    Wednesday morning feel good stories

In Aiken County, Georgia, Emilio Rojas awoke to a room full of people he didn’t know. One of them whacked him in the head which motivated him to get his revolver. He discharged the firearm several times during a physical altercation, but the people in his room took his gun from him and un-assed the AO. As the three stooges left his home, the one with his gun fell down and discharged the gun one more time. The police found Dontrell Washington-Allison at the hospital getting his non-life-threatening wounds treated while a search of the area around Rojas’ home turn up the other three who were apparently not motivated to leave the scene of the crime.

In Jackson, Mississippi, a homeowner found someone breaking into his car, so he unleashed a flurry of gunfire at the criminal, which caused the criminal to fire back – apparently a couple of vehicles were hit, but nothing else. It also woke the neighborhood. It kind of sounds like the thief was arrested, but, apparently, in Mississippi journalism school, they urge writers to leave little details like that for your imagination.

Chief Tango sends us a story which happened in Oakland Park, Florida. Andrew Hepburn was ordered to the floor of his auto-parts store by Conrad Bloomfield. When Andrew wasn’t quick enough, Conrad whacked him with his gun. Andrew then took the gun away from Bloomfield and shot him five times in the chest. Hepburn was shot by another gunman on overwatch and then made his escape. Police took both wounded men to the hospital where they’re recovering.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a car thief was trying to escape from police by breaking into a nearby home. The uncooperative homeowner discharged his firearm in the general direction of the criminal who changed direction without injury and police are still looking for him.

In Whitley County, Indiana, a homeowner was forced to defend himself in his yard with his gun. There are no details, but Adam Porter was DRT and 62-year-old David Hagan, was released from police custody.

    Tuesday morning feel good stories

John from Texas sends us our first story this morning from Beaumont, Texas where a homeowner’s dogs alerted him to an intruder. When he encountered the fellow, he immediately surrendered his firearm one bullet at a time. The intruder un-assed the AO, but police found him in the yard and declared him DRT (dead right there).

Chief Tango sends a story from San Antonio, Texas that ends like many stories from Texas – in the parking lot of Whataburger. It seems that two fellows were trying to turn their lives around by burglarizing another man’s pickup truck toolbox when they were caught in the act by a neighbor who contributed some lead to the endeavor. One burglar was found nearby in his own bullet-riddled pickup with wounds to his face and back in the nearby Whataburger parking lot.

In Heflin, Alabama, a woman was rescued by her armed neighbor when Craig Steven Moore invaded the home of 69-year-old Wilma Williams. Moore was able to wrestle Williams’ gun away and shot at her twice, missing both times. Williams then un-assed the AO and alerted her neighbors, James Melton and Charles Price, who confronted Moore and Price shot Moore twice with his shotgun.

Moore was released from the hospital and in residence at his new digs facing an attempted murder charge, two assault charges, burglary and robbery for stealing Williams’ gun. Hopefully the prosecutor is a better shot than Moore.

    Monday morning feel good stories

Only in Charleston, Oregon could a homeowner fire one round into the ground “in a safe manner and direction” and capture two fellows who had been rifling through his property. But there you go.

In Prince George, Virginia, a vacationing homeowner watched on his security system as a burglar crawled across his roof and into his home. Police officers arrived on the scene in time to hear a single gun shot. When they turned their lights on, the burglar was DRT on the roof with a single gun shot to his noggin. The story isn’t clear on who fired the shot, but the end result was satisfactory to the law-abiding and peaceful community.

In Memphis, Tennessee, a homeowner heard noises in his kitchen and found a man in there holding what looked like a gun wrapped in a rag who threatened to shoot the victim if he didn’t show him where the valuables were. The uncooperative homeowner then proceeded to beat the snot out of the burglar. When police arrived, they found the criminal laying on the floor and he was “unresponsive”.

Chief Tango sends us a story from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where two fellows entered a convenience store with a foot-long knife and demanded money. The clerk, although he had a gun, chose to run the thieves away with a sword he kept behind the counter instead. It seemed to work.

The pastor of a church in Shelby, North Carolina has decided, in the wake of the Charleston, SC shooting, to take steps to protect his parishioners by arming ten of them to act as security. He’s also arming them with training.

UpNorth sends us a link about a story in Tekonsha Township, Michigan, a burglar climbed in a window of a home, and I’ll bet he wishes that he had confronted a homeowner with a gun – instead he encountered a very protective dog. Mister Criminal un-assed the AO but he was found getting his injuries treated at the local hospital. The article says that he requires “reconstructive surgery”. I’m guessing the surgery will be required somewhere within the immediate reach of a dog.

    Sunday morning feel good stories

In Mesa, Arizona, Daniel Kresowaty went into a home uninvited, apparently, and began yelling at the residents who made him DRT as a result. His car may have been on fire, too, but police are sorting all of that out.

In Fair Play, South Carolina, Jake Harkley found a guy trying to liberate some of Jake’s property from his car. When the enterprising youth took off, Jake followed him and found him breaking into other cars. When the young man saw Jake, he fired a few rounds at him. Jake’s handgun misfired when he tried to return the favor and the youngster escaped. That’s why my primary handgun is a revolver – less likely to misfire.

In Phoenix, Arizona, a man was convinced that another man was sleeping with his wife, so he went to the other man’s home with a knife to prove his love for his woman. After his love drove him to break into the home, for some odd reason, the other man shot him DRT. Obviously, he wasn’t a romantic.

In Grand Island, Michigan, Emmett Latimer saw Aramis Newsome breaking into a home of one of Latimer’s neighbors. Emmett went to the home and confronted young Newsome when he came out of the house. Newsome says that he tried to get away, but Latimer says Newsome charged at him, but the end result was the same, regardless how the story played out – Newsome is in the hospital and the police are currently reserving a special place for him. By the way, the police say that evidence at the scene seems to support the 37-year policeman’s story.

    Saturday morning feel good stories

Our first story this morning is from Detroit, Michigan where a homeowner heard noises outside his front door and went to investigate. When he opened his door, the intruders opened fire on him, but he had a gun, too and drove them away, but it is not known whether the homeowner hit his targets.

But, in Lantana, Florida, the outcome was a little more clear. A homeowner found a couple of fellows in his house when he came home from work. Gun fire erupted at the scene and the homeowner made one of the criminals DRT, while the other was carted off by the amber-lance. Unfortunately, his two dogs paid the ultimate price.

Thanks to Chief Tango for the links.

    Friday morning feel good stories

In Apopka, Florida, a homeowner chased off two men with his firearm while they were merely trying to turn their lives around. The homeowner’s son-in-law says that one of the men was struck by bullets, so they should check all of the convenience store clerks to see if they were treated by Apu (a reference to yesterday’s FGS if you read it).

In Charlotte, North Carolina, another homeowner came home from work to find two men liberating his property, so he shot one who fled the scene in a car while his partner left on foot. A few minutes later, police got word of an automobile accident near the scene and found one of the ambitious youngsters driving with a life-threatening gun shot wound. The other fellow was spotted by an alert resident and he was taken to the hoosegow, too. Charlotte police advise any other homeowners who encounter criminals to not resist – lay down in the fetal position and pray. Pray real hard.

In Leesburg, Florida, a restaurant owner had a gun shoved in his face, surrendered his cash, and chased down the criminal. Even though he had a gun and pointed it at the criminal, he got buck fever and started thinking about the shot, so he didn’t take it. The bad guy got away with the cash. Kind of the opposite of a feel good story, but, there it is.

In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, they fire warning shots into the ground, twice, when they encounter fellows in their backyards wielding machetes. Then the suspects have single-car rollover crashes and flee that scene, too.

    Thursday morning feel good stories

In Lorain, Ohio, Alejandro Melendez returned home after a trip out of the country and he was immediately assaulted by a man near the front door. While police were minutes away from the scene, seconds counted and Mr. Melendez was forced to make the criminal DRT.

In Houston, Texas, a fellow was sitting in the parking lot of a barber shop when two gentlemen who were in the process of turning their lives around approached him. The two tried to liberate the fellow’s property, so the man gave them his property one bullet at a time and made one of them DRT while the other un-assed the AO.

In Dallas, Texas, Kendrick Dickson heard two fellows pry open his front door with a crowbar, so he greeted them with some gunfire, striking one, whose friend knocked him down as he ran out the door. The wounded fellow beat feet , too, but while police were at the scene, the injured fellow was at a local convenience store seeking medical assistance (makes sense, right? Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, the convenience store clerk, knows more about gun shot wounds that a mere trauma surgeon), so he’s in the hospital while the police are making up his room.

Also in Dallas, Texas, another invasion might be the same story as the one above, but the article lacks enough details for me to exclude it from today’s line up.

In Tualatin, Oregon, young Chester Friday, who looks like he’ll go far in life in the mugshot at the link, was quietly and stealthily gathering up some property that wasn’t his from a car when he was rudely interrupted by the owner of the property. Chester lunged at the rude owner who fired a warning shot into the ground (again with the warning shots) which convinced Chester that the gun owner wouldn’t shoot him, so he lit out, only to be hunted down by a K-9 unit and taken into custody without a struggle.

    Wednesday morning feel good stories

In Houston, Texas, there was a shoot-out at the All Season Food Store when a customer noticed a fellow climbing to his SUV that he had just fueled up. The customer went out to confront the ambitious fellow, but the thief was armed. So was the truck’s owner. Witnesses say that they heard about thirty shots. One, a Vietnam vet, said he heard the distinctive sound of an AK-47, the preferred weapon of your enemy. Both of the cowboys were injured, but they’re expected to survive. The customer had a concealed carry permit.

In Sacramento, California, a fellow tried to turn his life around by slicing through a screen door, but his efforts went unrewarded when the homeowner fired a gun at him. He quickly un-assed the AO and didn’t leave a trail of blood.

In Olive Branch, Mississippi, Dutchess Gathing was forced to shoot her nephew, Lederrick Branson, when she caught him breaking into her house and he made a motion like he was going to assault her. The police gathered him up and took him to the hospital. it looks like “Odie” will be fine though. I’m glad for Duchess’ sake.

Thanks to Chief Tango for today’s line up.
