  • From the G-20 protest

    You’ve all seen the pictures from the G-20 protest – a disparate collection of anti-war, environmentalist, Free Tibet, Free Burma, Free China, Free Terrorists, anti-corporation, anti-bank, anti-progress, Luddites parading around Pittsburgh with their particular flavor of whackiness on display for the media (which they oppose, too, unless the camera is on them).

    Well, I dug through volumes of those pictures this weekend until I finally found a sign with which I couldn’t disagree. Here it is;

  • So what did they prove?

    infrontofpolicetruck
    Last week, while the leaders of the world discussed the world’s economic problems in Pittsburgh, throngs of immature little spoiled rich kids trashed the city. From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review/Washington Times.;

    Business owners in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh, host city of the G-20 summit of world leaders, spent much of Friday sweeping up glass and calling insurance adjusters after a throng of protesters smashed their storefronts less than 24 hours earlier.

    Plywood and duct tape covered shattered windows and glass doors at about 20 Forbes Avenue shops vandals targeted Thursday night during a demonstration that, according to onlookers, some college students joined. Some business owners said they were hesitant to install new windows until the G-20 summit ended and out-of-town visitors left.

    And, of course, IVAW was there to take part in the vandalism;

    The Iraq Veterans Against War painted messages on the sidewalks of Fifth Avenue in Oakland with mud and chalk.

    One IVAW member was arrested and the organization was able to raise almost half of his huge bail;

    ivaw-arrested

    Me? I’m wondering what IVAW has to do with a protest at an economic summit. And, as a whole, what did this protest accomplish – except to expand the divisions in the country even further. They complain that the police were too aggressive and then they push back by destroying private property. That makes tons of sense, doesn’t it?

    I wonder how they’ll react when private citizens start defending their property and the protesters no longer benefit from the protection of restraint under which we force our police to abide. They’ll be wishing for sonic cannons after they face an aluminum baseball bat.

    From the Washington Times, one student shows a bit a common sense;

    “This whole thing was just stupid,” said Pitt student Lindsey Westerbrook, 21, of Oakland, as she stared at an open but boarded-up McDonald’s. “Why would you trash your own neighborhood to make a point?”

  • Yes morons, this video is 100 percent fake (Or Not)

    I wasn’t as clear as I should have been, so egg on my face.  I was picking out the non-military side of this, and as Confederate Yankee notes, there is option C, which I may be buying into, that this is Police, not military.

    If so, WTF with the military type uniforms and stuff?  Whoever though this up is a moron.  Wear some damn police parkas or something.

    ******************************************

    Seriously, you guys buy into this thing? Anyone?

    Mind you the fatigues aren’t right, the guy doesn’t have his shit bloused, and no one does this crap. Probably some stupid ass IVAW trick again.

    Is Drudge jumping the shark or what? This is one step down from MacBeth in believability.

  • G-20 protesters get gassed

    NEWS-US-G20-PROTESTS

    Fox News is reporting that crowd control measures at the G-20 conference in Pittsburgh include tear gas and rubber bullets;

    Police fired canisters of pepper spray and smoke and rubber bullets at marchers protesting the Group of 20 summit Thursday after anarchists responded to calls to disperse by rolling trash bins, throwing rocks and breaking windows.

    Pittsburgh Police Chief Nate Harper said 17 to 19 protesters were arrested, and Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said swift police decisions resulted in minimal property damage. Officials said there were no reports of injuries.

    Fox’s broadcast portion of the news reports the use of a sonic-type of device to disperse crowds.

    I love the smell of whining moonbats in the morning;

    “They threw it at me, and it just smoked,” Tabet said. “I started coughing at first … it made my throat itch.”

    Tabet, who said he was not involved in the protests, said he later picked up the canister to keep as a souvenir.

    Also stationed inside Bruce Hall was sophomore Kevin McMahon.

    He was finishing a cigarette outside the residence hall when a police officer ordered him inside.

    McMahon said he was upset with the demand.

    “This is our residence hall,” he said. “This is where we pay to live every year. Of all the places to try and confine us and say that we’re being unlawful, how can it be in our own residence halls?”

    Yeah, it’s the fault of the police that there are a bunch of immature little punks who want free reign to create all of the mayhem and chaos that’s in their black little hearts.

    Another Pitt News link;

    The protesters represent a variety of different causes. One sign reads, “You know it’s a radical time because our teacher is the Earth.” Another says, “Support anarchy” on one side and “Smack an anarchist” on the other.

    Richard McKita, a 19-year-old Pitt freshman, said that he came to the protest because he liked the general spirit of what the protesters supported.

    “We don’t like the idea that 20 very rich and powerful people are going to make the decisions,” he said.

    Yeah, more responsible decisions would be made by twenty very poor and weak people.

  • Oath Keepers remove IVAW “testimony”

    The other day I linked to “testimony” of an IVAW member by the name of Eric T Orseske at the Oath Keepers website. Some of you went over there and engaged the Oath Keepers and called them on their hypocrisy in a battle that lasted for over 50 comments. Founder Stuart Rhodes defended his decision to leave the young man’s testimony on the website by using the words of Ron Paul who endorsed Adam Kokesh’s Congressional candidacy;

    Adam Kokesh has been a tremendous supporter – of both me AND you! As a leader of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Adam has spent years traveling the country to spread our message of peace, a strong national defense and limited government. Adam has tremendous credibility because of his service in the United States Marine Corps and I have deep respect for his commitment to principle.

    Of course, using Ron Paul to quell dissent in their ranks only tells you the level of discourse at Oath Keepers.

    Well, finally, Rhodes and “the board” has capitulated and removed that particular testimony. During the discussion, Oath Keepers used phrases like “is our great nation afraid of a few communists?” Well, apparently Oath Keepers are afraid of a few communists;

    IVAW in particular has direct connections with some radical left collectivist individuals and organizations, who would scrap this Republic in a heartbeat if they could, to replace it with their own collectivist vision. Such collectivism is incompatible with Oath Keepers, an organization dedicated to the preservation of this Republic. As Oath Keeper Vietnam Vet Lew Waters said: “IF someone shows and acknowledges a propensity to support the very views we are swearing to stand up against and openly admits to obeying those who would impose the very programs we say we will oppose, are we not leaving our flanks exposed?”

    Those were the arguments you and I were making through out the discussion. Thanks to all of you who participated in the removal of this IVAW garbage from the internet. As long as IVAW refuses to silence the subversive voices in their ranks, we’ll be there to silence it for them.

  • Orly Taitz news

    NHSparky dropped off a link to this about the Orly Taitz saga;

    Apparently Taitz’ client Captain Connie Rhodes didn’t authorize Taitz to appeal the decision the other day according to the Columbas Ledger-Examiner;

    Army Capt. Connie Rhodes, who filed a complaint Sept. 4 in U.S. District Court that sought to stop her deployment to Iraq by arguing that President Barack Obama can’t legitimately hold office, says in a Friday letter that she never authorized her attorney to appeal a Wednesday ruling against her.

    Additionally, Judge Clay Land – who denied Rhodes’ request and threatened sanctions against her lawyer, Orly Taitz, a national figure in the “birther” movement – states that Taitz has two weeks from Friday to explain why he shouldn’t impose a $10,000 penalty against the California lawyer.

    Rhodes has come to the realization that she’s been a tool all along;

    “I became aware on last night’s local news cast that a motion to stay my deployment had been entered on my behalf,” Rhodes’ Friday to Land states. “I did not authorize this motion to be filed.

    “Furthermore, I do not wish for Ms. Taitz to file any future motions or represent me in any way in this court. It is my plan to file a complaint with the California State Bar due to her reprehensible and unprofessional actions,” Rhodes states.

    Rhodes says she is currently deploying to Iraq, and that it’s evident her initial complaint was “full of political conjecture, which was not my interest. I had no intention of refusing orders nor will I. I simply wanted to verify the lawfulness of my orders.”

    So now Oily Titz is filing lawsuits in other people’s names without their permission. Where are all of her defenders these days? I hope any other Army officer will take notice before they start challenging their orders on political grounds.

    CPT Rhodes, just go and save lives like you’re trained and leave the conspiracies to the civilian cranks.

    Since this pipeline is drying up for Oily, she’s decided to branch out according to her blog;

    there is a case being heard by a 3 judge panel in DC. An employee of the State Dep is suing Hillary Clinton, saying he cannot serve under her, since it would violate his oath of office. It has to do with an obscure requirement, where one cannot get an office, where she voted to increase salary for that office. As a senator Hillary voted to increase the salary of sec. of state, therefore she cannot occupy this office. I forgot the last name of the plaintiff. It is a long name, something like Rodomar. Can someone find it. I need to get actual caption and holding on standing.

    Of course, you’ve probably read that the San Bernadino woman, Tresa Kaelke, from ACORN has said she was just playing along with the fake hooker and her pimp. Here’s a question: Why didn’t you come out ahead of the video and announce that? These people must recognize O’Keefe and Giles by now. Any bells going off, or are they just waiting for the hammer to fall blow by blow, as it were?

  • Oh, that racism thing again…er, yet

    It’s hard to turn in any direction these days without doing something racist. Take Joe Wilson – he sparked a debate about whether Democrats want to give tax-payer funded health care to illegal immigrants. I mean, it’s an important question, isn’t it? Well, according to Hank Johnson, the Georgia Democrat, if someone doesn’t punish Joe Wilson and quick, it’ll bring back the post-Civil War Era. The Washington Post reports on Johnson like this;

    Rep. Hank Johnson, a black Democrat from Georgia, invoked the Ku Klux Klan in talking about Wilson’s behavior.

    Yeah, I guess they were a little ashamed to put his whole quote in print. Luckily, the AP didn’t have that problem;

    On the Democratic side, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., accused Wilson of instigating racist sentiment against the president and sending the signal that “you don’t have to bury it now. You can bring it out.”

    “I guess we’ll probably have folks putting on white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside intimidating people,” Johnson, who is black, told reporters. “That’s the logical conclusion if this kind of attitude is not rebuked. Congressman Wilson represents it. He’s the face of it.”

    Yeah, like when Black “leaders” threatened that George W. Bush was going to bring back slavery. That was just political rhetoric, I suppose.

    Jimmy Carter joined in the hyperbole, too. Jimmy Carter, who supported “racially pure neighborhoods” in 1976. The video from Hot Air;

    Watch Jimmy Carter tap dance away from his “ethnically pure neighborhoods” remark in 1976. It looks like he’s still tap dancing away from it.
