  • ACORN San Bernadino tape

    I can’t even write about this one – you have to watch it to believe it;

    Fox News says that Richard Shelby is pressuring the Senate to have a complete investigation of ACORN.

    This is insanity. Part two of this segment is due out soon at Big Government.

  • Human Rights Watch fires Nazi fan

    I read about the incident last week on Weasel Zippers in which Human Rights Watch senior military analyst Marc Garlasco was dragged out of the closet as a Nazi memorabilia collector. At the time, Human Rights Watch said that it was no big deal;

    This accusation is demonstrably false and fits into a campaign to deflect attention from Human Rights Watch’s rigorous and detailed reporting on violations of international human rights and humanitarian law by the Israeli government.

    Well, this morning, the New York Times and the BBC reports that he’s been fired.

    On Monday night, the group shifted course and suspended him with pay, “pending an investigation,” said Carroll Bogert, the group’s associate director.

    “We have questions about whether we have learned everything we need to know,” she said.

    Remember how the US media went out of their way to tell us that folks who used “88” in their screen names were Neo-Nazis during the Southern Poverty Law Center’s accusation that the military and militias were racist hate groups? Well, guess what was Marc Garlasco’s screen name was on memorabilia sites; “Flak88”.

    So I just knew that the Southern Poverty Law Center and Mark Potok would be all over this – but I was disappointed. They’re still busy chasing “nativists” – whatever that means today.

    Of course, the New York Times blames the Israelis;

    The administration of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also weighed in, but its views on groups like Human Rights Watch were already clear. Mr. Netanyahu’s policy director, Ron Dermer, told The Jerusalem Post in July, “We are going to dedicate time and manpower to combating these groups; we are not going to be sitting ducks in a pond for the human rights groups to shoot at us with impunity.”

    Other groups say they have felt more heat from the Israeli government and its allies. “Recently we have seen a new attitude, a stepping up,” said Sari Michaeli, press officer for the group B’Tselem, which recently came under harsh criticism from the Israeli military for a report that concluded that civilians made up more than half of the Palestinian casualties in the Gaza offensive.

    Yeah, the Israelis convinced him to use the Nazi-lover “88” in his screen name.

    Thanks to TSO and Blue Cyclone for the tip.

  • LaRouche poster making the rounds

    When I wrote my initial post about the 9-12 march the other day, I snapped a picture of this doofus from the LaRouche crowd walking around with this poster and predicted that these whackos who support the perennial Democrat presidential candidate would be the “proof” that the left needed that we’re nutjobs;

    DC Tea Party1 038

    Well, as I was cruising the Leftist blogs, I went to one which had been considered conservative until after the election when it’s pony-tailed, bicycle-riding owner switched parties. He had a video up under the title “Bad Craziness in DC”. He opens the monologue with;

    Open talk of revolution, Hitler, Hitler Hitler….

    Here’s a screen shot from the video he uses as proof of “Hitler, Hitler Hitler”;

    Notice at the bottom of the sign;

    Gotta keep my eyes on these guys every minute.

  • ACORN gets no Federal money?

    1stCavRVN11B sent me this link to a leftist blog written by Wade Rathke, founder and chief organizer of ACORN until last year. The most amazing quote from the blog post, and perhaps the most prescient, is this one;

    Of course it is a well settled question that has been elaborately documented that ACORN gets no federal money, but hey from the crowd talking about death panels all the time, we can’t expect accuracy, can we?

    Oh, yeah? Then why did the Senate decide yesterday to cut off Federal money from ACORN? (Fox News link);

    The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.

    The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

    Why would the Senate move to block ACORN from getting Federal grants, if ACORN doesn’t get “federal money”?

    Apparently, the answer to “the settled question” isn’t quite so settled.

    Thanks to 1stCavRVN11B and Sporkmaster.

  • Gordon Duff defines “military service” for us

    gduff_01

    I’ve run into Gordon Duff’s writings occasionally on the internet. He’s about as prolific as that Jim Staro guy that TSO likes so much, and Duff is about as literate as Staro. He’s the “senior editor” of a website misnamed “Veterans Today” – it’s been my experience that Veterans Today is just another propaganda mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.

    I always chalked Duff up under the “harmless crank” column and went looking for better targets. The other day, 1stCavRVN11B sent me a link to one of his columns published in a local newspaper disparaging the service of Congressman Joe Wilson thusly;

  • At Walter Reed tomorrow night

    Our buddy DanNY from GOE/NY sent along this humorous bit from some clowns who think they have the organizational skills of GOE;

    teabagger-watch

    The folks at Free Republic have been manning the four corners outside of Walter Reed since March, 2005 – here’s the post I did of their three year anniversary last year. It’s not like everyone just decided to finally show up this Friday night. They’ve never been involved in “severe intimidation” of the assembled moonbats halfway down the block from the Main Gate.

    Well, there was the one time that Concretebob got the permit for occupation of all four corners when he found out that the Code Pink permit didn’t exist. That’s why they’re halfway down the block. So anyway, if you’re in town Friday night, stop by WRAMC and join us.

    I hear Tankerbabe will be there.

    Don’t forget the barbecue at the Mologne House. More from FReeper buddy, trooprally;

    GoE has a duplicate permit for the moonbats area.

    The DC Chapter has also extended our permits to cover all of the street in front of Walter Reed, except the small area where the moonbats are.

    We start at 6PM. A moment of silence will be held at 8:46PM, 8 yrs and 12 hours after the 1st trade tower was struck.

    RE signs, we will have a lot from GoE I and some made up, but if the numbers are going to be as many as expected, feel free to bring your own.

    Moonbats may try to infiltrate our group with obambi-hilter and hanging obambi posters. If you see any, please immediately remove them.

  • Carl Dix and IVAW’s Communist connections

    Carl Dix was a soldier in the US Army until he refused to go to Vietnam. After a stint in jail, he came out and joined the Black Workers Congress (remember Darnell Stephens Summers? Links here and here.) From the Black Workers Congress, Dix went to the Revolutionary Communist Party which was co-founded by his friend Bob Avakian. Here’s Avakian a few days ago;

    Now Dix is the national spokesman for the RCP. Apparently, he’s not full of the hope and change of this administration. In a Democracy Now interview in July, along side Cornel West, Dix said;

  • England; “We did what we was told to do”

    Just A Grunt sent us a link to this video of an interview BBC did with Lynndie England.

    Clearly, the only remorse she has is that she was caught and has become a national pariah. England blames her behavior on her boyfriend, Charles Graner, and her schoolgirl crush on him. She says she did the things she did to please him and keep him. She says Graner would say “If you love me, you’ll do this”. I guess, not once, did it run through her mind that maybe she didn’t want a long term relationship with a pervert;

    I guess the most disgusting part of the interview is when the interviewer asks England why she’s smiling in one of the pictures and England tries to explain that she’s not really smiling – just keeping the cigarette smoke out of her eyes (at about 4:20). The whole interview is just like that moment – she explains why what we see in the photos isn’t what’s there in front of our lyin’ eyes.

    It’s a blessing for the rest of us that she doesn’t like to go out in public. The interviewer says she’s “one of the most notorious women in America”. England laments that she’s considered a “villain, a monster because I appeared in a photo for a split second in time”. She depends on manipulating the press to rehabilitate her image (ala Squeaky Fromme) and although BBC does seem to hold her feet to the fire in this interview, they can’t hide their sympathy for her.
