Marines foil terrorist attack in France

Two US Marines overpowered an armed Moroccan terrorist who was known as such to French authorities. They confronted him as he was loading his scary black gun to begin his slaughter of about 550 folks riding the train. It’s said he had nine magazines of ammunition (about 270 rounds). The train was heading to Paris from Amsterdam. I thought there were guns laws to prevent that kind of stuff in those countries.

Unfortunately it looks like one of the Marines was wounded in the neck by the jihadist who also had a handgun. Where are those guns laws when you need them?

France 24 says there were no other casualties, except some actor dude and Mister Jihad is in custody. France 24 is ambiguous about the nationalities of the Marines, but CNN says they’re US Marines.

Jihadis aren’t safe anywhere from the US Marines, are they?

    Outstanding, Devil Dogs!

The marines have been protecting the French since 1917.

You forgot the “Shores of Tripoli” part, around 1805.

    2. Bill Cook

      Tripoli is in France?

      1. AW1Ed

France, among other European countries was paying the Barbary pirates to not attack it’s merchant ships.
They hide these facts in books.

‘Jihadis aren’t safe anywhere from the US Marines, are they?’

No. No, they are not. And they’d better stay out of my Walmart, too. They aren’t safe from me, either.

      Wack’em with your cane! πŸ˜€

Uh-uh, toots. Grocery cart and a bulk pack of chicken, or a bag of frozen mixed veggies. Imagine what it would feel like to be whacked with a 5-pound bag of red potatoes or a gallon jug of milk (8 pounds).

          Bash’em with the bacon, hobble’em with a Ham…. πŸ˜€

Naw, she’ll run them down with her tricked out Rascal scooter! πŸ™‚

Ya know I love ya, Ex-PH2

From a distance, that telescope mounted on her scooter looks like a small tank main gun…

    3. Ex-PH2

      Pepper spray in my purse.

If I’m in Walmart, the cooking and baking aisle is absolutely loaded with defensive materials. It’s also a good idea to have a little pack of dental floss with you at all times. You shouldn’t neglect your gums, and you never know when you might need it to hogtie a bad guy.

      1. nbcguy54ACTUAL

        Clean-up on aisle 4…

    4. Ex-PH2

I can see it now: a confused reporter outside Walmart relaying the message to the effect that ‘the shooter was found face down in the meat bin full of matured hams.’

Looks like hadji picked the wrong train to get his “Durka Durka” on.
Look to be told how US Marines interfered with the free expression of a peaceful religious protest. Charges will soon be filed in world court.

    1. Instinct

They’ll be separated from service after the guy from the ‘religion of peace’ (TM) files a complaint against them for striking him

      Milo,
Props for the Catch 22 Screen name.

    3. Sad that our initial reaction was that they would probably be mustered out for doing the right thing. Yeah, we were likely not the only ones.

Guy does something illegal and US military members demonstrate the error of doing that? Well done, airman, soldier, student and English ally. Very nice, and thank you.

  7. Hack Stone

He would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling Marines!

    1. Skippy

      you better believe it’s !!!!!!!!!!!
the French would have surrendered and all would have been cooked

      BHWhahahahahaHa

  8. PFM

BBC was reporting they heard the suspect loading a magazine in the restroom and confronted him when he came out. Excellent demonstration of a little thing called Situational Awareness. Well Done.

    Team America, F*#k yeah!!!
ISIS’s S-2 should be fired…oh wait, he’s at the bottom of a smoldering hole outside of Mosul.
Looks like it’s back to the drawing table with the fat crayons for the black shrouded clowns.

  10. Old Nam Doc

Now they are saying the injured guy is an airman. Two marines were there to help contain him. Guess we will get the straight scoop tomorrow.
    Regardless, USA to the rescue.

  11. Hubby, a history buff, says once again the US saves France’s patootie! (well he said another word, but you guys know!)

  12. justdave

They aren’t Marines. Aleck is Oregon National Guard and his buddy is AF.

  13. Climb to Glory

Seems the French have a greater appreciation for our military than anyone in the current administration.

I love what the one man said, “listening to their own courage…”

    2. nbcguy54ACTUAL

      Good story.

I hate it though when these reporters feel that they must say that a “Kalashnikov” was used/present, etc. Oooo-they used that big word again to describe an AK-47.

Maybe our news people should use the word “Mattel” when describing M16s (the old farts will get that reference).

  14. Just an Old Dog

Someone on social media says it was am Oregon National Guard Soldier and an Air Force guy not Marines,, either way good job guys.

    1. Skippy

      HOOOAH ! ! ! ! !

It sounds like our Marines should be in line for France’s Legion of Merit. They awarded it to Jerry Lewis and all he did was play the fool. Or perhaps some Chevalerie of some sort. Their equivalent to a knighthood. That should be at least equal to an ARCOM on their next promotion board.

  16. jeffro

‘merica bros…a job well done. Thankee kindly.

  17. Carolyn Bowman

The heroes on that train were not U. S. Marines. There were four individuals who reacted quickly to this Muslim terrorist attack: 1)Spencer Stone = U. S. Air Force Active Duty 2)Alek Skarlatos = Oregon Army National Guard (infantry) 3)Anthony Sadler = Civilian college student at Sacramento State University 4)Chris Norman = British civilian living in France

Spencer Stone is still in a French hospital. I suspect he’ll be transferred to Landstuhl if he’ll require further medical attention.

  18. MustangCryppie

Well done, mates! Whatever service you’re in!

Read in the Irish press (independent.ie) that one of the Americans tackled the scumbag and a second got the AK away from said scumbag and clocked him good, then proceeded to beat him unconscious.

THAT would have been a very satisfying evolution to participate in. Very satisfying.

  19. Sparks

Well done Marines!!! Recover well and soon.

  20. CavScout1963

Geez, Marines even get credit when they’re nowhere around. America, saving French for over 100 years.
