  • Lawyer sues McCain/Palin for hate speech

    JammieWearingFool found a Reuters report about a retired civil rights lawyer named Mary Kay Green who has decided to spend her retirement years tilting at windmills;

    Green, a 66-year-old grandmother and “semi-retired” civil rights attorney, filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Kansas City this week accusing McCain, his running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and their campaign manager Rick Davis of “intentionally, recklessly and irresponsibly” portraying Obama “as un-American, a terrorist by association,   and ‘not like us,’ a non-white individual.”

    Notice the quotes around “not like us”. As I’ve mentioned before, that’s not a quote from either McCain or Palin. It’s a quote from Obama himself when he once, on a stump speech, warned Democrats that Republicans and Hillary Clinton would tell them that he’s not like us and he has a funny name. So i guess this rocket scientist turned civil rights lawyer turned Don Quixote figures she can sue the McCain campaign for things Obama says about himself.

    The lawsuit claims that Green “suffers terror of the heart, anxiety and grave fear for the life of Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Barack Obama” because of the McCain campaign’s efforts to invoke hatred against Obama.

    She ought to sue that cereal company to which she sent those 12 boxtops in exchange for her law degree.

  • “A plumber is the guy he’s fighting for”

    Cuffy Miegs put together a video of Obama mocking the profession of plumbing by making the statement “A plumber is the guy he’s fighting for”. Now, to hear Obama over the last 20 months, you’d have though he’d have a little more sympathy for a working man. As many times as I’ve heard him tell crowds how he’s going to “fight” for us little guys, I guess he meant to add “except for plumbers”. Here’s the video;

    Listen to the crowd laughing at Obama’s “plumber” line. Look at the disgusted look on Obama’s face after he delivers it – as if even saying the word plumber is distasteful. All to distract from Obama’s answer that apparently is causing him some discomfort in the polls (Gallup says it’s 49-47 among likely voters according to the Drudge headline)

    I’ve got some plumbing experience because the man my mother married was a plumber and I used to pick up extra money when I was home on leave by working with him when I was home on leave – much more money than I made in the Army. It’s dirty work, long hours and every job seems to be an emergency. But it’s absolutely essential. But that’s what makes this country great – folks putting up a shingle over their garage and living off of the sweat of their brow.

    Who’s Obama fighting for? ACORN. Racist preachers. Unrepetent domestic terrorist bombers. Unrepentent foreign terrorist bombers. Union thugs. Incompetent teachers. Americans don’t usually fit into any of those categories. So who is voting for Obama? What kind of person thinks they deserve a portion of the money that Joe the Plumber makes after a day of soldering pipes in a tiny crawl space under someone’s house?   No Americans I know.

    I wrote last night about the elitist swine over at Democratic Underground who are spreading the most scurrilous rumors about this guy because he didn’t drink the koolaid. Well, that’s what’ll happen for the next four years if we get an Obama/Biden presidency. Joe Biden claims plumbers just don’t make $250k…does Biden or Obama know what it costs to run a business? Do the folks at Democratic Underground know what iit takes to make payroll? It’s real apparent that they don’t care.

    Look at how Sarah Palin has been demonized, look at how John McCain went from being the left’s favorite Republican (who they all claimed they’d vote for back in 2000) to a horned devil. And now look at what they really think of the American working man.

    Michelle Malkin’s syndicated column this week is about Operation Destroy Joe the Plumber.

  • This is what we’re in for

    So Joe the Plumber asked Obama a question about raising his taxes. Obama answered that yes, he would to spread the wealth around. It was an embarrassing moment, when John McCain mentioned it last night. The video had been zinging around the internet for a few days, but when it got mentioned during the debate, Joe the Plumber became kryptonite.

    Right out of the box this morning, Joe Biden demonstrated how out of touch he is with America by announcing that no plumbers in his neighborhood makes $250,000 (h/t to Curt at Flopping Aces);

    And it set the conspiracy nuts to hunting. At Democratic Underground, they were absolutely giddy to discover that Joe the Plumber is distantly related by marriage to Charles Keating;

    Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan.

    How close? Well we don’t know…no one is going to bother to tell us. But using moonbat logic;

    DefenseLawyer
    10. How many Wurzelbachers can there be?

    Typical defense lawyer…answer questions with more questions.

    So when Joe makes the mistake of saying Obama tap dances like world-reknowned Jewish tap dancer Sammy Davis, Junior, the Gawker says Wurzelbacher “already talks like a GOP pundit (he’s got the accidental casual racism down!), and his aw shucks willingness to repeat ancient class war talking points to every camera in sight is actually a bit suspicious for a random voter“. Do they have proof that Joe Wurzelbacher is related distantly by marriage to Keating? Well, not really admits the Gawker;

    Keating’s son-in-law, Robert Wurzelbacher, served a 40-month prison sentence in 1993 in connection with Keating’s Lincoln Savings and Loan collapse. Since then, who knows what he’s been up to, but there is a Robert Wurzelbacher who lives just outside of Cincinnati, owns a wood company, and donates to Republicans.

    Meanwhile there is a Joseph Wurzelbacher who owns a painting company in Cincinnati! Along with a septic tank repair company!

    These dots were all connected by a DailyKos diarist, who has no proof that Joe and Robert Wurzelbacher are related, but, you know, it’s suspicious.

    Yeah, at the Huffington Post they’re already calling Robert Wurzelbacher his father with no real proof. But who needs facts? Speaking of facts, some rabble-rouser on Air America is claiming he’s a wife beater according to a DUmmy;

    Blaq Dem
    141. Word has it he was arrested 3 times for domestic violence!

    …according to Thom Hartmann on Air America Radio.

    So Ace asks;

    Joe Wurzelbacher’s purported distant relationship to Charles Keating is newsworthy, the left is telling me, while Barack Obama’s friendship and protoge relationship with terrorist William Ayers is not.

    I’m sorry – – what’s Joe Wurzelbacher running for again?

    So, Obama can go to the debutante ball with terrorists, thieves and racists, but a McCain supporter can’t be related somewhat distantly to a bad businessman? But this is just a taste of what we’re all in for in Obama’s America.

    In the meantime, I mentioned during the liveblog that McCain should use Joe in an ad. So here it is below the jump;

    (more…)

  • Keep your head down, Joe

    Joe the Plumber has become an overnight sensation. Pam Meister of Family Security Matters and BlogmeisterUSA did an interview with him, some of which is at Michelle Malkin. Don Surber writes that he’s also attracted the attention of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association;

    Ace writes that Joe is about to be “vetted” by the media;

    He got “uppity.” He’s a middle class tradesman who dared to express a political opinion disfavorable to the hard left. Obviously, they will have to destroy him — how can they save him if they do not destroy him?

    Well, I didn’t need to be told that. Here’s the Google search traffic for this blog today;

    Apparently they think Joe has some secret they can expose him with and make him look foolish. I guess it’s pointless to ask if they have no shame.

    The Left are a bunch of crybaby sissies.

  • Senator Government vs. Joe the Plumber

    Last night’s debate couldn’t have highlighted the differences between the two candidates more and it was best illustrated by John McCain’s freudian slip when he called Barack Obama “Senator Government” and the most talked about American in the debate, the fellow dubbed Joe the Plumber.

    Anyone listening closely would have heard Barack Obama pushing government programs from education to tax “cuts” as the solution to all of our problems…in other words, Senator Government saw himself as the answer to all of our problems. John McCain, on the other hand, told us that we were solution to our problems, that he saw his job as keeping government out of our way – the same thing that Joe the Plumber saw the solution to his problems.

    Obama finally stopped talking about McCain’s “special interest friends” and started admitting to having a few special interests of his own…teachers unions, community organizers and unrepentent terrorists. He stuck to the same tired explanations that have served him over the last 20 months…and since he’s the affirmative action candidate, that was good enough for many Americans. Since he played the Santa Claus to John McCain’s grumpy grandfather, he came out looking like a champ. Never mind that he relied on the same old tired broken and failed social programs of the last forty years…everyone heard how they were going to win the lottery of life when Obama ascended to his throne.

    John McCain, ever the straight talker, didn’t make promises he couldn’t keep. Unfortunately, he didn’t bother to tell America that there are no tax cuts for the real middle class coming from Obama, that health insurance premiums will sky-rocket under Obama’s plan, that Obama’s pandering to unions won’t save our education system. Obama called every factual disagreement with his proposals an “attack” and McCain shrank from his responsibility to point that out.

    McCain failed to point out that Obama was partially responsible for the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac problems because he wouldn’t act against his own special interest friends and rein them in even though McCain had several opportunities to do so. And that was his last chance.

    That leaves it up to us. As Ace of Spades wrote last night “If McCain Won’t Do It, We Will“.

  • ACORN shenanigans and American culture

    Michelle Malkin finds an entire houseful of absentee Ohioans in Columbus;

    Something smells at 2885 Brownlee Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.

    I strongly recommend that the Ohio Republican Party get on the case before it’s too late. Today’s the last day to challenge voters who registered early in Ohio before the run up to Election Day.

    Here’s the stench: An entire houseful of young, non-Ohioan Democrat activists have used the Brownlee Avenue address to register themselves to vote in the Buckeye State and secure absentee ballots under extremely shady circumstance…

    Seems to me that the Ohio government would want to at least present an appearance of legality in their voting process, but, also according to Michelle Malkin, they have to be told by their judges to do their jobs for the voters;

    Allahpundit’s got the lowdown on a Sixth Circuit court ruling tonight, which orders fraud-friendly Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner to implement a new system to verify voter registrations.

    Darke GOP has quick analysis of the decision (hat tip – Patrick Poole):

    Ace of Spades quotes some of the decision;

    Secretary of State Brunner — a hyperpartisan Democrat — simply “turned off” (in the court’s words) this legally-mandated process for no offered explanation, thus compelling, effectively, local boards of elections to accept all registrations and votes, even from the huge pool of highly suspect ACORN registrants.

    The court compels her to do her ****ing job as the law demands.

    And Gateway Pundit gets credit on Brit Hume’s show for busting the Obama on edits on their website for the constantly-changing story of the relationship between Obama and ACORN.

    So what’s the peoblem here? Government officials who won’t do their respective jobs, scurring around trying to pull the wool over the voters’ eyes? It seems to me that if Democrats (and Republicans for that matter) are so convinced that they have the right message, the message Mericans want to hear, why are they involved in all of this filthy, underhanded election fraud?

    If they have to get into office by all of this sleight-of-hand vaudevillian three-ring-circus, why should we even vote for them? Why would anyone vote for crooks and liars? This goes much deeper than a few desparate polticians…this is a cultural shift. I’m  not getting fed up with the electoral system, I’m getting fed up with Americans – the ones who involve themselves in this and the ones who return them to office.

    Who would have thought thirty years ago that some Americans would trip over each other rushing to put the likes of Marion Berry back in office after his prison term? Who would have thought an impeached judge liek Alcee Hastings would get a new job as a Representative. Who would have thought an incompetent, racist boob like Ray Nagin would get returned to office after his pompous and arrogant failures in New Orleans? What representative would have been returned to office with 90 grand stashed in his freezer?

    In this day and age, what moron would think they could get away with covering up for a colleague who had paid off his lover with public funds?

    Americans have been so poisoned by the moral equivalence BS in the media, that we’ve all become criminals complicit in these crimes and incompetence by allowing it to happen time-and-again and doing nothing about it. We’re slipping into a government similar to the backwater third world countries where I’ve lived in the past. Our infrastructure is falling apart, politicians line their pockets and the citizenry stands by and watches pretending we’re helpless.

  • The Obama tax cut spin

    I just watched Fox New’s Shepard Smith grill Austan Goulsby, Obama’s senior economic advisor on Obama’s tax cut. When Smith called Goulsby on the “tax cut for 95% of Americans” lie and mentioned that 45% of Americans don’t pay income taxes, Goulsby got defense and spit out that all working Americans pay payroll taxes (the latest camoflage word for Social Security taxes).

    Smith called it a “redistribution of wealth” and Goulsby got defensive again. The rebate wasn’t coming from other tax payers, it was a refund of payroll taxes.

    So Smith asked Goulsby if Obama was going to cut payroll taxes and Goulsby answered that a cut in social security taxes would adversely affect the “Social Security Trust Fund” (whatever that is), but that Obama would refund ($500?) to low income workers. So that if their tax balance on April 15th is $0, they’d get a ($500?) check from the IRS, which is supposedly a rebate on their Social Security taxes.

    Smith ended that line of questioning at that point, but there’s a big question hanging over that statement. If Obama admits he can’t reduce payroll taxes, where is the money coming from for the rebate? Since the low-income taxpayer didn’t pay taxes and the $500 can’t come from his Social Security taxes without adversely affecting the “trust fund”, the money is coming from other taxpayers – taxpayers that did earn enough to pay taxes.

    So it is, indeed, redistribution of wealth, no matter how the Obama camp twists themselves into pretzels.

  • ACORN-registered phony voter caught

    I just watched one of the ACORN reps on Fox say that not one phony voter has been proven to have voted illegally in Ohio. Well the New York Post disagrees;

    The vote of Darnell Nash, one of four people subpoenaed in a Cuyahoga County probe of ACORN’s voter-registration activities, was canceled and his case was turned over to local prosecutors and law enforcement, Board of Elections officials said yesterday.

    Nash had registered to vote repeatedly from an address that belonged to a legitimately registered voter, officials said during a hearing at which the subpoenaed voters were to testify.

    Board officials had contacted Nash this summer, questioned his address and told him to stop repeat registering.

    But still, he breezed into Ohio election offices – the state allows early voting for president – reregistered with a fake address and cast a paper ballot, officials said.

    Sayin’ it doesn’t make it so, ACORN.

    The top story on Drudge right now is the ridiculous story about Mickey Mouse being registered in Florida by ACORN. In the story, an ACORN spokesman said he didn’t think the registration form was one of theirs (despite the fact that it had an ACORN stamp on it). Now, on Fox they’re saying that it’s their responsibility to turn in every form they get. So which is it, ACORN?

    Michelle Malkin has many more links related to this.
