  • Trouble in Toronto

It seems as though you can’t even go to a peaceful protest these days without some soyboy latte-slurping nitwit with delusions of self-importance showing up to make a nuisance of himself.

At a pro-life protest in Toronto (that’s in Canada), a peaceful protest was underway outside an abortion clinic. As far as I can tell, no one was being rowdy.  No one, that is, until this sunken-chested dweeb showed up to not just annoy and heckle the protesters, who were behaving themselves, but to also do them some harm.  He damaged their signs, wrote on their backs with marker, and then wound up and kicked the protest leader in the shoulder and broke her phone. The video is in the linked article.

    https://globalnews.ca/news/4513068/man-roundhouse-kicks-pro-life-advocate-anti-abortion-protest-toronto/

And the Toronto police asked the woman he kicked and injured what she wanted them to do about it. Well, duh!! How about arresting him for aggravated assault and battery?

Per the Newsweek article, he has a history of violent attacks that seem to be aimed at women protesters. No information is available about what he does outside of harassing and physically attacking women at protests. He did have a job at a hair salon.

    https://www.newsweek.com/man-who-roundhouse-kicked-pro-life-protester-arrested-and-it-not-first-time-1161888

As it happens, he was fired from his job at the salon when the salon owner ID’d him as Jordan Hunt, issued a statement saying “We do not condone this kind of thing”, and the Toronto police did finally arrest him when he turned himself in.  He now has charges against him of assault, several charges of “mischief”, and another charge of assault relating to a different protest mentioned in the Newsweek article.

Frankly, this creeps me out because a lot of salons are run by gay men. While I’ve never had any qualms about getting my hair cut at one of them, the more expensive places pander to the notion of luxury at a high cost. You can get the same service at a more modest price at places like Supercuts and Great Clips or Sportsclips.

But now, you do have to ask why this guy works at a salon, around women, and then goes out looking for a chance to kick or punch them?

And if he is so pro-abortion that he will resort to violence, someone should remind him that if his mother had had the sense to flush him down the toilet, he wouldn’t be here.

And now, he has been arrested by Toronto police (well, duh!!!) and charged with eight counts of assault, seven counts of “mischief” (writing on the backs of protesters) and another count of assault from a similar incident in August when he pushed a protester into a telephone pole.

Bill and Hillary Clinton announce US/Canadian event series tour

On Monday, Bill and Hillary Clinton made an announcement. They are going on tour across 13 U.S. cities to close out 2018 and extend it through 2019.

The tours will consist of conversation-like series titled, “An Evening with President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton,” NBC News reported.

Ticket sales begin Friday morning at 10 a.m. Ticket prices are expected to be around $700 for the best seats and as low as $70 for cheaper seats.

The tours will be conducted by Live Nation, the same company that promoted Michelle Obama’s new memoir, “Becoming.” Live Nation also launched tours for several music legends.

What on earth could these two grifters say that hasn’t been said over and over since the 1990s?

    I spoke too soon.

According to Live Nation, the Clintons’ shows will include “stories and inspiring anecdotes that shaped their historic careers in public service, while also discussing issues of the day and looking toward the future.”

Somehow I doubt Cigar Bill and the Bitch From Benghazi will make an appearance.

Live Nation said, “Attendees will have the opportunity to hear one-of-a-kind conversations with the two leaders as they tell their stories from some of the most impactful moments in modern history. From the American presidency to the halls of the Senate and State Department, to one of the United States’ most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections, they provide a unique perspective on the past, and remarkable insight into where we go from here.”

    Well, there’s always this:

  • Is it time to expand the definition of ‘veteran?’

A certain  Dr. Warren J. Blumenfeld thinks we are being too restrictive with who earns the title “Veteran”.

I have long thought, though, about whom our country includes in its socially-constructed category of “veteran.” Currently, that classification remains limited to those honorably serving in our armed forces. And yes, this service and this profession has traditionally been determined by our society as honorable and noble work.

Why, though, have we circumscribed the parameters of “veteran”? Why have we so limited its definition?

Thinking can be hard … for some.  I have thoughts all the time.

Can we as a nation begin now to consider expanding the category of “veteran” to include the diplomats and the mediators, those working in conflict resolution, and activists dedicated to preventing wars and to bringing existing wars to diplomatic resolution once they have begun? What about the practitioners of non-violent resistance in the face of tyranny and oppression?

Individuals who stand up and put their lives on the line to defend our country from threats to our national security, as those in our nation’s military do, are true patriots and veterans. But true patriots and veterans are also those who speak out, stand up, and put their lives on the line by actively advocating for justice, freedom, and liberty through peaceful means.

Looking over the history of humanity, it is apparent that tyranny could only be countered through the raising of arms. On numerous occasions, however, diplomacy has been successful, and at other times, it should have been used more extensively before rushing to war.

It is unacceptable when one’s love of country is called into question when advocating for peaceful means of conflict resolution. It is also an act of patriotism to keep our brave troops out of harm’s way, and to work to create conditions and understanding that ultimately make war less likely.

Keep your heads people, this Peace craze will blow over.  You can enjoy the entire article HERE.

  • When they start pimping out the corpse of a dead veteran for votes…everyone should lose.

When they start pimping out the corpse of a dead veteran for votes…everyone should lose.

The corpse of Jason Simcakoski seems to be popular fodder for political grazing these days.  Jason died in 2014 while in the care of the VA.  Now,  Leah Vukmir and Tammy Baldwin are using his death in their respective campaign adds.

The parents and widow of a Marine veteran who died at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center appear in a pair of television ads that debuted Thursday praising Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and calling attacks against her “shameful.”

The spots are an attempt by Baldwin to counter one of the main criticisms of her lodged by Republican opponent Leah Vukmir and conservative groups. Vukmir has charged that Baldwin failed to respond quickly enough to the crisis at Tomah, where veterans were being over-prescribed opioids leading up to the death of Jason Simcakoski in 2014.

Simcakoski’s parents are in one new Baldwin ad and his widow is in another. In both, they praise Baldwin for working with them to enact a law that toughened opioid prescription guidelines. They also call for attacks against Baldwin on Tomah to stop.

“When I see these attack ads against Tammy Baldwin, using Jason’s death, I think it’s shameful,” his widow Heather says in one ad. “Tammy has literally been there with us every step of the way for three years. She’s the one helping us do right by our veterans.”

It’s not bad enough that two politicians are using his death for political gain…now his widow and parents have jumped into the ring.

In an ad released Wednesday, Vukmir attacked Baldwin over her response to the Tomah crisis. It was the latest in a series of spots by her and conservative groups that have spent millions attacking Baldwin on the issue.

“You knew about the opioid crisis at the Tomah VA and you did nothing,” Vukmir said in the ad.

Baldwin’s office heard from a whistleblower about concerns at Tomah in March 2014. It received a report in August 2014 about its 2½-year investigation into Tomah that cited concerns over the prescription of opioids at the facility, which is about 100 miles northwest of Madison.

Simcakoski died the day after Baldwin’s office received the report.

The family of Jason Simcakoski became effective activists and were instrumental in passing the  Jason Simcakoski Memorial Opioid Safety Act.  They were also awarded $2.3 million.  The practice of treating veterans at “Pill Factories” needed to be addressed.

Everyone is diminished when they are drawn into petty political fights.  Vukmir and Baldwin are political parasites feeding on the dead corpse of a veteran.  Shame on his family for jumping into this fight.  Vukmir needs to STFU and Baldwin lacks the dignity to ask this family to stay out of this petty fight.  The lawyers were all paid, the family was paid, even the doctor that was in charge of Simcakoski managed to get his back pay.  Now, these two political hacks seek to profit from his death.

I hope my family has the dignity not to pimp out my corpse.    Maybe one day they will all find the dignity to let my brother rest in peace.

LOOK: Pelosi Calls Republicans ‘Despicable’ in Misleading Fundraising Email

    Fox News Link

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) fund raising email has been obtained by The Daily Caller, stating:

“I need you to rush in $1 to defeat every last despicable Republican,” Pelosi said in the email. “I will personally quadruple-match it.”

The message said that the fundraising asked for by Pelosi was “extremely time-sensitive,” and also “that the GOP was “ramming through a vote” on his confirmation “in a matter of minutes.” At that time, the full Senate vote wasn’t scheduled until Saturday.

“They don’t care about everything we’ve learned the past week,” Pelosi said of Republicans. “All they care about is falling in line behind Trump.”

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) then delayed further progress on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation by calling for another FBI investigation.

  • Veteran Suicide Data Report

    Veteran Suicide Data Report

The VA published this year’s suicide data for veterans.   According to their raw numbers, there were 16.6 veterans a day who committed suicide.   If we deduct veterans suffering in pain from some terminal illness who decided not to end their life in a puddle of their own piss…that number gets dramatically reduced.

Feel free to read the study yourself HERE.

The WSJ published an article about it.

“If any other population of 20 million people were exposed to these threats it would be considered a public health priority,” said Paul Rieckhoff, CEO of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, which has many younger veterans as members. “There has never been a national call to action.”

Quoting Paul Rieckhoff on a veteran issue is like quoting Mikey Weinstein on veteran issues.  They both have self-serving interests that promote the stereotypical image that veterans are victims of their service to this nation.

IAVA and Paul Rieckhoff continue to have problems with integrity.

Any veteran group that associates with a Valor Whore like Megan Morse, or whatever name she is going by these days, has no creditability with me whatsoever.  Paulie leans so far left he wouldn’t understand an objective opinion if it were spoon fed to him.   Just look at some of the IAVA events and see who is attending.  Steven Colbert is the keynote speaker at one of Paulie’s upcoming events.  Colbert defines what being Libtarded is all about and is not admired by the vast majority of veterans.   Paulie is pimping him out anyway.  But I digress… let me get back to those that canceled their birthday.

In 2016, 58.1 percent of Veteran suicides were among Veterans age 55 and older.

So about 7 veterans who are too young for AARP choose self-murder on a daily basis.    What does the CDC have to say about suicide rates in the general population?

The principal deputy director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) warned on Wednesday that suicide is on the rise in the U.S. among almost every age group.

“Suicide – in all ages except for young children and the elderly – is one of the few conditions that’s getting worse instead of better around the country,” Anne Schuchat told “Rising” Hill.TV co-hosts Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton.

Suicide is a leading cause of death in the U.S.

Nearly 45,000 Americans have lost their lives to suicide in 2016, and suicide rates have spiked more than 30 percent in half of states across the country since 1999, according to the CDC.

Wait…What?  Suicide in the general population has spiked 30 percent?  The article on the CDC results is HERE.  But, but, but, I thought to serve this country in the military resulted in…victim related stuff.

Look, I do not want to make light of those who are in legit pain and struggle with emotional dysfunctions.  There are over 45,000 veteran-related charities in this country.  All this do-gooder charitable work really sucks at preventing people, who are victims of protecting this nation, from wanting to self-murder.  I have told people for years to stop giving money to these groups.  Let veterans take care of veterans.  When I hear someone pimping the “22 A Day” thing,  all I see is a huckster or an idiot.

  • The virtue of Military Service is a Myth and it is destroying this country.

The virtue of Military Service is a Myth and it is destroying this country.

Careful Citizen, having reverence for those who served in the military erodes our Democracy.

The gap in civilian and military experiences in the United States over the 17 years since 9/11 has led to persuasive, persistent, and unrealistic myths that have eroded faith in civilian leadership of defense policy. Among these myths are the superior virtue of military over other kinds of public service; that battlefield experience is the most authoritative source of military policy expertise; and that an exclusively civilian background is inadequate for strategic defense leadership. In the United States, these myths are nurtured and perpetuated by both military and civilian communities and affect general public opinion as well as the attitudes of national security professionals. These myths are also corrosive. Unless they are acknowledged, addressed, and challenged, future civilian leaders may struggle to control the use of force—a profound problem for a democratic system. Downgrading civilian leadership will weaken U.S. national security and the military itself.

I thought having experience in the field you were administering was a good thing.   Silly me.

The myth with which the majority of Americans are most familiar is the notion that military service tops the hierarchy of civic duties. The Pew Research Center found in 2011 that 83 percent of American adults believe military personnel and their families have had to make sacrifices since 9/11, but at the same time less than half the population believes the American public has shared the burden of war. The kernel of truth underlying this perception has grown into a sense that there is a deficit on the civilian side of U.S. society.

Civilians have made and equal sacrifice to those who serve in the military?  Someone explain this to me.

Veterans are often offered early boarding for airplanes. Harris Teeter grocery stores provide preferred parking for veterans. Veterans’ issues top the list for dozens of major charities and are included among the charitable giving priorities of corporate foundations. On the one hand, this is all as it should be: Admiring and expressing gratitude for military service, especially in wartime, is simply the right thing for a society to do. The problem is that admiration for military service eclipses respect for other national-level institutions and other forms of service. In today’s polarized political environment, the chasm has put those in uniform in the awkward position of embodying civic virtue.

I had no idea my service to this country was eroding Democracy.

Washington Post/Kaiser Family Foundation poll of veterans found in 2013 that nearly half believe the American public doesn’t genuinely respect their service.

    Shocked face.

A 2017 Gallup poll found Americans’ trust in the military is more than twice what it is for the presidency and six times higher than faith in Congress.

Well, we can’t have that.  Americans trusting in the military has to be stopped.   We should all entrust our safety to some Commie Pinko babe from NY.   We should put people who have no idea what the military is all about in charge of protecting us and stop this reverence for those who served before it destroys this nation.

  • Will the Real Secret Squirrel Please Stand Up

Either someone does not know that April Fool’s Day is 6 months behind us, or there is trouble, my friends, trouble right here in Foggy Bottom. Someone is stirring the pot in an odd way.

    From WaPo:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2018/09/22/white-house-distances-itself-reports-that-trump-could-target-facebook-google-twitter-with-new-executive-order/?utm_term=.14bfc0495582

The White House sought to distance itself Saturday from reports that President Trump is considering an executive order that would subject tech giants like Facebook, Google and Twitter to federal investigations into alleged political bias.

For weeks, top tech companies have been on edge, fearing that the Trump administration could seek to regulate the industry in response to the president’s tweets attacking social media sites for silencing conservatives online. Their worst suspicions seemed to come true Friday night, with the emergence of a draft executive order that called for nearly every federal agency to study how companies like Facebook police their platforms and refer instances of “bias” to the Justice Department for further study.

But three White House aides soon insisted they didn’t write the draft order, didn’t know where it came from and generally found it to be unworkable policy. One senior White House official confirmed the document had been floating around the White House but had not gone through the formal process, which is controlled by the staff secretary.

Asked about the document, Lindsay Walters, the deputy White House press secretary, said of the digital age ‘who dun it’ on Saturday: “Although the White House is concerned about the conduct of online platforms and their impact on society, this document is not the result of an official White House policymaking process.” – Washington Post article

CNBC also has an article here:

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/22/white-house-prepares-order-directing-antitrust-probe-of-tech-companies-report.html

    • The White House is reportedly working on a memorandum for President Donald Trump to sign that would direct government agencies to “thoroughly investigate” whether social media companies such as Google or Facebook have violated U.S. antitrust laws, Bloomberg reported Saturday.
    • Social media company leaders, including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter chief Jack Dorsey have denied that their platforms are politically biased.

The White House is reportedly working on a memorandum for President Donald Trump to sign that would direct government agencies to “thoroughly investigate” big tech companies like Google and Facebook, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, who have fended off accusations of political bias against conservatives. – CNBC article.

In the WaPo article, is this: “Aides at the White House said all week that the National Economic Council – which would have been tasked under the draft order to help agencies probe online bias – didn’t write it and didn’t know where it came from. Likewise, the Office of Science and Technology Policy had nothing to do with creating this draft.”

The document has been floated to tech companies, e.g., Book of Face and Giggles, as well as attorneys at so-called “white shoe firms” in Washington, DC.

In the WaPo article, there is a statement that the first anyone had heard of it at all came from an e-mail sent by or through Yelp.

You can draw your own conclusions about this.

However, since Bloomberg News reported it first and it subsequently appeared elsewhere in WaPo and CNBC’s newsfeeds, then in my humble opinion it does not land the production of this “draft” in the laps of the people at Bloomberg News or any of the other news feeds.

If it was done as a joke, it is in the same poor taste that is frequently manifested by the idiots on the lefthand side of the Mugwump fence. If it was done by any news source and forwarded to the media feeds through Yelp, it just compounds the fact that it is a lie.

In view of this attempt at forging a White House document, I will add that I now suspect whoever created this “draft document” is the same person, self-described as part of The Resistance, who created the so-called “op-ed” published by the New York Times.

If that is the case, then the media have just been hosed but good. The joke is on them.

I hope they enjoy baloney sandwiches.
