Late last year we wrote about Marquie Little, a Black sailor who tore his rack up aboard the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier and claimed in social media that he was the victim of a racist attack. The Navy said that they determined that Little had staged the incident for some reason.

The 27-year-old sailor was kicked out of the Navy in recent weeks in connection to the incident, yet he still maintains he did nothing wrong. Little told Navy Times this week he felt âa proper investigation wasnât conducted.â
Little agreed at one point to take a lie detector test, which investigators did not actually conduct, and provide a handwriting sample to compare to the racist scrawls, according to the investigation.
âAs for the handwriting analysis, an informal review of writing samples was conducted by investigators from the ship and NCIS,â said Cmdr. Dave Hecht, spokesman for Naval Air Force Atlantic, or AIRLANT. âThat review found there were similarities between the graffiti and the handwriting sample provided by the Sailor.â
Little said this week that officials told him they did not have the manpower to give him a lie detector test and full handwriting analysis.
He was separated from the Navy recently on charges of making a false statement, destruction of government property and disorderly conduct in connection to the vandalism, Hecht said.

The last thing the Navy needed was to be shown as unsympathetic to those who are the subject of racism. I believe the Navy got it right. They HAD to get it right or suffer withering criticism. Hell, they got it right and will still face withering criticism.

Had his allegations proven true, I would have been for the harshest penalty provided by the UCMJ for those found guilty. Nothing less than a bad paper discharge for those found guilty had the investigation taken the investigators in that direction.
A very big part of “Getting it right” as far as dealing with problems of racism is slamming the nuts out of those who make fake allegations. Same-Same with sexual assault/ harassment.

The article says he had gotten out of a previous deployment by claiming some sort of a custody battle trial and was pulling the same shit again up until he couldn’t prove that he had to go to court, hence the racisssss routine.
Well, he won’t have to worry about missing movement ever again.

Don’t knock BCs, Carlton. I’m back to wearing them when I had to have tri-focals. Damn lenses are so heavy, the conventional ‘sexy’ frames just would not support them. Anyway, I’ve noticed the BCs are making a comeback. They are suddenly once again fashionable. I find the black BCs much more comfortable.
I get them for free from VA or Navy. Daughter just got two pair from Sam’s Club for $668, and that’s with a heavy discount for the second pair. She went from no glasses to bi-focals for her first pair.
HMC, have you ever checked into Lasik? I had it done years ago and went from blind to 20/15 vision for years! I recently started going blind again, went and had cataracts done with corrective lenses and I again have 20/20 vision with no glasses! Hell, I don’t even need reading glasses anymore!! Please check into this??
Thanks, Willy. I’ve thought of it. I really should actually look into it instead of just talking about it. My left eye is so bad, the big E is the ONLY letter I can see w/o glasses. I must say I like my tri-focals. I thought I would keep a pair or two of my bi-focals as backups, but they just no longer work and it confuses my eyes.
And strangely enough, nowadays lots of chicks love them.
Hey was sent to the Warrior Eye clinic at WPAFB in 2004. PRK on my eyes left me 20/17 vision. Took maybe 15 seconds an eye. I can see a squirrel fart when I am out a hunting.
It’s all good wearing them once we get past 30 (or after we’ve “walked the aisle”)…they’re just traumatic for a late teen.
Our BC specs look pretty close to one of the types currently favoured by hipster douchebags.

In the last episode on Little, the indications were that he would be given NJP. Was that not true, or did something happen to make the Navy decide to kick him out? What’s also unclear, at least in terms of the available reporting, is at what point in the beginning did the Navy begin to suspect Little was pulling a phony racial incident.
He was charged with several violations, but I’d bet in the interests of expediency they gave him an Admin discharge and showed him the door.
They should have shown him the door by tossing him off the fantail with the rest of the trash. I envision him going over DJ Jazzy Jeff-style.
