  • It’s come to this (Updated)

    Last April 15th, at the first Ron Paul rally, Hooper (from Age of Hooper(The)) and I comisserated about how lame protests have become this year and how terrible it has been for guys like us who depend on protests. Little did we know it was about to get worse.

    I came across this protest for Food Not Bombs back in May which was scheduled for June 28th. When I went, they weren’t there, but luckily, the protest against Guantanamo was going on instead so I cut my loses and it turned out pretty good, blogwise, not protest-wise. So I got back home and checked the website again – they’d changed the date.

    We are very sorry about the change in date. Problems with the food and logistics. If Bush starts bombing Iran before August 6th we plan to start the Tent City two days later.

    So, I patiently waited until today. Since TSO works near Lafayette Park, he graciously agreed to do a good infantry recon before I committed logistics and communications to the mission at hand. Well, he called me several minutes ago and reported no hippiesque activity not discernable from normal tourist operations. I called the phone number on the website and the mailbox is full.

    So the only picture I have of this protest is this one;

    600_tent_city.jpg

    Well, no one ever said hippies were dependable, did they? But, it’s like TSO said when he called; it’s getting so you can’t believe anything you read on the internet anymore.

    TSO sends this picture of himself looking for the hippies in Lafayette Park;

  • Go see Baldilocks

    obama-betrayed-african-promises5-415x275.jpg

    The other day I wrote about Obama’s inability to follow through on his promises illustrating that point with the school in Obama’s father’s hometown named for the Senator. Of course, all I ever do is yammer…but Baldilocks decided to do something about it.

    Now the senator and his wife make a lot of money, so I’m sure that this is merely an oversight. I’m sure that they meant to set up a fund on their own and/or have their supporters donate to assist his kinsmen. With the campaign and everything, I’m sure that this promise is just one thing that got lost in the shuffle.

    Well. Since I am of the same tribe as Obama, I think that it should fall to me to assist in filling in this gap. I’d like to start a fund to help this village school—and others, if possible.

    She’s gone to the trouble of setting up a not-for-profit organization.

    The school’s principal suggested a minimum of 8.2 million Kenyan shillings which is equal to roughly $129,220 at today’s rate. That shouldn’t be too tough.

    So here’s what we have:

    • Domain name: obamaschool.org
    • Email address: obamaschool@gmail.com
    • Pay Pal Account;

    So, stop by Baldilocks place and flip a coupla bucks in the jar. We have about 1600 visitors a day – TAH can easily put up 10% of fixing that school for a few dollars apiece.

  • Life’s a bitter shame, [He’s] going off the rails on a crazy train…

    (Title from Ozzie)

    It’s about 2:30 am right now and I am in no shape to write this blog post, but I have to get this on the record. I haven’t been sleeping much lately and I have been mixing gin and Xanax to cope with all the anxiety I have been dealing with lately, but here goes nothing.

    If I wrote those words there would have been an intervention by about 2:45am. But coming from Adam Kokesh, I doubt it struck anyone as odd. I had held off posting this for damn near forever, but his increasingly bizarre behavior is honestly starting to concern me, and hopefully some of his IVAW brethren will help him get some help.The first sign that things were amiss with the Cult of Personality was when the Matthis Chiroux drama began. At the time, Sunday June 15 Adam wrote that:

  • Dean and Clark stroke YearlyKos

    2678340608_05fe9be0fa.jpg

    The nutroots have gathered in Austin for their annual circle jerk known as the YearlyKos. To start off the convention, Wesley Clark and Howard Dean addressed the assembled malcontents last night according to Wall Street Journal’s Washington Wire;

    Both men received standing ovations by the crowd (which didn’t look to be at full strength yet, but included well over a 1,000 by Washington Wire’s unofficial count). Many had also been taking advantage of several cash bars set up inside the convention hall. Neither delivered what would be considered barn-burner speeches, but the crowd was attentive.

    Clark officially kicked off the conference with a speech thanking the bloggers for being “a major force in my life” and for their support over the years. Like Dean, Clark was an unsuccessful 2004 Democratic presidential candidate. “You are the guiding compass for America,” he told the crowd, which thanked him with rousing applause.

    Dean recounted his trip to nearby (by Texas standards anyway) Crawford earlier in the day, joking that change was also coming to that town: “It’s going to become a retirement community for George W. Bush,” he said, to laughs and cheers.

    The DNC chairman appealed to the crowd to support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama (not exactly a hard sell in a crowd filled with people sporting Obama stickers on their iBooks) and other Democratic candidates running this year.

    It sounds more like a Bash-Bush-One-Last-Time convention. But “a major force in my life”? The “guiding compass for America”? Obviously he hasn’t read the profane trash that passes for thoughtful commentary on the Left side of the blogosphere lately.

  • My favorite Kossak

    This clown, Ken Tucker, is hands down my favorite Kossak. Dude is certifiable, and absolutely certain if you don’t drink the kool aid he’s serving that you are a wretched human being. Case in point is today’s poll (the man is BIG on polls)…

    kossak1.bmp

    In bizzarro Kos world, it is okay to pick on the old, assuming the old believe differently than you. Alzheimers is joke worthy, and if you disagree with Tucker, than you sir are not only worse than Hitler, you also hate “blacks, browns and gays!” Now how that follows is completely unknown to me, but there it is.

    McCain’s huge transgression this time was failing to vote for an override of the President’s veto on the Medicare Bill. Now, in point of fact, I was tangentially involved in that debate, and was on the side that Mr. Tucker was. (Do I still hate those people even if I spoke out on your side?)

    Now, as for “McShame being AWOL”, Ken, you ever been to this site?

    Let me engage in a little Tuckeresque Hyperbole:

    Vote 174: On the Cloture Motion: Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to Consider S. 2731; Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008, OBAMA NOT VOTING.

    Senator Obama hates black people, hates gay people, loves malarial mosquitos, and wants all brown people to die. Oh, and Tubers, he hates Tubers.

    Vote 172: On the Nomination: Confirmation Lt. Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

    Vote 171: On the Nomination: Confirmation Gen. David H. Petraeus, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

    By failing to stop this, OBAMA showed his support for those who murder little brown children, fire DU Rockets into the sky ruining the genome of Gaia, and continue to occupy a land that without evil US oppressors would right now be overrun with unicorns, fluffy bunnies and gum drop mountains.

    Dude, relax. Take some Xanax. Seriously. The Veto override wasn’t in doubt, and there really is no need to engage in such hostility with people who just don’t espouse your world view. Learn to laugh a little.

  • Blogger Bloggers frozen by Google

    Fox News reports that some bloggers on the Google  “Blogger” have been frozen out of traffic;

     Some bloggers opposed to Barack Obama say they suspect Obama’s supporters — with the assistance of Google — may have tried to censor them when the Internet giant froze their Web sites for five days last month.

    Seven blogs run by Democrats who oppose Obama’s nomination for the presidency were incorrectly flagged as spam sites by Blogger, the hosting service Google has owned since 2003. Google says it was an automated response from a spam filter.

    But the bloggers believe that Web surfers who support Obama took advantage of a loophole in Blogger’s system that allows readers to report spam blogs, the artificial Web sites that abound on the Internet and are used to promote other sites.

    “It appears that [Blogger’s] policy can be manipulated by people determined to shut down the free exchange of ideas,” said Carissa Snedeker, whose blog, BlueLyon, was among those that were frozen.

    Here’s some advice; leave Blogger.

    A month or so ago, TSO and I were out trying match Matt Burden from Blackfive beer-for-beer, unsuccessfully, I might add. TSO asked Matt his secret for getting so much traffic. Burden told him “I left Blogger”.  News you can use.

  • From My Inbox

    I guess everyone is getting the sense I’ve run out of stuff to write today, so thankfully, they’ve been emailing me stuff and I’ll share some of it with you here.

    DPUD sent me a link to The Drawn Cutlass who wrote about a Native American sniper in the US Army who just finished a stint in the Canadian Army and decided to switch sides (I kid). It’s a fairly fascinating story, but each of those guys who stand in the breech are fascinating in their own ways.

    My buddy D. wrote “Four Months For Victory” at The Dillard Doctrine.

    WHO/WHAT: On July 9, Vets for Freedom will hold a press conference—featuring over a dozen Iraq war veterans—to launch a national “Four Months, For Victory” media and grassroots campaign. The effort will culminate on Veterans Day (November 11) and is intended to inform the American public and key lawmakers about the phenomenal success that our troops have achieved as a result of the surge and the importance of ensuring victory in Iraq, Afghanistan and the overall Global war on Terrorism.

    The launch includes a multi-million dollar television-advertising buy in target markets and on national cable that will air next week and run throughout July and August. The first television ad will be released at the press conference featuring the Iraq and Afghanistan veterans appearing in the ad. These pointed ads are aimed at informing the American people about the truth regarding progress in Iraq and Afghanistan .

    Here’s the VFF ad I’ve had in my YouTube account waiting for someone more qualified than myself to write about the VFF;

    [youtube 4p1aKqz0_IM nolink]

    Go read the rest at D.’s house.

    Bruce Kessler at The Democracy Project sent me this link to his review of the upcoming “Generation Kill” HBO project about the a Marine unit during the initial invasion of Hussein’s Iraq. He put a lot of work into the research, and even though he hasn’t seen the movie or read the book, he’s assembled a lot of background on it.

    Jacob wants you to read about the DNC hiding the homeless people in Denver during their convention at this American Pundit link.

    In order to keep homeless residents out of sight during the Democratic National Convention, the city of Denver is giving away passes to local activities and televisions have been donated to homeless shelters.

    A plan has been developed to provide interested homeless people with free access to cultural activities. They include the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and they won’t have to worry about paying for transportation.

    “We’ll have bus tokens if they need them,” Parvensky said.

    Isn’t that nice? For one whole week, the homeless don’t have to worry about what they’ll do with their free time. But then, that’s the Democrats for you – just so long as they do something for the homeless in Denver while the Democrats have to see them, then the Democrats feel good about themselves. Maybe they could give them jobs at the Convention instead…a little life experience. Or buy them new styrofoam cups.

    Speaking of begging…This Ain’t Hell just got it’s first donation from one of your fellow readers. I won’t embarrass him or her but I am grateful. Thanks loads. Now what’s wrong with the rest of you?

    If you won’t send me money, at least send me tips and I’ll add them here.

  • C.H.U.D. Busters

    Our buddy,  LT Nixon,  has a new blog you should bookmark It’s called C.H.U.D. Busters and I’ll let him explain it;

    I had an idea to start a blog that is solely dedicated to the examination of people that actively dislike the troops in America.  I refer to them from here on out as “CHUDs”, which is a cheesy 1984 horror film starring radioactive humanoids living in the sewers.  This is a non-partisan effort to charecterize the different forms of people that slander our military on the internet, at protests, in the media, and in Washington.  I spent the weekend coming up with about 10 posts and hopefully I’ll be able to update once a day or so.   If you have time, I’d love to get any feedback/suggestions.

    There’s more than enough material out there, I suppose. Click on over and take a look at what a Navy officer does on his  leave.
