Marines come running to help after fire breaks out at DC senior building

Marines stationed at The Marine Barracks at 8th & I in Washington, D.C., ran to the smoke and fire at a senior citizen facility yesterday. There they assisted local EMS to evacuate the burning structure. Bravo Zulu, Marines, simply outstanding.

“Marines rushed into the building to rescue those who needed assistance and evacuated residents to the Marine Barracks Washington Annex where they were checked and treated for any injuries and sheltered until their loved ones arrived,” Marine Barracks Washington 8th & I said in a statement on Facebook.

  • FBI: Brett Kavanaugh ‘Allegation Does Not Involve Any Potential Federal Crime’

    Kavanaugh

The sexual assault accusation that Senator Feinstein sat on all summer has had it’s intended effect on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, Democrat outrage. The event allegedly occurred at a party, where a drunken 17 year old Kavanaugh sexually assaulted the now Professor Ford.

Kavanaugh has unequivocally denied the charge. Some 60 people who knew him from his high school days, including a woman who dated him months after the alleged event occurred, to the present have signed a document vouching for his character and the respect he showed to all.

Ford has stated she will not testify to the Senate Judicial Committee until the FBI completes a thorough investigation.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) said Monday that the FBI will not investigate the sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

    Stalemate?

Meanwhile, the Dems are acting pretty much as they were during the hearing.

After refusing to participate in a phone call with Kavanaugh set up by Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Democrats on the Judiciary Committee called on the FBI to investigate high school-era allegations against Kavanaugh.

“In view of the enormity and seriousness of these allegations, a staff-only phone call behind closed doors is unacceptable and Democratic staff will not participate,” Feinstein said in a statement on Monday.

She added that the FBI “has the resources and know-how to conduct an objective, independent evaluation of these sensitive allegations with appropriately trained investigators.”

Senate Minority Leader Schumer (D-NY) is also calling for an FBI investigation.

The FBI states, “Not our job.”

The DOJ, however, told a reporter for the far-left Politico, “The allegation does not involve any potential federal crime.”

Furthermore, the Associated Press reports that in a statement, the DOJ said late Monday that “it’s not the job of the FBI to judge the significance or the credibility of an accusation.”

Nevertheless, Democrats continue to call for the FBI to investigate in the hopes it will put an indefinite hold on the vote for Kavanaugh’s nomination, which has already been postponed.

Dem tactic- If they can’t halt the nomination, delay it. If they can’t delay it, besmirch the name of the nominee. This is their last “at bat.”

  • Trump Orders Declassification of Russia Investigation Records

    putin

Today President Donald Trump ordered the declassification of records surrounding the Russia investigation. Citing “reasons of transparency” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced the president’s decision, confirming the action.

Trump ordered the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to declassify select parts of the FISA court application to spy on his former campaign surrogate Carter Page during the 2016 election.

Trump also ordered that FBI interviews with Bruce Ohr be released surrounding the ongoing Russia investigation as well as all text messages relating to the Russia investigation from former FBI Director James Comey, Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

The volume of unclassified information will throw the Russian investigation into chaos as the motivations for the investigation into Trump campaign collusion will likely be revealed. Exactly as intended.

Citing a Fox News report about Page’s testimony, Trump commented on the investigation on Twitter on Monday, that there was no evidence of collusion before the Mueller appointment.

“The case should never have been allowed to be brought,” Trump added. “It is a totally illegal Witch Hunt!”

“Click” look at all the roaches running from the light. We may “Live in interesting times” as the Chinese curse goes, but damn this will be fun to watch.

  • Coast Guard Mostly Saves Very Stupid People, Study Finds

    Coast Guard

When it comes to Search and Rescue (SAR) our Coast Guard is world class. But after a while, it must get pretty repetitive saving people suffering from self-inflicted wounds. So a study was conducted, with some surprising results.

WASHINGTON, DC — Nearly 83 percent of mariner rescues since 1960 involved unrelentingly stupid behaviors and/or people, according to a recent study by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Though the service treats all search and rescue situations equally, most on-scene commanders will privately admit that a majority of the time “it was just some dumb bastard with no concern for personal safety,” according to the study’s authors.

“These statistics are unthinkable,” said Coast Guard spokesperson Lt. Carla Willmington. “Our service prides itself on response time, SAR organization, and comprehensive rescue pattern analysis. But it’s tough to stay on task when the bulk of these cases involve people paralyzed from the neck up. ”

  • Brunswick County sheriff discusses crime during Hurricane Florence

    loot shoot

Never fails, some low thugs take advantage of other people’s distress and go in, looking for whatever they can grab. If anyone needs a reason for the Second Amendment, look no farther than the breakdown of law during and after a catastrophic event. Trees and power lines down, flooded roads, all make for a thief’s holiday, because EMS and LEOs simply can’t get to where they are acting out. And it’s already starting in North Carolina.

Evacuations prompted by Hurricane Florence have left homes and businesses empty and vulnerable and some people are allegedly taking advantage of the situation.

The sheriff’s office got a call about suspicious people on the south end of the county and arrested them for breaking into cars.

Later on the north end of the county, they got a report of a business break-in and arrested one person after a short chase.

Sheriff Ingram says while there is that criminal element out there looking to take advantage, the Sheriff’s Office is working hard to stop that from happening.

Even in normal times, police are minutes away. In times of duress, the LEOs/EMS who can get to you will, but it may be days. Protect what is yours with what you have.

  • McRaven, former SOCOM head, resigns from Pentagon board following Trump criticism

    mcraven

Talk about a flaming crash and burn. He’s got a choice gig at a pricey Defense think tank, and in a fit of, what, stupid?, he penned a scathing op-ed at the Washington Post, slamming President Trump. To no surprise, a few days later and he’s out the door, suffering from self-inflicted wounds.

McRaven resigned from the Defense Innovation Board, a group of technology leaders and innovators tasked with advising the secretary of defense on pertinent issues, on Aug. 20, four days after he posted a scathing op-ed in the Washington Post calling out Trump for revoking the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan.

“Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation,” McRaven wrote to Trump in the Post. “If you think for a moment that your McCarthy-era tactics will suppress the voices of criticism, you are sadly mistaken. The criticism will continue until you become the leader we prayed you would be.”

McRaven’s photo has been removed from the DIB website, and Lt. Col. Michelle Baldanza, a Pentagon spokeswoman, confirmed that McRaven resigned from his post on the DIB. She added that “The Department appreciates his service and contribution on the board.”

Never met the man, all I know of him was what I viewed in media. I have problems with his comments, especially the “..divided us as a nation..” which came about some eight years before Trump’s election. A Four-Star in the Obama administration? That alone smacks of Perfumed Prince syndrome.
