    I think this is mostly wishful thinking on his part, though.

    Needless to say, I’ve behaved myself and Wickre is pissing in the wind. TSO has a similar restraining order, so we have a road trip to DC on Friday. I’ll be singing all the way there and all the back.

    Fort Hood pimp sentenced

    gregory.mcqueen

    We talked about SFC Gregory McQueen when he was arrested for attempting to pimp out female soldiers back in May. He was one of those sexual harassment counselors gone bad. Davy sends us the news that he’s been sentenced;

    Sgt. 1st Class Gregory McQueen, the one-time coordinator of a sexual assault prevention program at Fort Hood, was sentenced to 24 months confinement Thursday after pleading guilty Wednesday to 15 of 21 specifications of charges stemming from the investigation of a prostitution ring for which cash-strapped female soldiers were recruited.

    He will also be demoted to the rank of E-1, will be given a dishonorable discharge and will forfeit pay and benefits.

    After a hearing Thursday, a court-martial judge found McQueen guilty of the 15 specifications as well as a 16th charge of assault consummated by battery, but then merged four specifications, which meant that McQueen faced a maximum sentence of 33 years.

    Of course, McQueen is sorry that he got caught and he apologized according to the article. And he found religion while he was awaiting trail. The prosecution was looking for a five-year sentence, but the judge sentenced him to 24 months instead. There is some of the testimony against McQueen at the link. He should have got 5 years.

  • Mark Kaufman; phony story backfires

    Mark Kaufman; phony story backfires

    Mark Kaufman

    Steve sends us a link to the story about Mark Kaufman, a veteran who apparently suffers from MS and he needed a new service dog as the one he had was 13 years old. So he starts telling people how he was a combat veteran;

    He is hoping to prove that his illnesses are linked to the time he spent in the first Gulf War. He also served in combat zones in the Falklands and Grenada.

    Kauffman left the Army five months and eight days before his 20th anniversary, he will tell you, and he blames that on the Clinton administration’s downsizing. While he served the remainder of his time with an Army Reserve unit, that move left him unable to collect his pension until he is 62.

    Kauffman, 50, said doctors have told him he won’t live that long.

    That has left him feeling 100 percent behind the military but, he said, “bitter at those idiots in Washington.”

    Yeah, all of you Falklands veterans raise your hands. Well, the author of the first article did some digging;

    This week, I was able to view Kauffman’s Veterans Administration records, as well as a couple of yearbooks he produced. What I saw was a man who was in the Army Reserve in early 1982, then went on Army active duty, eventually leaving with the rank E4. He served in the Army Reserve until October 2003, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.

    The records said he was a decorated sharpshooter and had earned a good conduct medal and an overseas service medal.

    I saw orders he received while stationed in Germany, sending him to participate in exercises in Norway and Turkey. I saw his certificate of achievement from the 7th Engineer Brigade for service in Heidelberg.

    So, when folks found out he was lying, they shut down the donation site for him and returned all of the money, about 8 grand, to the donors. Ya know what? If he’d been truthful about his service in the beginning, people probably would have given that money anyway – there’s just that much goodwill about veterans. You don’t have to be a hero, you just have to be willing to step up and do the job that 99% of the country won’t. But Americans don’t like liars.

    The young organizer, who lives in the River Plaza Apartments where Kauffman also lives, said he talked to police and was reassured he wouldn’t face any consequences if the page was taken down and the money returned.

    So the young man, who had called Kauffman “my hero,” shut down the page and is working to return the money.

    All of this upset Kauffman to the point that his friends and neighbors feared for his health. His laundry list of illnesses leaves him vulnerable to strokes, heart attacks and more.

    Dude, don’t lie. Be proud of what you’ve actually done instead of making up bullshit stories that make you look like a flimflam man. This is too stupid for me to even put it on our Stolen Valor page.

    Vanessa Hicks

    Andy11M sends us a link to a story about Vanessa Hicks who is a veteran and a photographer who took this picture of her 8-day old baby and her husband. When she posted it, the internet lost it’s shit;

    On one Facebook page an unidentified poster put up her picture writing and wrote they found it was “disrespectful, rude, tacky, disgusting, and against the U.S. Flag Code.”

    […]

    “I have seen first-hand what is desecration of the flag,” Hicks said of her time in the military. “At the end of the day I didn’t do anything that disrespected this flag.”

    Hicks, whose husband is still on active duty in the Navy, said the flag is a symbol of U.S. freedoms including the First Amendment right to free speech.

    From USAToday;

    “Not only the photo, but the service member that was in the photo – saying he should be reprimanded; he should be kicked out; he’s dishonoring the uniform,” Hicks continued.

    I’ll admit that it’s a little corny, but, it’s certainly not disrespect for the flag. There’s enough real disrespect out there to the flag, the country, the constitution, but this ain’t it. I just saw Ms. Hicks on Fox & Friends and I don’t think she meant it the way that the internet police think she meant it.

    UC Irvine students vote to ban flag

    Brent and T Breezy send us a link from Fox News‘ Todd Starnes who reports that the Associated Students of University of California (ASUCI) at Irvine voted 6-4 (two abstained from voting) to ban the American flag from their campus;

    “Designing a culturally inclusive space aims to remove barriers that create undue effort and separation by planning and designing spaces that enable everyone to participate equally and confidentially,” read the resolution authored by Matthew Guevara.

    […]

    Guevara’s resolution, which was in dire need of an edit, rambled on about “paradigms of conformity” and “homogenized standards” and blah, blah, blah.

    […]

    “The American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism,” he bemoaned. “Flags not only serve as symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism, but also construct cultural mythologies and narratives that in turn charge nationalistic sentiments.”

    The university grown-ups don’t support this movement, and apparently they won’t concede to this vote. In fairness, there are 22,000 students on this campus and only 6 people voted for the measure and according to the article, not even a majority of the undergrads concur with opinions of Matthew Guevara that were foisted on the student body. But, I think Mr Guevara needs to focus on being a student rather than being an activist. I mean, that’s why he’s in school – to learn – not to make himself look like an uneducated twit.

  • Court to Army: refer to Manning as a woman

    Court to Army: refer to Manning as a woman

    Anon in Jax sends us a link to NBC News which reports that the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals has instructed the Army to refer to that Manning person in court documents in either gender-neutral or female terms;

    “Reference to appellant in all future formal papers filed before this court and all future orders and decisions issued by this court shall either be neutral, e.g., Private First Class Manning or appellant, or employ a feminine pronoun.” The order, signed by a court clerk, did not make the military change the name of the case in which Manning is referred to as Bradley and Chelsea.

    Manning had sought the court order to force the military to use pronouns that conform to her gender identity; the military had opposed such requests, her supporters said in a statement. The Army and Pentagon didn’t immediately respond to requests seeking comment.

    I wonder if the court is also going to order Manning’s body to start generating female chromosomes, too. I guess next they’ll declare that since Manning committed his crime as a male and he was convicted as a male, the wrong person is in prison.

    It’s the Army’s own fault, since they’ve decided to pay for hormone therapy for the twirp (see – gender neutral);

    According to the officials, since Manning has been clinically diagnosed as a transgender and is confined to the military prison, the Army is obligated to provide and pay for her hormone treatments — just as if she was confined to a civilian federal prison.

    I could go along with it, if the Army wasn’t trying to hike health care costs for retirees while they’re doing this PC bullshit.

  • Petraeus to plead guilty?

    Petraeus to plead guilty?

    CNN reports that David Petraeus is expected to plead guilty to charges that he lost control of classified material when federal agents found the stuff on Paula Broadwell’s, his girlfriend, computer.

    Gen. David Petraeus is expected to plead guilty to federal charges to end a probe into whether he provided classified information to his mistress when he was CIA chief, according to a U.S. official briefed on the matter.

    An announcement about the proposed plea agreement could come later Tuesday.

    The New York Times first reported the plea deal talks, which would effectively end the Justice Department investigation.

    From the New York Times;

    Mr. Petraeus will plead guilty to one count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison. Mr. Petraeus has signed the agreement, said Marc Raimondi, a Justice Department spokesman.

    […]

    The plea deal spares Mr. Petraeus a high-profile trial where embarrassing details about the affair would have been presented to the jury and made public. Mr. Petraeus is still married to Holly Petraeus.

    So, there you go – another flag officer, one that the Left hates anyway, offers himself up for sacrifice. But, yeah, let’s waste training time on teaching the enlisted ranks about improper sexual conduct.

    Thanks to Anon in Jax for the link.

  • Three more breach White House security

    Three more breach White House security

    Secret-Service

    According to the Washington Times, 3 more people have been on White House property when they weren’t supposed to be on Sunday and Monday;

    The Secret Service said Michael J. Fogg, 27, of Newport News, Virginia, was charged Monday with unlawful entry after he entered a pedestrian gate near East Executive Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue on the heels of a construction worker. He was immediately detained by uniformed division officers.

    On Sunday afternoon, Curtis W. Smith, 33, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, was charged with unlawful entry after he allegedly climbed over the outer perimeter stone wall at 15th and E streets.

    And Sunday night, Ian R. Boone, 40, of Cambridge, Ontario was charged after he allegedly climbed over the bike rack at the outer perimeter near 15th and E streets.

    So, I guess the Secret Service has just given up – if they’re going to work for incompetent people, I guess they figure they can be incompetent, too. And, by the way, the culture is broken if more tourists are trying to get over the White House fence than lined up to pass through the fence the right way. This must be the new way to get instant fame. No good guys in this story.
