    Wednesday morning feel good story

    Amy sends us a link to our story this morning and it comes from Texas;

    Reynolds is a former Marine. He heard the glass shatter and refused to become a victim. He raced back to his bedroom shotgun in hand.

    “I came back around the corner, and he was climbing in, he was inside,” said Reynolds.

    Reynolds didn’t think twice. He shot the man in the hoodie three times. Reynolds says he hit him in the chest area.

    “He’s not robbing me again,” said Reynolds.

    Just three weeks ago, someone broke into the former Marine’s house, located in the 4200 block Barossa Valley, while he wasn’t home. They stole electronics and his Glock handgun.

    “But I was here this time,” said Reynolds.

    Tuesday morning feel good story

    Once again, Chief Tango sends us our feel good story and this time it comes from Louisiana;

    Police say Gerald Yager armed himself with a handgun after 29-year-old Daniel Smalley banged and kicked on both the front and back doors of Yager’s home.

    After Smalley forced his way in through the back door, police say Yager “fired numerous times,” striking Smalley once in the upper body.

    Police say Yager, who sports a Shooters USA bumper sticker on his car that says, “Crime control, not gun control,” was detained at the scene of the crime and later taken to Shreveport Police headquarters for interviews with detectives.

    Monday morning feel good story

    Chief tango sends us our feel good stories once again. This time the first one comes from Virginia;

    Police say the suspect [Mohamed Sankoh, 21, of Fayetteville, N.C.] entered the store and approached the jewelry counter. With a hammer in each hand, they say the suspect broke the glass display cases.

    Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok says the officer encountered the suspect in the store, issued commands, then followed him to the parking lot where he issued more commands. The suspect ignored them and was subsequently shot by the officer.

    It is unclear whether the officer drew his gun inside the store or once they were outside.

    The next story is from Oklahoma;

    Tulsa County deputies say the homeowner caught the suspect trying to break into his car, but security video later helped investigators determine two men were involved in the attempted break-in.

    Neighbors say burglaries are a problem in the neighborhood, which is why deputies say the victim walked outside armed, prepared to confront the burglar.

    “Neighbors and [the] homeowner say they’ve had some other break-ins and thefts of lawn mowers and stuff, but nothing like this has happened,” said Capt. John Bryant.

    Bryant says the homeowner confronted the suspect, who shot first. The homeowner then returned fire.

    The homeowner wasn’t hurt and deputies don’t think he struck either suspect either.

  • Saturday morning feel good story

    Saturday morning feel good story

    This morning’s feel good story was sent to us by Pinto Nag and it happened in Utah;

    The suspect in this case entered the home through an unlocked door at about 4:30 a.m., in Sandy, a middle-class suburb south of Salt Lake City, Police Sgt. Dean Carriger said.

    The intruder was in the family’s basement searching through things when he came upon the girl sleeping in her bedroom, Carriger said. The suspect took her out of bed and carried her upstairs, making noises that woke the parents.

    The girl’s father went to the door and saw the man carrying his daughter in the front lawn. He ran outside and confronted the man, asking him what he was doing and demanding that he give back his little girl.

    The suspect handed her over to her father without confrontation, Carriger said.

    The suspect then fled, and the father called 911.

    Officers set up a perimeter, and with the help of police dogs, launched a search. The suspect went into a second home two blocks away through a doggy door in an attempt to evade capture. The dogs at that house alerted the residents, who yelled at police already in the area to come get him.

    Police captured the 48-year-old man outside the second home thanks to a police dog that bit the suspect in the upper shoulder, Carriger said.

    I know, no guns, but still the good guys win and the bad is in the slammer.

  • Friday morning feel good stories

    Friday morning feel good stories

    Once again, Chief Tango sends us links to our feel good stories, the first is from Texas;

    A man named Thomas Lopez, 74, said two men came into his apartment and attempted to rob him. He told police that he was armed and feared for his life, so he shot one of the men before the pair escaped. Lopez says he had trouble with his phone, so there was a delay in him calling 911.

    So the “friend” of the fellow who was shot dropped off his lifeless body in a gas station parking lot. There’s that honor among thieves thing again.

    The next story comes from Portland, Oregon. When I first read the story, I thought that maybe we knew the perp because of his choice of businesses in which he hid, but no;

    Officers say when they arrived to the 4800 block of Northeast 106th Avenue, the homeowner said the suspect entered the mobile home and that’s when he confronted the suspect with a handgun. The suspect fled the mobile home as the homeowner fired the gun.

    The suspect then climbed on the roof of “Passionate Dream Lingerie Modeling” and climbed down the roof hatch. Police found the suspect and took him into custody.

    Trinidad Alatorre, 30, was not injured during the shooting and police say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
