  • Drones, Bones, and Che

    The Occupy (fill in city name) drones likely sport a few Che Guevara t-shirts and that is fitting. It seems Che was executed 44 years ago this week so some celebration of his life is, perhaps, in order.

    Big Peace has the facts and this:

    Tens of thousands of Cuban youths learned that Che Guevara’s admonitions were more than idle bombast. In Guevara, the hundreds of Soviet KGB and East German STASI “consultants” who flooded Cuba in the early 1960s found an extremely eager acolyte. By the mid-’60s, the crime of a “rocker” lifestyle (blue jeans, long hair, fondness for the Beatles and Stones) or effeminate behavior got thousands of youths yanked out of Cuba’s streets and parks by secret police and dumped in prison camps with “Work Will Make Men Out of You” emblazoned in bold letters above the gate and with machine gunners posted on the watchtowers.

    Jonn is our resident Latin America expert, but amidst all the angst (quite legitimate) over our use of aerial drones the closing paragraph of the article struck me as fitting.

    One day before his death in Bolivia, Che Guevara — for the first time in his life — finally faced something properly describable as combat. He ordered his guerrilla charges to give no quarter, to fight to their last breaths and to their last bullet. With his men doing exactly what he ordered (fighting and dying to the last bullet), a slightly wounded Che sneaked away from the firefight and surrendered with fully loaded weapons while whimpering to his captors, “Don’t shoot! I’m Che. I’m worth more to you alive than dead!” His Bolivian captors viewed the matter differently. In fact, the following day they adopted a policy that has since become a favorite among many Americans who encounter (so-called) endangered species threatening their families or livestock on their property: “Shoot, shovel, and shut up.”

     

  • Duff and the Boys from Argentina

    Gordon Duff is at it again, now he’s claiming that he has “intel” that Hitler and Eva Braun didn’t commit suicide while Berlin crumbled around them n the Soviet onslaught that bright Spring morning back in 1945;

    Historian David Irving, seen as an enemy of Israel for his well researched works that expose Churchill as a Rothschild shill and present Hitler as more of a “voice of reason” than anyone is allowed to speak of now, well, you will love this one. Irving believes, and Irving is seldom off the mark, that Hitler really escaped Germany at the end of the war. Our Israeli friends who assigned top researchers to go through Irving’s writings did learn this.

    Hitler died in Argentina, where he and Eva Braun lived out their lives in peace. Hitler was…..an art dealer. Can I prove it? No. Is it true? Extremely likely, the sources are very reliable.

    I guess Gordo is willing to give up any appearance of being a serious journalist – the danger of being on the edge is that sometimes you fall right off. And if that’s not enough for you;

    Expect hard evidence next week to come out proving bin Laden to have been an active CIA asset on 9/11.

    Need more Duff-us-ery;

    Combined with the Mexican cartels, now partnered with the CIA and Homeland Security, rebuilding the old “Iran/Contra” scams, turning drug production and smuggling into full scale vertical marketing, and, in the process, buying judges, police departments, local governments across America…

    Yeah, they really need to change the name of the website to Crackpots Today and give veterans a rest from being identified with the certifiably insane.

  • The experts speak on the Iran/al Qaeda slap fight

    Yeah, I read yesterday how al Qaeda criticized Iranian President Ahmadinejad for espousing his truther theories in the UN.

    “The Iranian government has professed on the tongue of its president Ahmadinejad that it does not believe that al Qaeda was behind 9/11 but rather, the U.S. government. So we may ask the question: why would Iran ascribe to such a ridiculous belief that stands in the face of all logic and evidence?” opinion writer Abu Suhail asks.

    Well, I was going to write about it, but then I figured that I’d wait and get the expert opinions, but then instead, I went to VetVoice and read how the whole discussion went straight over dicksmith’s empty and sjiny head;

    I wanted to post this to underscore a point. The Muslim world is not monolithic. But even within the Muslim world, those that oppose American interests are not monolithic either. The fact that both Iran and al-Qaeda do not like us does not mean that they are working together. Or even like each other. We saw this in Iraq with the gangs of local thugs being referred to as “al-Qaeda” in Iraq, when they were, depending on the region, local gangsters or supporters of other internal extremist movements like the Madhi Army.

    Yeah, they’re not monlithic…well, unless you recognize that they all want to kill Americans in droves. The whole Muslim World? Nope, no one ever said the Muslim World wants to kill us all simply because we live in this country. But the groups that dicksmith mentioned certainly do. They all use their religious beliefs to justify their blood lust…so they’re not monolithic if you disregard their central tenet.

    What exploration of this subject would be complete without calling on Veterans Today‘s Senior Editor Gordon Duff, but you almost already know what his take on it is, don’t you?

    Yeah it was an Israeli hoax;

    Highest level sources inside Israel’s military intelligence community are laughing themselves to death.

    They took the American press “hook line and sinker” when a story was put in in what was claimed to be an Al Qaeda ” magazine” threatening Iranian President Ahmadinejad for failing to give “them” credit for 9/11.

    Well, of course it was a hoax – how could Gordo continue to subscribe to his truther conspiracies if al Qaeda actually said in public that they committed the 9/11 attacks on America. And he takes the opportunity to discount the killing of bin Laden, the existence of Adam Gadahn Perlman and somehow Charlie Chaplin has something to do with it, too.

  • Gordon Duff is better than you

    I really take offense at this latest piece of shit written by serial ritard Gordon Duff, the one he titled “Murder and Torture, the Lasting Legacy of America“. to begin with, the idiot numbskull thinks that somehow the Medal of Honor somehow represents murder and torture just by his juxtaposition of a graphic of the Medal in his piece;

    The last Medal of Honor recipient, a Marine, was awarded the Medal for hauling boatloads of wounded US troops though withering gunfire to medical aid. The one before him lost his hand saving his brother Rangers from a live grenade. The one before him charged after the armed enemy to bring back a wounded comrade. What do any of those things have to do with murder or torture?

    He goes on to describe our troops as murders and torturers, based entirely on testimony from people who were in prison for murdering and torturing Americans as if their testimony is gospel;

    How many of our military are war criminals? Over 2 million served, over 500,000 of them claim to be permanently psychologically damaged from taking part.

    But, see he was above all of that shit in Vietnam, because he’s a better person than you or me;

    As a combat Marine serving in Vietnam, I periodically shot at people, perhaps a bit more than that. These were armed people. I also searched hundreds of homes.

    I saw some among us choose to shoot at unarmed civilians. I saw this once. I saw one Marine lose his temper and scream at a civilian. I quieted him down.

    We were trained professionals and did the best we could. To me, the rules were simple. You treat people with dignity and respect. Some didn’t follow that rule and in one case I saw a small unit singled out for attack because of abusive acts toward Vietnamese children, very minor by current standards. Slapping, not gang rape

    See? But today’s troops don’t have the benefit of the vast education and upbringing that 18-year-old Gordon Duff had what with his 18-month career in the Marines. Gordon Duff at 18 years old was a better person than any of you who have served since because you won’t come forward and tell us about the rape, torture and murder that you didn’t witness…like Gordon didn’t either.

    of course, it’s all the Republicans’ fault;

    We also have a political party, the GOP, that thinks this should remain national policy, we have a religion, Christian Evangelism and its offshoot, Christian Zionism, that think rape is a form of legitmate questioning, we have political and military leaders who continue to support these policies.

    And those of you who read this blog from the Pentagon and SOCOM are complicit, according to Duff, who presents not a bit of proof except quotes from terrorists. So I thank my lucky stars that I have betters like Duff to set me straight.

  • Marines encourage New recruits

    While I agree with Jonn Lilyea, whole-heartedly,  that the Dan Chois of the world are-and should be- unwelcome in the military.  The distinction is that he wants to be GAY first, and an OFFICER second.
    I loved reading this NYT  article about Marine Corps recruiters who showed up at an “Equality Center,” following an invitation.
    The Marines were the service most opposed to ending the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, but they were the only one of five invited branches of the military to turn up with their recruiting table and chin-up bar at the center Tuesday morning. Although Marines pride themselves on being the most testosterone-fueled of the services, they also ferociously promote their view of themselves as the best. With the law now changed, the Marines appear determined to prove that they will be better than the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard in recruiting gay, lesbian and bisexual service members.
    That’s how it is– or should be– for members of the military.  We support our country and our country’s laws.  Our personal views may conflict with the law of the land, but when  we wore that uniform, our personal views were left at the door.  THAT is what’s wrong with the activists, and the Dan Chois.
    So, we can get on blogs, talk to our families and fight, legitimately, for what we believe is right.  But the law is now the law and I admire the Marines for their initiative.
    It’s important to note only THREE people were interested, female, and likely unqualified.  The whole point may already be moot.

  • Gordon Duff, the drooling moron

    In what may be construed as insulting to drooling morons, I have to say that Gordon Duff has crossed over from crackpot to drooling moron this week as he tries to tie Ronald Reagan’s assassination attempt to Reagan’s Vice president in “JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) Threat: Obama, Biden and Family to be Killed” First notice that the article had another title before Duff edited it. The URL reads Chatter; Obama Sought Arrest Of Bush and Cheney for 9/11 Treason. But his article reads;

    Two elections had been rigged to get Bush into office. 9/11, years in the planning, complex demolitions, radio controlled aircraft, SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) weapons developments, our biggest weapons secrets, were used on to flatten the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

    This could all have happened years before if the removal of Clinton had been allowed to succeed, attempts to tie him to CIA drug running and then the “Lewinsiki affair.” As early as 1981, the elder Bush tried it too, 69 days into the Reagan presidency, John Hinckley, a mind control (MK Ultra) asset of the Bush CIA had tried to murder Reagan.

    I suppose the Mossad was controlling the CIA at that time, too.

    I guess the reason Bush, Sr. wanted to assassinate Reagan because of the president’s war against drugs because Duff goes off on a tear of how Wall Street and the CIA were in the drug business together – the real reason for invading Afghanistan, so we could get the poppy business restarted. I suppose this makes sense, especially when you look at how much drug addiction costs our government in direct payments for rehabilitation of addicts and how much of the national productivity is lost to drug use. And everyone knows that Wall Street is always more interested in how much they can make today rather than how much they’ll make down the road…well, it’s that way if you’re a drooling moron and don’t understand Wall Street.
