    Despite the research conducted by chickenwire guy at Democratic Underground nearly three years ago, NIST has had different findings on the collapse of WTC 7 on 9-11-01;

    On Sept. 11, it was set on fire by falling debris from the burning towers, but skeptics have long argued that fire and debris alone should not have brought down such a big steel-and-concrete structure.

    Scientists with the National Institute of Standards and Technology say their three-year investigation of the collapse determined the demise of WTC 7 was actually the first time in the world a fire caused the total failure of a skyscraper.

    “The reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery,” said Dr. Shyam Sunder, the lead investigator on the NIST team.

    Investigators also concluded that the collapse of the nearby towers broke the city water main, leaving the sprinkler system in the bottom half of the building without water.

    Yeah, but did they do this WITH REAL KEROSENE;

  • Pretzel Logic

    f3h.jpg

    Impeachment seems to be slipping through their fingers, Nancy Pelosi has abandoned them on defunding the war in Iraq. Even their last hope, Barack Obama admits that maybe he won’t pull troops out of Iraq as soon as everyone hoped. So what’s the Left to do? Well, it seems they’re trying to rally State governments in order to stop augmenting our armed forces with National Guard troops. Several organizations link to a central page at Liberty Tree which touts itself as a “Foundation for the Democratic Revolution” and another named Peace Action. This whole movement seems to have started in the most logical of places – Vermont.

  • WSJ compares Obama and Thomas

    The other night at the Saddleback non-debate, both candidate was asked which Supreme Court justices each would not have nomimated. McCain, of course, said that he wouldn’t have nominated the most liberal of the justices, but Barack Obama took the standard leftist position of singling out Clarence Thomas. So the Wall Street Journal decided to compare Barack Obama to Justice Thomas;

    By the time he was nominated, Clarence Thomas had worked in the Missouri Attorney General’s office, served as an Assistant Secretary of Education, run the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and sat for a year on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the nation’s second most prominent court. Since his “elevation” to the High Court in 1991, he has also shown himself to be a principled and scholarly jurist.

  • That didn’t take long

    Richard Nixon was a shifty-eyed crook, Ronald Reagan was a doddering old fool, George HW Bush was a wimp, George W Bush is an idiot. And now John McCain is a cheater. Last night I first read on Ace of Spades that Andrea Mitchell-Greenspan was accusing John McCain of cheating in the Saddleback non-debate. From Michelle Malkin;

  • A peek into the future

    The Georgia crisis has given us a peek into the future and a glimpse of what President McCain and President Obama would do in a crisis. An AFP story reports;

     “During an international crisis when bipartisanship is needed most, it’s disappointing that the Obama campaign has chosen to launch inflammatory and baseless political attacks,” said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

    He was responding to an attack from Obama’s top foreign policy adviser, Susan Rice, who said the Republican’s strident rhetoric against Russia would backfire.

  • Mind your own business

    I was reminded this morning of some thoughts I had last night about a post I wanted to write on Liberals’ pretending to care while I was reading this at Cold Fury;

    Sad, ain’t it?

    The harmful effects of our national safety obsession ripple outward into society. One in six children in America is obese, and many of them will face a lifetime of chronic illness. According to the Center for Disease Control, this problem would basically cure itself if children engaged in the informal outdoor activities that used to be normal. But how do we lure children off the sofa? One key attraction is risk.

    Read the whole thing and you’ll see where I’m going.

    Yesterday, two incidents happened to trigger this line of thought. First, our resident troll urged me to stop smoking…of course, he’s unsure if I even smoke or not since I’ve never said I do, but for some reason he felt the need to save me from myself. How noble…and insincere. The second incident happened on my long nightly bike ride. As I zoomed past a guy about my age walking his two homosexual-looking tiny, useless terriers, he felt the need to shout out “Get a helmet!”

    Now, the thing in common with Richard Wheeler and the old queer with the queerer dogs is that neither of them know me, that my death or injury wouldn’t really affect their lives to any measurable degree, but they both felt the need to give me unsolicited advice to quench their own sense of self-satisfaction. It made them feel better to think they were doing me some good – not for my sake, but for their own sakes. And that’s what Liberals do…they make themselves feel better by imposing on other people’s lives. (Never mind that their own lives are in irreparable turmoil)

    Just like in Los Angeles where they’ve forbidden new fast-food joints from opening in poor neighborhoods to prevent obesity among the poor. Will it affect obesity even a little bit? Nope. But the Liberals feel as if they’ve done something. Banning transfats in cities is just as useless…but the Liberals can sleep at night knowing they’ve done something – they’ve done something useless, but they’ve done something. What have you done? Nothing? Well, I did something!

    When I was stationed at a remote post in Germany, I’d take a bus about 150 miles to get to a MacDonalds and have two fish fillet sandwiches (the Germans called them FischMacs) and then get on the bus and go back. I’m pretty sure there are fast food joints closer than 150 miles to poor neighborhoods in LA. The only way to cure our obesity epidemic is with education.

    But the Left would rather regulate our lives and make things difficult for us. The government has crept so deeply into our daily lives, that virtually nothing is left unregulated.

    And it’s up to me to decide whether or not I wear a helmet when I ride my bicycle. They’re uncomfortable and block my view while I’m riding. And no one makes one that fits my enormous head. I have to perch the useless thing on my crown like a clown hat. I rode a bicycle for years without one when I was a kid, and I won’t start now.

    A few years back, I crashed on my bike and fractured my arm and my leg. The first thing my doctor and everyone else who heard about it said was “Were you wearing a helmet?” A helmet wouldn’t have prevented my fractured arm or leg, but it made them all feel good to chastise me for not wearing a helmet.

    Besides, all of you guys look like this when you’re wearing a helmet.

  • My favorite Kossak

    This clown, Ken Tucker, is hands down my favorite Kossak. Dude is certifiable, and absolutely certain if you don’t drink the kool aid he’s serving that you are a wretched human being. Case in point is today’s poll (the man is BIG on polls)…

    kossak1.bmp

    In bizzarro Kos world, it is okay to pick on the old, assuming the old believe differently than you. Alzheimers is joke worthy, and if you disagree with Tucker, than you sir are not only worse than Hitler, you also hate “blacks, browns and gays!” Now how that follows is completely unknown to me, but there it is.

    McCain’s huge transgression this time was failing to vote for an override of the President’s veto on the Medicare Bill. Now, in point of fact, I was tangentially involved in that debate, and was on the side that Mr. Tucker was. (Do I still hate those people even if I spoke out on your side?)

    Now, as for “McShame being AWOL”, Ken, you ever been to this site?

    Let me engage in a little Tuckeresque Hyperbole:

    Vote 174: On the Cloture Motion: Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to Consider S. 2731; Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008, OBAMA NOT VOTING.

    Senator Obama hates black people, hates gay people, loves malarial mosquitos, and wants all brown people to die. Oh, and Tubers, he hates Tubers.

    Vote 172: On the Nomination: Confirmation Lt. Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

    Vote 171: On the Nomination: Confirmation Gen. David H. Petraeus, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

    By failing to stop this, OBAMA showed his support for those who murder little brown children, fire DU Rockets into the sky ruining the genome of Gaia, and continue to occupy a land that without evil US oppressors would right now be overrun with unicorns, fluffy bunnies and gum drop mountains.

    Dude, relax. Take some Xanax. Seriously. The Veto override wasn’t in doubt, and there really is no need to engage in such hostility with people who just don’t espouse your world view. Learn to laugh a little.
