    Michael Tracey; How To Violently Prevent Trump From Taking Power

    michael-tracey-440x440

    One of our friends posted this on Facebook yesterday, it’s written by this Michael Tracey fellow who wants you to know that he doesn’t support the idea of violently preventing Donald Trump from assuming his office – the office to which he was Constitutionally elected – but he wants to tell you how you can do it. His naivete in regards to the application of force is almost cute;

    If I took this view of Trump, and was able-bodied, here’s what I’d do to prove that I actually believe my own rhetoric, rather than just spout alarmist nonsense for political effect.

    I’d assemble armed resistance brigades in and around states that voted for Trump. I’d make sure the participants are well-trained in urban combat. I’d do drills. I’d ensure that secure communications have been established to enable inter-state coordination. I’d impart to participants that they should be prepared to face severe state punishment for their rebellious acts—?perhaps even death.

    The plan would be as such. The brigades would position at Republican state capitals (Harrisburg PA, Lansing MI, Raleigh NC, etc.) where the Electoral College is due to meet on December 19. I’d make sure every Elector expected to vote for Trump is identified. The night of December 18, the brigades would forge a blockade at the various state capitol buildings. Electors identified as Republican and/or Trump supporters would be physically prevented from entering, if necessary by lethal force. It’s possible that Electors would scramble to meet someplace other than the state capitol building; the resistance must take precautions to ensure this does not happen, possibly by physically restraining the Electors, imprisoning them, or worse.

    If this is carried out successfully in enough Republican state capitals, Trump will fail to receive the requisite 270 electoral votes, and the election would be decided in the House of Representatives. Who the hell knows what would happen at that point.

    I don’t know where he’d find any volunteers who are “well-trained in urban combat” – is there a Craig’s List category for that? And how would he “make sure” that they were well trained? I’m sure Michael’s military training is on par with my underwater basket-weaving skills.

    I’m pretty sure training a brigade of stank-ass hippies would be noticed especially when they all show up at Starbucks for their hourly breaks from training. They’ll need firearms – too bad about those background checks and waiting periods before buying guns, huh? Maybe they can take advantage of the gun show loop holes.

    Again: I don’t support the enactment of this plan. In fact, I vigorously oppose it. However, if I took the extreme view of Trump that so many in our media class do, I’d see it as morally obligatory.

    Translation; If you try this and the plan fails, I don’t want the blame, but if it works, I totally thought it all up on my own.

  • Mandy Lea Whipple steals vet’s ID

    TSO sends us a link from the Military Times which reports that Mandy Lea Whipple was sentenced for stealing the identification of a former employer which she used to get a VA home loan. The discrepancy was discovered when she was delinquent on the payments.

    In addition to 18 months in a Federal prison, she has to “make restitution of nearly $42,000 to the VA, nearly $29,000 to a mortgage company and nearly $6,000 to another lender.”

    According to KMALand;

    The investigation was conducted by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont County Attorney’s Office, Department of Veteran Affairs Office of Inspector General and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

  • Flag flies over Hampshire College once again

    Flag flies over Hampshire College once again

    WWLP reports that the American flag is once flying over Hampshire College this morning after a brief respite from the tyranny. College President Lash made this statement;

    This morning we raised the United States flag to full staff at Hampshire College after a two-week discussion period about what the flag means to members of the Hampshire community. College leadership, including the board of trustees, had decided on November 18 to lower the flag for a time to encourage uninhibited expression of deeply held viewpoints.

    We are alarmed by the overt hate and threats, especially toward people in marginalized communities, which have escalated in recent weeks. We did not lower the flag to make a political statement. Nor did we intend to cause offense to veterans, military families, or others for whom the flag represents service and sacrifice. We acted solely to facilitate much-needed dialogue on our campus about how to dismantle the bigotry that is prevalent in our society. We understand that many who hold the flag as a powerful symbol of national ideals and their highest aspirations for the country—including members of our own community—felt hurt by our decisions, and that we deeply regret.

    The dialogue we have experienced so far is the first step of a process. Hampshire staff and faculty have led facilitated discussions, I have held multiple focus group sessions, and all of our students, faculty, and staff have been invited to contribute their opinions, questions, and perspectives about the U.S. flag. This is what free speech looks like. We believe in it, we will continue this work on campus, and we will look for ways to engage with our neighbors in the wider community. We raise the flag now as a symbol of that freedom, and in hopes for justice and fairness for all.

    At Hampshire, we are committed to living up to these principles:

  • To insist on diversity, inclusion, and equity from our leaders and in our communities, and the right to think critically and to speak openly about the historical tensions that exist throughout the country
  • To constructively and peacefully resist those who are opposing these values
  • To actively and passionately work toward justice and positive change on our campus and in the world.

No less should be expected of any institution of higher learning.

  • More Vegan Idiocy, UK-Style

    Well, it seems as if the vegan community in the UK have their knickers in a knot again.  But this time around, it’s not about the normal vegan “causes du jour”.

    This time, they’re apparently “outraged” over the UK’s new 5-pound banknote.  They’re up in arms because the new polymer banknote “is not vegan”.

    Seriously.

    It seems that small amounts of animal products – tallow, specifically – are used during the manufacturing process.  So that makes the new notes “unacceptable.”

    Silly me.  I always thought banknotes were money – not food.  But apparently vegas must eat them.

    Talk about yer “green” diet!  I guess I need to learn more about vegan    idiocy    practices.  (smile)

    IMO the best response was from one guy in the UK.  He’s offered any vegan who finds the new 5-pound unacceptable the opportunity to get rid of those “icky” banknotes in exchange for a pound – presumably a pound coin, which contains no animal products.

    No word on how many takers he’s had so far.  (smile)

  • Veterans protest Hampshire College protest

    Veterans protest Hampshire College protest

    Lash

    We talked last week about Hampshire College removing US flags from their campus so the students can discuss what they want to do about flags on their campus. WWLP reports that about 1000 veterans showed up to tell students what the rest of America who is not their college president felt about the issue. Of course, Jonathon Lash, the college president was no where to be seen;

    Jerry Maguire, Veteran said, “They took down my flag, they have a right to that, I’m here to defend their right to do that but I want them to understand how bad that hurts me.”

    Hundreds gathered to show their support of the American flag and what it stands for after the College removed the flag on campus earlier this week following the presidential election results. A decision by the college that outraged many.

    David Soucy, a Veteran told 22News, “I was in Iraq 18 months. I got hurt, spent time at Walter Reed. I came home and there’s no way I’ll let anyone take down the flag, no way. It means a lot to me and my brothers.”

    People came from all over New England to attend this protest.

    Lash did give 22 News an interview from his spiderhole;

    Lash…told me he stands for and supports everything that veterans do for our country, but decided to temporarily remove the main American flag on the Hampshire college campus to allow for honest and open dialogue among all students.

    Lash said “After the election campaign and the degree of racism, sexism, and islamophobia that played out in that campaign, feelings were just exacerbated.” He told 22News the flag had to be removed because it was making it impossible for students to have a direct discussion.

    I guess because honest and open dialogue can’t happen with an American flag in the area.

  • Adventures in Recount

    Well, we thought that a Republican finally won an election without the crybabies calling for a recount. Too soon. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate figures that she could pay off her campaign debts by recounting ballots in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and the Clinton campaign has joined in with them, according to Fox News;

    The Clinton campaign joined the effort, despite Clinton having already conceded the race.

    “Now that a recount is underway, we believe we have an obligation to the more than 64 million Americans who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton to participate in ongoing proceedings to ensure that an accurate vote count will be reported,” Hillary for America attorney Marc Erik Elias said on Medium.

    Stein, who got roughly 1 percent of the national vote, says she wants to make sure hackers didn’t skew the results in those swing states.

    “We’re standing up for a voting system that we deserve,” Stein said Friday.

    For their part, the White House stands behind the election results, according to Politico;

    “We stand behind our election results, which accurately reflect the will of the American people,” a senior administration official told POLITICO late Friday.

    “The federal government did not observe any increased level of malicious cyber activity aimed at disrupting our electoral process on election day,” the official added. “We believe our elections were free and fair from a cybersecurity perspective.”

    The Left can never accept that it was their politics that defeated them at the polls – it’s always something else.

  • Colin Kaepernick and Castro

    Colin Kaepernick and Castro

    Colin Kaepernick and Castro

    Just before it was announced that Fidel Castro had died, the Miami Herald published an editorial about the confrontation that Armando Salguero had with Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49ers Quarterback in regards to the T-shirt that the football entertainer wore during interviews. The T-shirt depicted Castro with Malcolm X. Salguero was born in Havana and his family was forced to leave under the Castro regime.

    “One thing Fidel Castro did do is they have the highest literacy rate because they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here even though we’re fully capable of doing that,” Kaepernick said.

    Is this real life?

    First, Cuba does not have the highest literacy rate. Second, don’t be surprised if the same people who report Cuba’s admittedly high literacy rate are related to those who report its election results — the ones in which the Castros get 100 percent of the votes.

    Third, could it be Cuba doesn’t have to invest a lot in its prison system because, you know, dungeons and firing squads (El Paredon) are not too expensive to maintain?

    Finally, it’s bizarre that Kaepernick is extolling the education system of a country where people believe launching out into shark-infested seas to flee is a better idea than staying there.

    This Kaepernick fellow seems awful confused to me, but then, he’s just the product of the corrupt education system in this country that crams a political message into the orifices of our children’s heads instead of facts.

    And then there are those wooden headed defenders of Kaepernick, like Jesse Ventura (James George Janos);

    “I salute Colin Kaepernick,” Ventura said. “I fully support him. Fully and completely. That’s why I served my country, so that you have the freedom to protest. If we don’t like protesting, what’s next?”

    Ventura couldn’t possibly care what Kaepernick is protesting, rather that he has the power to do it.

    “He shouldn’t be booed,” Ventura coninued.

    What? So only dissent should be encouraged, not dissent of the dissenters. Nice.

  • Hampshire College and the flag

    According to The Hill, on the day after the election, the inmates running the asylum at Hampshire College decided to fly flags on campus at half staff “as an expression of grief over the violent deaths being suffered in this country and globally” as if those violent deaths didn’t happen until the moment that the Democrat candidate was defeated in an election.

    For some reason, that decision became a ban against flying a US flag on the campus from the head inmate, Hampshire’s president, Jonathan Lash. He posted this statement on the college’s Facebook page;

    Hampshire College statement

    So, it’s not really a ban, it’s a period in which the inmates can reflect on “racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-Semitic, and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and behaviors”. Somehow an American flag flying over the campus during this navel-gazing isn’t productive.
