Update on Ft. Meade Incursion

ft meade

The Military Times reports two of the three people occupying a sport-utility vehicle that was fired on and halted as it attempted to gain access to the National Security Agency (NSA) have been released. The third party was turned over to the Howard County Sheriff’s office for failing to make child support payments. Investigators believe the incident occurred when the vehicle made a wrong turn and wound up at the NSA’s gate.

“The FBI continues to believe that yesterday’s encounter was an isolated incident,” Fitz said in a statement. “Our investigation continues and we do not see a nexus to terrorism.”

The unauthorized vehicle’s arrival at the NSA’s campus prompted shots to be fired at the vehicle Wednesday morning. The driver was hospitalized, though NSA and FBI officials say they don’t believe any injuries were caused by bullets.

Three guys getting turned around after a long night, no doubt. I can sympathize to a certain extent, but just damn! The Lord favors drunks and fools, and these guys are blessed.

The NSA guards were just giving them directions.

A good Yosemite Sam reference. Well done.

Good to see that the FBI is following up on something. As for the windshield shots, that’s a helluva penalty for making a wrong turn. I hope that this doesn’t give my wife any ideas the next time one of my famous ‘shortcuts’ doesn’t quite work out.

  4. According to the Associated Press;

A passenger in a vehicle that was fired upon outside the National Security Agency campus says the unlicensed teen driver made a wrong turn, panicked and hit the gas.

Passenger Javonte Alhajie Brown told The Washington Post Friday that the 17-year-old was following GPS directions to a friend’s house in Maryland, but he turned onto a restricted-access road that leads to the installation at Fort Meade.

Brown said he screamed at his friend and asked, “Why aren’t you stopping?’”

With a name like that, it reinforces my original thought that these were BLM types out of Baltimore or PG County…

        Is ‘Alhajie’ pronounced like ‘Al-Hadji’?

If so, that makes it even better.

If by “better” you mean “shake my head WTF” then yep, it’s better.

            Shack.

            That’s exactly what I meant.

I think you’re onto something…maybe his crack-addled EBT momma was trying for something heroically Islamic such as “Al-Baltimori” but since that spelling eluded her, collapsed into a simple Haj name fail…wouldn’t matter anyway, dipshit likely can’t read above 8th grade level and the Koran requires a bit more than that…then again, he’ll be getting his radical “Islam for Dummies” training in Maryland’s prison system, if not for this incident, than others he’ll be involved in.

They print Mr. Brown’s name only, as the other two are still considered minors. Driving unlicensed at 0700 the wrong way into a high security military installation makes me think their chances of longevity are limited. And I’m OK with that.

They were on their way to school or bible study I’m sure.

    Javonte Alhajie Brown

    — sigh —

    Claw?

A spin of the Whiz Wheel says:

      Javonte Alhajie Brown (DAM*) 44×4 = 176

The first thing I do when I’m lost or make a wrong turn is to slam the gas pedal and go towards people with guns aimed at me.

    Fake news.

    From an article at ABC:

“They could see the driver was young and was panicking,” Javonte Brown said. “They could see the passengers were clearly asleep. They could tell we were not a threat.”

No, dumbass. They saw a vehicle try to force its way onto a secure facility. That makes the cops really interested in you because now you are a threat.

    1. 1610desig

Exactly…just some more dindus doing what they do best

    2. Scrappy

Or just maybe the passengers appeared dead and that the driver was on a manic mission.

Yeeeeeeah. Color me sceptical, I’m not believing the “no threat” pablum. I’d want to see faces, names, and some background on these dingi (plural of dingus).
I think this was a muzzie “test run”, and it failed………for now.

On the other hand, no sub-groupings of humans are immune from stupid. (Pigment groups or belief groups)

And since any beat cop could fill this thread with “driving while stupid” stories, I am inclined to dismiss this as DWS.

Why, yes! The Lord does favor those with a receptive ear and heart

Even the least can claim their inheritance, merely by acceptance.

Thank God that the requirement for salvation has no greater standards.

This happens more often than not. Waxes and wanes as it gains local coverage as people take the wrong exit and end up at the NSA gate, gets coverage, and then it subsides for awhile, then picks up again.

And, yes, there are signs stating that it’s an NSA exit, but, there’s some other non-NSA exits in proximity, so if you aren’t paying strict attention to GPS, it’s very easy to take the NSA exit.

It’s a real PITA too as if you do take the NSA exit, you can’t just turn-around. You have to go up to the gate, get out, they detain you while they check your car, id, etc. Then you can turn around.

They should redo the entire on/off ramp strategy there. So that there is a combined public/secure ramp and one has the ability to exit or take an alternate route to get back on the highway. The way the CIA does it, you can take that exit and get off if need be without getting to the gate.

      What fun would that be?
