’ve always cooperated with them even when they were wrong. Bernath is right, though, when he says that I’m liable to kill – anyone who threatens me, my family, or my property has no chance of continued survival. They’re wise to keep their distance from my home. They’re wise to stay in the states where they live where they can lie, threaten and slander to their hearts’ content.

Paul Wickre began his whole episode with us nearly two years ago by pretending to be law enforcement and calling my wife to threaten her life and liberty. He didn’t stop there; he went on to call my daughter and threaten her as well. Now he’s upset because the Washington Post and Politico started investigating his wife when she was breaking federal laws by influence peddling for his business. Well, my wife’s only crime was loving me. Not a crime I understand, but one I appreciate.

Paul Wickre terrorized me and my family as a hitman for hire by Phil Monkress who put an actual price tag on his phony SEAL claims. The price was $12,000/month – the money that he paid Paul Wickre to terrorize us into pulling the blog down. An unsuccessful endeavor, obviously. The death threats continue as recently as last night;

This is all in response to an email I sent this past week asking them to begin to act their age – another unsuccessful endeavor, apparently. Just like terrorists, they took that email as sign of weakness and decided that they’d crank up the volume. My mistake – I thought they’d want to find a way out of the morass that they, themselves, had created. But, them being terrorists, liars and criminals, they’re coming out of the woodwork. Dallas has joined in the hunt for A Proud Infidel. They’ve posted a bounty on API, HackStone and ChipNASA – ten thousand bucks each. Now they think that our pal, Mykel Hawke is API. Apparently, everyone with brown hair is A Proud Infidel.

For the record, I don’t even know who they are, so the odds that one of the other 1/2 million visitors we get every month know them are mighty slim.

I’m disappointed, to say the least, that the justice system allows these imbeciles to run loose, to terrorize people who operate a legitimate business endorsed by the United States Supreme Court. Paul Wickre has forced his way into other people’s homes and physically assaulted the man’s wife when he wasn’t home, according to people we’ve interviewed. He got a six-month peace order slapped on him as a result. But, now he can threaten to rape TSO’s wife in front of him and he gets nothing.

Of course, no one believes Wickre anymore – he’s a coward who launches his attacks from the safety of Montgomery County where the cops and prosecutors quake at the mention of his name. If Paul Wickre was coming to get me, he would have done it already, and it wouldn’t have turned out like he expects. Hiring a hitman would end up better for him, but less so for the hitman. He likes to say that I won’t see “it” coming, but he doesn’t know me well enough to say something like that.

Wickre, whose name I’m not supposed to mention on this blog under threat of death, won’t venture out in snow anyway – he’s one of those Bethesda pussies who buy up all of the toilet paper in the county and then hide in their house until the snow melts completely.

The same goes for Wittgenfeld. He’s been “cometh” for more than three years, and yet…nuthin’. Not hide nor…well…hide.

And to Frank Visconi, who tried unsuccessfully to spam our Facebook page – do you really want to throw your lot in with these crooks and liars? Think about it, Frank.

Do you remember Scott Beauchamps? I do. He was a mealy-mouthed little private who made up stories about his fellow soldiers back seven or eight years ago in the early days of this blog. The stories he created went across the country’s media. Mostly because they were total bullshit.

Not only were the stories bullshit, they were demeaning to the troops. Stories about them clowning around with pieces of human skulls on their heads, luring dogs in close to their vehicles so they could crush the beasts. Picking on a disfigured female contractor. It turns out that he’d written these stories before he even left Kuwait for Iraq. The New Republic pulled the stories down.

Now, for some stupid reason, the Washington Post thinks he’s rehabilitated enough to publish his opinion piece on whether or not the Pentagon should abolish the service academies. Whether he is for or against that process, I’d still be writing this. Not only is he a proven liar, he was a private soldier who doesn’t even understand the word “leader”, let alone the commissioning process.

No evidence shows that officers who attended civilian colleges, or any one of the U.S. Senior Military Colleges such as the Citadel, are lesser leaders than their service-academy colleagues. Tom Ricks, a Pulitzer Prize-winning defense journalist, put it succinctly: “After covering the U.S. military for nearly two decades, I’ve concluded that graduates of the service academies don’t stand out compared to other officers.” After all, perhaps the most preeminent Army leader in recent times, Colin Powell, is a product of the ROTC, not West Point.

Oh, good a private who quotes another fellow who has never served on matters that will never affect either of them.

As an enlisted Army infantryman, I served under platoon leaders who attended both West Point and ROTC. All were competent and professional. But the best graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. What made him singular was his bravery and his resourcefulness. He was willing, in small ways, to deviate from standard operating procedure when the situation called for it. He also connected to the enlisted guys in an extraordinary way.

Yeah, well the worst company commander I ever had was a graduate of the University of California, Scott. He was so bad that we (the platoon leaders and platoon sergeants) had a plan for taking the company away from him if he started getting people killed in combat. Luckily, that never came to pass because COB6, one of the platoon leaders, refused an order to drive his platoon into the friendly tank fire that had just knocked out an entire platoon of a sister company. So, obviously, Scott, m’boy, there are exceptions to every rule. Beauchamp goes on to quote Gore Vidal and Davy Crockett to support his argument against the service academies.

All I need to consider is the past 240 years of military history and ask “Why are we in such a hurry to change things have proven so successful for so long?” And, oh, “Who the hell are you anyway?” Given his history in the world of journalism, he clearly doesn’t have the best interests of the soldiers or our national defense in his heart when he writes, so why is anyone giving him a podium?

In a County of Washington, Oregon courtroom on May 29, 2014 we went to court on the specious claim that Daniel Bernath thought that I was knocking on his door and running away (in my wheelchair), so he tried to levy a restraining order upon me to protect himself. I appeared in the court telephonically from my easy chair, while Bernath went through his legal calisthenics.

WSFB tells the story of Mary Claire Caine who came out of a Harris Teeter store and found a nasty note taped to her car which she had parked in a designated veteran parking spot;

It read, “Maybe [you] can’t read the sign you parked in front of. This space is reserved for those who fought for America….not you. Thanks, Wounded Vet.”

Caine’s heart sank.

“The first thing I felt was confusion that there was a mistake, and that I had to talk to this person and ask them why they were so quick to assume I wasn’t a veteran and that I was taking privileges that didn’t belong to me,” said Caine about the hurt she felt as she peeled the note off the window, tempted to crumple it up and throw it in the trash.

“For a split second I thought, ‘Am I a worthy enough veteran to park in this spot?’ And, then I got very angry at myself for even considering that,” Caine recalled.

I spent time on Facebook yesterday apologizing for my people on the posts about this story. But, you know, there’s so much wrong with this story, I feel a need to shoot off my big mouth. Firstly, to the fellow who left the note; That scolding shit doesn’t work outside of Facebook. Who the Hell are you? The veterans’ parking police? Next time, grab your huevos and ask someone to their face if they’re a veteran instead of sneaking around posting notes. I’ll bet you’re the same guy who comments on my Facebook posts after looking at the picture and not reading what I actually wrote.

To Ms. Caine; So? It was a note crafted by an imbecile, don’t try to make all of us male veterans look like misogynist cretins. I know there are women who are veterans, I know a few. So crumple the note up and throw it away. If I saw a woman parking in a veteran spot, I’d naturally assume that she’s a veteran – the same way I’d feel seeing someone parked in a handicapped spot.

Thanks Harris Teeter for recognizing veterans and our service. I remember the post-Vietnam days when veterans had to hunker down so that no one knew they were veterans, so even though I think that veterans parking spaces is a foolish idea, I appreciate the spirit in which it was given.
