  • Adbo indicted on WMD charge

    Nasaar Abdo, former client of James Branum and absconded conscientious objector under the protection of Under the Hood, faces more charges in his aborted plot to bomb a redcurrant near Fort Hood and then shoot the survivvors according to Fox News;

    Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo was indicted on one count of trying to use a weapon of mass destruction, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. The other charges returned by the federal grand jury were attempted murder of officers or employees of the United States, two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a federal crime of violence, and two counts of possession of a destructive device in furtherance of a federal crime of violence.

    Abdo, who at his last court appearance, expressed his support for Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood mass murderer was a beneficiary of IVAW’s sympathy before he was found to have child porn on his government computer, absconded from Fort Campbell, KY with the help of his attorney, James Branum and Brnum’s connections with the anti-war Under the Hood Cafe in Killeen, TX while Abdo plotted the murder of more Fort Hood soldiers.

    According to the Fox News article, the WMD chrges carries a life in prison sentence. We can only hope. We can also hope that federal agencies follow the evidence to Under the Hood and James Branum – Abdo’s obvious accomplices in the plot.

  • Kokesh’s latest irrelevant cause

    I’d heard this was in the works, but Adam Kokesh’s latest cause is raw milk smuggling from Pennsylvania to maryland. These brave hippies by unprocessed milk and take it across state lines in a huge convoy of mini-vans. Since the police are watchingthem, i don’t see wherethey’re doing anythin gbrave, but this is the kind of misbehavior the government encourages by not enforcing the laws which they’ve heaped on the citizens. I’m sure this will result in more oppressive laws.

    But, Kokesh is really hitting hard on th issues that affect veterans, isn’t he? First it was dancing at the Jefferson Memorial. now it’s raw milk smuggling.

  • IVAW at Occupy Wall Street

    To, sends us a link to a YouTube video about some IVAW members who can’t help but wear mixed parts of their uniforms to announce their support for the Occupy movement.

    Ya know, if I looked around the group that I’m with and see Bill Perry standing next to me, I’d start questioning my ideas. Bill Perry testified at Winter Soldier the First. He admitted to me that his testimony was “Bullshit”, using his word. More than one refugee fom IVAW has told me that Bill Perry screwed them out of their veterans benefits by not following up on their paperwork as their advocate. Yet, there he is in the video, marching alongside other veterans who don’t know his background.

    Some of you may have noticed that whenever I mention IVAW on this blog, some of their members usually swoop in and defend the organization…but that hasn’t happened in the last few weeks. My ninjas tell me that there is a split occuring in IVAW, like during the flag-burning a few years back. Some less-vocal members don’t think the IVAW should be wasting their time being mannequins for the smelly hippies.

    I have news for you (I know you’re reading), if you belomg to IVAW and someone wearing an IVAW T-shirt does dumbass bullshit – you support him. That’s the way it goes. Perceptions aren’t lways fair. Welcome to the real world.

  • Boston Globe: “Thousands” of veterans support OWS

    Yeah, i don’t know how they arrive at that “thousands” number, but I’d counter that millions of veterans are NOT marching in the flaccid movement. And if you look at the veterans who are supporting the OWS theater, they’re the pepetually outraged mannequins of the Left – IVAW. Scott olsen who was injured last week in Oakland belonged to both VFP and IVAW. Matthis Chiroux who wrote in the Huffington Post yesterday about the OWS “leadership” or the lack thereof, was a creation of IVAW. In this Boston Globe article one of the veterans in the article, Jerry Bordeleau, is one of the remaining actual veterans of the war in Iraq, or so he says;

    In the video, he says he wore his complete uniform to the protest….if he still fits in his uniform, I know why he’s not in service anymore. He must’ve cleaned the PMO out of donuts every morning.

    “For 10 years, we have been fighting wars that have enriched the wealthiest 1 percent, decimated our economy and left our nation with a generation of traumatized and wounded veterans that will require care for years to come,” said Carter, who leads the national Iraq Veterans Against the War group.

    Yeah, well, where is Jose Vasquez, the Executive Director of IVAW? He lives in New York City…why isn”t he leading the contingent. Maybe it’s because he never deployed to Iraq and he has no authority to speak for Iraq veterans, even though he heads an organization which has Iraq Veterans right there in the title.

    And you’ll notice that the Left puts veterans right in the front of their movements in their uniforms and IVAW T-shirts, organizations like IVAW are merely mannequins for the fruit pie Left. The hippies think that hiding behind their uniforms give them some sort of credibility. But IVAW lost any credibility they might have had when their executive director was an AWOL Coastie stationed in Hawaii who couldn’t bring himself to patrol fisheries for The Man.

    For a while IVAW started working for the health of returning veterans and I pretty much left them alone, but they’ve begun slipping back into their old habits. I guess, I’m going to have to order a whole new batch of FOIAs.

    Thanks to The Mr Wolf for the heads up.

  • Matthis on leadership; Oh, woe is me!

    The Huffinton Post must be sucking canal water for diarists these days. Our old buddy and recent contestant in our stolen valor tournament, Matthis explained to the brainless hippies in his typically verbose manner why there are no leaders of the OWS protests;

    Being a leader in a movement I saw as plagued with too much leadership and not enough initiative on the ground, I tried simply to be an example of revolt. If anything, I hoped to use my position to assert new ideas and radical tactics. I tried to promote individual autonomy while myself pushing the bounds of acceptable dialogue to create a new cognitive space from which to organize; one not in service to a flag or a political party or a specific ideology, but exclusively to the values they all claim to monopolize.

    While this approach made me stand out, ironically, as a leader, it also ‘learned’ me a powerful lesson: leaders are targets, and certain interests in this country know little ethical restraint when striking at them to strike at the movements and ideas behind them.

    To be a leader on the left in the U.S. is to invite incredibly harsh scrutiny, and oftentimes harassment. From the state, from the populace, from the opposition and sometimes even from those you thought to be your friends. To stick one’s head up in a movement now-a-days is to beg that it get beaten down. Part of this ‘whack-a-mole’ practice is broader human tradition. Part is a matter of intent.

    Yeah, when you’re a leader, you probably shouldn’t be an immoral piece of shit liar…I guess he didn’t want to admit that in his wordy treatise on a subject about which he knows nothing.

    Matthis was forced out of the IVAW because he went against the mjority of the group’s actual veterans, he lied about the extenet of his service and his reasons for resisting the war. I guess he still wo’t admit his own failings to himself, so we have to keep reminding people.

    Thanks to another nameless ninja for the link.

  • Another Marine swept up with Occupy

    Jayel Aheram, for all appearances is indeed a former Marine who was honorably discharged last year, yet here he is speaking from jail to the Palm Desert Patch;

    “I’ve been abroad to defend freedom and liberty in foreign countires. When I’m here exercising that freedom and liberty, I’m arrested, shackled and chained and threated like a common criminal,” Aheram said, wearing an orange jumpsuit.

    Ah, the old standing on the bodies of veterans to rise above the inevitable arresting officers ploy.

    It appears that the city of Palm Desert gave the “occupiers” a permit for four days which expired Friday. The occupiers continued occupying through the weekend without the permission of the people of the city. So they were arrested after the park closed at 11 pm;

    “They ambushed us. It was a raid. It was a late night raid,” Aheram said.

    The police ambushed them after warning the protesters they’d be arrested if they continued to flaunt city ordinances.

    “I’m merely exercising my first amendment right. The city put a responsible citizen in jail for exercising his first amendment right,” Aheram said.

    Yeah, responsible citizens don’t break the law.

    A little Google research turned up a comment by Jayel Aheram on Red State in which he defends Kokesh against a Republican assault on Red State;

    So I guess he can be loosely tied to IVAW. There are several other posts on the internet that connect Aheram to the anti-war ideology, although I can’t find evidence of his actual membership in IVAW, he certainly was a good candidate for them, if they still had actual veterans of Iraq in the organization.

    Thanks to Valerie for the link.

  • “You did this”

    Old Trooper sends us a link to Fishbowl LA which is about the Marines taking to Reddit to show their support for Scott Olsen. Apparently, the picture above is from that media assault. I understand that, really, I do. My first reaction when I got the partial story was the same thing. Then I started doing my little “Google-foo” thing and started reading about how the thing happened and that Olsen was a member of IVAW and Veterans For Peace – big warning signals.

    But the clincher for me….because if you read my first about him, you’ll notice I wasn’t my usual asshole self. I gave him unquestioned credit for his service and two tours in Iraq…But, then this morning I read what he thought of his “brothers”;

    Maybe the brainwashing didn’t work on us.

    Loosely translated, that means the rest of you who are proud of your service and proud of the heritage and history of the Corps are brainwashed…you fell for the bullshit. That’s the guy you want to defend? Really?

    Both times I’ve written about him, I’ve been sympathetic about his injuries, even though he should have been following the instructions of the police…like anyone with half-of-a-brain would do – the police didn’t injure the whole Marine Corps…they injured one hippie fuckstick who has professed his hatred for the Marines.

    No self-respecting Marine would join IVAW, whose most famous Marine was Rick Duncan/Strandlof the phony gay Captain from Colorado, or VFP whose chief fund raiser is Doug Zachary, a Marine who was jettisoned from the Marine Corps for dealing drugs and being a general nuisance before he could be deployed to Vietnam.

    Seriously, do you want to peg your service to Olsen’s? Especially since most of Olsen’s posts on his website make it sound as if he was chaptered out/ for some sort of malfeasance.

    ADDED:Sporkmaster found this picture on Olsen’s Flickr account. This is what “your brother” thinks of you and your Corps;

  • Scott Olsen: I hate the Marine Corps

    Yesterday, we discussed IVAW and Veterans For Peace member, Scott Olsen, who had his head busted by some police “projectile” in Oakland the other night. Our buddy, Gateway Pundit sent us a link to his post today about how Olsen was the founder of the “I Hate The Marine Corps” blog.

    Gateway Pundit quotes from Verum Serum who discovered the original story;

    The Marine Corps thrives on its image. They convince young men and women that they’re joining a professional military organization. But that’s not the case at all, every Marine knows it, and most have no problem downplaying the bullshit to outsiders so they can protect their “beloved corps”. I noticed some of the other posters have told you not to pay any attention to my site because we’re just a bunch of ********* who couldn’t hack it, right? Maybe not hacking it means we saw through the bullshit and don’t want to take it. Maybe the brainwashing didn’t work on us. I’m not here to tell you if you should join or not. I’m here to advise you to take the people who visit my website just as seriously as anybody who tries to sell you the MC as a good thing.

    My site is anonymous, these people don’t have to worry about hiding from the MC, or protecting the MC’s image or anything. It is unfiltered truth.

    No, he still didn’t deserve a fractured skull, but I think it’s a little bit odd that he hates the Marine Corps…until it gives him and his fellow hippies a measure of moral authority.

    Update Sporkmaster: For someone who did not like the Marines, they are actively trying to portray the opposite. Here is a screen capture of of his comment that he was being separated for drug use.
