  • Let the Frenzy Begin

Turns out that Governor Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter Bristol is in fact pregnant.

The Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has announced that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Palin’s five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.

“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,” the Palins’ statement said.

“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,” the Palins said.

The Palins asked the news media to respect the young couple’s privacy.

The Palins are about a nanosecond from seeing what the news media calls “respect”.

    Jonn added: Michelle Malkin makes a good point;

One ticket sees this as a blessing. The other sees it as a curse. Could the core differences between the two be any starker?

  • This is the Difference Between a Movement and a Cult

I saw this at The Corner but it needs a bit more commentary I believe.

Hurricane Gustav is the fault of John McCain’s VP pick Sarah Palin.

Extremist conservatives like Sarah Palin have ignored environmental warnings about coastal erosion, climate change and the importance of mangroves and have tried to stop the progress that would halt unnatural hurricane events like this.

Okay kooks, listen up, this is getting out of control. It is true that Governor Palin hasn’t drunk the Kool Aide of Al Gore and the other nutjobs preaching this communist drivel.

It’s fair to criticize her for her position on drilling in ANWR. I don’t know her position on Mangroves but it’s probably fairly shallow given she is from Alaska.

But here is where I take exception:

“tried to stop the progress that would halt unnatural hurricane events like this”

This statement is far beyond ill-informed stupidity; this is pure insanity!

There is not one damn thing humans can do to stop hurricanes. To think there is the height of selling one’s soul to the idiotic hyperbole of the these wackos.

If Sarah Palin caused Gustav, just who in the hell “caused” the most deadly hurricane in US history!? It wasn’t George Bush you bunch of mouth breathing imbeciles. Hint: Galveston, Texas 1900.

I am not saying that every Democrat is an idiot but I am saying that voting Democrat (at any level) further empowers this army of morons.

  • How Were the VP Nominees Selected?

I think it would be a great understatement to say that this is an unusual campaign season. McCain was never the favorite of conservatives (like me) but Obama (the confirmed socialist) was too scary to risk getting into office. The Vice President selections for each was poised to be more important than any time in recent history.

Both selections for Vice Presidential nominee were somewhat surprising and neither was made totally by the candidate.

Putin chosen Biden and the Politico chose Palin (sort of).

Here’s the logic. Obama was glaringly weak in every conceivable presidential category; foreign policy, military, executive, experience, economics, trade, etc…This actually wasn’t all bad because it made almost any selection help the ticket. This looked particularly good for young governors with some executive and economic bona fides.

But then Putin decided to remind the American people that the world is still a dangerous place and amateurs can’t be trusted to handle dangerous foreign policy.

Other than being chairman of a committee, I still don’t see what Biden brought. He was wrong on the Cold War, the 1st Gulf War, the War on Terror, Iran, etc… In any case, Obama had to appear serious and get some experience on the ticket; and 35 years in the same job is certainly that.

With Biden on the ticket all McCain needed was someone with executive experience and strong economic credentials. Mitt Romney was out campaigning for McCain with both attributes and chewing at the bit to debate the gaffe prone Biden. Romney also had the added benefit of strong Mormon support in the west and putting Michigan in play.

But then The Politico had a tape of John McCain dodging a question about how many homes he owns. The media and left jumped on it and the seeds of a class warfare avalanche were being sown. When McCain counted Romney’s houses, Mitt was disqualified. Nothing gets punished in America these days more than success.

Without Mr. Obvious and the Republican base threatening a revolt if he chose a pro-abortion Ridge or Leiberman, McCain needed to make a big splash with a youthful surprise pick.

In my mind that left him with two rising stars Palin and Jindal. Jindal has more experience and is a solid conservative governor but had no natural cover from an attack dog like Biden. Palin’s experience is fairly shallow but she is a chief executive and most importantly she’s a she.

I don’t think Palin will lock up the female vote for McCain in spite of initial buzz. I do however think that Biden with lock up the female vote…for McCain.

Biden’s very loose relationship with facts and his constant habit of exaggeration is not what makes him an effective debater. What makes him effective is that at his core he is a condescending prick.

He has been on Meet The Press more than Tim Russert himself. He constantly interrupts people, insults people, impugns their integrity and attacks the person instead of the issue.

That Scorched Earth attack technique may have worked against a young man like Bobby Jindal; it won’t against Sarah Palin.

    Two words: RICK LAZIO

  • This IS NOT Parody!

The somewhat less than conservative Huffington Post has the details.

Now that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has chosen his running mate, it’s time for him to concentrate on another important selection: family dog. The American Kennel Club® (AKC) announced today that the public has elected a Poodle as their breed of choice for the Obama family.

The AKC launched its poll to find a breed for Obama (www.presidentialpup.com) after reports that – win or lose – the Obamas promised their two daughters a dog after the presidential election. More than 42,000 people cast their vote over the seven-week campaign. The Poodle clinched the nomination after the breed battled it out with the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier in a race almost as tight as Clinton and Obama’s run for the Democratic nomination for president. The Poodle won by a (dog) hair, with just a few hundred votes separating the top two contenders.

Do we really want a poodle in the White House?

  • Obama Camp Keeping it Classy on Palin Selection

Remember the commercial that John McCain ran last night congratulating Senator Obama on his historic nomination as the Democrat Presidential candidate?

“Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America,” McCain says, looking directly into the camera. “Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations.”

“How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day,” McCain says, referring to the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” address in Washington. “Tomorrow, we’ll be back at it. But tonight senator, job well done.”

If you were stupid enough to expect any class from the Socialists surrounding Barry, you will be disappointed.

For its part, the Obama campaign was dismissive of the selection.

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,” Bill Burton, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, said in a statement.

“Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the change we need, it’s just more of the same.”

    This can only get better.

PS: She calls herself a “hockey mom” which probably seals the deal for Jonn.

  • McCain’s VP

I wonder if I’m the only one wishing Elizabeth Dole was a few years younger?

  • Let’s Not Forget Biden’s “Condition”

Apparently Joe Biden avoided service in Vietnam a couple of times. First was the natural college deferment but by the time it came around again, he had developed adult asthma (apparently pretty acute).

I don’t care if Biden went to Vietnam or not but hopefully this little bit of information will shut up the retards constantly whining about Dick Cheney’s deferments and that silly boil on Rush Limbaugh’s ass!

So, naturally I looked up the common symptoms of acute adult asthma.

Wheezing, shortness of breath, inability to speak…

What!? Inability to speak? Wow, that must have been some serious recovery!

  • Obama’s Perfect Mate?

Joe Biden will certainly provide some entertainment before this thing is over but he does address Obama’s glaring weakness in Foreign Relations experience, which is of course, absolutely zero.

Then again Obama’s glaring weaknesses are numerous. The perfect candidate is very difficult to find. For instance, what governors gain in executive experience is often countered by a lack of foreign policy experience.

    What Barack Obama lacks:

EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE – Zero (other than funneling money to Tony Rezco) .
    MILITARY EXPERIENCE – Zero
FOREIGN POLICY CREDENTIALS – Zero (Grade school Indonesia aside)
LAW ENFORCEMENT / JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE – Zero
BUSINESS / ECONOMIC ACUMEN – Zero (other than selling books)
INTERNATIONAL TRADE – Zero (his advisors told the Canadians otherwise)
    NATIONAL SECURITY – Zero

    What Barack Obama has:

    ARTICULATE
    CLEAN
    … and drum roll please…
    AFRICAN AMERICAN

That is not the opinion of this blog (sometimes called racist).

That’s the opinion of Senator Joseph Biden (D-DE) and current Obama Vice Presidential running mate.

Jonn added: According to Kos and MSNBC, Biden’s brand of racism is “refreshing” and “an asset” as reported by Ace of Spades and Allahpundit.
