    Martin Wirth; Occupy Denver activist kills deputy

    Martin Wirth

    UpNorth sends us a link to the story of Occupy Denver activist, Martin Wirth, who shot three sheriff deputies trying to serve an eviction notice on him. Wirth was killed in the exchange of gunfire as well as Corporal Nate Carrigan, a 13-year veteran of law enforcement and a local high school coach. According to the Denver Post;

    They were seeking to evict Martin Wirth, a 58-year-old Occupy Denver activist and former Green Party candidate for state Senate who had complained previously about law enforcement harassment.

    Property records show Wirth defaulted on the property in 2013 and has been battling foreclosure and eviction.

    It’s not clear if Wirth was shot by the police or took his own life.

    From Fox News;

    After Wirth lost a court battle over his foreclosure, he sued Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, the state attorney general and a judge in 2013. The federal lawsuit claimed that state foreclosure laws were unconstitutional and that Wirth and his unnamed guests were “in imminent danger of being wrongfully deprived of home and property while also being threatened with an armed and forcible entry onto the property and into the home.”

    He asked a federal judge to block Park County from selling his home, evicting him or forcibly entering the house and to strike down several state laws. A federal judge dismissed the lawsuit last September.

    You would have thought that a 58-year-old would have learned that he needed to pay his bills. Wirth said that because he’s run for office on the Green Party ticket, the government had made him a “high value target”, He was probably a HVT is his mind, but in the eyes of the government, he was a dead beat with a rifle.

  • Campbell soldiers arrested for impersonating police

    Campbell soldiers arrested for impersonating police

    William Jones

    Tony180a sends us a link from Clarksville, Tennessee, about two Fort Campbell privates who were driving around in the four door white car with flashing lights, badges and radios. They were pulling over drivers and asking for cash and drugs, because that’s how privates spend their off-time these days. Unfortunately for them, they pulled over two off-duty cops who provided on-duty cops with expert descriptions that led to their arrests.

    Police say, Brett Jewell and William Jones confessed to impersonating police Tuesday.

    Both men were arrested and have been charged with criminal impersonation.

    Jewell and Jones were booked into Montgomery County Jail.

    […]

    The victims, which includes two Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies, were “pulled over” by two men in a white 4-door car with red and blue light on the dashboard in the areas of Crossland Ave, Glen St, and Madison St., according to the Clarksville Police Department. The men approached motorists for varied reasons and are said to have made requests for money and drugs.

  • Sean C. Page convicted of stealing father’s valor

    GDContractor sends us a link to an article about Sean C. Page who was convicted of using his father’s credentials for securing government contracts. His father is a disabled veteran, Sean has never served.

    His father, a combat veteran, served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1981 and was deemed to be 100 percent disabled when he was honorably discharged, authorities said. The elder Page received two bronze stars during his service in Vietnam. And he did not know about his son’s scheme, investigators said.

    Page was convicted Friday by a federal jury in Sherman. He faces up to 10 years in prison. He was charged last year with scamming the federal contracting program out of about $1 million from 2009 to 2013 using two companies he formed.

    According to the article, the pair hadn’t seen each other for more than three years. Not only did young Sean use his father’s creds, after he was charged in late 2014, Page continued doing business as his father;

    Page continued to do federal contract work after his October 2014 arraignment in violation of a federal judge’s order, court records show. He earned $35,175 from a landscaping and snow removal job with the Veterans Medical Center of Salt Lake City while he was out on bond.

    So, he was just begging for it. It seems to me that he could have avoided all of this if he had just made his father the head of the company to begin with.

    When reached at home prior to the trial, Page’s father, Dalton Page, said he knows his son committed the crime.

    “We got all the proof that he did it,” he said. “Sean is my son but those programs are set aside for GIs such as myself. I am very disappointed in him getting those contracts like that. The contracts were put in my name. He had me backed in a corner.”

    Ronald Taylor impersonates police for free coffee

    taylor2

    According to WKRN, Ronald Taylor was at Golden Corral and flashed his badge and a gun at the clerk and told him that he expected a free drink with his meal. unfortunately for him, there was a real police officer in line. The real cop asked Taylor if he was law enforcement and he answered in the affirmative;

    Taylor reportedly confirmed he was a police officer and said he was with DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, and was in town on some business.

    Police determined Taylor is actually an insurance agent in Kentucky. The concealed permit and badge were from the state of Kentucky.

    The badge;

    I wondered who was buying those things, now I know.

    Anyway, Mr Pantstuckedintohiscowboyboots is currently sitting in jail with $500 bail pending.

    John Dopson

    In the same vein, Davy sends us a link to story from Jacksonville, Georgia (population 140 souls) where the mayor, John Dopson, was arrested for impersonating a police officer of the town by the local sheriff.

    Dopson declined to take blood and urine tests, “indicating the reason for his refusal was because he knew it would show positive for ‘weed,’” according to the statement.

    In addition to the impersonation charge, he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

    The sheriff’s office said it had been investigating the mayor for some time “in response to numerous complaints related to the daily personal use of a marked and equipped City of Jacksonville patrol car by an individual who possesses no law enforcement authority.”

    Dopson became mayor last year in spite of the fact that he facing aggravated assault charges. I guess when there are only 140 people in town, choices for mayor are fairly limited.

    Marine from iconic Fallujah photo mugged in DC

    Hell-House-Fire-Fight-In-Fallujah-620x400

    Chris Marquez, one of the Marines carrying Sergeant Major Brad Kasal in the above photo, was mugged the other night in northwest DC as he left MacDonald’s by some folks who were questioning him about his support for “Black Lives Matter” according to the Daily Caller;

    “I remember this group of teens harassing me while I was eating, they surrounded my table and kept on asking me ‘Do you believe black lives matter,’” Marquez told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Then they started calling me a racist. I can’t recall if they were saying anything else to me at this moment because the blow to my head really screwed up my memory.”

    DeAnthony Mason, manager of the McDonald’s, reviewed security footage and told Marquez in a phone call Saturday that when he left the restaurant a teen with a white shirt struck him on the side of the head, knocking him unconscious. The other teens then converged on his incapacitated body, taking his belongings. The head blow Marquez sustained left his memory dazed, but Mason’s review of security footage helped him piece together what occurred.

    The thieves took $400 in cash and charged up $115 on his credit card at a liquor store, Five Guys and Walmart. According to the article, Marquez was awarded a Bronze Star Medal with a valor device for his service in Iraq. He served eight years in the Marines from 2003 – 2011 and he’s currently a student at American University in our nation’s capitol city.

  • Dumping the dogs of war

    I hate these stories. I’m a dog lover. My best friend, Sam, a golden retriever, died 13 years ago and I still miss him everyday. So I try to avoid these stories, but you guys filled my inbox with links all night last night. According to the New York Post, North Carolina-based company, K2 Solutions, which had the government contract for the military working dogs has been doing their best to keep soldiers who worked with dogs in the war against terror from adopting those same dogs. Apparently, owning a veteran dog is a thing these days and civilians will pay to own one – I guess it’s easier to own a veteran dog than to actually do your part yourself in the war.

    Daniel, who doesn’t want to use his real name because he’s on active duty, is one of at least 200 military handlers whose dogs were secretly dumped out to civilians by K2 Solutions in February 2014, a Post investigation has found.

    At least three government workers were also involved and may have taken dogs for themselves.

    It’s a scandal that continues to this day, with hundreds of handlers still searching for their dogs — and the Army, the Pentagon and K2 Solutions covering up what happened, and what may still be happening.

    K2 says that it’s too hard for them to track down the soldiers who worked with the dogs, dogs with whom they share memories of their time in combat, but when K2 gets the dogs back from the military, they come with records which include the names of their handlers. Handlers try to contact K2 about their dogs, but K2 just hands them off to the Air Force;

    Other handlers say K2 would tell them information about their dogs was “privileged” and instruct them to call Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Staff at Lackland, they say, would send them right back to K2.

    “I called K2 in March 2014,” says a handler who asked to remain anonymous. “I said, ‘Can you please help me find my dog?’ They said, ‘No. Call Lackland.’?”

    This handler sent The Post an e-mail exchange he had with Lackland. He asked for help, and a Sgt. Tia Jordan replied, “I’m sorry, but we don’t have any control over TEDD dog adoptions.” Under her signature is her office: the Military Working Dogs Adoptions and Dispositions Center.

    It amazes me how in this day and age people find it so hard to just do the right thing and to do their f’n job.

  • This Time I’m A Bit Torqued

    My little friend Birdy came back to visit me the other day.  You know, the one who tells me what’s going on in certain circles?

    You wanna guess what little Birdy told me this time?

    Yep, you guessed it.  My feathered friend told me that an online persona reputedly associated with certain a group of Ditzy, Really Gonzo (or maybe that’s “Dorkish, Really Clueless”) fools claims they know who I am.  I’ve been “identified”!

    Again.  (Yawn.)

    Yeah, right.  And the moon is made of green cheese, too.

    But this time, they’ve actually kinda p!ssed me off.

    Oh, not because they’re anywhere remotely close to being correct.  They’re not.

    But they had the gall to mis-identify me as a member of the freaking mainstream media (MSM).  This time, they apparently think I’m a reporter for the Indianapolis Star.  I’ll refrain from naming the guy; as far as I know, despite his profession he’s done nothing to deserve grief from these “fine fellows”.

    Now that p!sses me off bigtime.  I have standards!

    I try to get things correct.  I check facts.  I don’t write crap that purports to be true and unbiased while instead actually producing half-baked, poorly-researched, and misleading propaganda masquerading as news.  When I write something, I make it very clear when I’m stating an opinion and when I’m stating what I believe to be fact.

    Once mainstream journalists did much the same.  But today?  Best I can tell, for most of the mainstream media today fact checking is optional and being unbiased gets little more than lip service.  They unabashedly slant the news and shill for their political favorites in a way that would make Goebbels or the editors of Pravda during the Cold War proud.  And to top things off, many of them today don’t even seem able to write at a junior high level.

    You know, I believe I’d rather have a brother in prison plus a sister in a whorehouse than to debase myself publicly the way many MSM journalists seem to daily.  (Although these days, I guess the sister could be the one in prison and the brother the one working in the whorehouse.  Hey, whatever.)  That’s almost as bad as being a libidiot who supports ObamaCare and the rest of the left’s current     Communist      Socialist      “Progressive” political dogma.

    Come to think of it, that last sentence probably describes 85% or more of today’s mainstream media.  (Disclaimer:  I have no idea if the guy misidentified as me is one of the few in the mainstream media today who has common sense or not.  I have never met him and am completely unfamiliar with his work.)  That’s likely at least part of the reason why I am not and almost certainly never will be a mainstream media journalist.  Plus, I never did much like dealing with dissembling tools on a daily basis – particularly when many of them are apparently so dumb they don’t even realize what they’re doing.

    OK, rant’s over; time to get back on track.  Recap time.

    This is apparently at least the 11th time the DRC claims they’ve “identified Hondo”.  And they’re still batting “oh-fer” –  e.g., they’ve been wrong every damn time.

    Previously, these Dull and Remarkably Gluteal bozos have erroneously identified 5 different Navy vets as being me – including 4 ex-SEALs (first SCPO Don Shipley, then CAPT Larry Baily, then a guy I’m intentionally not naming, and lastly MCPO Hershel Davis).  They’ve also wrongly claimed I was a a multi-star Army GO, a retired SF SGM, another longtime commenter here at TAH, a retired Navy diver (late 2015 – I was kinda busy at the time and didn’t write about that one), and a serving Army officer.  Finally, last time they falsely identified an Army vet who served during the Eisenhower Administration (and who is also a former Brooklyn Law School Professor) as me.

    And now, they seem to think I’m a freaking mainstream media journalist in Indiana.  Geez.

    Unless I’m miscounting, that totals at least 11 mistaken “identifications”.  I’m guessing the actual total is even higher, because I’m reasonably sure I’ve missed one or two somewhere along the way.

    And every last one of those “identifications” has been . . . wrong.  Sadly, pathetically wrong.

    (flip) (flip) (flip) (flip) Here’s a dollar in quarters, dipsticks. Go buy yourselves several clues. You ain’t even close this time.  You never have been.

    Or, better yet:  just give it up.  Quit wasting your time.

    Sheesh.  Talk about “stuck on stupid”.

  • Blaine Cooper arrested

    Blaine Cooper arrested

    Blaine Cooper

    According to Oregon Live, Blaine Cooper/Stanley Hicks couldn’t stay away from the Pacific Northwest. He was arrested in Washington County, Utah today after leaving the occupation of the wildlife refuge weeks ago.

    An indictment was unsealed in federal court in Portland on Thursday. Cooper was charged with conspiracy to impede officers of the United States, the same charge that has been leveled against at least 20 others involved in the 41-day bird sanctuary occupation.

    Cooper’s claim to fame here on TAH was when he called us “a bunch of faggot gutless pieces of shit” on the post about liar Jeff Prosen and so we dug up his records from the Marine Corps which told us that he had taken an oath to join the Marine Corps and never showed up after his Delayed Entry Program;

    Stanley Cooper FOIA

    When he was asked why he wasn’t arrested with the others at the refuge last week, he replied “Luck maybe”.
