    Air Force Security guards investigated for drugs

    90 mw002

    According to the Associated Press, fourteen members of the security force guarding nukes at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming are being investigated for illegal drug activity.

    [General Robin Rand, the commander of Air Force Global Strike Command], speaking by telephone from his headquarters at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, said the 14 airmen under investigation range in rank from Airman 1st Class to Senior Airman and are members of the security group at F.E. Warren that is responsible for securing the missile fields and convoys that move nuclear weapons.

    Rand said the 14 are accused of off-duty drug “activity,” which he refused to further define. He said the allegations were “credible.”

    None of the folks involved were officers in charge of the readiness of the 450 Minuteman 3 nuclear missiles, but they were part of the security force. Privates will always do private shit no matter how much money they make, I guess.

  • Bergdahl excuses

    Bergdahl excuses

    Bergdahl and pal

    A number of folks have sent us links to the various reports about Bowe Bergdahl who is attempting to take his case of desertion and misconduct before the enemy to the American public in an attempt to put himself in a favorable light. His lawyers put the Article 32 hearing transcript and psych evaluations on the internet to go over the Army’s collective head. There are some doctors who are claiming that he was f***ed in the head before he walked away from his base in Afghanistan. From Fox News;

    A document from July 2015 shows that an Army Sanity Board Evaluation determined that Bergdahl suffered from schizotypal personality disorder when he left the post. A Mayo Clinic website says people with the disorder have trouble interpreting social cues and can develop significant distrust of others.

    I guess that totally excuses him from walking out into Indian country from his base thinking that he’s going to walk for days, safely, until he gets to a general where he can tattle on his chain of command. That just doesn’t sound like anything anyone would do, despite the mental health mumbo-jumbo. He had five years to come up with that excuse while he was cozy with his new Haqqani pals.

    The Washington Post tells about a statement that he signed when he enlisted in the Army after his aborted attempt at a Coast Guard career;

    “I joined the Coast Guard in January of 2006. While in recruit training I had a hard time adapting to change. I had a lot going on with things at home and I do not feel that I was prepared on my own. I couldn’t take care of issues at home and was able to obtain a discharge to do so. They did discharge with a reentry code of 3L. I have no ties to home anymore that would hinder my performance while in the military. I have matured and know that I am prepared to go into the Army. Please do not allow my past record to prevent me from coming into the Army.”

    From another Washington Post article, Bergdahl mumbles something about his ambitions in the Army;

    So, stupid actions, yes. Stupid young man who wanted — I had always been a failure. The Army was — I knew the Army. I knew weapons. I knew soldiers. I knew how to do that. This was my chance to prove I wasn’t just a failure.

    I wanted to go Special Forces. I didn’t want to show up at the Q-course with some bullshit Article 15 and say, “Well, I am here, just like all the other guys that want to be super cool Soldiers.” I wanted to show up at the Q- 17 course saying, “I deserve to be here because I have proven myself already that I am capable of doing not what Special Forces does now, but what the real founders, the real guys back in the day did then.”

    So, he wandered off. Actually, he doesn’t sound nutty, he sounds immature. He sounds like a million other privates who think they have all of the answers and who are frustrated that their leadership won’t listen to them and their mind-droppings. I was one of them, so I know. The difference is that I never did anything dangerous to get attention for myself. Bergdahl blames his parents, blames the Army, blames the recruiters, blames his commanders and his squad leader – but none of it is his fault. When he’s in jail, he can blame his lawyers.

  • A can of worms

    There is this woman in Los Angeles, Kendall Oliver, an Army veteran who claims to be “genderqueer”, which means that she doesn’t subscribe to any gender. She went to get a haircut at a barber shop, and she went to the only barber shop in LA, apparently. The guy who runs the shop, Richard Hernandez, belongs to a Christian religious sect (I think Apostolic Pentecostals are one of those sects) that doesn’t allow him to cut women’s hair. So you can see that the cultures clashed. A person who doesn’t identify herself as a woman, can’t get a haircut from a guy who does classify her as a woman for religious reasons. She even called the owner and explained that she thinks she’s more man than woman, but that didn’t change his mind – you know because he’s bound by his religion to not make the distinctions.

    Of course, because the barber shop is apparently the only barber shop in LA, Oliver has to make a stink, according to the Washington Post;

    Peter Renn, a lawyer at LGBT rights organization Lambda Legal, is talking to Oliver about the incident and may pursue legal action. He said that California law that prevents discrimination on the basis of gender or gender identity should have compelled Hernandez or one of his employees to cut Oliver’s hair.

    If the shop offers a service — in this case, the haircut that the other person with Oliver’s hairstyle was getting that day — then it must offer that same service to any person, Renn said.

    “Religion can’t and shouldn’t be used as a shield for discriminatory business practices,” he added.

    I say that it’s the only barbershop in LA because she didn’t take her money else where to get her hair cut, you know like every other consumer does who is dissatisfied with their treatment in a service-related industry. Like the gays who couldn’t get their wedding cake baked at one certain bakery and instead of taking their business else where, they had to make a nation-wide stink about it. I’m sure there is probably even a hair cutting place in LA that caters to genderqueers. But, like everything else these days, it can’t be that easy.

  • Clinton: U.S. “didn’t lose a single person” in Libya

    Clinton: U.S. “didn’t lose a single person” in Libya

    clinton11_0

    According to Fox News, Democrat presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton told a group of supporters on her campaign trail that thanks to her leadership in the State Department and her keen judgement, no Americans were killed during the civil war in Libya;

    “Now, is Libya perfect? It isn’t,” Clinton said. After contrasting her approach toward Libya with the ongoing bloodshed in Syria’s civil war, Clinton said “Libya was a different kind of calculation and we didn’t lose a single person … We didn’t have a problem in supporting our European and Arab allies in working with NATO.”

    Clinton made no mention of the Sept. 11, 2012 terror attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans: U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALS Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

    Before some of our more liberal Hillary (H>) supporters begin hyperventilating all over the comments section, I know that she was talking about the part of the Libyan civil war that happened before Gaddafi met his end, but, anyone with more than half a brain could make the case that the rise of al Qaeda and ISIS in North Africa which led up to the September 11, 2012 attack on the Benghazi consulate was the direct result of US avoidance of leadership in the region during the “Arab Spring” uprisings. Just like the US avoidance of leadership in Syria has turned that mess into a morass.

  • Who Says Lightning Never Strikes Twice?

    Remember Tracy Dart? The “lady” out in Seattle who claimed to have cancer to raise money, but who in reality never had cancer?

    Well, who says lightning never strikes twice? Looks like some guy on the East Coast decided to do the same.

    Like Dart, he also got caught. But unlike Dart, he’s facing trial for larceny by fraud – apparently to the tune of $22,000+.  Predictably he’s pleaded “not guilty”.

    As I’ve said before: whenever someone can get free stuff simply by asking, sooner or later someone who doesn’t qualify will lie their ass off to get it. And it’s been my experience that generally happens sooner rather than later.

    Fox News has a short article with the particularrs.

    All I’ve got to say to this “fine fellow” is this:  be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

  • Calls for Wounded Warrior Project CEO to resign

    Wounded Warrior Project CEO Steven Nardizzi is under the gun from a major contributor, Fred and Dianne Kane of Tee-off for a Cause, who call for the exec to resign from his position because he spent too much money on operating expenses and not enough on needy veterans, according to Fox News.

    [A]fter recent tax forms reflected questionable spending by the veterans’ charity on staff expenditures, including $26 million on conferences and meetings at luxury hotels, Fred Kane called for CEO Steven Nardizzi to be fired.

    “Hearing that there was this waste of money, donor dollars that should have been going to servicemen and women that were injured, and that it was spent on [Wounded Warrior Project staff] having a good time—it’s a real disappointment,” Dianne Kane told CBS News.

    The Kanes also initiated an online petition calling for a public audit of the Wounded Warrior Project in addition to canceling the next golf tournament Tee-off for a Cause was to hold to benefit the Project.

    Yeah, $26 million bucks for some parties seems a little too much. If these charges are true, He should resign, or he should be forced out. In fact Toby Keith and Bruce Willis should lead the charge. I don’t read the specifics on these charities because I’d have no time for anything else if I did, so I depend on other folks. A number of people that I know have had a hard on for WWP for years.

  • Jimmy Janos threatens to run for President if you don’t vote for Bernie

    Jimmy Janos threatens to run for President if you don’t vote for Bernie

    Jesse Ventura's big fucking mouth

    The Daily Caller reports that little Jimmy Janos, the fellow who sues widows, has threatened to run for President if you Democrats don’t select Bernie to be the candidate for the 2016 election;

    “They’re setting the groundwork for me because if Bernie loses, by the time we get to June, how sick are the people going to be of all these people,” he said while dressed in a Jimi Hendrix shirt under a blazer and SEALs beanie.

    “See, I’m an independent and I despise the two parties,” Ventura, who speaks as if he is prepared to tackle you, continued. “I love what Trump’s doing to the Republicans. He’s got them in complete disarray.

    The day before, Ventura offered his endorsement to Bernie and Bernie declined it, because, you know, who wants a money grubbing has-been who snatches sandwiches from the mouths of fatherless children in public to endorse them? But, yeah, I welcome him to politics again, you know, from a blogger’s perspective. Joe Biden is out, so we need Janos.

  • “Teh Stoopid” Really Must Be “Cheaper by the Dozen”

    Well, longtime readers probably know what’s coming next.

    Yeah, my little friend Birdie came back to visit me again.  And he tells me it seems a bunch of      Dumb, Royally Clueless      “Deft, Really Clever” folks – or at least one of that group – claims they’ve “found” me.  Again.

    I guess this time I should be somewhat flattered.  They seem to have returned to form for now.  They appear once again to be using the DRC/DRG equivalent of a Ouija board – e.g., sitting around looking at pictures of true “high-speed/low-drag” badasses while fapping furiously, all the while trying to figure out who I am – and then somehow decide that one of the photos must be me.  Then they claim that’s who I am.

    This time, according to some      Dumb and Really Grotesque       “Dandy, Really Great” folks (or at least one such “inDUHvidual”) I’m a retired Army SF officer.  I’ll spare the guy they’ve misidentified as me embarrassment he doesn’t need and not mention his name here.

    Gee.  That’s a nice thought, you     bunch of clueless jerks     guys; and it really is a compliment.  The men who make SF a career are among the best our military has; they truly are the “quiet professionals”.  Being thought one of them is an honor, even when that claim turns out not to be correct.

    Unfortunately, yeah – that’s wrong.  I can categorically assure you I am not a retired SF officer.  So once again, you DRC/DRG     clowns      “fine fellows” have fornicated Fido (AKA “screwed the pooch”).  Blown it.  Effed up.  However you want to put it, you got it wrong. Yet again.

    For at least the twelfth freaking time.

    Hell, you’ve probably actually made a baker’s dozen or more such screw-ups trying to find me by now.   Dunno for sure, but I’m relatively certain I’ve missed at least one occasion where you misidentified some guy I’ve never even met as being me.

    Obligatory recap time:   this      incredibly dense bozo (or group of bozos)      fine fellow (or group of fellows) has now erroneously identified five different Navy vets as being me – including 4 ex-SEALs (first SCPO Don Shipley, then CAPT Larry Baily, then a guy I’m intentionally not naming, and lastly MCPO Hershel Davis).  I’ve also been mistakenly-identified as a retired Navy diver (late 2015; I was kinda busy at the time and didn’t write about that one).  Another time, I was accused of being a longtime commenter here at TAH.  They’ve wrongly claimed I was a a multi-star Army GO, now unfortunately deceased.  According to them, I’ve been “identified” as a retired SF SGM; I’ve also been misidentified as a serving Army officer.  The time before last they falsely claimed I was an Army vet who served during the Eisenhower Administration (and who is also a former Brooklyn Law School Professor).  And, last time, I was supposedly a guy in Indiana who writes an occasional sports column for a paper there.

    Now this time, they claim I’m a retired Army SF officer.

    (sigh) Geez.  Best I can tell I’ve never even met any of the folks they’ve identified as being me. And I just checked the name on my driver’s license and other ID cards, so yeah: while being a retired SF officer would be great, I’m pretty damn sure they’re wrong this time too.

    Sorry, DRC/DRG – no dice. Ya blew it again. Yer still battin’ “oh-fer”.

    Sheesh.  These guys really seem to be “stuck on stupid”.  Maybe they just like it there.

    Or maybe Jethro Tull simply had them pegged 40+ years ago:

    (Don’t forget to “click . . . on the pic”.  [smile])

    Give it up, DRC/DRG.  Your antics are boring and predictable.  And while you may enjoy showing your ass to the world, do the world a favor and cover it.  It’s ugly – and offends damn near everyone.
