  • The culture of corruption

I guess Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid knows corruption when he sees it. The Washington Times is reporting that Reid is now reimbursing his campaign for personal expenditures he’s made over the years – expenditures like paying bonuses to his personal staff at his Ritz-Carlton condo in downtown DC. Couple that with yesterday’s news that he’s decided to amend his ethic reports after being busted on it by AP (of all people) and hanging up on them during an interview.

I guess it’s not corruption if you give the money back and refile originally false reports when you’re caught being deceitful. Now Dingy Harry Reid releases a statement blaming Republicans for his own misdeeds.

In related news, the Washington Times is also reporting today about Robert Menendez, New Jersey Democrat who is apparently under Federal investigation for a rental deal with a non-profit organization which receives Federal funds guided by Menendez.

Let’s talk about Nancy Pelosi securing Federal Transit Authority grants for donors to her PAC. Or John Murtha who has pushed $95 million in contracts to PMA Group which employs his brother Kit and a former staffer. Or William Jefferson, the famous Democrat Congressman from Louisiana who just happened to keep $90,000 in his refridgerator. And no recitation of Democrat corruption would be complete without mentioning silly old Sandy Berger and his smuggling of National Security Archives documents that accidently got stuck in his pants and his socks.

Yup, there’s a culture of corruption alright. And Democrats are just as guilty, if not more guilty, as everyone else. But then they’ve been doing it longer than the rest, too.

  • Defeatocrat is not a misnomer, Peckerwood Murtha

John “Cut and Run” Murtha has summoned the intestinal fortitude to write a piece in today’s Washington Post entitled Confessions of a Defeatocrat . It is the most ignorant steaming pile of shit to find it’s way out the bowels of Murtha in some time. Actually the bloated coward has been reseasonably quiet lately – until yesterday when Murtha and his fellow coward and pretender John Kerry hit the Sunday shows to announce that Democrats are not cowards.

First of all, if you have to go on television and announce to the public that you’re not a coward, something’s wrong anyway. Especially if you’re John Murtha – the same John Murtha who urged that we cut and run from Somalia from our previous President. And not because we were getting beaten, but because the Defeatocrats didn’t have the testicular fortitude to give our troops the equipment to get the job done. They’re so afraid of world opinion (especially our enemies’ opinion of us, apparently), that they jerked our troops out of an African backwater country whose most feared weapons were Toyota pickups with 12.7mm machineguns duct taped to a pole in the back. A company of Bradleys would’ve put an end to that shit.

And Murtha apparently doesn’t seem to care that his ill-considered cut-and-run message on Somalia is what fuels the people who are attacking our troops in Iraq. Hussein showed the movie BlackHawk Down to his commanders before our invasion of Hussein’s Iraq to show his commanders what can be accomplished by a small force of people against the best-equipped and best-trained military in the world. Just because of political cowards like fat-turd Murtha and his French Poodle Kerry.

And ya know what? Our troops are dieing in Iraq for one simple reason – a Republican is President. If this President was from the Democrat Party, Kerry, Murtha, Durbin and the rest of the Defeatocrats would be foursquare behind him. Pure politics – not National Security, not concern for our troops. And they really don’t care that they’re responsible for killing our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, either.

We have yet to hear how the Defeatocrats will win in Iraq. And we have yet to see Kerry sign his Form 180. I wonder if Murtha will release his records, too. Seems to me that if someone wants to hold up their military record as their shield from accusations of cowardice, we should get a chance to read it.

And since Defeatocrats seems to piss them off, I think I’ll use it at every opportunity.

Edited to add Boot Murtha link

  • Life in an echo chamber

Reading over comments by several Democrats in various news stories today, I ask myself “how can these guys be so out of touch with America?” Prattling Jerry Nadler praises the Democrat leadership in the House for “holding the Party together”. The party that is so cohesive that they’ve locked out anyone who disagrees with them. They’ve tried to lock out Joe Lieberman (he’s locked out of my house, too, but for very different reasons). He’s up 10 points in Connecticut polls right now – without a party machine behind him.

On Ben Cardin’s website, he attacks Michael Steele for taking “special interest money”. Special Interests like US corporations. I’ve got a request into the Cardin campaign asking where Ol’ Ben gets his money, but needless to say, I’m not holding my breath waiting for a response.

And I got to watch perrenial knucklehead, Marion Berry shouting “No more killing” after 5 DC teenagers were murdered within 24 hours this weekend. I guess the ex-con doesn’t figure he looks hypocritical asking other criminals to stop being criminals. Especially after tax evasion was added to his resume this past Spring.

What makes these pinheads think that their strategy is working? The only answer is; they live in an echo chamber. Everything they think is all they hear. They discount any evidence that they might be losing America in this “discourse” of theirs. Did Hillary hear any of you Upstate New Yorkers on her famous listening tour? What has she done for you in the last six years that make you think she heard you? Did John Kerry or Al Gore hear what voters told them in the last two George W. Bush victories? Have the Congressional Democrats heard what America is saying in the last twelve years?

All of their little aides tell them what they want to hear – and their aides can’t hear America, either, between parties and junkets to the Maryland Eastern Shore.

The good news is; they’ll probably continue losing elections. The bad news is; they’re dragging America down with them. I’m a firm multi-party system guy, I don’t want to see any party running this country by itself, but the Democrats are making that real hard to avoid.

In the short term, I hope they keep listening to George Soros and those dipshits at Democratic Underground and MoveOn.org. But in the future, America needs them to get their shit together and catch up with the rest of us.
