So Barry picks a 35 year Washington insider, plagiarist, academic fraud and famed international appeaser?

So much for change I guess.

Naturally, a lot of speculation is still buzzing around who McCain may pick to counter the sheer stupidity of Biden. It doesn’t seem to me that countering Joe Biden wouldn’t be such a difficult challenge.

Then this morning I heard an interesting idea (can’t remember who said it, I wasn’t really paying attention). McCain could pick Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and pull a lot of the Hillary supporters who are still pissed at “The One”.

This is certainly an interesting choice. I don’t think it will happen because she is not strong enough pro-life and has no real economic bonafides. She would appeal to the “Uterus Bloc” though and she’s younger than Joe Biden. Still I doubt this will happen.

But what if it did?

That would mean that in a national election for the most powerful job in the world (and the deputy) the choices would be among four people who all came from the lowest rated congress in history.

That’s right folks, all four would be products of an institution that is currently enjoying an 18% approval rating.

In our politically correct and electorally uninformed world; what have we wrought?

Barack Obama has some very real problems staring at him and he isn’t helping himself picking this fight.

The Politico is reporting that Barry never even attempted to Vett Hillary!

There’s one Democrat who would seem to have little or no chance of being picked by Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) to be his running mate – his former opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).

But it’s not for the reason you think.

Obama has often said, most recently on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on July 27, that Clinton “would be on anybody’s short list.”

But apparently not his.

“She was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported. “She was not asked for a single piece of paper. She and Senator Obama have never had a single conversation about it. How would he know if she’d take it?”

The official also said Clinton never met with Obama’s vetting team of Eric Holder and Caroline Kennedy.

And the official said she was never asked for medical records or for any financial 2008 information about her or former President Bill Clinton. The last information the couple has disclosed about taxes and financial holdings was for 2007.

Regardless of the reasoning for this decision; it was certainly disrespectful to the Clintons. And you can bet that the 18 million Democrats who voted for her will not be pleased either.

Being disrespectful to a fellow Democrat is not Barry’s biggest mistake. He just got up on hind legs against the Clinton machine!

This will not be pretty.

He not only didn’t bother to even give the appearance of seriously considering her, he seems disinterested in helping her with a mountain of debt. This is again something that Hillary supporters have noticed.

“He has provided her with a pittance compared to what the Clintons have given Obama,” prominent Clinton backer Lynn Forrester told the Times of London. “Her debt could have been cleared within 10 days. It’s ungracious.”

Does this explain the recent meeting between McCain supporters and Tony Rodham?

A brother of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and local Democrats who backed her unsuccessful presidential campaign socialized privately Monday with a top surrogate of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

The private gathering featured Carly Fiorina, Mr. McCain’s top economic adviser, and took place at the Dunmore home of political consultant Jamie Brazil, a longtime friend of Mrs. Clinton’s family who has signed on as paid national director of Mr. McCain’s Citizens for McCain Coalition.

If the Clinton machine has decided to try again in 2012, they will have to ensure that Barry is defeated this time. If they decide that course, Barry is going to take a beat down of Dukakis proportions.

Stay tuned, this can only get better.

In four simple words: Above My Pay Grade!

Many thought that his totally empty resume would derail “The One”. It didn’t.

Surely Rev. Wright? Nope.

Terrorists William Ayers for sure? Nope.

“Finally proud of my country”? Nope.

“Clinging to guns and religion”? Nope.

I was beginning to think that a true Teflon man was walking among us.

Then something totally unsuspected happened at the Saddleback Civil Forum.

Truthfully, all of the above probably had something to do with a 15 point swing but it is interesting to watch a guaranteed winner collapse (other than the NY Mets).

I think he is so damaged right now that he will get desperate and pick Hillary for VP (if Michelle will let him). If he does, he can keep it close. If he doesn’t, he will be beaten like a rented mule. And the Clintons will make sure of that.

Hillary of course has absolutely no idea what are “supporters” are emailing about. Via HotAir:

Hillary Clinton’s supporters will not go quietly, it seems. According to a Scripps-Howard report this morning, unnamed backers of Hillary have begun a “massive” e-mail campaign insisting that she won more votes and is the only electable candidate in 2008. Perhaps, in consideration of the polling free-fall Barack Obama has experienced this summer, they may have a point (via TMV):

How about this for a career decision? Pick her and be rightly perceived as pathetically weak, don’t pick her and be proven so? Tough call for Barry and the pathetic people who have drank the kool aide.

This is all assuming McCain doesn’t do something equally as stupid.

Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed more and more political pundits and television personalities throwing around the term “Brand” when discussing the political parties and personalities.

The brand issue hit again today with the release of the new Zogby Poll showing the rapid reversal of Obama’s poll numbers.

These people generally seem to have no clue what the hell a “Brand” is. They almost universally confuse the term with reputation.

Once again, I will give a brief on what is a brand and how the brand is developed and energized.

A fully developed brand has five components:

Functions -What function does this service or product do, its core purpose. For a restaurant this would be to provide a place to eat.

Benefits -What the consumers can expect to gain from this product or service. For a restaurant this might be feeling gratified by a great steak or very healthy meal.

Associations -What links to the brand will be appealing to consumers. For a restaurant this might be A-list guests, famous chef, perfect location.

Personality -What personality does the brand reflect. For a restaurant this could include fun, exclusive, elegant, smart or romantic.

Promise –Consumer expectations or aspirations. For a restaurant this might include: a celebration, royal treatment, confirmation of status.

These components are the critical part of branding that puts the product into the consumer’s hand.

But that is just the first critical event; the next is the customer’s actual experience with the product.

I think that what has led to Obama’s downturn in polling is simply a predicted result of package versus experience.

The closer people have looked at Obama, the less attractive he seems. A look at the late primaries after the “clinging to guns and God” flap shows him being thoroughly trounced by Clinton down the stretch. Unfortunately for her, the stretch wasn’t far enough and so Obama limped into the nomination (maybe).

Democrats can’t blame the Obama campaign marketers for his troubles. The pre-position branding of Obama was masterful; it’s the actual product that it is the problem.

I like writing headlines that I know will make the little pinhead trolls around here go crazy.

In this post about Obama trying to pander to the VFW, Rooney left this comment:

How come McCain can’t even win the support of the troops in his presidential bid? First he loses the military vote to Ron Paul. Now I see on Fox News that Obama leads McCain almost 2 to 1 in campaign contributions from military members. That has to hurt you guys. Seems like the vets on this board are out of touch with the overwhelming majority of the military.

This is an excellent example of how liberals think; they don’t! They just regurgitate hyperbole and talking points. They either lack intellect or are just happily spewing lies wherever they can.

The actual headline from FoxNews was even more damning than Rooney remembered it, “Obama collects six times as much cash from military doners!”

A couple of things occurred to me when I heard the same hyperbole that Rooney apparently bought hook, line and sinker. First, in all of my time in the military I didn’t meet many people who would give a dime to any politician and secondly military members (at least the ones that are politically engaged at all) are a very safe Republican voting group.

So, I went to the actual polling data from The Boston Globe:

Through June 30, Obama had received 134 donations totaling about $61,000 to 99 totaling about $45,500 for Paul, and 26 contributions totaling less than $11,000 for McCain.

That’s a grand total of 259 total contributors! That could possibly be the single most insignificant donor block in the history of presidential politics.

To correct Rooney; 259 is not the “overwhelming majority” of a single infantry battalion. Being so “in touch” is probably why I know that.

Contributors aside, the real question of support is the vote.

As I suspected, members of the military favor McCain over Obama by a landslide 22 points!

According to Gallup, McCain leads Obama 56 percent to 34 percent, with 11 percent expressing no opinion or picking someone else.

Gallup said the poll is based on aggregated data from its daily tracking poll between Aug. 5 and Aug. 17, involving more than 11,000 registered voters, including 2,238 military veterans. Veterans are defined as those who are or have been members of the US military. Obama led McCain 46% to 43% among all registered voters during the period.

I know that Democrat talking points are often totally bogus and they like to prey upon the intellectually weak to spread them but I hope this helps out.

The entertainment on the floor of the Democrat Convention will be great theater but there is also going to be quite a show in the streets.

The Recreate 68 Alliance, which is little more than a collection of America haters, open communists, black supremacist, terrorists, convicted felons and a few unwashed hippies plan to have their own show.

An Aug. 24 “End the Occupations” rally on the west steps of the Capitol begins at 9 a.m. and a march at 10:30 a.m. kicks off from the Capitol and marches down to the Pepsi Center. Featured speakers at the rally include Ida Audeh, a Palestinian refugee; former Black Panther Kathleen Cleaver; Ward Churchill; Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. of the Prisoners of Conscience Committee; Ron Kovic, author of “Born on the Fourth of July”; and Cynthia McKinney, Green Party presidential candidate.

That’s quite a line up they have there. Very impressive.

Let’s see:
Pro-terrorist anti-Semite; check.
Domestic terrorist and black separatist; check.
Anti-America, fake Indian, fake Veteran, hack; check.
Another domestic terrorist, black separatist and convicted felon; check.
A old hippie that Oliver Stone made relevant; check.
Psychopath media whore; check.

Cynthia McKinney? Surely the Communists at Worker’s World can do better than that?

In a post on August 11th at the Huffington Post, they were pushing for Obama to select Wesley Clark as his VP and based on the following logic implied that it was a done deal.

But here’s one more interesting connection that hints ever-so-slightly toward the selection of a veteran veep, submitted by a sharp reader.
According to USA Today, the theme for Wednesday, Aug. 27 is “Securing America’s Future,” which just also happens to be the name of Gen. Wesley Clark’s political action committee. (The URL for its website is simply “SecuringAmerica.com,” but FEC filings list the full name.)

I was overcome with joy at the thought of this hack stumbling and bumbling through November and single-handedly tanking the entire Obama campaign with him.

Then today the Washington Note has news that apparently shatters my dream.

General Wesley Clark is not attending the Democratic National Convention. I was told by General Clark’s personal office in Little Rock that he would not be attending.

Clark was informed by Barack Obama’s people that there was no reason to come.

General Clark has been given no role of any kind at the convention.
Rubbing salt in the wound even more, the “theme” of Wednesday’s Democratic convention agenda is “Securing America.”

Wesley Clark’s PAC also happens to be called SECURING AMERICA.

Not just not the Vice Presidential pick but not even invited to the dance!

This was a horrible mistake. The Messiah called the Right to Life Coalition liars– even though their allegations that Obama did not support born-alive legislation are well documented. The NRLC even found an Associated Press article to back them up.

Recently published documents by Jill Stanek prove that in 2003, Barack Obama, as chairman of an IL state Senate committee, voted down a bill to protect live-born survivors of abortion:

The right hand column shows the roll call by which Obama and his Democratic colleagues killed the amended bill – the bill was virtually identical to the federal law that Obama, starting in 2004, claimed he would have supported if he’d had the opportunity. (Jill Stanek and NLRC)

Obama said “the Right to Life Coalition was lying” in an interview after his appearance at the Faith Forum last night.

You will see this in a McCain ad very soon and rightfully so.

This is not the now routine “clarification of a position”; this is a black and white lie.

Maybe this should have been another “Present” vote.

This man is a dangerous radical and has no soul whatsoever.

The cold truth? Not sure that’s in his pay grade either.
