Don sends us this article from our buddy Dan Noyes at KGO-TV in San Francisco. You might recognize him from Mary’s picture of him at Fake Warrior Project. He was actually in the Coast Guard and was serving until he was busted. Someone finally identified him from the picture and Dan went after him and confronted him on camera. His reaction is priceless;
Van Fleet’s tall tales have caught up to him because of a new push by military veterans to expose the phonies.
Someone snapped his picture in Monterey last year and posted it to the “Fake Warriors” website for identification. Finally, a member of the local Coast Guard Auxiliary was browsing the pictures this month and recognized Van Fleet.
He called retired Navy SEAL Don Shipley, who verified Van Fleet is a fake using the SEAL database. Don Shipley explains, “All I got to do is check your name. I’ll check your name, just like that, a couple of keystrokes, I’ll tell you if that guy was ever a SEAL or not, it’s that easy.”
Yeah, my inbox is filling up with phonies, too. Good thing I retired from the day job. Well, good for us, not for the phonies.

The POS says that he knew he would be caught and then he would stop stealing valor, stop wearing Purple Hearts, stop claiming to be a SEAL, and a combat Veteran. I loved POS 1st Class Van Fleet’s question to the honorable Dan Noyes: ‘What difference does it make to you?” He can’t even come up with his own qusetion. What smacks me in the face is that Van Fleet treats getting exposed by treating Dan Noyes like he’s the bad guy, his expose’ as a Stolen Valor poser means little more to him than say, his dog pooping in his neighbors’ yard!
The web extra goes even further than that. He clearly does not care about Stolen Valor. He seems to think just taking off his medals and ribbons will solve it all.

As far as my Auxiliary service, in addition to being a coxswain and multi-qualified, I was both the national marketing department’s special projects manager (life jacket Tsar) among other national appointments. HMmmmmmm…..A few years back some of our scientists developed some deliverables to help analysts, etc. when reviewing testimony, confessions, etc. You’d feed in the transcript and the tool would analyze grammar, word use, syntax, key words, etc. The analyst (or other user) could then determine a degree of veracity; as well, determine if two documents allegedly written by two different people were — in fact — authored by the same person. We tested it at a school in Arizona whose instructors really liked it, as did the “boots on the ground” who asked us to develop it.
Too bad I do not have access to that program anymore — I’d have another test case for it.

Since the pattern is essentially the same from one person to another, they do appear to be cloned in the same commode basin. Stating the obvious as far as the regulars at TAH go, but for any visitors who may be wondering about ‘Dan’ and his viewpoints –
There is no way an Officer in any ‘elite’ unit would excuse or make light of an individual falsely claiming to have earned a place in any ‘elite’ unit. Never happen. Ever.
The closest I have seen attitude-wise is guys finally realizing that you cannot put every phony you hear spouting in a bar on the Pain Train. And for every guy that might be inclined to administer some physical negative reinforcement, 90% of the time the phony runs for the hills when he realizes he’s being called out by the ‘real deal’.
The only other thing I’d say is please don’t let this reflect poorly on the hard working volunteers of the CG Auxiliary. They do important work, as volunteers and they do a lot of good. A guy like van Fleet, with 3 years as a Fleet Sailor, would be able to talk the talk well enough that a Citizen volunteer would have no way of knowing he was full of s***. Add a fraudulent Budweiser, a couple of phony PH, a couple of phony BSM+V, and your average Citizen volunteer is going to assume the best.
The CG Auxiliary volunteers that he lied to for so long are some of the biggest victims of van Fleet’s lies.
