  • Perry urges Holder to arrest Code Pink

    VTWoody sends us a link to to a Fox News article in which Texas governor Rick Perry urged Attorney General Holder to arrest and prosecute Americans who planning on illegally sailing to and protesting in the Gaza Strip;

    “The state of Israel is a friend and critical ally of the United States, and the only stable democracy in an increasingly unstable and hostile region,” wrote Perry, a vocal supporter of Israel who is considering a run for president in 2012. “These initiatives to breach Israel’s maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip is an unacceptable provocation.”

    Under federal law, anyone who “prepares a means for, or furnishes the money for, or takes part in, any military or naval expedition” against a friendly country can be fined or jailed for three years.

    Of course the protesters include the hags of Code Pink.

  • That divisive Pledge of Allegiance

    So some shithole in Oregon, apparently being governed by empty-headed ingrates, has decided that the Pledge of Allegiance is too divisive to recite twenty-four times a year at their Eugene, Oregon bimonthly city council meetings so they limit the recitation to just four times every year (Fox News link).

    Clark says all he wanted to do was unite the council and show his more conservative constituents that in this city where diversity is celebrated, their more traditional values also are important.

    “It’s a little ironic to see those who have championed the idea of tolerance be less tolerant on this question,” Clark Said. Mayor Kitty Piercy called the Pledge of Allegiance divisive. “If there’s one thing the flag stands for,” Piercy says, “it’s that people don’t have to be compelled to say the Pledge of Allegiance or anything else.”

    Kitty Piercy also signs her name to every Code Pink resolution that comes down the pike – I guess Code Pink isn’t divisive at all.

    I have an old drinking buddy in Eugene from back in the Cottonbaler days and I suggest to him that he recommend the following resolution to the city council – since they can only summon the patriotism four times a year to say the Pledge of Allegiance before their meetings, they should only have their meetings four times a year, as well. And take a corresponding pay cut.

    How can the residents of Eugene trust their city council to legislate in their interests if they can’t even pledge their obedience to the people? So the city council should only meet when they are moved enough by the Pledge to actually say it out loud.

  • Rethink Afghanistan; The Mayors are Revolting against the Afghan Wars.

    According to Rethink Afghanistan the United States Conference of Mayors is calling for a immediate ending to the Afghanistan War.

    “The United States Conference of Mayors calls on the U.S. Congress to bring these war dollars home to meet vital human needs, promote job creation, rebuild our infrastructure, aid municipal and state governments, and develop a new economy based upon renewable, sustainable energy,” the resolution said, noting that the United States pays $126 billion a year to support the wars that have killed more than 6,000 U.S. troops.

    Yet I have to wonder what happened to the money from the stimulus bill. Because according to Rethink Afghanistan spending one Trillion dollars in one year was not enough.

    And here’s the big picture: “Local governments shed 28,000 jobs last month, the Department of Labor reported, and have lost 446,000 jobs since employment peaked in September 2008.”

    These wars are killing our people, they’re killing our economy and they’re killing our communities. They’re not worth the costs. They’ve got to end.

    Or perhaps it as more to do with what happened in shortly after September of 2008. Now what could that be?

    ADDED Sporkmaster: Oh and guess who have been helping behind the scenes.

  • Hey, Israel, do me a favor; lock and load

    If Israel really wants to get on the good side of the US, they’ll use this opportunity to send Medea and her fellow sea-faring weirdos to visit Usama bin Squarepant’s pineapple under the sea.

    I guess that they figure they can hide behind the “Audacity of Hope” moniker for their garbage scow.

  • This is why DC doesn’t have a voting member of Congress

    The residents of DC send complete knuckleheads to Congress whenever they get the opportunity to vote, that’s why they have no vote in Congress. When they thought they were getting two Senate seats when Clinton took office, DC residents had a straw election to prepare for the event – they elected Jesse Jackson who isn’t even a resident of DC to be their senator.

    Take this complete moron Eleanor Holmes Norton that is their non-voting delegate to the House of Representatives. With all of our economic woes, wars with no end in sight, homeless lining the streets, she wants us all to dance away our troubles;

    The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today revealed two Norton efforts that she believes respond to the recent insistence of people to dance on the National Mall, an indication, she says, of public frustration with the underuse of the Mall for people-related activities. The Congresswoman, in conjunction with “So You Think You Can Dance” producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe, the Dizzy Feet Foundation and the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, will host National Dance Day on Saturday, July 30, 2011, on the National Mall.

    Yeah, the Park police shut down the Mall for a lot of these types of activities because of the criminal element that the events attracted. A workmate tells me that a woman was sexually assaulted in front of her family on the National Mall a few years back.

    So what inspired her to advance this new project and why would I mention it on a Milblog? Adam Kokesh and Medea Benjamin;

    Norton said she was glad that police showed restraint and avoided arrests of people dancing at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, but understood the frustration of some tourists who were cleared from the Lincoln Memorial for a period of time. A lawsuit, which would-be dancers lost in the U.S. Court of Appeals in 2011, and the arrests of dancers at the Lincoln Memorial last week have not stopped the desire of people to dance on the Mall, however.

    Now that’s inspirational. The Footloose Remake reaches Stage Two.

    Thanks to Suzie for the tip.

  • Kokesh and remake of Footloose

    This morning I was looking for reports of Kokesh’s antics at the Jefferson Memorial yesterday and our buddy Marooned in Marin beat me to it.

    ADDED: The Code Pink version;

    Looking at the video, it looks like a bunch of spastic nerds showed up yesterday hoping to be arrested but the park police disappointed them. At the end of the video, when the park police finally decided to crack down, they started giving the cops shit. The cops are just doing their jobs, it does no good to yell at them. Yell at the people who make the laws that the cops are only enforcing, dolts.

    Actually, it’s pretty pathetic to see so many people show up for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial, but they won’t show up at the polls to vote for candidates that will get government out of their lives.

    So was the protest really all that important? I’ll bet if you asked everyone who was dancing if they thought taxes on the rich should be raised, they’d resoundingly support that – but let us dance. Should we be allowed to smoke in bars? No! But let us dance. Ban transfats? Yes, but let us dance! Tax fatty or sugary foods? Yes, but don’t stop us from dancing!

    They’ll vote for single-payer universal health care, but the government should let them dance.

    Drill and refine our own oil and gas reserves? No! But let us dance!

    Well, you get the idea. Silly, pathetic little trolls.

  • Kokesh in remake of “Footloose”

    Yes, he’s finally found an issue that can get him back his former glory which he lost when he quit associating with IVAW. It’s right out of “Footlose” – Adam Kokesh is the new Ren McCormick and Suzie Benjamin will be at his side as the latest Ariel. I wonder if they’ll cast John Lithgow as the Park Police.

    Yes it’s an important issue – should ritarded anti-war charlatans be allowed to dance at the Jefferson Memorial? Oh, I found this link, thanks to Bev Perlson who sent it from the Daily Paul – the home of Kokesh lovers and associated with the OathKeepers. Toss in Code Pink and there’s a perfect circle. IVAW, Code Pink, Ron Paul and Oathkeepers.

  • Kokesh, Benjamin and Diliberto

    Here’s Adam Kokesh and Medea Benjamin setting up for their protest at the Jefferson Memorial that Ponsdorf wrote about this last weekend. I think if I had questions about the G8 these are the last three people I’d ask;

    Jake Diliberto sounds almost rational compared to Medea and Kokesh.

    At about 10:20 into the video, Medea starts telling us that she’s been arrested for doing nothing but standing on the sidewalk. She neglects to tell the audience that she was arrested for standing on the sidewalk in front of the White House after being told to move along by the Park Police.

    This was sent by one of my ninjas last week.
