  • This is what we’re in for

    So Joe the Plumber asked Obama a question about raising his taxes. Obama answered that yes, he would to spread the wealth around. It was an embarrassing moment, when John McCain mentioned it last night. The video had been zinging around the internet for a few days, but when it got mentioned during the debate, Joe the Plumber became kryptonite.

    Right out of the box this morning, Joe Biden demonstrated how out of touch he is with America by announcing that no plumbers in his neighborhood makes $250,000 (h/t to Curt at Flopping Aces);

    And it set the conspiracy nuts to hunting. At Democratic Underground, they were absolutely giddy to discover that Joe the Plumber is distantly related by marriage to Charles Keating;

    Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan.

    How close? Well we don’t know…no one is going to bother to tell us. But using moonbat logic;

    DefenseLawyer
    10. How many Wurzelbachers can there be?

    Typical defense lawyer…answer questions with more questions.

    So when Joe makes the mistake of saying Obama tap dances like world-reknowned Jewish tap dancer Sammy Davis, Junior, the Gawker says Wurzelbacher “already talks like a GOP pundit (he’s got the accidental casual racism down!), and his aw shucks willingness to repeat ancient class war talking points to every camera in sight is actually a bit suspicious for a random voter“. Do they have proof that Joe Wurzelbacher is related distantly by marriage to Keating? Well, not really admits the Gawker;

    Keating’s son-in-law, Robert Wurzelbacher, served a 40-month prison sentence in 1993 in connection with Keating’s Lincoln Savings and Loan collapse. Since then, who knows what he’s been up to, but there is a Robert Wurzelbacher who lives just outside of Cincinnati, owns a wood company, and donates to Republicans.

    Meanwhile there is a Joseph Wurzelbacher who owns a painting company in Cincinnati! Along with a septic tank repair company!

    These dots were all connected by a DailyKos diarist, who has no proof that Joe and Robert Wurzelbacher are related, but, you know, it’s suspicious.

    Yeah, at the Huffington Post they’re already calling Robert Wurzelbacher his father with no real proof. But who needs facts? Speaking of facts, some rabble-rouser on Air America is claiming he’s a wife beater according to a DUmmy;

    Blaq Dem
    141. Word has it he was arrested 3 times for domestic violence!

    …according to Thom Hartmann on Air America Radio.

    So Ace asks;

    Joe Wurzelbacher’s purported distant relationship to Charles Keating is newsworthy, the left is telling me, while Barack Obama’s friendship and protoge relationship with terrorist William Ayers is not.

    I’m sorry – – what’s Joe Wurzelbacher running for again?

    So, Obama can go to the debutante ball with terrorists, thieves and racists, but a McCain supporter can’t be related somewhat distantly to a bad businessman? But this is just a taste of what we’re all in for in Obama’s America.

    In the meantime, I mentioned during the liveblog that McCain should use Joe in an ad. So here it is below the jump;

  • Keep your head down, Joe

    Joe the Plumber has become an overnight sensation. Pam Meister of Family Security Matters and BlogmeisterUSA did an interview with him, some of which is at Michelle Malkin. Don Surber writes that he’s also attracted the attention of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association;

    Ace writes that Joe is about to be “vetted” by the media;

    He got “uppity.” He’s a middle class tradesman who dared to express a political opinion disfavorable to the hard left. Obviously, they will have to destroy him — how can they save him if they do not destroy him?

    Well, I didn’t need to be told that. Here’s the Google search traffic for this blog today;

    Apparently they think Joe has some secret they can expose him with and make him look foolish. I guess it’s pointless to ask if they have no shame.

    The Left are a bunch of crybaby sissies.

  • Senator Government vs. Joe the Plumber

    Last night’s debate couldn’t have highlighted the differences between the two candidates more and it was best illustrated by John McCain’s freudian slip when he called Barack Obama “Senator Government” and the most talked about American in the debate, the fellow dubbed Joe the Plumber.

    Anyone listening closely would have heard Barack Obama pushing government programs from education to tax “cuts” as the solution to all of our problems…in other words, Senator Government saw himself as the answer to all of our problems. John McCain, on the other hand, told us that we were solution to our problems, that he saw his job as keeping government out of our way – the same thing that Joe the Plumber saw the solution to his problems.

    Obama finally stopped talking about McCain’s “special interest friends” and started admitting to having a few special interests of his own…teachers unions, community organizers and unrepentent terrorists. He stuck to the same tired explanations that have served him over the last 20 months…and since he’s the affirmative action candidate, that was good enough for many Americans. Since he played the Santa Claus to John McCain’s grumpy grandfather, he came out looking like a champ. Never mind that he relied on the same old tired broken and failed social programs of the last forty years…everyone heard how they were going to win the lottery of life when Obama ascended to his throne.

    John McCain, ever the straight talker, didn’t make promises he couldn’t keep. Unfortunately, he didn’t bother to tell America that there are no tax cuts for the real middle class coming from Obama, that health insurance premiums will sky-rocket under Obama’s plan, that Obama’s pandering to unions won’t save our education system. Obama called every factual disagreement with his proposals an “attack” and McCain shrank from his responsibility to point that out.

    McCain failed to point out that Obama was partially responsible for the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac problems because he wouldn’t act against his own special interest friends and rein them in even though McCain had several opportunities to do so. And that was his last chance.

    That leaves it up to us. As Ace of Spades wrote last night “If McCain Won’t Do It, We Will“.

  • ACORN-registered phony voter caught

    I just watched one of the ACORN reps on Fox say that not one phony voter has been proven to have voted illegally in Ohio. Well the New York Post disagrees;

    The vote of Darnell Nash, one of four people subpoenaed in a Cuyahoga County probe of ACORN’s voter-registration activities, was canceled and his case was turned over to local prosecutors and law enforcement, Board of Elections officials said yesterday.

    Nash had registered to vote repeatedly from an address that belonged to a legitimately registered voter, officials said during a hearing at which the subpoenaed voters were to testify.

    Board officials had contacted Nash this summer, questioned his address and told him to stop repeat registering.

    But still, he breezed into Ohio election offices – the state allows early voting for president – reregistered with a fake address and cast a paper ballot, officials said.

    Sayin’ it doesn’t make it so, ACORN.

    The top story on Drudge right now is the ridiculous story about Mickey Mouse being registered in Florida by ACORN. In the story, an ACORN spokesman said he didn’t think the registration form was one of theirs (despite the fact that it had an ACORN stamp on it). Now, on Fox they’re saying that it’s their responsibility to turn in every form they get. So which is it, ACORN?

    Michelle Malkin has many more links related to this.

  • McCainiacs fire bomb Obama sign

    Oh, wait, that’s not what happened (h/t JammieWearingFool);

    Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a southeast Portland yard.

    Karen Scrutton said she was asleep inside her home at 7956 S.E. 17th Ave. in the Sellwood neighborhood when she saw her sign go up in flames after 1 a.m.

    “I screamed upstairs to my husband, ‘Jean! Jean!” she said.

    A neighbor heard a crash and chased off one of the suspects. Jean Scrutton said his son-in-law found another suspect not far away.

    Not long after, investigators picked up Leslie Brockette Leudtke and Kevin Carl Robinson, both 23. After interviewing them, the pair was charged with four counts each of manufacturing and possession of a destructive device. In addition, Leudtke was charged with a single count of reckless burning.

    Witnesses said the suspects threw a Molotov cocktail at the sign and used another as a torch.

    The Left sure enough knows how to rile up the Conservatives…those thugs just drove a few more McCain voters to the polls.

  • What else are they hiding?

    IAVA’s Paul Rieckhoff emailed us and apologized for slighting TAH on his response to the charges TSO levied on them on this board. I won’t revisit that but I will amend my statement that Rieckhoff is just like Solz…he has a bit more class than Jon Solz. I’ve added his response below the jump, but first I have unfinished business;

    I mentioned in the previous post, I’d taken some screen caps of some of IAVA’s cached pages…ya know, just in case. TSO and I thought it was little bit weird that all of the links to IAVA were down last night at the same time we were having trouble with our own site. So here’s two of the screen captures I took last night from their staff page; the first mentioning Phillip Carter, but the second capture is what changed over night;

    In his email to Blackfive, Rieckhoff wrote “And as for Phil Carter, it is no secret that he is an IAVA member. We have tens of thousands of members—and Phil is one of them. And we have clarified Phil’s role at IAVA on this page just so there is no confusion.” At the time he wrote that, the page he linked to looked like the photo above. But then their website went blank after his email to B5.

    This morning, the same webpage looks like this;

    Notice the italicized disclaimer that’s been added. Did someone step in something?

    There has also been rumors bouncing around that IAVA is going to start an intimidation campaign. I can’t be intimidated – if you want to know where I live, email me and I’ll tell you. If you don’t want to be called deceitful, don’t be deceitful.

    I have an absolute hatred for my “comrades” who’ll climb the bodies of the fallen for their own selfish political gain – and that’s what that scorecard was. Political hackery bought and paid for by “our own” for themselves.

    There’s more than enough proof of everything TSO wrote and I won’t be intimidated into silence by any-Goddamn-body. You fucksticks think you can be the next John Kerry – not as long as I draw a breath.

    Per Rieckhoff ‘s request, here’s his full, unedited response in full below the jump;

  • Obama’s ethics violation…again

    The Washington Times reports this morning that the hope and change candidate signed a ghost-written letter to the Bush Administration asking for $20-million grant for a supporter and development consultant and that the letter and the relationship wasn’t disclosed  as required by ethics rules of the Senate;

    Sen. Barack Obama, who vows to change Washington by trimming wasteful spending and disclosing special-interest requests, wrote the Bush administration last year to seek a multimillion-dollar federal grant for a Chicago housing project that is behind schedule and whose development team includes a longtime political supporter.

    Mr. Obama’s letter, however, was never disclosed publicly. In fact, the letter was ghostwritten for him by a consultant for the Chicago Housing Authority, which wanted the money – a practice ethics watchdogs have frequently criticized.

    Maybe this is why he’s trotting out the Keating Five scandal corpse to distract from his onw ethics shortcomings.

  • Democrats threaten MAD

    Since Sarah Palin has brought up the connections between Obama and his friends the domestic terrorists, the Washington Times reports that Obama’s surrogates are threatening Mutually Assured Destruction;

    Barack Obama’s allies warn that John McCain’s attacks on the Democrat’s character will lead to the political equivalent of mutual assured destruction: fire your big weapon at your own peril.

    Several Obama surrogates said his supporters may start reminding voters of McCain’s ties to Charles Keating, a convicted savings and loan owner whose actions two decades ago triggered a Senate ethics investigation that involved McCain as one of the “Keating Five.”

    So that’s all they have? A twenty-year-old scandal in which McCain was found clean? Well, I guess they could just make shit up if they wanted;

    On Sunday Obama unveiled a TV ad on the economy that paints McCain was “erratic in a crisis.” Some see that as a reminder of McCain’s age, 72.

    Democrats were well-synchronized Sunday, using the word “erratic” and Keating’s name in nearly-matching sentences across the talk show circuit.

    Oh, I see they already are doing just that. I wonder if bullshit will stick to McCain as well as facts stick to Obama. Then we’ll see who are the racists here.

    McCain and his aides, Obama said, “are gambling that he can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance. They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up. It’s what you do when you’re out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time.”

    Heh. It’s not a smear if it’s true.

    “Yet instead of addressing these crises, Senator McCain’s campaign has announced that they plan to turn the page on the discussion about our economy and spend the final weeks of this campaign launching Swiftboat-style attacks on me.”

    There was an element of truth to the Swiftboat Vets. Is Obama admitting that there’s an element of truth to his relationaship with domestic terrorist Ayers? The thing is if there was nothing to Obama’s relationship to Ayers, it wouldn’t bother him, but because he’s having such a violent reaction to Palin’s comments, well, that just tells me there’s something bad in there somewhere. I guess he should have come clean about it during the primaries.
