  • The 64 Thousand Dollar Question.

    Considering all the fammine that is going on in places like Somalia why has there not been aid set there by Code Pink similar to the two failed ‘missions’ to the Gaza Strip. The anwer to that question is this. Real life threating personal risk. Consider the case below.

    Residents of Mogadishu’s largest famine refugee camp accused government soldiers of starting the chaos by trying to steal some of the 290 tons of dry rations that aid workers were trying to distribute there. Then refugees joined in the scramble, prompting soldiers to open fire, the witnesses said.

    “They fired on us as if we were their enemy,” said refugee Abidyo Geddi. “When people started to take the food then the gunfire started and everyone was being shot. We cannot stay here much longer. We don’t get much food and the rare food they bring causes death and torture.”

    You see all that gunpower would just ruin thier stylish outfits and seriously reduce the odd of liveing longer. Plus it was not done by US, NATO or IDF troops so does it really matter.

    Somali soldiers control just part of the capital and are poorly trained.

    “It was carnage. They ruthlessly shot everyone,” said Abdi Awale Nor, who has been living at the camp. “Even dead bodies were left on the ground and other wounded bled to death.”

    Oh and Code Pink continues to ignore how to deal with this problem that many aid groups face.

    Aid workers are puzzling over how to help the starving without helping gunmen who either prey on the refugees, compete for security contracts to guard the food, or steal it and take a share of the profits when it’s sold at market.

    Or how to protect the aid workers without contradicting themselves about the use of weapons for defence.

    Since the era of Black Hawk Down, aid groups say they have tried to tighten up their procedures by screening contractors, having independent checks on their operations and requiring truckers to pay a cash bond to ensure the food is delivered. Some say that Somalia is still too volatile to work in: WFP alone has had 14 employees killed in the past three years. Most foreign aid workers pulled out two years ago after a spate of killings and kidnappings

    So what is it going to be Code Pink? Another useless poltically motivated trip to Gaza or are you going to do something meaningful rather then just talk about it.

    UPDATED: Here is a link to the list of groups that are activly working in that area right now. Guess who is not on the list.

  • Band of Mothers shield John Bolton from Code Pink

    Our buddy, Bev Perlson, founder of The Band of Mothers sends us link to a Gateway Pundit post that tells the story of how Bev and her band ran a blocking maneuver for John Bolton while he tried to avoid confrontation with some Code Pink hags. This video is from Code Pink’s viewpoint.

    And here’s more on the confrontation:

    The Band of Mothers Beverly Perlson along with Gold Star Mother Debbie Lee, members of the Gathering of Eagles and FreeRepublic stood in support of our military outside the Cannon Building as they do throughout the year.

    Early in the afternoon of Tuesday July 26th, Suzi “Medea” Benjamin, co-founder of the anti-war group Code pink, stopped by to talk to the patriots on the corner of the Canon House building in Washington DC to spout her usual anti-American and anti-military propaganda. She left and then returned with a few buddies just as Amb. Bolton was leaving the area.

    The pinkos then morphed into their typical selves and began shouting and harassing the Amb calling him a war criminal and demanding that he be arrested (umm….editorial note… since when does a UN Amb have the power to declare or vote for war? How is he a war criminal???)

    I’ve spent some time with Bev and her band several times at that same street corner and I’m proud to know them. They throw Code Pink’s crap right back in their faces. Good job, folks.

  • Free Republic’s “Last Stand” at Walter Reed

    Tea Party WRAMC 045
    We got an email last night from Trooprally, the Free Republic’s main instigator of the more than 6 years-long rally outside of Walter Reed on Friday nights when the wounded arrive from the Was Against Terror. They began their vigil when Code pink and the union thugs started protesting the wars at Walter Reed front gate. According to Phil, the hippies still show up in anemic numbers, but halfway down the street after our buddy, Concrete Bob, scooped up their corner when they let their permit expire briefly.

    But here’s the email about their “Last Stand” on July 29th;

    The DC Chapter of FReeRepublic invites all patriots to stand together with us at Walter Reed for one last big gathering on JULY 29,2011, at the main gate at Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW. We will stand in support from 6:30PM to around 9:20PM when the dinner bus returns, cheering the wounded and their families through the gate.

    You have been an integral part in our support of the wounded at Walter Reed. This will be the last big gathering at Walter Reed before it closes down in August. Also, we do not know when the Friday night dinner buses will stop taking the wounded and their families out to dinner, but rest assured, the DC Chapter will continue the Friday nights until the last bus returns.

    If you cannot make it on July 29, email me to see if we will be there so you can join us. We expect the dinner bus to keep running several weeks into August.

    This will also be the 328th CONSECUTIVE Friday night that patriots have stood at Walter Reed. We have stood there on Christmas Day 2009, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve,2010, on 9/11/2009, Good Fridays, tropical storms, snow storms, rain storms, 12 degree temperature when the bus finally returned, and each Friday in between. We are on our 3rd generation MOAB.

    The DC Chapter will have banners, signs, patriotic music, drinks and plenty of pizza.

    Hope to see some familiar patriots that night.

    This invite is being sent to some patriots who I know cannot make it, but I wanted to keep you apprised of an end of one of the greatest troop support rallies in history. It is only surpassed by years of support families gave their loved during WWII while they fought for our freedom. In WWII, soldiers were away from home for years at a time.

    The DC Chapter says Thank You for your support at Walter Reed.

    Coincidentally, I have an appointment at Walter Reed that afternoon, so I’ll be there. TAH has some history with the Walter Reed Freep, they even invited me and my wife to their Christmas party one year. but here are some links to some of our coverage;

  • Words and slogans are more important then action.

    One group that I have been following by the name of“Journey to Smiles” . When I first started to watch them I had some hope that it may turn into something useful. But as of the past year or two, all they produce is Hallmark type videos with cliches and naive slogans.

    Now it is full fledged propaganda.

    We send you our love through our friends on the US Boat to Gaza sailing with the Freedom Flotilla 2.
    A fortnight ago, there appeared a remote possibility that two of us would be considered for travel on the Mavi Marmara. It gripped us that we may have been able to share each other’s pain at a closer distance, for a little while. The people of Mavi Marmara and the other flotilla boats have opened up the seas of our hearts. Afghanistan needs a flotilla too, but you would know that Afghanistan has no sea.

    We imagine the blue seas. Imagination helps friends not to worry about whether they’re available for each other ALL the time, or whether they will ever see each other face-to-face.

    20-year-old Skye Miller was our friend for a brief moment, introduced to us by Kathy Kelly, one of our dear activist friends on the US Boat to Gaza. Skye was dying from cancer in a hospice and Kathy had passed her a blue scarf from our silent, peace walk in Kabul this spring.

    We sent a message to Skye, ‘Mohammad Jan, Abdulai and I are typing this email feeling a sadness, and feeling that life must be more than just what we see. It is meaningful for us to give you our small ‘salams’ through Kathy and through the visions of peace colored in blue. Thank you Skye! ‘

    Not to be out done Rethink Afghanistan is claiming that it is gaining ground that three Senators are calling for the withdraw of Afghanistan. They even have a Republican. But it kinda loses it impact once you see it is Rand Paul.

    The senators are right. We need that money here at home, not wasted on a war that drags out for another 3 years. Get them home!

    Once again it is all about the money and the troops a after thought. But he slogans sound nice.

  • Flotilla sinks, figuratively speaking

    The Greeks were successful in that they kept the Code Pink Sea Hags from killing themselves in an attempt to invade Gaza. Of course, they don’t see it that way;

    Now our folks are beginning the journey home – some will arrive today, some tomorrow and others in the days ahead. Everyone is tired, but their energy is strong! They will share their stories and talk about their experiences in communities everywhere. And they will use this incredible time they shared in Athens as a spring board for further activism and organizing.

    Only hippies would be interested in hearing from other hippies how they failed so spectacularly. And only hippies would continue pouring their money down the dark, gaping bottomless hole that is Code Pink. If their goal is to get supplies to Gaza, they’ve failed twice. If their goal is to raise more money that they didn’t earn to make empty gestures, they’re succeeding, but how does that help anyone except the Sea Hags? In fact, it looks like poor Greek who rented his boat to them might not get it back from his government. And they’re leaving their Captain behind facing charges from the government. So everyone is a winner!

    But, hey, they marched on the Spanish Embassy in Athens so it’s not a complete waste. Right?

    And if you’re worried about the filthy hippie punks who were fasting, their fast ended before it began apparently. They only had to endure two days of banana smoothies and hot dogs.

  • Code Pink still stuck in Greece

    If you remember, the last time we heard from Code Pink on their flotilla to Gaza, the Greek coast Guard intercepted them because their boats didn’t have the proper authorization to leave the port. Apparently they’re still stuck there and they’ve threatened a fast in protest;

    Demand that U..S government pressure Greece to free their boat and captain, and allow boat to sail to Gaza

    Members of the U.S. Boat to Gaza have begun an open-ended fast calling on the U.S. government to defend our right to sail out of Greece. The fast has begun in front of the U.S. Embassy at 91 Vasilisis Sophias Avenue in Athens. Fasters delivered an urgent letter to the Embassy and plan to sleep overnight outside the Embassy gates.

    Passengers and U.S. boat organizers participating in the fast are: Medea Benjamin, Ken Mayers, Paki Wieland, Kathy Kelly, Ray McGovern, Helaine Meisler, Nic Abramson, and Carol Murry.

    And there’s no solidarity with the fasters, other members of the flotilla thought it was a little extreme, apparently;

    Nothing like trying to fast with a barbeque going on at the same time.

  • Flotilla halted by Greek Coast Guard

    True to their word, the hippies headed to break the blockade around the Gaza strip tried to slip out of their Greek mooring earlier. 25 minutes later, the Greek Coast Guard stopped them in their wake. (Ynet link)

    Despite the Greek ban, the vessel left port around 4:45 pm Friday, Ynet learned. It was banned from departing by Greek officials citing technical problems, but chose to ignore the orders.

    In a conversation with Ynet, organizers of the US boat confirmed the details. One of them said that a Greek Coast Guard ship approached the boat and that the two sides were engaged in dialogue.

    Imagine that, Code Pink-influenced to flout authorities. I’d have never believed it.

    Apparently, the Greek captain of the “Audacity of Hope” has more brains than Medea and her assembled sea hags combined.

    Somehow, I don’t think the Grecian commandos will be as gentle with those hippies as the Israelis were last year. So far, they’ve alienated the Turks and the Greeks in just two days. I’m sure the Greek tax payers aren’t real happy with spending their scant money on keeping the hippies safe from themselves.

  • Ann Wright: Those Jooos tried to kill us

    You probably remember Ann Wright whom I’ve written about before. She’s a major drama queen and member of Code Pink, Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans For Peace. She also sat on the board of OpTruth, the precursor of Paul Rieckoff’s Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. Well today she’s in Greece awaiting her personal invasion of the Gaza Strip.

    Luckily for her, the Israelis warned Grecian authorities that the boats the hippies were about to sail were unsafe. Earlier today, Medea Benjamin said it was a trick to delay them. Now it turns out that the Israelis were right;

    “It was pure luck that the damage to the Irish boat was discovered,” said Ann Wright, a spokesman from “The Audacity of Hope”, an American activists’ boat also docked near Athens.

    “The damage to the propeller could have caused the ship to sink and those on board to drown. Quite simply it was act of terrorism.”

    Of course, the whole point of terrorism is to kill or injure people, ask those Palestinians you’re going to rescue, Ann. What would be the point of Israel’s sabotaging and then warning you about the damage? I’m no naval genius but, I’m still trying figure out how a propeller could sink the boat.

    [Israel] is offering to allow the flotilla to dock at the Israeli port of Ashdod and to escort the aid on board to Gaza by land.

    Damn sneaky Jooos, being all nice and everything letting the hippies have their way.

    The Turkish Mavi Marmara, which was due to be the flagship once again, pulled out at the last minute, under what appeared to be pressure from the government in Ankara.

    It must’ve been the Joos in Turkey thatpulled the boat out of the flotilla…oh, wait…

    “The delay has been orchestrated by the Israeli state and we urge the Greek government to exert itself as a sovereign country,” Mrs Wright, 64, a former colonel in the US army, said.

    “The Israeli state is doing everything within its capability to stop us from making this journey, from sabotage to tying us up in bureaucracy. Well it won’t work. We are determined.” She hinted that the flotilla might depart without the necessary paperwork.

    Delaying them by offering to escort them to port and distributing their cargo?
