The Bill known as I-1639 in The Evergreen State fails to pass judicial scrutiny. The Second Amendment Foundation and the NRA fought to protect the Constitutional rights of American Citizens against Gun Grabbers in Court.
The Thurston County Superior Court today ruled in favor of the National Rifle Association and ordered a writ of mandamus to prevent I-1639 from appearing on the ballot. The judge agreed the signature sheets did not comply with state law – the font size was too small to be readable and didn’t include strikethroughs.
“The National Rifle Association is glad to see the court today recognized how negligent, if not worse, gun control advocates were in their signature-gathering for this ill-advised ballot initiative,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, NRA-ILA.
“We got involved because I-1639 tramples on the rights of Washington state voters, and because the way these anti-gun activists went about pushing their agenda was egregious. We applaud this decision, and will remain vigilant in protecting the constitutional freedoms of all Americans.”
Among other things, I-1639;
- Creates a gun registry for any transfers of commonly owned semi-automatic rifles;
- Introduces a 10-business day waiting period on the purchase of semi-automatic rifles;
- Imposes criminal liability on otherwise law-abiding gun owners who fail to store their firearms to state standards;
- Increases the age limit to possess or purchase semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21;
- Mandates training prior to purchase;
- And authorizes a $25 fee to be assessed to semiautomatic rifle purchasers.
The initiative proponents will likely appeal the decision to the state Supreme Court and we will continue to advocate on behalf of our law-abiding members in the Evergreen state.

Those who pushed for this nonsense used all kinds of deception and manipulation to get it passed. There is a very simple and straightforward procedure for getting these kinds of things passed. Simply abolish or amend the 2nd Amendment. That is a bridge too far, so they lie and try to cheat the system. I simply follow the “From my cold dead hands” policy. Some of you Gun Nutz out there might disagree with me and say I am soft.
There are some good articles HERE and HERE
The gun control initiative was sponsored by Seattle-based Alliance for Gun Responsibility, which spent more than $3 million to pay for the signature gathering effort.
“A few billionaires donated millions of dollars to buy the signatures to get this fraudulent initiative on the ballot,” Gottlieb observed. “But they couldn’t buy the Court.”

There may be hope for some of you people.
Marine vet finally promoted to sergeant 73 years later
Cpl. Edgar Harrell floated in the shark-infested Pacific Ocean for four-and-a-half days.
He swam aimlessly in the salt water — mixed heavily with black oil and blood — with a group of 80 other men who had jumped off the fiery USS Indianapolis after it has been torpedoed by the Japanese during the closing months of World War II.
It was July 30, 1945, and it was 110 degrees. They had no water. Dehydration left their lips covered with sores and their tongues swollen.
By the afternoon of the third day, the group dwindled to just 17 men. Shark fins and the torsos of those they had killed surrounded them. One would scream each time as they were pulled under, just for unrecognizable parts to bob back to the surface. Harrell prayed continually.
A video of him explaining some of his experiences made 4 Years ago.
“We have a saying that once a Marine, always a Marine. We might be a little late with this one,” Maj. Gen. Paul Kennedy said in the quick but emotional ceremony. “The Marines have been inspired by the legacy of (Harrell).”
And in a moment not too soon, the three chevrons were at last pinned to Harrell’s jacket. The now sergeant turned to look at the group who stood and clapped for him.
“Stay faithful,” he said simply, touching on his faith that he credits to have saved him at sea.
I got no problem with him being promoted to Sergeant or any other rank for that matter, Semper Fidelis Sergeant Harrell.
The U.S. Army once was superior to every potential adversary in terms of combat power, what it called overmatch. This is no longer entirely true. In the future battlefields, the Army will face enemies that will be extremely lethal, more numerous, fighting on home turf and able to exploit the advantage of getting in the first blow. Unless the Army takes a number of steps in the near-term, it is likely to find itself not merely outmatched, but at risk of defeat.
We were well on the way to becoming vunerable. Thats what happens when you gut the military and encourage leadership in the likes of 1stSgt Moerk.
Thankfully the Russians colluded to put an end to the decay of our military and set it on the right path. Thanks Putin. I am still glad I did not vote for Hillary.

A South Korean-born U.S. Army specialist who sued after the military moved to discharge her has been granted citizenship, her attorneys said Friday.
Yea Ji Sea, 29, had filed a lawsuit last month demanding a response to her citizenship application. She came to the country as a child on a visitor visa and held other visas before enlisting in 2013 under a special government program for foreign citizens who want to serve in the U.S. military.
Under the program, recruits agreed in their enlistment contracts to apply to naturalize as soon as their honorable service was certified.
Her lawsuit alleged that that the government improperly failed to process her citizenship application. Earlier this week, a federal judge ruled immigration officials had three weeks to decide whether to approve the citizenship application or explain the delay to the court.
Good on her…the immigration system is a mess. I hope we continue to fix it finally.
I could go on for hours about this bat shit Admiral. It might show a wee bit, but I never liked his Show Boat nonsense.
William H. McRaven, commander of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014, published his letter on the Washington Post website today, requesting that Trump also revoke his security clearance, “so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency.”
I really hope this loon does get his clearance revoked.
Trump said Wednesday he is reviewing the security clearances of several other former top intelligence and law enforcement officials, including former FBI Director James Comey and current senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr.
Why do these people still have a Clearance anyway?
“Like most Americans, I had hoped that when you became president, you would rise to the occasion and become the leader this great nation needs.
“A good leader tries to embody the best qualities of his or her organization. A good leader sets the example for others to follow. A good leader always puts the welfare of others before himself or herself.
“Your leadership, however, has shown little of these qualities. Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation.
“If you think for a moment that your McCarthy-era tactics will suppress the voices of criticism, you are sadly mistaken. The criticism will continue until you become the leader we prayed you would be.”
Hey McRaven…you have embarrassed those who serve and protect this nation with your ignorance and public display of hysterical political angst. What I would give to have a public debate with this attention whore. This an organized attempt, on the part of the media, to attack the President of the United States. There was no Russian collusion by the President…Hillary Clinton blew that election all on her own. The worst anyone could possibly say about what the Russians did on their own was to release exactly what the elitists at the top of the Clinton Campaign were saying to each other about the American people. I, along with roughly half of this nation, already knew they were elitist scum.
Admiral Billy McBitchen should stick to Flipper re-runs and STFU. Her gender fluid needs to be checked. People giving him credit for killing what’s his name is like giving me credit for winning the Super Bowl because I watched it on TV. I don’t agree with everything President Trump does…needy little attention whores like Billy here just make me move further into the Trump corner. Letting the Left use him as a tool just shows how brainless he is. He most definitely needs any clearance he has pulled.
But, that’s just my opinion.
