  • Child shoots Mom at Walmart

    There was a sad story yesterday about a woman shopping in Walmart in Idaho with her kids and she had a weapon concealed in her purse. One of her kids, a two-year-old, snagged the gun while the purse was next to him in the cart and killed her with it. Of course, we can “woulda” & “shoulda” but that won’t bring the woman back to life. But, if you’re going to carry a weapon, it should be on your body, and certainly not within arm reach of a child.

    A very sad story. Almost as sad was this comment on the article;

    When you decide to carry a gun no matter how responsible you are, you put everyone you come near in danger. I have the right to live my life not in danger. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is in the main body of the constitution. So important they didn’t need to amend the constitution. That right is guaranteed to all. And it supercedes the 2nd amendment cuz your rights do not have the right to infringe on my rights. When you carry a gun, you violate my rights. You have the right to own a gun, we have cops to protect people we don’t need nor can we afford a bunch of people running around endangering the lives of innocent civilians. The rights of the many out weigh the few.

    So, how many things can you find wrong with that comment?

    “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” is from the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. So, there’s not a “right” that you should be happy.

    No rights supersede other rights. Even if they did, the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to protect us from the government, not from each other – so I can’t “violate your rights” no matter what I do to you.

    That last line is absolutely stupid. There’s that thing called “equal protection”, there is not a “many” or “few” provision. By the way, the reason it is so hard to amend the Constitution is to protect the rights of the few from the whims of the many.

    The fellow who wrote that comment needs to go back to East Valley High School and Spokane Community College and get a refund because of their failure to educate him to competency.

    Thanks to ROS for the link.

    Pineywoods NCO; Junk Mail would make us all billionaires

    We have a guest post from PineywoodsNCO who is apparently fed up with his spam. This comes with a spew alert;

    In this modern age of technology and all kinds of modern gadgets out there like laptop computers, smartphones, tablets and such, there is such an incredible world to explore. So much to know, to learn, to be delighted by and so forth. And with it, new ways to reach out to everyone, such as text messages, e-mails, Twitter, Instagram and so forth. I have a smartphone, and a laptop, and a tablet. I have five different email accounts, one for school (I went back to college after leaving the military, one for my professional communication, one for games, one each for a specific pair of activities I love to do (geocaching, cribbage).

    But with the advances in technology, one thing remains constant, the con man or con woman. Looking for new ways to steal from hard-working honest people like you and me (but not our stolen valor turds), they reach out to the Internet and start sending us letters, telling us about their need to have you become a beneficiary for them or how they would like to share in a fortune that could be earned for you…

    If you promise to keep quiet…

    If you send them some money…

    If you send them some personal information…

    Well, you get where I am going here.

    Recently, my professional email account has been bombarded at least three to four times a day with offers such as this. Like the “newest fat burner from Dr. Oz” or “Jewish singles are looking for…” or anything from a specific email address (patwalker523@gmail.com, how is it that this email is related to thousands of causes worldwide, none of which is worth a nickel), these emails hit my spam or junk email box in record time. But it still intrigues me that I get three or four a day of these offers that will make me a millionaire in no time, provided I do one of the those things above…

    And it pisses me off too.

    Here’s a few samples of what bullshit (that Daniel Bernath, Frank Visconi, Paul Wickre, or Dennis Chevalier would love to get their hands on) I am getting. Mind you, these are actual emails I have received in the past two days:

    OR EVEN THIS:

    I am David Ellis Head of Inspection Unit United Nations Inspection Agency in Harts field-Jackson International Airport Atlanta, Georgia. During our investigation, I discovered An abandoned shipment through a Diplomat from United Kingdom which was transferred from JF Kennedy Airport.

    To our facility here in Atlanta, and when scanned it revealed an undisclosed sum of money in 2 Metal Trunk Boxes weighing approximately 110kg each.The consignment was abandoned because the Content was not properly declared by the consignee as money rather it was declared as personal Effect/classified document to either avoid diversion by the Shipping Agent or confiscation by the relevant authorities. The diplomat’s inability to pay for Non Inspection fees among other things are the reason why the consignment is delayed and abandoned.

    By my assessment, each of the boxes contains about $4M or more.They are still left in the airport storage facility till today. The Consignments like I said are two metal trunk boxes weighing about 110kg each (Internal dimension: W61 x H156 x D73 (cm) effective Capacity: 680 L) Approximately. The details of the consignment including your name and email on the official document from United Nations’ office in London where the shipment was tagged as personal effects/classified document is still available with us.

    Like I did say again, the shipper abandoned it and ran away most importantly because he gave a false declaration, he could not pay for the yellow tag, he could not secure a valid non inspection document(s), etc. I am ready to assist you in any way I can for you to get back this packages provided you will also give me something out of it (financial gratification). You can either come in person, or you engage the services of a secure shipping/delivery Company/agent tha

    As it stands now, you have to reconfirm your Full name, Phone Number, full address so I can cross-check and see if it corresponds with the one on the official documents. It is now left to you to decide if you still need the consignment or allow us repatriate it back to UK (place of origin) as we were instructed.

    t will provide the necessary security That is required to deliver the package to your doorstep or the destination of your choice. I need all the guarantee that I can get from you before i can get involved in this project. You can also contact (mrdavidellis291@gmail.com).

    Best Regards,
    Mr David Ellis
    INSPECTION OFFICER

    Holey Chit!! If I reply to any of these, I am an instant millionaire. BUT WAIT, if I reply to all of them, I will become a billionaire. Never have to work again, never have to worry about making the next car payment, hell, I could even get two brand new cars each for me and the wife, with all the bells and whistles, and even one for my father, while moving into a new house for each of us, go on vacations all the time, take my time and get my degrees that I want to earn at school (in case you are wondering, I am working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management, and have applied to go graduate school to get a Professional MBA and then a Master’s of Strategic Leadership)…it’s the end of my worries and the fulfillment of all my dreams….

    And it’s all bullshit too (not my dreams, but these offers I have listed above and many others like them).
    We all have heard of the many scams out there, send a little personal information, send a little cash, or email them back, and we’re in like Dennis Chevalier munching on cheese. But like Daniel Bernath and Frank Visconi, they are a bunch of Paul Wickres, lying sacks of turds.

    But, I am throwing away millions of dollars….man….this is tough…right??

    Allow me to dissect some of these bullshit emails. These are all true about most of these wastes of cyberspace.

    1) Hits the junk / spam folder faster than Dennis Chevalier goes through cheese.

    2) Claims to be offering millions of dollars…really, how do you know that those consignment boxes have millions of dollars in them when all bills weigh the same as a piece of paper in the same size, stupid?

    3) If they are from a professional organization, then why in the Bernath-like hell are they coming from Yahoo email or Gmail email addresses? Speaking of your organization, never heard of it. Tell me more about it.

    4) Never the same email from who it was sent by to who to contact? Oh wait, they are the same person, aren’t they? It’s so confusing who to contact. Dallas Wittenfield must be involved, you know he is good at being so secretive and confusing. Too much window licking, Dallas?

    5) Rarely, do you ever see an email from someone claiming to be in the United States but the email address says they are in Portugal, Russia, Japan, Spain or India. It’s like getting a letter from Frank Visconi, Attorney at Law or like how Daniel Bernath is in Switzerland and claims to be a former coach of the Romanian soccer team (as shown on his Facebook page)

    6) Terrible spelling and grammar. My cousin’s three-month daughter can write better than this. “Over a decades ago…” (so, how long was that??) Anyone of our favorite non-CPO, non-C130 flying, non-functioning brainless turds could be writing these emails.

    7) What the hell is a stroke sickness? And really, did your husband die after a short illness of a few days and you are waiting how long again, years, to contact me? WHY ME??

    8) How in the hell do you know what’s in the box without opening the box? And why would the UN have an inspection team in Atlanta? And what would your superiors think of you taking a kickback? Really, Mr. Ellis, you are a special breed of stupid. Oh yeah, pay for a yellow tag? I can get a yellow tag for a quarter, with string.

    9) Asking for personal information. Really? If you needed personal information, how in the hell did you contact me in the first place? You want to know more about me or a copy of my identification. Ya, right. Not happening, dumbasses. You need me to send money? How about a penny for your stupidity.

    10) Contact them at this number. Never mind it is an international call to some hellhole in Africa that is full of crap.

    11) Privacy, secrecy…shhh shhh. You know like that bush, rustle rustle. Sure, all right. Let’s share your bullshit with the entire world, shall we?

    Frankly, we all know they’re not worth the time to read them. I read them to laugh at them trying, but I am also kind of saddened that there is someone who will actually fall or has fallen for these emails. But they need to learn they are in a different breed of stupid then our turds. Hell, I am throwing away opportunities to increase my personal wealth beyond my means.

    Damn.

    So I do these idiots a couple of favors.

    One, I attempt to gather as much information as I can about them. You see, I was a proud member of the Signal Regiment during my time in the Army. I learned how to look into an email for telltale clues, such as an IP address, which I use to track down where they based out of, and maybe even more information about them, such as an address, phone number, building, etc. I have alerted authorities on it when I can, giving them as much info as I have or can obtain. Helped reduce the stupid where and when I can.

    The second favor is I forward their communication attempts to two email addresses. One of them is a sixth email address I specifically have to respond to their requests, of which I know is a complete fakery like theirs and I respond kindly to their requests by telling them to punch their tickets alongside Daniel Bernath, Dennis Chevalier, Frank Visconi and ride the Paul Wickre Express straight to hell (I am sure Dante, Osama and all the other not-so-good boneheads would like a break from standing on their heads in the ten foot deep shit pit before Chelsea Manning comes down there with his buddy Nidal). The other email I forward the worthless correspondence is spam@uce.gov. This email is to a group devoted to rooting out the cybercrimes that are out there. You will likely never receive a response but by sending them, but feel good knowing you are helping end the Bernath wannabes out there from helping out themselves.

    But as such, I am throwing millions and millions of dollars that I could make. No biggie, I didn’t work for it…and I would rather work and earn every damn penny I have in life. That makes it worth far more to me. My father taught me it was more special when you have worked for it. Three of my former company commanders in the Army affirmed this along with many of my leaders. And it’s nice to help those in need as these fools and their emails get what piece of karma they deserve. Wonder what looks better on them, stripes or orange?

    Jamie Read and James Hughes; sandbagging the jihadi hunt

    MOS collect photos from Graham Penrose re: Brits fighting against ISIS, Jamie Read and James Hughes l-r: James Hughes and Jamie Read

    It was pretty big news a few months ago when Jamie Read and James Hughes, a couple of Brits who told the world that they were going to Syria to avenge the death of UK citizen and aid worker Alan Henning. But the Daily Mail says that, despite their exciting tales of firefights while they accompanied peshmerga fighters, the duo spent much of their time slacking off.

    Read, 24, and Hughes, 26, were reported to have travelled to the Middle East last month to join Westerners fighting with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) – the mortal enemy of IS – to protect the beleaguered city of Kobane. In reality, they were more than 250 miles away, deep in Kurdish-controlled territory in North-East Syria on the border with Iraq.

    And far from diving for cover under fire, according to a former German soldier who was alongside them, they spent most of their time in boredom, drinking tea, watching TV and feasting on local cuisine.

    […]

    The two former soldiers insist they were in Syria to take up arms with the Kurds and that they came under enemy fire, but our investigation demonstrates that their dramatic claims don’t quite add up…

    The Daily Mail article shows pictures of them in their “safe house” which was actually a 4-star hotel;

    Mr Markens added: ‘They didn’t come to fight. They said it to me. James told me: “I don’t want to risk my ass, bro.”

    ‘We drank chai, watched TV, talked to each other, cleaned our weapons.’

    When asked whether the patrol base was safe, the other ex-soldier said: ‘I would say that’s relatively safe. In levels of safety, nowhere near Kobane. We were at summer camp [laughs].’

    A whole new term is born; Stolen Valor tourism. It’s easier to get away with than anything that might involve military records that can be FOIA’d.

  • Gerardo Hernandez and his expectant wife

    Gerardo Hernandez and his expectant wife

    gerardohernandez

    So there was this Cuban spy fellow, Gerardo Hernandez, who was serving two life sentences for conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit espionage as a member of the Cuban Five. The Cuban government admitted that they were spies. Hernandez had served only ten years of those two life sentences when he was released last week by the Obama Administration. So, he gets home and his wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant with his child.

    It turns out that the only Senator from Vermont to the right of Bernie Sanders, Leaky Leahy (Patrick J. Leahy) worked out a way for Hernandez’ wife to be artificiallyinseminated – not once but twice (the first one failed. From the LA Times;

    [Adriana] Perez [Hernandez’ wife] apparently thought her biological clock was ticking away. During a trip Leahy and his wife, Marcelle, made to Cuba in February 2013, Perez made her plea.

    “She made a personal appeal to Marcelle,” Leahy said Monday in a statement released by his office. “She was afraid that she would not have the chance to have a child.”

    Leahy added that his wife, as a nurse, “had particular knowledge” of the medical necessities faced by Perez and how to proceed.

    “It was the humane thing to do, and we would have done the same for anyone,” Leahy said.

    So, we’ve contributed to the birth of yet another slave for the Castros. Think it will get us some karma plus points in the community of nations?

  • No more Corpsmen with Marines?

    Some Marine Corps Times Facebook page reports that Secretary of the Navy Ray Maybus announced on Friday some restructuring of USMC military occupational specialties to include a series of medical training that would eliminate Navy personnel as Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen.

    The announcement has met some criticism from many Marines and Navy Corpsmen. Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) Ryan Henryson, attached to 1st Marine Division, says that “Our docs are part of our culture. To try and get rid of them essentially is a disastrous change to the tradition of the Corps and the Navy as a whole. I can’t believe that anyone thinks that this is a good idea.” The Corpsmen had their say in the matter too, as Hospital Corpsman Second Class (HM2) Jessica Odhner claims, “Corpsmen have always been essential to mission accomplishment for Marines. We’ve always been by their sides for decades and there’s no reason to fix something that’s not broken.”

    Yeah, well, that story is utter bullshit. It’s showed up quite a few times in my email and on Facebook, but that’s not the Military Times’ USMC publication. It says that “Marine Corps Times is your dependa’s voice for Marine Corps news.” The next story is about former Commandant of the Marine Corps James Amos being charged with sexual harassment. I’ll admit that it sounds like something Maybus would do, but he hasn’t done it yet.

  • Al Sharpton’s death threats

    Al Sharpton’s death threats

    Civil rights activist Reverend Al Sharpton plays a voicemail he says he received following the fatal shooting of two police officers, in Brooklyn

    The New York Post reports that after the murder of two cops in New York City, he started getting death threats on his phone, he played a recording for the media;

    “Hey n—-r, stop killing innocent people, I’m going to get you!” according to the barely audible recording.

    The voice mail also included three f-bombs that went over live television in New York.

    Yeah, I spent about an hour trying to find Sharpton’s phone number, and it’s been told that I’m pretty good at that internet stuff, but I still don’t have it. I asked folks on Facebook for them to turn over his number to me, and no one could. So how did some clearly developmentally challenged racist get Al’s phone number in order to call him and cuss at him for a few minutes?

    We’ve heard some of our phonies and their families when they claimed they were getting death threats from us. To what end would we threaten someone who is pretending to be something they’re not? No one here would ever do that, but they do it to garner sympathy after their bad behavior – Sharpton did it for the same reasons to take the focus off of the murdered police officers and make people feel sorry for him.

    Al Sharpton is a lying crap weasel and he’s lying about this, too.

  • Robert Korzick; Stolen Gold Star Valor (Updated)

    Robert Korzick; Stolen Gold Star Valor (Updated)

    AverageNCO sends us a link to this story from Wallingford, Connecticut in regards to a fellow who claimed to be a Gold Star father and a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War when he called into the regionally popular radio show, the Chaz & AJ Show. He told the tearful story of losing his son in combat in Afghanistan on December 15th.

    Korzick, who identified himself as a disabled Vietnam War veteran of the Marine Corps, said he had learned the night before that his son, also named Robert Korzick, was killed in action in Afghanistan on Dec. 15. He said his son’s unit came under attack by the Taliban. He said six other soldiers were injured and his son, a lance corporal, tried to rescue them when he was shot several times and killed. He said his son was supposed to come home Dec. 22 for the holidays. He expressed guilt that he had encouraged his son to join the Marines and was consoled on air by the hosts who told him he is not to blame, that his son died a hero.

    Of course, he went on to tell how his son was receiving the Navy Cross and the Medal of Honor for his actions that day – first trigger; no one would know whether their family member was being awarded the Navy Cross or the Medal of Honor the day after they were reported killed. It doesn’t work like that.

    Anyway, the Marine Corps says that they’ve never heard of the man or his son and there were no Marine Corps casualties in Afghanistan on December 15th;

    Marine Corps representative Capt. Dustin Pratico said there are no records of anyone named Robert Korzick having served. “That person does not exist in the Marine Corps,” Pratico said.

    He also said there were no Marines killed in combat on Dec. 15.

    There’s no entry for anyone with the last name of Korzick having served in the Marines from World War II to present day, according to Yvonne Carlock, deputy public affairs officer for the Marine Corps’ Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department.

    They spent an hour on the phone with the guy, and apparently, on a Facebook group for the community is discussing how to open their hearts to the family. But, you know stealing valor, even like this, has no victims. This is why we can’t have nice things.

    UPDATE: This looks like it’s him from his mugshot. It says that he’s a two weeks older than me, and I was too young for Vietnam;

    Robert Korzick

    It looks like he’s been playing the PTSD and Vietnam vet scam for several years.

    From White Pages, he lived in the Tampa area before he moved to Connecticut;

  • Tyler Gaffney; another “PTS caused my bad behavior” guy

    Paul sends us a story from Washington State where Tyler Gaffney has been arrested for behaving badly. He tried to hold off police with an Airsoft rifle after he beat his father and threatened to use bombs on the police. Lucky for him, the police used non-lethal force to subdue him, I guess they recognized the realistic toy as such.

    Gaffney later told detectives that he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder because of his combat experiences. He claimed that “he was a member of a super-secret Special Forces team,” who served in clandestine combat missions and had been awarded medals for his bravery.

    The detectives, who both served in the military, reported that many of Gaffney’s combat stories followed the plots of popular war movies. Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Paul Stern raised concerns about “stolen valor.”

    So Superior Court Judge Michael Downes has been trying to sort out whether this guy is a legit case of PTS or not, and the VA isn’t being helpful, strangely enough;

    At that hearing Gaffney provided a letter from his counselor at the Everett Vet Center. The counselor confirmed that Gaffney was being treated for PTSD. The counselor said he didn’t have access to Gaffney’s personnel records from the Army. He had a file listing his time in the service and job category only.

    “I am aware as his treatment provider of your concerns that he is misrepresenting his military history. Please know that I am addressing that possibility while engaging in the mental health treatment of Mr. Gaffney,” the counselor wrote.

    […]

    Downes was told Wednesday that the Department of Veteran Affairs refused a subpoena prosecutors sent last month to compel Gaffney’s therapist to testify. “I would have thought the military would have been more upset about false valor than us,” Stern said. “The VA doesn’t seem to care.”

    The detectives doubt his documentation, since they found exact phony certificates on line for $19.95.

    Last month, a Snohomish County sheriff’s detective called the certificate into question. Sheriff’s detective Dave Bilyeu wrote in an affidavit that he believes the certificate is “a phony, purchased document.” The certificate, he wrote, was similar to other false-appearing documents found at Gaffney’s home during the standoff last year.

    Bilyeu, a former U.S. Marine, discovered that similar documents are available for purchase online for $19.95 plus shipping costs.“The first certificate on this website I viewed was identical to the document Gaffney submitted on May 21, 2014,” Bilyeu wrote.

    We already know that the VA doesn’t care much about stolen valor – they prefer to give care to people who didn’t earn it. They won’t scrub phony POWs from their roles and phonies jump ahead of deserving veterans. I’d get the prosecutor a FOIA on the dude, but he can only use evidence that he gets on his own, so he should just follow Hondo’s easy-to-follow instructions at our “Military Records” page and not depend on Mr. Gaffney to prove his stolen valor.

    Here’s a hint for LEOs; if your suspect begins each sentence with PTSD and talks about super-secret units, he’s a phony. Those of us with PTS don’t use it as an excuse for bad behavior, and if we served in a super-secret unit, we won’t be talking about it in public to you – that’s why the unit is a secret.
