  • Keeping with Jonn’s License Plate Theme

The Washington Post has released some details of latest polling; and it is not good for Barry. Apparently the White Women ain’t buying Mr. hopey-changey.

Many of McCain’s gains on these questions come from shifting support among white women. That group now gives McCain a 10-point advantage on who can deal best with the economy; before the Democratic convention, Obama held a 12-point edge. On Iraq, the two were tied among white women in late August, but McCain now has a 22-point advantage. There were similarly large shifts in whom the group favored on social issues, international affairs, energy, values and consistency in issues positions.

Fox News also just reported that McCain is opening offices in California!

He’s currently down 12 points in California and of course McCain knows that. Makes you wonder what else he knows?

  • Brace Yourself Folks, the Obamatrons are about to Explode!

Obama got a “bounce” out of his light-bending, LGBT favoring convention but how about this new shocker from Gallup!

WASHINGTON — The Republican National Convention has given John McCain and his party a significant boost, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken over the weekend shows, as running mate Sarah Palin helps close an “enthusiasm gap” that has dogged the GOP all year.

McCain leads Democrat Barack Obama by 50%-46% among registered voters, the Republican’s biggest advantage since January and a turnaround from the USA TODAY poll taken just before the convention opened in St. Paul. Then, he lagged by 7 percentage points.

That’s an eleven point swing among “registered” voters. In a far more relevant group, it is 15 points among “likely” voters!

If other polls due out in the next couple of days validate this one (and they will), the Obama camp will go into full attack mode. They will have no choice; a swing of this magnitude is catastrophic.

If the Obama camp has an October surprise, expect it well before October. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, this swing in polls and particularly in swing states will need to be addressed quickly and secondly, perhaps more importantly, is the Hillary factor.

I can assure you that if a campaign ending bomb is to be found in Obama’s past, Hillary has known about it for some time. Hillary couldn’t politically afford to de-rail Obama openly but his election would kill her chances of ever getting the prize.

This is why Obama has found himself in a two front attack. The McCain camp is throttling him over his weaker than dishwater resume leaving Obama to attack the McCain VP for the same thing and only reinforcing the point that he has no experience. He can’t attack Palin as an insider and she is certainly not a product of the most corrupt political machine in America (which Obama is).

The other problem is Hillary. Her “campaigning” for him has been lukewarm at best and Bill has been nothing less than indignant.

Not selecting Hillary was bad but not even vetting her was a colossal mistake because this takes the Attorney General or Supreme Court promise out of play.

Obama will have to show his hand very soon and Hillary likely holds the cards that McCain doesn’t have to bargain for.

Obama may need to find a “dead woman or live boy” smoking gun to counter this trend.
The next few weeks will be interesting indeed.

  • Why Obama Can’t/Won’t Release his College Grades

A minor buzz has started over Obama’s refusal to release his grades from his undergraduate studies in college. This seems very strange to me. We know that he was president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated Cum Laude from Harvard Law; so who really cares about his undergraduate grades?

I’m not writing this because I care (because I don’t) but rather the strange reaction from the Obama camp to refuse to release the grades.

This could be a ploy by Axlerod and if so, a good one. We are all anticipating an “October Surprise” from one or both parties. If Axlerod has Obama’s grades and they are stellar, allowing the media to chase a shadow until he can come out and squash the rumor attack would be brilliant.

That’s likely the case isn’t it? I mean, let’s be honest; we know he got accepted into Harvard law so his undergrad grades had to be top-notch right? Otherwise, how in the hell would a kid with no history of Harvard grad relatives (the infamous legacy program) ever get through the gate?

Of course there is one other way for a mediocre student to get into Harvard…political connections.

Investors Business Daily looked into Mr. Obama’s unlikely and very interesting road to Harvard.

Election ’08: Does Barack Obama owe his meteoric rise to an Israeli-hating adviser to a Saudi billionaire? Why did a race-baiting mentor to the Black Panthers favor this yet unknown community organizer?

In her stunning national political debut as the Republican candidate for vice president, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin described Obama as a man who had written two memoirs but no significant laws or reforms. So how did this unaccomplished community organizer rise to fame and fortune? He had some interesting help.

Read the whole article; it is certainly thought provoking. It sure raises the issue of past associations that have helped the young senator along his meteoric climb. The interesting part was the quotes from Percy Sutton, a long time Democrat operative and part of the New York City political machine.

I admit that I was very curious how a political player like Sutton (Malcom X’s former attorney) could have the slightest interest in a “community organizer” from Chicago.

He told NY1 reporter Dominic Carter on “Inside City Hall” that he was introduced to Obama by a friend raising money for him. The friend asked Sutton to write a letter in support of Obama’s application to Harvard law school.

“The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas,” Sutton said. “He is the principal adviser to one of the world’s richest men. He told me about Obama.”

Sutton recalled that al-Mansour said, “There is a young man that has applied to Harvard. I know that you have a few friends up there because you used to go up there to speak. Would you please write a letter in support of him?” Sutton did.

The meat is “a friend raising money for him…”

Mr. al-Mansour was representing the Saudi Royal family and he was raising money for Barack Obama’s venture into Harvard? It would be beyond absurd to suggest that their relationship was any passing matter.

I will let others ask the huge questions like:
Why would an advisor to the Saudis “raise money” for Obama?
How deep is Obama’s relationship with this race baiting, anti Semite?
Is there a radical racists left that hasn’t got ties to Obama?

These are interesting questions and I’m sure the right side of the blogosphere will dig deeper into these intrigues.

Here’s a much simpler question that I have for Obama.

Could you please release copies of the college loans that hampered you and Michelle for years as you have stated were some burdensome?

“Barack and I were in that position. Up until a few years ago, we were struggling to figure out how we would save for our kids.”

“The only reason we’re not in that position is that Barack wrote two best-selling books,” she explained. “It was like Jack and his magic beans.”

His first book, Dreams from my father, was published in 1996 and outside of academic circles didn’t fly off the shelf. It was re-released in 2004 after his stirring speech at the Democrat Nation Convention. It became an overnight sensation and quickly became a best seller.

Why would anybody being sponsored by the likes of Percy Sutton and an advisor to the Saudi Royal family need a college loan?

  • Any Lefties Want to Try to Defend this Act of Dumb-Assery?

This is exactly why I never attack men who are attracted to big boobs.

While pandering to a mouth-breathing gathering of imbeciles today, Barry attacked Sarah Palin for……….hang on, it’s worth the anticipation…………..earmarks!

HotAir has the details but here is the meat.

“I know the governor of Alaska has been, you know, saying she is change. And that is great. She is a skillful politician. But when you been taking all these earmarks when it is convenient and then suddenly you are the champion anti-earmark person. That is not change, come on. I mean, words mean something. You can’t just make stuff up. You can’t just make stuff up. We have a choice to make and the choice is clear.”

You can’t just make stuff up is the money part of this ass clown’s quote. The McCain camp quickly saw a 65 MPH fastball right down the middle, waist high (another unsolicited baseball analogy) and launched it into another time zone.

Barack Obama has requested the equivalent of one million dollars in new pork barrel spending for every working day he’s been in the U.S Senate, while John McCain has never once asked for an earmark, and Governor Palin has vetoed hundreds of millions in government spending including killing the infamous “bridge to nowhere”. Just like so many other issues Barack Obama is all talk, has no record to back it up and isn’t ready to make change. — Tucker Bounds, spokesman McCain-Palin 2008

In 143 days Barry has tallied a cool $1 million a day in pork, yet McCain has never earmarked a dime in 26 years!

Oh and Barry, you’re supposed to be campaigning against McCain, not his number two; that what your idiotic judgment of a selection for VP is for.

More important than the magnitude of the fleecing is where Barry was sending your money. Naturally, I am not shocked to discover that a few million went to his wife’s employer who naturally doubled her pay overnight. Of course he also procured a few hundred thousand more dollars from you to support those famous community organizers from which he was born; the greatest single voter fraud organization in America; ACORN.

Anyone pulling a lever for this idiot is either a racist or a dumb ass themselves.

  • Yeah, it was THAT Good!

Leading off in the bottom of the ninth, Pittsburgh Pirate second baseman Bill Mazeroski hit a home run over the left-field wall to win the World Series against the New York Yankees. It was the first time a home run had ever ended a World Series. According to reports, Ted Szafranski, 13, caught the ball but returned it to Mazeroski after the game in exchange for two cases of beer. The ball has since been placed in the Hall of Fame.

  • Fred Thompson Rocked

I believe that was the best convention speech I ever heard.

I’ll try to post the video later. Save it and show it to your children. Yeah, it’s that important.

  • Yet another Reason to Despise the UN

Buried in an article primarily about poppy production in Afghanistan by the International Herald are the “findings” of a recent UN investigation.

The United Nations said Tuesday that it had found “convincing evidence” that U.S. coalition troops and Afghan forces killed some 90 civilians, including 60 children, in airstrikes in western Afghanistan.

The UN said it based its findings solely on the testimony of villagers and meetings with Afghan officials, and did not provide photos or evidence that its investigators saw any graves.

U.S.-led coalition troops, supporting Afghan commandos during the raid, said they believe that 25 militants, including a Taliban commander, and five civilians were killed during the raid Friday in the village of Azizabad, in Herat Province. The coalition commander in the country has ordered an investigation.

So, just what the hell is the UN’s idea of “convincing evidence”? Apparently pure hearsay; no photos, no graves, just testimony.

Some have criticized this blind validation based on the testimony of people who may be either intimidated or even in collusion with the Taliban. That is entirely possible but there is likely a better explanation for the actions of both the Village Officials and the UN investigators.

The Village officials could likely be motivated by the historical standard of money.

Accidents happen and on a battlefield accidents can be really bad. Locals in most battle areas are more than willing to accept money to help assuage their grief; and more grief is met by more money.

The UN simply wants America to be hated. It really is that simple.

  • What right looks like

It’s still a very dangerous storm and anything can happen but in spite of the breathless, doom and hype reporting, Jindal appears rock solid.

Haven’t heard anything out of Ray Nagin all day; that’s probably a good thing.
