  • The looming Obama/Paul military massacre (Part 1)

    An unholy alliance has been formed in Washington D.C.

    Libertarian Republicans and liberal Democrats are moving to both destroy the military and cut off at the knees the families who have given the most this past decade. The first person to sound the alram in the mass media was former President George W. Bush’s Ambassador to the UN John Bolton in July of 2011:

    Every indication is that the debt-ceiling negotiations are leaving the defense budget in grave jeopardy. By exposing critical defense programs to disproportionate cuts as part of the “trigger mechanism,” there is a clear risk that key defense programs will be hollowed out.

    While the trigger mechanism comes into play only if the Congressional negotiators fail to reach agreement on the second phase of spending cuts, it verges on catastrophe to take such a national security risk.

    Defense has already taken hugely disproportionate cuts under President Obama, and there is simply no basis for expanding those cuts further. Republican negotiators must hold the line, since the Obama Administration plainly will not.

    He spoke out again making it clear that if (when) the so called Super-Committee failed the DoD and its membership would be left devastated.

    In the deal’s second stage, the yet-to-be-named Congressional Joint Commission will have wide discretion on what to agree on, but if no agreement or only partial agreement is reached, the deal’s sequestration mechanism will be triggered. Broadly speaking, if that happens, defense spending will bear fifty percent of the total cuts, with non-defense spending bearing the remaining fifty percent, up to the amount necessary to raise the debt ceiling by the minimum $2.4 trillion required by the deal. This approach risks grave damage to our national security.
    There is no strategic rationale whatsoever for cuts of this magnitude. There is, in fact, every strategic rationale to the contrary. While the appropriations process may still be able to decide which specific programs will be cut, this is no consolation. Cuts of this size are effectively indiscriminate.

    It’s at this point in which I know I don’t actually need to remind this readership of this blog where the true burden of our tax dollars rest. I’d hope we all know where the rest of this is heading…

    I’ll sound the alarm now for the 6.1 million of you whose jobs are tied into defense. Your time is coming in what is referred to by insiders as the coming train wreck. Entire US companies are looking to get out of the business of defending the United States and taking their people elsewhere.

  • Ron Paul’s foreign policy problems

    This post from Right Wing News has been making the rounds on the internet; John Hawkins mailed it to us yesterday and I just got around to reading it today. Sorry, but I’m feeling lazy this week. But anyway, it’s an interview John did with former Ron Paul staffer, Eric Dondero.

    Dondero tells us in the interview the same thing I’ve been saying for years. The worst part about Ron Paul is his naive world view and pre-WWII isolationist beliefs. Dondero says the he believes that we were wrong to fight the Germans in WWII and save the Jews from the Holocaust. But he does concede when pressed that maybe Germans invading our shores and blasting our ships on the open seas was reason enough.

    But to me this was the most troubling. Paul fully intended to vote ‘no’ on Congressional approval for military action in Afghanistan but changed his mind for purely electability reasons;

    Ron was “under the spell” of left-anarchist and Lew Rockwell associate Joe Becker at the time, who was our legislative director. Norm Singleton, another Lew Rockwell fanatic agreed with Joe. All other staffers were against Ron, Joe and Norm on this, including Lizardo. At the very last minute Ron switched his stance and voted “Yay,” much to the great relief of Jackie and I. He never explained why, but I strongly suspected that he realized it would have been political suicide; that staunchly conservative Victoria would revolt, and the Republicans there would ensure that he would not receive the nomination for the seat in 2002.

    So, either way, in my opinion, Paul is screwed on this. If he really intended to vote ‘no’ on Afghanistan, that was just wrong. If anyone deserved to be punished, it was al Qaeda and their caretakers, the Taliban. But then he compounded his mistake by changng his vote at teh last minute in order to be ‘right” in the view of the Party, so he could keep his seat in Congress. So all of that talk about Ron Paul being principled and not for sale is just what the paulians want to believe rather than what is the truth.

    When the chips were down and Paul could take a principled stand, he caved to political pressure. A quick and revealing peek into the Ron Paul presidency.

    According to The Hill, the Paul campaign is trying to discredit Dondero;

    Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton described Dondero as “a disgruntled former staffer who was fired for performance issues. He has zero credibility and should not be taken seriously.”

    Dondero cites several witnesses to the events he’s recounted and I don’t see any of them coming out to denying the most troubling aspects of the interview. A President Ron Paul would be a disaster on the world stage, worse than we have now, I suspect.

  • Ron Paul Says Accused Traitor is a Patriot

    Another gem from the Mouse who needs to go the hell away:

    As homosexual Army soldier Bradley Manning’s treason trial continues at Fort Meade, Maryland, the support he has received from Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been curiously ignored by the major media, now touting Paul as someone who could win the January 3 Iowa Republican Caucuses. Paul has called Manning, a crossdresser with acknowledged mental problems, a “hero” and “patriot” for stealing government secrets and providing them to WikiLeaks.

    Oh, but it gets better.

    However, speaking at a campaign rally, Paul said that while Manning may have “technically” broken the law against releasing classified information to WikiLeaks, he did so for the purpose of exposing the “horrible things” being carried out by the U.S. Government.

    Referring to Manning’s detention before trial, Paul said, “Should he be locked up and imprisoned?” Manning should be seen as a “political hero” and “true patriot who reveals what’s going on,” Paul said.

    The Bradley Manning Support Network published an article saying that Paul believes that Manning is a “whistleblower” and his actions “are essential to the country.”

    Another “inconvenient fact” for you Paultards to chew on.

  • Rush Limbaugh’s Ron Paul ad

    I haven’t listened to Rush for years now (no time), but this is pretty funny as well as accurate. I got it at Mediaite.

    Yes, Paulians won’t like the ad, but it pretty much sums up what Paul has said his policy towards Iran would be if he were president. A vote for Ron Paul is just like voting for Adam Kokesh or Gordon Duff. And Ron Paul has a Code Pink endorsement.

  • The Ron Paul cookbook

    Claymore sends us a link to a Politico article about the new Ron Paul cookbook. Try as I might, I can’t beat Claymore’s review of the book;

    The upshot is that every recipe uses a hefty dose of tinfoil and while there are some foreign influences on some dishes, they refuse to fully commit and entangle themselves from a flavor perspective. Bon appetite you Zionist imperialist pig.

  • Taking on Ron Paul and his Supporters

    Rurik sends: Larry Bailey under fire.

    From the linked article:

    Some of Ron Paul’s most avid (some say “rabid”) supporters are not friends of America.  The Marxist group “Code Pink” are frequent and vociferous supporters of the good congressman, as are “Iraq Veterans against the War,” a Soros-funded group that is sometimes violently opposed to any American intervention overseas, no matter how justified it may be.

    Code Pink, headed up by Medea Benjamin, shows up at any anti-American gathering that happens to have media (no pun intended) coverage scheduled.  That organization is frequently joined by IVAW in its pursuit of America-bashing.

    Now, Rep. Paul cannot be held totally responsible for who attends his rallies and who organizes his Iowa Straw Poll effort, but the public should not be kept in the dark about who it is that has become so close to the congressman.

    Rurik is referring to some of the comments there as the ‘fire’.  Larry’s seen much worse so I doubt he’s much moved, but it might be fun to join in if so inclined.

    Coupla caveats: Larry is a friend (as is Rurik) and I’m proud to say that I’m one of the dozen or so who helped pull off GoE-1, so I’ve seen much of what Larry describes. Secondly, much of what Larry discusses in his article is NOT news to regular TAH readers.

    Jonn adds:

    Code Pink supports Ron Paul

    Ron Paul supports Adam Kokesh

    Rand Paul endorses Kokesh

    Adam Kokesh and his upside down flag and IVAW banner at a Ron Paul rally in DC.

  • Paulians: This is what you sound like

    Bev Perlson sent us this video from Right Scoop of a Ron Paulian who was stopped by police for drunk driving. Apparently, drunk or sober, they still cling to their talking points honed after years of basement dwelling keyboard assaults on the national dialogue.

    I tried to embed the National Geographic video with some success so click the link below or the go watch it on Right Scoop if this player doesn’t work. It’s really worth the watch;

    Drunk Paulian

    He sounds a bit like the Obamabots – when Ron Paul is president, I guess the drunks will cruise the streets hassle-free, like Obama was going to pay our mortgages and make our car payments for us.

  • Can you imagine?

    An Austin, TX Ron Paul supporter, Rob Morrow, paid for this ad in the local “alternative newspaper”. the phrase “more money than brains” comes to mind. (From Salon). Can you imagine the outcry if someone ran this ad about any Democrat candidate?

    Robert Morrow describes himself as a “self-employed investor and political activist” as well as a three-time delegate to the Texas state GOP convention.

    CASH is the Committee Against Sexual Hypocrisy, of which Morrow is president. “Is it a real group? No. It’s just me,” he told Salon earlier this week.

    It’s nice to see that the Paulians are staying civil like always. Perry must have everyone scared. I’m not a big Perry supporter, but between the White House and the Paulians, I’m beginning to lean that way. The Ron Paul supporters are at least not bombarding blogs with their incessant advice to “read a book” this election season.

    If there are any underage trannies out there who’ve had sex with Rob Morrow, TAH is willing to pay you cash for your story. I’m not saying Morrow had sex wih underage trannies, I’m just askin’.
