  • Fascist Military Court Gives Bin Laden Driver Sentence

Andy McCarthy gave a fairly good accounting of the morons from the NYT in an article written to counter their Op-Ed that the military courts found this ass-wipe guilty because the McBushitler-Cheney cabal ordered them to.

    “Guilty … as ORDERED”?
Naturally, I would never suggest that the New York Times stoops to a predetermined editorial narrative with which it proceeds, and toward which it slants news coverage, without a care in the world about what facts actually happen. But today’s “Guilty as Ordered” rant about the Hamdan military commission trial has to take the cake. The first paragraph is so shamefully dishonest and misrepresentative of reality as to defy one’s necessarily low expectations of the Gray Lady:

“Now that was a real nail-biter. The court designed by the White House and its Congressional enablers to guarantee convictions of high-profile detainees in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba — using evidence obtained by torture and secret evidence as desired — has held its first trial. It produced … a guilty verdict.”

Today the military court announced the sentence.

The New York Times will no doubt cover the sentence with as much furor as it did the verdict.

Was it death by hanging? Nope.
Life in GITMO as a training aid for fascist interrogators? Nope.
Forty years of hard labor in a secret government prison? Nope.

Did the evil Nazi military court dream up something more inhuman than we could possibly imagine?

    Nope.

Bin Laden’s driver received six months.

    Chirp, chirp, chirp.

  • What is Hillary Up To?

Just when you thought Hillary had slinked off the stage:

Hillary Clinton told a group of supporters recently that she has not yet decided whether she will put her name in for a roll-call vote at the Democratic convention in Denver later this month.

The New York senator was filmed addressing the matter apparently at a California fundraiser last week. The video was posted on YouTube.

“I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views respected. And I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified, because I know from just what I’m hearing that there is just this incredible pent up desire,” Clinton said in the video, after being asked by a supporter if she’d consider putting her name in for the nomination.

“And I think people want to feel like ‘Okay, it’s a catharsis, we’re here, we did it,’ and then everybody get behind Senator Obama. … No decisions have been made.”

Clinton said she was trying to work out the issue with the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Such a vote would presumably allow her remaining delegates to throw their symbolic support behind Clinton on the convention floor.

“I could be wrong, but the best way I think is to have a strategy where my delegates feel that they have a role and that their legitimacy has been validated,” Clinton said.

What she’s up to is a rhetorical question obviously.

The Clinton machine is watching the polls carefully. They know that Obama should be up 12 points right now and anticipating another 4-6 point bounce after the convention.

More importantly, Clinton realizes the likely “Bradley Effect” that these polls are showing. Bottom line; Obama needs at least an 8 point lead on election day to win in a squeaker and that’s not looking very likely at this point.

Hillary needs to cut Obama off at the knees without being too obvious about it.

This postures her for another run in 2012.

The real fun will be the Stalin-esqe Purge of the Democrat party that Clinton will lead.

In any case, the childish antics that Democrats are notorious for will be in full bloom in Denver.

Barack Obama throttled Hillary Clinton in the Georgia primary by two to one. This beat down inspired democrat Vernon Jones to run in the Democrat senate primary as a Barry-Clone.

That didn’t work out so well for Vernon.

Politicians grabbing Barack Obama’s coattails should take note: In the Georgia democratic Senatorial primary runoff held yesterday, Jim Martin defeated Vernon Jones by a 60% to 40%. Martin will now face the Republican senior Senator from Georgia, Saxby Chambliss, in November’s election. This doesn’t seem to bode well for Obama’s presidential quest. Jones’s campaign hoped to emulate Obama’s impressive primary victory in Georgia (he defeated Senator Hillary Clinton in Georgia, 66.4% to 31.1%), but now he’s failed to even make it to November’s ballot.

In fact, Jones distributed campaign paraphernalia consisting of a picture of himself and Obama, with the words “Yes We Can!” prominently scrawled underneath the photographs….

Reading that reminded of a recent article that I read about Obama running through money like crap through a goose. What struck me then was that he was spending money in places where he has zero chance of winning, like Texas.

The stories of Obama spending all over creation while McCain seems focused on battle ground states are still out there.

    This one got my attention:

Obama is outspending McCain in: Florida, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana, New Hampshire, and North Dakota.

What’s interesting here is that McCain is outspending Obama in almost all the “traditional swing states.” Most of the states Obama is outspending McCain in are states that most figured wouldn’t even be in play this year — Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana, and North Dakota.

It’s also interesting to see that McCain has spent NOTHING in Florida while Obama has spent more there than anywhere else.

When you are spending millions against zero and get results like this, a person has to wonder.

    Georgia: McCain +11
    Florida McCain +6

  • Burn in Hell Jose

    tx-dontmess.jpg

Jose Medellin’s sorry excuse for a life was finally terminated tonight. It was not popular in many parts of the world (Texas excluded).

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The US Supreme Court has rejected a last-ditch appeal by a Mexican muderer on Texas death row, paving the way for him to be put to death despite a world court order for a stay of execution.

His execution would be in defiance of an order from the International Court of Justice, which asked the United States last month to stay the executions of five Mexican nationals on death row, including Medellin. In 2004, the court told US authorities to review the sentences of 51 Mexicans facing execution.

Texas basically told the International Court of Justice to F**k off and that is a good thing.

Does the death penalty deter crime? There is certainly tons of evidence to suggest that it doesn’t.

But does anyone want to debate whether Jose Medellin will ever kill again?

  • al Qaeda Bitch Gut-Shot and Extradited

It is very good news that this particular spoonful of scum is in custody but I think it would have been better if she were in fact killed on the spot.

The day after her arrest by Afghani authorities on July 17th, Siddiqui was shot twice in the torso, US officials said, when she grabbed a US soldier’s M-4 Carbine and attempted to shoot another officer as a team of US soldiers and FBI agents prepared to question her. A US interpreter threw off her aim when he pushed the gun. She then was shot twice with a .9 millimeter [SIC] handgun, authorities said. According to the US Government, despite her wounds, she shouted that she “wanted to kill Americans,” and struggled with her captors before they subdued her.

There is a lot of talk about the fact that she was educated in America at MIT and that she is married to the nephew of a big time al Qeada leader.

But there are a few more lessons to take from this:

Good work by the Afghani police.
The bonehead who lost control of his M4 needs some re-training.
Gut-shooting a perp at close range is piss-poor pistoleering.
Let’s re-start that handgun “knock down power” argument again.
Gotta wonder if she would have kept resisting with two gaping .45 holes?

Maybe the Americans just wanted to come home early?

With her newly discovered habeus corpus rights, these gentlemen will no doubt be subpoenaed as witnesses.

  • Okay, Can we now Agree that it has become Pathological?

    Ace has the story here.

In a dramatic reversal of policy, Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama on Saturday told supporters on the Space Coast he no longer favors slashing NASA’s budget, declaring that the United States “cannot cede our leadership in space.”

… Until Saturday, Obama had said he wanted to delay the Constellation man-on-the-moon program for five years to free up money for education programs.

… That position had been “reported” on Obama’s official campaign Web site until it was removed Saturday. The campaign of Republican rival John McCain was quick to point that out, declaring in a news release, “Barack Obama once again demonstrated that his words really don’t matter.”

This man will say anything to pander.

The fact that his position changed to pander to a specific group and its amazing disappearance from his own website the next day is very telling of the young charlatan.

More telling is the absolute ignorance of liberals who buy his bullshit, hook, line and sinker.

Dale Ketcham, director of the University of Central Florida’s Space Research and Technology Institute who has been working with members of Congress to get the candidates to talk about space, called Obama’s switch “an important move” to making space an electoral issue.

“It was a good day for Obama and a good day for the Space Coast,” Ketcham said.

I don’t know Mr. Ketcham but I think it’s safe to say that he is a 100% total kool-aide drinking moron.

  • Muslim Woman in Portland Demands Muslim Only Swimming Time in Public Pools

    Gateway Pundit has the story:

Muslim Lul Abdulle is suing Portland for not providing private women-only swim times. CBN News and Religion of Peace reported:

It’s a growing conflict between Western society and Islamic culture in America.

A Muslim woman in Oregon has petitioned the city-run pools to provide women-only swim times.

Lul Abdulle’s Islamic beliefs prohibit her from swimming in the presence of men.

The Somali Women’s Association wants Portland to provide after-hours swim times and provide female lifeguards.

But the city says that would discriminate against men and other religions.

“We can’t discriminate against religion; the other is we can’t discriminate in favor of religion,” Portland City Attorney Harry Auerbach said.

“It would essentially violate the rights of male lifeguards if we only hired female lifeguards for certain duty,” he added.

The Muslim woman says everyone should have the right to exercise and good health.

Here’s some advice Ms. Abdulle; STFU! Seriously, just thank the pedophile that you worship that you were fortunate enough to have witnessed running water and electricity.

Your modesty restrictions are not imposed by the City of Portland; they are imposed by the 7th century religion that you choose to blindly follow. So, here’s the solution.

Tell the Mosque to build you a women’s only pool. If it’s that important to them, they will do so immediately. If it’s not that important to them, it sure as hell ain’t that important to most Americans.

Ever saw a city sponsored Amish pool? I didn’t think so.

Having said all of this; the liberals in Portland will cave.

  • DailyKos and the Magic 8-Ball

I saw this bit of prophesy over at the Kos Kids today. It struck me as more insightful than the usual cannabis-induced, immature rant that one usually finds over there.

A choice between a milquetoast successor to a disgraced imperial president and a man running on hope and a smile, an economy reeling from the shock of rising oil prices, stark choices on a growing budget deficit, a military in transition after years of adventurism abroad, and a new Democratic majority in Congress still dealing with the abuses of the previous administration. Devilstower says we’ve seen 2008 before — in 1976.

The early comparisons between McCain and Ford are silly but not as silly as those between Bush and Nixon. But that’s not what struck me.

This ass-clown is comparing Barack Obama to Jimmy Carter as if it’s a good thing.

I don’t disagree that Obama would be a very similar president but can any serious student of history possibly think that is a good thing?

Isn’t this like Republicans hoping that John McCain will be the next Herbert Hoover?
