  • I am Sarah Palin

    I found this at Flopping Aces and since it includes three female bloggers who’ve been great friends of this blog, and the fact that it’s probably the best pro-Palin video I’ve seen, here is Skye, Michelle Malkin, Pamela Geller, Freeman Hunt and Wendy Sullivan in “I am Sarah Palin” (written by John Hawkins of Right Wing News)

  • Update on Code Pink’s RNC Insurgency

    My original post yesterday;

    An emailer sends this about the woman who tried to rush the stage;

    Woman who rushed RNC stage last night during Palin’s speech is Code Pink founder and Obama fundraiser Jodie Evans. Person who gave her the credentials is probably Fort Wayne Realtor Ann Eckrich

    Jodie Evans is a top OBAMA FUNDRAISER….with extreme radical ties

    Jodie Evans, co-founder of the radical group Code Pink, rushed the stage while Sarah Palin was speaking.

    Code Pink has a Flickr account which includes this photo of Jodie being interviewed earlier in the day wearing a name tag “Annie Eckrich, Indiana”

    Code Pink’s press release says they were given tickets by a GOP delegate;

    Co-founders Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, who were given their tickets to the speech by a Republican delegate who was frustrated with the Republican party and Sarah Palin, caught the attention of Palin with their banners and shouting about 15 minutes into her speech. Palin stopped talking for a moment to turn to look at them. (Read a Washington Post description of the incident).

    Ann Echrich is an alternate delegate and RNC contributor

    Founding Bloggers, who got a whiff of my post this morning, took it a step further and called Ms. Eckrich;

    We just got off the phone with Annie Eckrich from Indiana.
    She was at the convention each day.
    She DID NOT GIVE CODE PINK PERMISSION TO USE HER IDENTITY!
    CODE PINK STOLE HER IDENTITY!!!

    Founding Bloggers, one of whom is Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit, promises audio and video of that conversation.

    Also, by way of Free Republic, Newsbusters‘ Mark Finkelstein writes;

    There is another much more intriguing explanation out there. According to Shay at Booker Rising, which describes itself a newsite for black moderates and black conservatives [emphasis added]:

    I took the shuttle bus back to Minneapolis, and I overheard a convention organizer named Phil telling a convention delegate that the protesters on Wednesday night got through because of media credentials that were traced back to MSNBC (he told her that each credential has an individual bar code for each convention invitee). They suspect MSNBC this time as well.

    What a tangled web…theft, media conspiracies, subversion. Stay tuned.

    UPDATED: Michelle Malkin links William Amos‘ video post to Medea’s false explanation for how they got the passes.

    UPDATED AGAIN: Here’s the audio of Founding Bloggers’ telephone interview with Ms. Eckrich.

  • DU is to class as Rosie O’Donnell is to _____

    a) Anorexia

    b) Structural Engineering

    c) Lucidity

    d) Grammar

    e) all of the above.

    Everyone probably saw this last night.

    So, it was a little girl playing with a baby.  Hell, even I thought it was kinda cute.  Well, not the DUmmys.

    1. Get used to holding that baby.
    As soon as you are old enough, you’ll be forced to have some of your own.

    6. Piper is absolutely adorable. The whole family is photogenic.
    And Sarah has no business dragging them through all of this crap. I feel very sorry for these kids. Hopefully, the family will have the common sense to keep the little ones from going through the check-out lines @ the grocery stores over the next few months. Geez. A journalism major with skeletons galore – knowing full well what she’d be subjecting her children to – nice call – putting ambition ahead of her family’s best interests. The integrity just oozes from her pores.

    9. it is cute, but it also seems like she expected to take care of him
    just as the other daughters were probably expected to take care of her.

    the way all the sisters hold him looks more like the way a parent would than sisters. and the opposite is true of the parents. the sisters seem much more affectionate.

    i think it’s because they might be brought up that way. taking care of each other.

    Thank you DU. Seriously. Keep doing what you are doing.

    More DU: Now with extra nutty goodness.

    6. Alaska is the only socialist state in the country.

    Um. Huh?

    OK, just one more:

    22. In every YouTube and teevee shot
    there’s Trig – a 4-month old being passed around and handed off from one person to another. This video is appealing on one level because Piper is such an adorable child looking after her little brother. But geesh – it was kinda late at night for little peeps to be out in the first place, wasn’t it? I found myself wishing Trig and Piper were both in their jammies in their respective beds sound asleep dreaming sweet dreams…instead of on public display.

    That’s an excellent point You Who Will Never Give Up.  But, here on planet Earth, the earth revolves around on its axis, roughly once a day.  Being that Minnesota is EAST of Alaska, that means the sun comes up earlier there.  Logically, you can also probably discover that the sun goes down in Alaska later in the Evening.  Now, you may have noticed pictures of the Palin family flying in.  So, let me riddle you this Moonbatman:  If the Palin’s had forced the kids to adjust to the Time Change after less than 24 hours, would you have been the first or the second person to suggest that Child Protective Services be called because they were torturing the kids?  Or, is it your position that children need to be in their Jammies and asleep by 7 pm generally?  Also, an astute observer might have noted that little Trig appeared to be asleep the whole time.

    I was, however, in my jammies when I watched it in case you were concerned.  Little Boston Red Sox ones.  alas, without the plastic feeties.

  • Minnesota clown show

    Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit reports the bus he was riding in was bombarded by bags of cement as they went under an overpass on the way to the Excel Center. He has pictures and videos at Founding Bloggers. Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs has pictures of battles between anarchists and police.

    From Associated Press;

  • Convention coverage from Skye

    West Chester 103
    I just wanted to let you know that one of the best friends of this blog over the last year, my buddy, Skye, at Midnight Blue and Flopping Aces is in Minnesota blogging it all live, so don’t forget to stop by and give your regards. She’s already bumped into the hags of Code Pink and promises videos of the encounter in the near future.

    Thanks to my other protest buddy, Kate, for reminding me.

  • Now, if only we can link her to Haliburton

    If you’re tired of jumping from website to website to track down your favorite and most plausible vitriol to spew at your next Sarah Palin exorcism, you have to go to Protein Wisdom where Jeff Goldstein has catalogued all of the top rumors generated by these supposed intellectuals and scholars. They can’t even coordinate their imbecilic stories because some contradict others.

    Baldilocks says it’s how we know McCain made the right choice;

    All Moonbattery is screeching in protest and in…something else.

    Can you smell that? I can. There’s not enough Right Guard in the world to hide it.

    Big Dog writes;

    It is important to repeat anything and raise FALSE concern. In other words, keep telling lies over and over until people believe them. To them it is important to shape the message even if the message is false. These are the same people who foam at the mouth every time someone mentions Obama and Muslim in the same sentence. When people called Obama a Muslim or showed him in Muslim garb (some of which were sent by the Clinton campaign) the same people did not call this modern political warfare. Instead, they called it a smear campaign.

    From Morrissey;

    If this is what the opposition comes down to, McCain made the wisest possible choice, and in the process exposed the opposition in a way that could never have been possible with any other running mate.

    From Irish Cicero at Liberty Peak Lodge;

    Authenticity is the One-Word Threat to the Obama-Biden Ticket

    So what they concerned about over at the Washington Post? Well, won’t Ann Coulter ever stop calling the Democrat nominee B. Hussein Obama?

    EJ Dionne is doing what he does best…telling Republicans how we should think about our party’s choices;

    By all rights, there should be a revolt at this week’s (now-delayed) Republican convention against John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate — for the same reasons so many Republicans opposed President Bush’s selection of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court.

    You can watch that political deep thinker Jon Stewart try to dissuade women from voting for the McCain/Palin ticket by making fun of them.

    I’m with Baldilocks. We know she’s a safe bet because the only stuff they can dredge up on her is from their own imaginations, and we know she can help McCain win because they’re working so hard at being dolts.

  • On the periphery of the Convention

    There’s an awful lot of stuff on this convention that’s not showing up on the news, so I thought I’d troll around around a bit and bring back some of the news you might have missed.

    Here’s the IVAW misfits in their class photo (yes, I see you, AS);

    Ace of Spades has AliceH on the job getting video and still of the event. You can go to her YouTube channel (and see fake waterboarding demonstrations) or to her photo blog to see the latest. Photos like this (that make parents so proud);

    The Funk the War protest conducted by IVAW among the Code Pinks and assorted anarchists was videoed by a freelancer in Denver. You can watch this video about the horrible police state in which we’re living narrated by a bunch of spoiled brats who aren’t being arrested and tossed in jail.

    [youtube 6CLsVbD1ox4 nolink]

    The Weekly Standard‘s Jonathan V. Last tells us about the police state inside the Convention. From the American Prospect’s blog TAPPED, we find out not all of the delegates are pleased about Obama getting the nomination;

    You have a Hillary shirt and a John McCain button.

    Karen Brown: She was my first choice. Now I’m going to vote for McCain.

    Why?

    KB: I don’t like Senator Obama. His choices are all wrong. I feel secure with John McCain.

    Where do you feel McCain and Hillary have overlap that Obama doesn’t?

    KB: I feel that Hillary would make me also feel safe as far as terrorism goes while I think Obama would be thinking about it. As he said in an interview, I’ll “confront evil.” John McCain said I’ll “defeat” evil. I feel Hillary would’ve said the same thing. I want to feel safe here in America.

    And a photo to go along with the transcript;

    My mentor, Zombie, is still on the job, of course, sending out photos that will be the hallmarks of this cluster in Denver;

    UPDATED: Zombie got in too deep last night.

  • Counter-Convention looking good

    ComeuptoDenver.org has been begging “progressive social change groups” from across the country to do just that for the Democrat Convention this week, and it seems that every one without a job is complying;

    And the police seem happy, too;

    PBR seems to be the beverage of choice for the sign-makers at Tent State.

    And Veterans For Peace are just there to be in rallies – it doesn’t matter what the rally is for or against (CBS4 Link);

    Robert McLaughlin held aloft a banner supporting abortion rights. He avoided eye contact with a man with a guitar who belted out an anti-abortion song: “It’s a baby, not a molecular glob!”

    McLaughlin tried to ignore the heated exchanges around him, shifting his weight between his feet and looking like he was trying to find his ride home.

    “I don’t know. It’s weird,” said the decorated 67-year-old former staff sergeant, wearing a “Veteran for Peace” T-shirt at the dueling rallies Saturday outside the Planned Parenthood of the Rockies’ headquarters.

    McLaughlin is one of several thousand demonstrators in Denver for the Democratic National Convention that begins Monday. When pressed why he was a counter-demonstrator at an anti-abortion rally, he confessed it was his first one.

    “I’m really here to protest the Iraq war,” he said.

    But in the meantime, you can hold a poster supporting infanticide while you’re waiting for the Iraq Veterans Against the War. Pathetic, actually.

    In the meantime, police are on the lookout for Weapons of Mini-Destruction;

    Denver police are on the lookout for stockpiles of a dozen items ranging from pipes to bikes — things they say could be used to disrupt the Democratic National Convention next week.

    A police bulletin sent to officers and other emergency workers asks them to look out for “medium and large numbers” of things that violent demonstrators could use as weapons.

    Also on the list are shields, helmets, gas masks, chest protectors used in baseball or softball, protest sign handles, hand-held radios, chemicals and maps.

    Police said some of the items on the list have been used by protesters before during demonstrations at events like the DNC.

    Not from people like Wayward Bill, the top photo in this post, who writes at his blog “Deadheads United”;

    (ps; Don’t forget Counter Delegates that while you are in Denver, your surname is Amerika. Afterall aren’t we all Amerikans!)

    Well, you sure are, Bill.
