  • Admiral McRaven compares President Trump to McCarthy.

I could go on for hours about this bat shit Admiral.  It might show a wee bit, but I never liked his Show Boat nonsense.

William H. McRaven, commander of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014, published his letter on the Washington Post website today, requesting that Trump also revoke his security clearance, “so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency.”

I really hope this loon does get his clearance revoked.

Trump said Wednesday he is reviewing the security clearances of several other former top intelligence and law enforcement officials, including former FBI Director James Comey and current senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr.

Why do these people still have a Clearance anyway?

“Like most Americans, I had hoped that when you became president, you would rise to the occasion and become the leader this great nation needs.

“A good leader tries to embody the best qualities of his or her organization. A good leader sets the example for others to follow. A good leader always puts the welfare of others before himself or herself.

“Your leadership, however, has shown little of these qualities. Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation.

“If you think for a moment that your McCarthy-era tactics will suppress the voices of criticism, you are sadly mistaken. The criticism will continue until you become the leader we prayed you would be.”

Hey McRaven…you have embarrassed those who serve and protect this nation with your ignorance and public display of hysterical political angst.     What I would give to have a public debate with this attention whore.   This an organized attempt, on the part of the media, to attack the President of the United States.   There was no Russian collusion by the President…Hillary Clinton blew that election all on her own.  The worst anyone could possibly say about what the Russians did on their own was to release exactly what the elitists at the top of the Clinton Campaign were saying to each other about the American people.  I, along with roughly half of this nation, already knew they were elitist scum.

Admiral Billy McBitchen should stick to Flipper re-runs and STFU.  Her gender fluid needs to be checked.   People giving him credit for killing what’s his name is like giving me credit for winning the Super Bowl because I watched it on TV.   I don’t agree with everything President Trump does…needy little attention whores like Billy here just make me move further into the Trump corner.  Letting the Left use him as a tool just shows how brainless he is.  He most definitely needs any clearance he has pulled.

    But, that’s just my opinion.

  • National Airborne Day!

    Jonn posted this years ago.
    COB6
That’s COB6 giving you the six minute warning above.

National Airborne Day is set on the day of the first parachute jump conducted by the Army’s Parachute Test Platoon on August 16th, 1940.

On the morning of 16 August 1940 the jump began. After the C-33 leveled off at 1500 feet and flew over the jump field, Lt. Ryder was in the door ready to jump. Warrant Officer Wilson knelt in the door waiting to pass the Go Point. When this was reached, he slapped Lt. Ryder on the leg and the first jump was made. Now Number One moved into position. Slap! “Go! Jump!”

    Still no movement.

It was too late now to jump on this pass. Mr. Wilson motioned Number One to go back to his seat. As the plane circled Mr. Wilson talked to Number One. Number One wanted another chance. Okay, this time we’ll do it. Back into the jumping position and once again, slap!

Sadly, no movement. Number One returned to his seat.

Private William N. “Red” King moved into the jumping position in the door. Slap! Out into American military immortality leaped Red King… the first enlisted man of the test platoon to jump out of an airplane. Number One was transferred to another post and anonymity. Now there were forty-seven. Was Number One a coward? I don’t think many experienced jumpers would say so. There are things some men cannot do at a given time. Possibly another time would have been fine. He wanted to. He intended to. He just could not… at least that morning.

The first US airborne operation was in support of Operation Torch, November 1942, in North Africa when 531 members of the 2nd Battalion 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment flew 1600 miles in 39 C-47s, of which only ten aircraft dropped their pacs, the rest landed because of navigation difficulties and low fuel.

Ten years ago, 3rd Battalion, 75th Rangers secured an airfield in Kandahar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom on October 19, 2001. On March 23rd, 2003, A Company, 3/75th conducted an airborne operation to secure an airfield in Northern Iraq a few days before the 173rd Airborne Brigade parachuted into Northern Iraq when the Turks wouldn’t allow the 4th Infantry Division to off-load and invade Iraq from their borders.

In years past, the 82d Airborne Division Association, mostly the DC Chapter, had to lobby to get recognition for National Airborne Day from the Senate every year, until 2009 when the Senate made it permanent.

We used to get a Presidential Proclamation every year, but for some reason, we haven’t had any since 2008.

    That’s me, on my ass as usual, in the days before Eric Shinseki;

Thanks to Mr. Shackleford (I don’t think that’s his real name) for the link. And thanks to DrewM who pointed you Morons over here.

  • Pocahontas holds Pow Wow; concerned about Veterans

It appears that Pocahontas, (that Warren woman),  and a few of her friends are not happy with President Trump and some of his friends.  They accuse President Trump of using a group of insiders to help make decisions on matters concerning veterans.

“These accounts … paint a disturbing picture of corruption and cronyism that is not only antithetical to transparent, accountable and ethical government, but will make it more difficult for (VA Secretary Robert Wilkie) to lead the VA in a way that allows him to exercise his independent judgement,” Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, wrote in a letter to the VA inspector general’s office on Friday.

    Oh, and there is this:

“Membership in President Trump’s private club should not give any individual the right to exert influence on decisions made by the VA that impact the over nine million veterans under its care.”

At issue this time is a report released by ProPublica this week that identifies three businessmen — Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, primary care specialist Dr. Bruce Moskowitz and attorney Marc Sherman — as key architects of a host of veterans policy decisions by Trump’s administration, even though none of the men hold an official government post.

Can you imagine a President getting advice from people who are not in any “official government post”?  Why this is just anarchy, the outrage, I, I, I, am lost for words.

This may hurt a little, but you can read the article HERE

  • Hegar Running for Congress

MJ Hegar served in the Air Force for 12 years, first as an aircraft maintenance mechanic and later as a pilot. She deployed three times to Afghanistan, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross on her final tour. Courtesy MJ Hegar’s campaign

“I see an uncomfortably flippant attitude toward putting our men and women in uniform at risk, by how we treat our allies, or how we treat a nuclear power or how we treat countries that are actively attacking our democracy. I think there are a lot of things that we need a lot more veterans in Congress because of that,” she said.

I will just leave the LINK to the rest of this…

  • Army No Longer Giving Immigrants the Boot

I had no idea they were doing this in the first place. The U.S. Army has stopped discharging immigrant recruits who enlisted seeking a path to citizenship, at least temporarily.  A memo shared with The Associated Press on Wednesday and dated July 20 spells out orders to high-ranking Army officials to stop processing discharges of men and women who enlisted in the special immigrant program, effective immediately. It was not clear how many recruits were impacted by the action.

“Effective immediately, you will suspend processing of all involuntary separation actions,” read the memo signed by Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Marshall Williams.

The disclosure comes one month after the AP reported that dozens of immigrant enlistees were being discharged or had their contracts cancelled. Some said they were given no reason for their discharge. Others said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.

I can understand the security concerns, I also think this program does offer a way to citizenship that is earned.  Not sure why the Army had not completed background checks on these people before they were put on Active Duty.

  • Winter-like Atmospheric Pattern in the Middle of Summer

That’s what the headlines should’ve said. Instead, we have one title suggesting, “Odd weather pattern”, and another saying, “Unusual midsummer weather pattern”. A referenced speaker argued that July wouldn’t have been his guess for a weather pattern like this happening.

Tweet by National Weather Service, Tampa Bay:

“If someone randomly showed up with this satellite image and told me to guess what month it was from…July would not be my first guess. It wouldn’t be my second or third guess either.”

    Why?

This isn’t what’s expected in July because this is something that normally happens in the winter. Snow and rain are precipitation in different states. According to the National Severe Storms Laboratory website, 1 inch of rain could equal 13 inches of snow.

Had July’s rain fell as snow, my area would’ve gotten approximately five to six feet of snow by July 29, 2018, with half of that falling the week leading to the 29th.

This “unusual condition” happened back to back, and would be similar to having two back-to-back cold dips in the winter, with accompanying snows.

If this same condition were to occur in the winter, the east would’ve experienced a serious snow dump. Folks in some areas would still be inconvenienced by the aftermath.

And, instead of last month’s flooding, some areas would’ve received enough snowfall to cave roofs in.

In both cases, the jet stream pushed south and dropped temperatures on the eastern half of the U.S. to below average. There have been reports of snow in Canada further north in the same area as the dip… In July, in an area that normally doesn’t get snow in the middle of summer.

It’s winter in the southern hemisphere, they’re getting a beating in areas that normally don’t get a winter beat down.

The extent of the cold/frigid air from the Antarctic is larger than usual. During the times that I’ve tracked global weather, the southern hemisphere’s winters have been a good predictor of what winter would be like in the northern hemisphere.

And, judging by what already happened in the northern part of North America, and in parts of Eurasia this summer, there’s a good indication that this year will be another short Arctic melting year.

The above graphic is from Denmark’s Polar Portal as of August 6, 2018. Different colors represent different ice thickness. Didn’t someone predict a high likelihood that this wouldn’t be there?

Here’s what it looked like back in July 6, 2018:

The black trend, in the inset, is the current average Arctic sea ice volume. The grey trend is the average sea ice volume from 2004 to 2013. The grey area is the spread of the Arctic sea ice thickness averages.

This year’s average Arctic Sea Ice Volume is above average. Also, as of this posting, we have less than a month left of the Arctic ice melt season.

If trends hold, we’re looking at a possibility of an early fall, followed by an early, long, rough winter. This includes snowfall, cold, and snowstorm record potentials.

Get your snow shovels before the summer is over. Not many are thinking about winter preparation right now, so prices and availability should be favorable. Get anything else that you’d normally get to prepare for a blizzard while supplies are still plentiful.

  • President Trump signs Executive Order replacing sanctions on Iran.

The President restored some of the sanctions on Iran that were lifted during “whats his names” Administration.  You can read the Executive Order in it’s entirety HERE.

The President tweeted, “Iran, and it’s economy, is going very bad, and fast! I will meet, or not meet, it doesn’t matter – it is up to them!”

Iran has been the sponsor of terrorism around the world since the 1970’s.  The President has been critical of the deal made with Iran from its conception.   It appears there will be no more magic carpets or Bademjan coming into this country for a while.  It seemed to go unnoticed by everyone that the amount of money in cash and securities that Obama sent to Iran is equal to the value of Iranian assets seized to hold them accountable for attacks on innocent Americans.

We will probably have to survive without any thing from Iran for a while.  They have been the major problem in the Middle East for decades and the major source of arms given to evil doers and gained through Russian collusion.

  • Wednesday feel good stories

    From Detroit, MI

A man was shot with his own gun Saturday when a man he allegedly tried to rob wrestled the gun away from him on Detroit’s west side.

Police said the victim, a 29-year-old man, was sitting in his vehicle with his family in front of a home in the 5000 block of Pacific Avenue when a man approached him and announced a holdup about 11:15 p.m. The victim wrestled the gun away from the man trying to rob him. During the confrontation, the attempted robber was shot in the buttocks, police said.

    From Pleasantville, CA

An intruder who boldly walked into a home in Pleasantville and attempted to rob the family was shot dead with his own weapon on Monday.  The homeowner, Marlon Williams, was also wounded and remains in stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.  Police said the man who is yet to be identified entered the house located at Ixora Lane at around 5.30pm.

Williams’ mother, Carol Williams, was sitting in the living room. “The man walked into the house, passed Carol and went into a back room. I don’t think he knew Marlon was in the bedroom. He pulled the gun on Marlon and asked for money and jewellery. But Marlon resisted and there was a struggle,” a neighbour said.  Police said Williams, 29, overpowered the gunman and they both fell to the ground. Three shots were fired in the struggle.  Police said Williams was grazed in the head with a bullet.

The intruder was shot in the abdomen and chest. He died in the family’s bedroom.  Williams was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
