  • Daniel Allen Noble goes “full Rambo” in Florida bar

    Daniel Allen Noble

    Green Thumb sends a link to a story about Daniel Allen Noble who sat peacefully in a bar for a while, then left and came back with a rifle and a knife;

    Two customers engaged Noble and forced the barrel of the rifle toward the ground, where two shots were fired. Noble was able to cut the two men after being disarmed of the rifle.

    […]

    The two men were finally able to subdue Noble before he was arrested. Mironov and Noble were taken to the hospital for their injuries before Noble was booked into Flagler County Jail, according to First Coast News.

    According to WPTV Mister Noble is rotting in a jail cell on $400k bail for “charges of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon”.

  • Jodi Rives Meier; teaching vets is hard

    Jodi Rives Meier

    Our buddy, Nickie, sent us a link on Facebook about this “teacher” Jodi Rives Meier, a part-time Communication instructor at Butte College’s Chico, California campus, who wrote this about her students who are vets on Facebook;

    There are reasons recruiters draw heavily from undereducated populations–two of them being they are often desperate and that uninformed folks ask fewer questions. Students with poor academic performance are almost universally encouraged to go into the military and, lord knows, their skills do not improve while in the service.

    I suspect that if she was a conservative and wrote that about any other group of Americans, the Left would be crawling up her ass with a microscope. And a woman like her, a liberal, would be leading the charge. But she’s not a conservative and she’s talking about veterans, one of those unpopular species of humans, so she gets all butt hurt when the media shows up at her door without warning. She writes on her Facebook page;

    So, it turns out, if you post a MILLION times about social causes–suicide prevention, mental health awareness, LGBT+ issues, rape culture, fiscal meltdowns, local theater–no one in the media could give a shit. But, post about the military–and get a few boys with hurt feewings–and Jerry Olenyn from whatever channel shows up on your doorstep pushing for a response on video for the “lead story at 6:30.” Which you’ve heard nothing about. And when you say you feel uncomfortable having a news reporter “ambush” you at your home–where he is uninvited and is not a public place–when you are in your pajamas on your day off, he gets a little testy about being offended at your attack on him. And then the neighbors call the police. And then he tries to make the police call part of the story. And then you are just sick to damn death with all the bullshit. So, watch it at 6:30, I guess.

    You don’t have to wait until 6:30, you can see the video at this link. She tells the interviewer with an analogy about rotten apples, that there’s something wrong with the barrel.

    First of all, I’m not surprised that her students who are veterans are having a rough time in her classes. Many of them just came back from a war, about which she knows nothing. Adjusting to a classroom after that experience might be tough. Apparently, instead of trying to help those students, she’d rather chastise the entire group. If veterans were a race, I’d say she’s a racist, but she’s just a bigoted turd.

    In an interview Rives said she stands by her posts adding that military personnel are being ill-served in preparing for civilian life.

    “I can’t show specific student work. But if I were able to do that, which I would not because it would violate their privacy … clearly, you would be able to see that these are people struggling with academic skills,” Rives said.

    In response to another person’s post, Rives discusses “military guys” having a large pool of people to rape, a comment she defended.

    “It’s not just the case of one or two incidents,” Rives said. “How many apples have to be bad before we suspect that the barrel has problems?”

    Yeah, we’re all stupid and we joined the military so we could rape people. This little bigot has no place in civil society. Maybe it’s not “the barrel” that’s the problem, Maybe it’s Jodi Rives Meier. After all students are only as good as their teacher.

    As @Yes, Nick Searcy! would say, she’s also fat.

  • “You can run. You can hide. But you can’t run and hide forever.”

    Kudos to the US Marshals Service.  Due to their efforts, an Army fugitive on the run for more than 36 years has been captured.

    James Robert Jones was captured yesterday in Pompano Beach, FL.  Jones committed premeditated murder and aggravated assault while in the Army.  In 1974, he was tried by court-martial, convicted, and sentenced to 23 years in prison for his crimes.

    Jones escaped from Leavenworth in 1977.  Four years later, he surfaced – under an alias – in Florida.  He’s apparently been living there, quietly, since.  He’s known to have lived in Deerfield Beach, FL, since at least 2005.

    This January the Army asked the US Marshals Service for assistance in finding Jones.  Using facial recognition software and other techniques, they located him.  He’s now in custody and will be returned to Army control.

    Had Jones simply served his sentence, he’d have been a free man 16+ years ago.  Now, he’ll likely die in prison – deservedly so.

    Note:  this article’s title is a quote from US Marshals Service spokesman Barry Golden.  I thought it was fully apropos here.

  • Benjamin Bishop: The spy who loved her

    Benjamin-Bishop

    Associated Press reports that 60-year-old Reservist LTC Benjamin Bishop may plead guilty to succumbing to the wiles of his 27-year-old Chinese girlfriend and sending her classified defense information;

    A document for the plea agreement filed Tuesday said Bishop emailed his girlfriend classified information on joint training and planning sessions between the U.S. and South Korea.

    It said Bishop had classified documents at his Hawaii home, including one titled “U.S. Department of Defense China Strategy,” another on U.S. force posture in Asia and the Pacific and a U.S. Pacific Command joint intelligence operations center special report.

    An FBI affidavit last year alleged the then-59-year-old gave his 27-year-old girlfriend classified information about war plans, nuclear weapons, missile defenses and other topics.

    Bervar has said the two were in love and that the case was about love, not espionage.

    Yeah, well, I’ll admit that I have a thing for Asian chicks, too, but I never had one ask me to email her classified documents. And if a woman 30 years younger than me started hanging on me, I’d suspect that something is up. It’s just nature. Anyway, I’m sure he’ll find true love now. With his cell mate. I hope it was worth it for him.

  • American Humanist Association; Intolerance as policy

    The other day, we wrote about The American Humanist Association who were suddenly upset that World War I memorial was ordering them to become Christians in Maryland. Today we read that, in California, the crybaby wienies heard about a cross that a woman had placed placed at the site where her son had been killed in an automobile accident crossing the street a little over a year ago and the American Humanist Association coerced her into removing it.

    According to the Post-Enterprise, some local residents heard of the American Humanist Association’s intolerant behavior, and placed their own crosses in the place of AnnMarie Devaney’s cross.

    “They said they have to take that one down,” said Doug Johnson. “But they didn’t say anything about putting another one up.”

    They were among a handful who showed up Thursday, March 6, as the Devaneys removed the memorial, which included a 5-foot-tall cross. Devaney, who frequently fought off tears during the gathering, called the show of support “awesome.”

    In May 2012, 19-year-old Anthony Vincent Devaney was struck and killed crossing Lake Street. In December of that year, the family erected the memorial. A complaint prompted the American Humanist Association in Washington, D.C., to intervene, contending the placement of the symbol in the city right-of-way violated the separation of church and state.

    Among those who attended the event was Laurie Howanec She said she was the stepmother of the 17-year-old boy who drove the car that struck Anthony. Howanec said it was the first time she had personal contact with the Devaneys in the aftermath of the incident, but she was moved to show her support.

    Well if the American Humanist Association plans on removing the crosses from all of the memorials around the country, they’re going to be mighty busy. Seems like I see one every mile or so here in West Virginia, you know with twisty-turny roads. I see them, some are untidy, but then I realize that they’re not there for me to criticize, in fact it’s not about me at all. I wonder if the Godless-heathens understand that those memorials aren’t about them, at this point, either. But I’m thinking that I want to put up crosses where people haven’t died to mark the death of tolerance.

  • Sergeant First Class sentenced for taping cadets

    michael.mcclendon1

    We talked about SFC Michael McClendon last May when he was fired from his job as a TAC NCO at West Point, the Military Academy when it was discovered that he had been secretly taping female cadets in various stages of undress. Well, PintoNag sends us a link to the Associated Press which reports that McClendon pleaded out and got a 33-month term in the lock up, reduction to Private and loss of all pay and allowances;

    A statement released by Fort Drum said McClendon pleaded guilty to one charge including eight specifications involving indecent acts. A call seeking more information on details of McClendon’s plea wasn’t immediately returned Friday.

    In exchange for the plea, the duration of McClendon’s confinement was reduced from 5 years to 33 months.

    When he was charged in May, McClendon violated four articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, with some allegations dating to 2009, the military said.

    He deserved it all, what with all of the pron available on the internet these days, but I’d like to see some field grade and flag officers get their penises flattened in the same manner for their bad behavior, which is worse than what the sergeant did.

  • Sinclair Pleads – to Some Charges

    We’ve featured BG Jeffrey A. Sinclair multiple times here at TAH; past articles are listed at the end of this one.  But it’s been a while.

    Well, it looks like the “good general” didn’t exactly have a good day in court recently.  Yesterday, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges against him – including adultery, possession of pornography, attempted fraternization, solicitation of nude photographs from subordinates, and attempting to impede an investigation.

    Yeah, I’d say he abused the hell out of his rank and position, and was preying on subordinates.  Bigtime.

    For those crimes, he’s facing a possible sentence of full forfeitures, Dismissal (for an officer, that’s the equivalent of a Dishonorable Discharge), and up to 15 years in prison.  In exchange for his guilty pleas, prosecutors apparently agreed to drop two other charges against Sinclair.

    Sinclair’s still fighting the most serious other charges against him – including charges of forcible sodomy and having sex in public places.   He’s also accused of using his rank/position to prolong his illicit affair with his primary accuser through threats and coercion.  If convicted on the remaining charges, he faces up to life in prison.

    Preying on subordinates and attempting to subvert lawful investigations isn’t exactly the kind of conduct we expect – and demand – of senior leaders, “General”.  I hope they dismiss your unethical, unworthy ass and send you to Leavenworth for at least a few years.

    Thanks to TAH reader SJ for the link to the Reuters story above.

  • Another heartwarming tale from Code Pink

    Mwelcome

    The other day we reported that poor Medea Benjamin (born Susan Benjamin) was detained in Cairo airport and held overnight in a cell before she was deported to Turkey. She sends us an email today describing her terrible (yet, somehow delicious) treatment;

    Just the other day I hopped on a plane to Egypt, eager to join the international delegation of 100 women headed to Gaza for International Women’s Day. Little did I know I would be stopped at the Cairo airport, detained, held overnight in a cell, then in the morning brutally assaulted by Egyptian authorities. They threw me to the ground, stomped on my back, handcuffed me so tightly they dislocated my shoulder, and then deported me to Turkey.

    Now the Egyptian authorities are blocking most of the remaining delegates from entering Egypt and traveling to Gaza. It has been frustrating and disappointing for us, but we cannot forget that almost two million Palestinians remained trapped in Gaza while the Egyptian Rafah border remains closed or tightly controlled.

    What happened to me was traumatizing, but is minor compared to what Egyptian activists are going through, including women. Thousands of peaceful Egyptian demonstrators have been killed or jailed by the Military Junta since the July 2013 military coup.

    See, some Egyptian official got to do what the rest of us would like to do to her. And he got paid to do it. Other reports are that she was dragged through the airport to her flight by her arm across the floor like luggage without the casters. I’m sorry there are no pictures of that spectacle. Of course, we know why she was mistreated by the police; she thought that the Egyptians were restrained by law from treating her like that.

    See, that’s what happens when you want to engage in unlawful activities – you get treated like a criminal. I’m sure she misses her Muslim Brotherhood buddies.
