  • Vigilante group ‘Oath Keepers’ arrested in Mexico Beach following Hurricane Michael

    We have busted so many people who claim to be members of  “The Oath Keepers” I have lost count.

    A group of armed militia members identifying themselves with “The Oath Keepers” was arrested Thursday night for allegedly violating Bay County’s mandatory curfew put in place after Hurricane Michael, according to official reports.

    Anthony Cusumano, 34, and Tammy Joan Crandield, 48, were charged with misdemeanor curfew violation while Thomas Hubert Terry, 34; Brian Charles Calkins, 31; and Charles Randall Moye, 44, were charged with violating the Bay County curfew and open carry of a firearm — both misdemeanors.

    According to Bay County Sheriff’s Office reports, the group was driving around in Mexico Beach after the sundown curfew in a white Ford Crown Victoria and a maroon Nissan Frontier, patrolling the area. The Ford was dressed to look like a patrol cruiser and every member was wearing tactical clothing, including one vest that stated “tactical officer.”

    When officers spoke with the group, they allegedly identified themselves as members of The Oath Keepers, a militia group that describes itself as non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders, who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” according to the website. The description further states the group’s allegiance is to the constitution, and they “will not obey” unconstitutional orders such as orders to disarm.

    What should have been a great organization to support, quickly turned into a farce.  What I do not need during any crisis is a group of Cheese Eating One Eyed Fat Men patrolling my street.  I am surprised they didn’t try another “Shithouse Siege”.  I have popcorn just sitting here…un-popped.

    In one of Zuckerberg’s more egregious moves, a disabled veteran who runs a conservative media outlet and spent $300,000 for ads on Facebook, and who has a very large following (over 3 million people), has been banned from Facebook along with his non-political coffee company. In an article published following Reverb Press’ ban, Infowars declared, “Reverb Press’s last post was on October 11th, the day of the banning, so it appears the site has been shut down. This is why you defend free speech no matter who is in the crosshairs.”  I tried the link for Reverb Press and get “not available”. Neither Kolfage nor Reverb Press’s owner has reported whether or not any money paid for advertising was returned to either of them. At this point, this appears to me to be as much an FCC matter as a First Amendment matter. I have dealt with the FCC regarding someone who said he represented my cable TV company and wanted to know if I wanted internet service. This was some time ago before I bought a computer for use at home. I told him no, that I didn’t have a computer at home, and had no use for internet service. Undaunted, he signed my name to a contract I had not agreed to and the cable company started billing me for service I didn’t have, so I contacted the FCC and filed a complaint about it, with copies of my driver’s license and other documents requiring a signature, demonstrating clearly that I had not signed any contract for internet service. It was fraud, plain and simple. RCN very quickly sent me a revised bill and gave me about 9 months’ worth of free cable TV. In my view, while Mssrs. Kolfage and Belisle (Reverb Press) have completely opposing views, they both have a valid FCC complaint against Facebook.

    Either Zuckerberg ponies up and gives them what they paid for and restores their access, or they get permanent free FB ads for the remainder of FB’s existence, along with the hundreds of others whose FB pages were abruptly shut down. Zuckerberg owns Facebook, yes, but his facility is presented as a place for open communication. He doesn’t own what people say.

    Jonn posted about our little buddy Charles Clymer  before.

    Charles Clymer, a transgender man now known as Charlotte, has filed a formal discrimination complaint with the D.C. Office of Human Rights after a Washington restaurant asked him to show his ID before entering a woman’s bathroom. According to the attendant, the women’s bathrooms were reserved for– you got it, women.

    Clymer said he was then asked to leave the restaurant after insisting on his right to use the female restroom. The police were eventually called and reportedly said the law was on Clymer’s side.

    After the incident, Clymer took to Twitter stating, “Last night, I was told by the manager of @CubaLibreDC that I couldn’t use the women’s restroom, and after challenging his discrimination with D.C. law and responding to his threat of calling the police w/ ‘please do so’, I was forcibly removed from the restaurant.”

     

    In response to Clymer’s Tweet, Washington D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser said, “I’m so sorry this happened to you. While I’m glad to hear that @DCPoliceDept were there to represent our true #DCValues, we won’t accept this type of discrimination in Washington, DC. It’s not just illegal, it’s against all we stand for.”

    The following day the restaurant offered a formal apology to Clymer saying, “We are extremely sorry for the incident that occurred…” The statement went on to say, “As a rule, we support safe bathrooms and welcome guests of all gender identifications. Clearly our staff did not do so last night and treated you in an unacceptable manner. We are immediately retraining our entire staff to ensure this does not happen again.”

    But that apology didn’t stop Clymer from filing a formal discrimination complaint with the D.C. Office of Human Rights. In a follow up Tweet, Clymer said, “I spoke with several lawyers about what justice would look like in this situation. I greatly appreciate everyone’s support, and I’ll continue to keep you updated on the resolution.”

     

    A few years ago a petition was established on Change.org to have Clymer removed as a contributor on Huffington Post. According to the creator of the petition, “Clymer has been known to ban women from the Facebook page he created and administers, Equality for Women, for seemingly just disagreeing with his point of view…”

    The husband of a woman banned from Charles’ Equality for Women Facebook page wrote:

    My wife, a life long feminist commented on this page months ago. Charles did not like her post. He berated her publicly and privately. He deleted her comments and banned her from posting… She started another page which served as a place where other people who had been unjustly silenced by him could come together and exercise their right to be heard. This page continued to grow, by request of more and more victims of his treatment… Today she was notified by FB that she can not post for 24 hours, and it appears that her page has been shut down. FB did not give her any warning which is the usual procedure… [Charles’] page is not about equality for women. It is about equality for women who don’t piss him off. It is highly censored.

    In 2013 HuffPost ran a piece titled, Should a Man Teach Women About Feminism?. In the piece, blogger Darlena Cunha wrote, “When a man becomes a feminism advocate, and then a feminist leader, the lines become blurry…”

    Cunha went on to say, “Unfortunately, many comments on Equality for Women that have been deleted are by women, and many of the people who have been banned are women. And this angered the women, as you can imagine, because now you have a man running a feminist page essentially silencing women he doesn’t agree with. And the disenchantment begins.”

    So, what’s the solution?

    Nah…my “disenchantment” began a long time ago.  People prancing around for special attention are little more than attention whores.  I could care less why they are doing it.

  • Trouble in Toronto

     

    It seems as though you can’t even go to a peaceful protest these days without some soyboy latte-slurping nitwit with delusions of self-importance showing up to make a nuisance of himself.

    At a pro-life protest in Toronto (that’s in Canada), a peaceful protest was underway outside an abortion clinic. As far as I can tell, no one was being rowdy.  No one, that is, until this sunken-chested dweeb showed up to not just annoy and heckle the protesters, who were behaving themselves, but to also do them some harm.  He damaged their signs, wrote on their backs with marker, and then wound up and kicked the protest leader in the shoulder and broke her phone.     And the Toronto police asked the woman he kicked and injured what she wanted them to do about it. Well, duh!! How about arresting him for aggravated assault and battery?

    Per the Newsweek article, he has a history of violent attacks that seem to be aimed at women protesters. No information is available about what he does outside of harassing and physically attacking women at protests. He did have a job at a hair salon.

    As it happens, he was fired from his job at the salon when the salon owner ID’d him as Jordan Hunt, issued a statement saying “We do not condone this kind of thing”, and the Toronto police did finally arrest him when he turned himself in.  He now has charges against him of assault, several charges of “mischief”, and another charge of assault relating to a different protest mentioned in the Newsweek article.

    Frankly, this creeps me out because a lot of salons are run by gay men. While I’ve never had any qualms about getting my hair cut at one of them, the more expensive places pander to the notion of luxury at a high cost. You can get the same service at a more modest price at places like Supercuts and Great Clips or Sportsclips.

    But now, you do have to ask why this guy works at a salon, around women, and then goes out looking for a chance to kick or punch them?

    And if he is so pro-abortion that he will resort to violence, someone should remind him that if his mother had had the sense to flush him down the toilet, he wouldn’t be here.

    And now, he has been arrested by Toronto police (well, duh!!!) and charged with eight counts of assault, seven counts of “mischief” (writing on the backs of protesters) and another count of assault from a similar incident in August when he pushed a protester into a telephone pole.

    It’s been 20 years since Charles Bennett took the stage to compete in bodybuilding. But at the age of 63, he’s now done something he’s never done before — compete as a man for the first time in what’s billed as the world’s only transgender bodybuilding competition.

    Bennett and seven fellow competitors went before a crowd Saturday evening in the annual International Association of Trans Bodybuilders competition at a theater in Atlanta.

    The competition has attracted bodybuilders from across the country and even Russia since it began in 2014, according to executive director and head judge Bucky Motter.

    Competitors were judged in the categories of lightweight, middleweight, heavyweight and masters, for age 60 and over, according to five disciplines: mass, definition, proportion, symmetry and stage presence.

    Bennett had the most experience of those on stage, and saw his role as more coach than competitor, helping others practice their poses backstage. He also offered diet tips, shared his preshow rituals and helped Peter Moore of Oakland, California, apply fake tan, his hand running over the scars where Moore had his breasts removed when he transitioned to male two years ago.

    UPDATE.4: This just came in from the publisher of the Illinois Times:

    There appears to be a great deal of confusion surrounding the recent Chris Britt cartoon featuring Judge Kavanaugh’s daughter. I saw that you shared it on your website and I know it has been shared on various other social media sites and attributed to our publication. However, we did not publish this cartoon, either in our paper or on our website. Chris posted it to his own Facebook page and tagged us in it, which we asked him to remove as soon as we became aware of it.

    Chris Britt is not an employee of ours, he is a nationally syndicated cartoonist. While we have published other cartoons of his, we had not seen this particular one and had no knowledge of it until the death threats and hate mail started pouring in. I saw it for the first time myself yesterday.

    I would be glad to speak with you about this situation if you would like to talk directly, but I am hoping that you will be willing to issue a clarification on your site. If people have issues with the cartoon, they can certainly take it up with Chris, but we had no knowledge of this cartoon and were not a part of promoting it. I happen to agree with you that children should be left out of political discussions.

    So stop writing to them about it. The fault is Chris Britt’s, not the newspaper’s.

    JBLM soldier playing with handgun shoots girlfriend, police say

    A Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier playing with a pistol shot and wounded his girlfriend Tuesday in Lakewood, according to Pierce County prosecutors.

    The 21-year-old was charged Thursday with one count of third-degree assault and released on his own recognizance with orders to live on base.

    The soldier is a specialist within the 7th Infantry Division, division spokesman Lt. Col. Roger Cabiness said.

    According to charging documents:

    Police and West Pierce Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched Tuesday night to a report of an accidental shooting at an apartment in the 8100 block of 83rd Avenue Southwest.

    First responders found the solider applying pressure to a wound on the right side of his 21-year-old girlfriend of four months. She told police they had just returned to his apartment after getting dinner when she heard a gunshot and fell to the ground.

    He ran to her and began administering first aid and called 911.

    The woman told medics her legs were tingling and she could barely feel her toes, but the extent of her injuries are unknown.

    The man gave a brief statement at the scene, saying the couple had just gotten back to his apartment from dinner. He always has a pistol with him, and thought he cleared the rounds from it when they returned.

    He said he didn’t realize it was loaded until it went off and the bullet hit his girlfriend.

    He gave a more detailed interview later, admitting he was playing with the gun and pointed it at his girlfriend, joking he was robbing her. He pulled the trigger, thinking the gun wasn’t loaded.

    It was loaded, and the gun went off and shot his girlfriend, he said.

    I can not envision what would happen if I pointed a weapon at the Soviet.  There are several different things that make her legs tingle and there are even brief moments when she can barely feel her toes.  However, I never play “Point the Gun” with her.
