    More phony BS

    Staff ID_Monica L. Brown

    Mary was solicited by this realistic story;

    Hello,
    Thank you for responding to my email. I apologize to encroach into your privacy in this manner, I got your contact from a directory on the Internet here in Afghanistan. I find it pleasurable to offer you my partnership in business and i pray at this time that, your e-mail contact address is still valid. I know you don’t know me but i meant no harm sending you this note, just that I don’t have anyone out there to talk to, as I lost my parents in a car Accident, when I was 11 year old, I was raise up by my adopted parents, but they died years ago, the relatives of my adopted Parents throw me out of the house saying that I was not their real daughter. I know you can handle this money for me on till I come over to meet with you, we can also build friendship with this transaction. I lived in Lake Jackson, Texas before joining the Force.

    You may be wondering why I choose to trust a delicate matter like this in the care of a stranger, but this is the best I can do in my present situation and I would have trusted this kind of project in the hands of my Husband who was my closest confidant, but I lost him to cancer on 22nd April, 2006 5 months after we got married, and my only brother has ruined his life with hard drugs, hence my decision to work with a neutral person if we can establish some trust between ourselves instead of confiding in my buddies back home so that this little secret can be preserved.

    Let me start by introducing my self. My names are Sgt. XXXXXXX L. Brown, I am assigned to 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division[3]. I am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of $10,500,000.00 (Ten Million, Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) as far as I can be assured that it will be safe in your care until I complete my service here.

    SOURCE OF MONEY:

    I and some other high ranking Officers made some deal on oil business over there in Afghanistan before my exit to Iraq. The deal worth $132 Million United States Dollars and after we have all share the money I later realize $10.5 Million US DOLLARS which is my personal share of the deal, due to my status as a US Sergeant, I can not be able to move this huge funds to my account in United States to avoid further interrogation or face any kind of probation by the U.S government and I packaged my own share in a briefcase and have sent it to the Red-Cross society, because there is no other way out to keep it with me here, so with the help of a German contact working with the UN here (his office enjoys some immunity) I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of trouble spot. He does not know the real contents of the package, as I have deposited the consignment as a family treasure. Your acceptance to this would encourage me to send further information for us to proceed.

    Furthermore, If my offer is of no appeal to you, delete this message and forget I ever contacted you. Do not destroy my career because you do not approve of my proposal. I believe that such opportunities only come ones way once in a lifetime. I cannot let this chance pass me by. For once I find myself in total control of my destiny. This chance won’t pass me by. I ask that you do not destroy my chance, if you will not work with me let me know and let me move on with my life but do not destroy me. If you give me positive signals, I will give you the relevant details and initiate this process towards a conclusion. I send you this mail not without a measure of fear as to what the consequences, but I know within me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches never come easy or on a platter of gold. Do not betray my confidence.

    If you wish to proceed with this, please get back to me.
    Regards,
    Sgt. XXXXXX L. Brown

    If you guys want a part of her $10 million cut of the $132 million, I left her email address in there. Bobo found four soldiers with her name, so I changed the email to protect any real soldiers. But none of them were Sergeant OF3s or in the Afghanistan Special Forces.

  • Blue Falcon Marines charged

    Rosie sends us a link to MyFoxChicago which tells the story of two ex-Marines (I used that term on purpose) who assembled the personal information of several Marines while they were clerks in Okinawa and used that information to impersonate those Marines;

    After [Leonard E. Parker Jr.] returned to the United States, he and [Dontreal S. Evans] used the Marines’ information to transfer about $138,798 from their accounts into bank accounts of others who’d been recruited into their scheme, prosecutors said.

    Parker and Evans offered to pay people to control and access their accounts, according to prosecutors. They later withdrew funds and made purchases from the accounts they controlled.

    Parker also filed false tax returns in the names of the Marines whose personal information was on the roster, prosecutors said.

    Parker is looking at five counts of fraud and one count of identity theft – each count of fraud equals thirty years in prison.

  • SGT Joseph Kimsey charged in Ashley Melnyczok’s murder

    SGT Joseph Kimsey charged in Ashley Melnyczok’s murder

    joseph-kimsey

    The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that a Fort Carson soldier, Joseph Kimsey was arrested in regards to the death of a Colorado Springs woman, Ashley Melnyczok. Brainiac Kimsey was driving around in her Silverado. He was AWOL from the Army at the time. Ms. Melnyczok’s body was found in an apartment early last month and another man was arrested for her death on June 4th.

    Kimsey was already in jail when he was arrested earlier this week. But, what is most interesting is the last paragraph of the article;

    Kimsey also had some troubles with the Army before he went AWOL.

    In a statement last week by Fort Carson officials, Kimsey was “found guilty by his commander of wearing unauthorized military awards, badges or decorations.” He was punished for his acts, the statement said.

    So, it’s an extreme example, but these folks who lie about their military service are criminals through and through. Prosecutors should look more closely at these cases.

  • Baltimore “Safe Streets” raided

    Baltimore “Safe Streets” raided

    Safe Streets

    There’s this organization in Baltimore called “Safe Streets” that utilizes former felons to stem the spread of crime in the city. The Baltimore Sun reports that a recent police raid of one of their offices came up with a stash of guns, drugs and paraphernalia related to the drug trade;

    Police said this week’s investigation began when they were called about 2:26 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Hillen and Forrest streets, just south of East Monument Street, where a man said he was just robbed at gunpoint by two men in a gray SUV.

    Soon after, an officer spotted the vehicle parked in the 2300 block of E. Monument and saw men dart inside the Safe Streets office. When officers eventually raided the office, they found guns, heroin, cocaine, and other items used in the manufacturing and sale of drugs, including cutting agents and scales, police said.

    Nine people were arrested at the site, including two Safe Streets employees….

    Those two who were arrested were co-defendants in a drug case a few years ago, one has been twice charged with murder, but no convictions.

    Operations of Safe Streets have been suspended pending a wider investigation, but Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has expressed her support for the organization, so we know how the investigation will turn out.

  • Guy Biggs and aggravated stolen valor perjury

    Guy Biggs and aggravated stolen valor perjury

    Guy Biggs

    Someone sent us a link on Facebook about this Guy Biggs fellow. It seems that Mr Biggs was facing attempted first-degree murder charges in Henry County, Tennessee, where he had tried to lure his wife to her death.

    When he went to court to answer for the charges, he made up some stories about his military experience and training to mitigate the charges. It worked for about a minute – he pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and he was probably pretty proud of himself. Then the local constabulary looked into his military background and determined that he had lied to the court;

    Biggs also filed a falsified military document to support his testimony, according to the release.

    Biggs’ sentencing for attempted second-degree murder originally scheduled for May 8 has been reset for July 13, at which time prosecutors will present evidence regarding his testimony.

    “This is an example of the stolen valor claims that occur throughout this country, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office along with the district attorney’s office intend on prosecuting Guy Biggs for his actions to the fullest extent of the law,” the release states.

    Biggs had claimed that he had seven years of service, but it turns out that he had a little more than a year. He also claimed that he had Purple Hearts and a Silver Star which was also untrue. Biggs told the judge that he had deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, but he had never left the country.

    All of my admiration and respect to the Henry County law enforcement officers for their diligence in this case. We’ve seen criminals walk because they lie to the courts and got away with it. People like Charles Chavous whose lies about his service were rewarded with a sentence of 5 years probation for what was actually 1st degree murder.

    I guess my corollary that stolen valor indicates other, more serious crimes goes both ways. Military service mentioned during an investigation of more serious crimes is usually stolen valor or at least deserves investigation.

  • Richard Matt; DRT

    Richard Matt; DRT

    Sweat and Matt

    By now you’ve heard that Marine Corps phony/murderer Richard Matt who escaped along with his murdering buddy, David Sweat, was made DRT (dead right there) by a Border Patrol agent in Upstate New York last Friday. According to the Christian Science Monitor, it was an interesting end to his career.

    For some reason, Matt shot at some campers (yeah, I’d go camping in the middle of a manhunt, too). The campers thought the shot was the sound of a flat tire, so they stopped and checked but found their tires intact and continued driving the eight miles to their campsite where they discovered bullet holes in their trailer. So they contacted authorities who went to the cabin where the shot had been heard.

    Matt hadn’t gone far and officers heard him cough. When they saw him, the officers told him to put his hands up, but he didn’t so they made him DRT. A 20-guage shotgun was found near his phonily tattooed body.

    Richard Matt Tattoo

    I’m sure that Bernath will find a way to blame his death on us, but, the flowers smell a little sweeter, and the air is a bit fresher this morning without Matt on the planet. I suspect Sweat’s end is near, but it’s not going to be as easy as Matt’s.

  • The WaPo Misrepresents Propaganda as News – Again

    Yesterday, the Washington Post published        some anti-gun propaganda     an article.  Its title tells you all you really need to know about it:

    The “legal loophole” that allowed Dylann Roof to get a gun

    I’ve put “legal loophole” there in quotes for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is – it’s absolute bullsh!t, and it’s misleading as hell. IMO, that’s by intent.

    The second reason is that it the whole article appears to be factually incorrect.  No “legal loophole” – imaginary or otherwise – appears to have been involved at all.

    Here are the facts of the case.

    The apparently-racist bastard named Dylann Roof who murdered 9 innocents in Charleston was arrested for felony drug possession 28 February of this year.  According to the WaPo        propaganda       article, he obtained the weapon used in his crime as a birthday present this April.  (This now appears to have been proven false – I’ll cover that below).

    The WaPo writer seizes on this, claiming that this is the result of the “gun show loophole”.   He does so after acknowledging that it was already illegal under current Federal law for him to have been given a weapon as a gift while under indictment for a felony crime – see 18 USC 922(d)(1).

    So, even if the original reports of Roof receiving the firearm he used in his murders as a gift had been true, the reporter’s article would still have been bullsh!t.  Why?  Because there was no freaking “legal loophole” here.  Roof was facing felony charges – and his family had to know he’d been arrested.  They thus had good reason to suspect he could be facing felony charges – and therefore giving him a weapon would have already been illegal under Federal law.  There’s no “loophole” there, folks.

    In fact, later news reports indicate that Roof in fact bought the gun himself at a local gun shop.  My guess is that he probably falsified the purchase form (ATF Form 4473) and claimed he was not under “indictment or information” for any felony crime.  (I’m pretty sure that being out on bail after arrest while awaiting further court action virtually guarantees the latter – e.g., that Roof was legally considered “under information” of a felony, even if he hadn’t been formally indicted by a grand jury.)  Falsifying an ATF 4473 is also a Federal felony.  I suppose it’s theoretically possible that the gun shop was “dirty” and ignored a truthful answer – but since that’s kinda easily discovered, I rather doubt it.  Most business owners want to stay in business and stay out of jail.

    I’ll spell it out for any logic-challenged “liberal brethren” who might be reading this. Roof was apparently willing to lie on the purchase form in order to purchase a firearm himself.  That is itself a felony.  So, how would requiring him to take a firearm received as a gift down to the same firearms shop to “complete the transfer” for a gift have made any difference?

    Answer: it wouldn’t have.  He’d have simply lied on the ATF 4473 then, too.

    However . . . having him do that to “complete the transfer” would indeed assist in later compiling a database of who owns firearms, should anyone in the future want to do so.

    Bottom line:  that WaPo        propaganda       article yesterday wasn’t about gun safety at all.  It was about misleading people.  It was designed to convince people to support whatever is necessary to facilitate backdoor gun registration in the future – plain and simple.

  • Dylann Roof, SC murderer apprehended

    Dylann Roof

    Dylann Roof, the fellow who is accused of murdering nine people in Charleston, South Carolina late last night was apprehended a few hundred miles from the scene in Shelby, North Carolina at a random traffic check this morning according to WMBF News;

    Public records show Roof was most recently arrested in March in Lexington County on drug charges. According to a spokesman for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, he was booked in the detention center on February 28 and again on April 26 after being arrested by the Columbia Police Department.

    Rumor has it that someone in his family gave him a gun. Nice to have family who is willing to circumvent gun laws for the welfare of the rest of us, isn’t it? I’ve also read that Roof spent about an hour among the church goers before he pulled the trigger the first time and that he shouted racial slurs while he was murdering innocent people, not that it matters, folks aren’t anymore dead because of whatever reasons he had to shoot them.

    That boy ain’t right.
