  • How unprepared is Obama/Biden?

    You’ve probably seen the WFTV’s Barbara West interview with Joe Biden where she had the temerity to actually ask Joe Biden questions about Obama’s relationship to ACORN, voter fraud and Marx. It all caused Joe Biden to lie so badly, you can actually see his hair plugs retreating back to his ass.  Here’s the video;

    Well, from Michelle Malkin, by way of Bits Blog, I discovered that the Obama campaign cancelled an interview at the station by Biden’s wife, Jill later in the day because of this according to the Orlando Sentinel;

    The campaign cited “an unprofessional interview” WFTV’s Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden. In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was “both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts.”

    In case they take that down later, here’s the screen shot;

    Bob Parks of Black & Right recounts the campaign’s message to WFTV;

    “This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

    Well, if a pretty, blonde reporter woman can fluster the campaign so bad, what will Ahmadinejad and Putin do to an Obama/Biden administration?  DavidL at Bits Blog wrote;

    Republican administrations are expected to deal with old rude hags like Helen Thomas.  On the other hand, the Obama campaign can not handle simple questions from a local reporterette.

    Malkin wrote;

    Keep Barbara West in your thoughts and prayers. She can expect the Joe the Plumber treatment any minute now.

    Meanwhile, Gateway Pundit reports that the LA Times is suppressing a video of Obama toasting PLO thugs while they bash Jews. That’s the kind of stuff that got Obama in this jam in the first place…the media covering for him and Biden. Who’s going to cover for them in office?

    And the scandal that will follow them from the campaign is the story that’s just easing out into the media about the campaign’s disabling of the Address Verification System in their donation system that allowed people to donate unlimited amounts from around the world. Story from Ace of Spades who has kept a death grip on the story all week.

    All of this stuff won’t be buried after the election, you betcha.

  • Fraud; the hallmark of Democrats

    We’ve all been watching, with our jaws on our chest, as the media and prosecutors and judges allow ACORN to subvert the US electoral system, but that’s hardly the end of it. If you were reading Atlas Shrugs yesterday, you learned of the incredible story of John Galt who is a phony donor who was able to donate to the Obama campaign dispite the fact that his personal information didn’t match his credit card – there’s proof at Pamela Geller’s place in the form of screen shots.

    That started a spate of internet sleuths trying their hand at committing election fraud. An Ace of Spades reader discovered he could do the same thing on John Murtha’s website. Oddly enough, the same maneuver didn’t work at Republican campaign sites. Funny how that works. And the media completely ignores it.

    If you listened to Blackfive’s Uncle Jimbo and Dave Bellavia on their “In the Crosshairs” show the other day, they breifly talked about the Faifax County VA registrar who is tossing about 200,000 military ballots on a technicality. For some reason, the registrar wouldn’t talk to Jimbo…I don’t know what that’s about. I heard about the story several days ago from that stellar blogger on all things Virginian, at The Dillard Doctrine (who goes by the handle D. when he’s commenting here).

    The gist of the story is this; The Virginia Senate in 2002 passed a law that required a witness signature and contact information on requests for an absentee ballot, but the current request for the absentee ballot doesn’t mention the requirement of even have a place for the information to be written…so the Democrat registrar (who’d probably bend himself into a pretzel for a felon trying to vote from prison) has decided that he’ll just toss the ballots instead of coming up with a fix (like emergency legislation).

    Like a child, the Democrat Party will get away with as much as they can get away with to steal this election just so the world will think better of us and the media is letting them get away with it, while they discuss Sarah Palin’s wardrobe expenses. Good call, “journalists”.

  • The American Dream is still alive

    According to the Washington Times‘ Jennifer Harper writes that, according to poll, despite the rhetoric from politicians and race pimps, more than three-fourths of Americans still believe in the American dream. John McCain squeezed by Barack Obama in the poll as being the candidate most likely to do a better job of helping Americans acheive their dreams, and more Republicans than Democrats believed in the American Dream;

    Who would do a “better job” of helping Americans achieve their dreams? More than half – 51 percent – cited Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin, just squeaking by Sens. Barack Obama and Joseph R. Biden Jr., who garnered 49 percent. Mr. Obama was cited more than Mr. McCain as “an American dream story,” 58 percent to 42 percent.

    There’s a partisan divide amid sentiment: 84 percent of Republicans compared with 71 percent of Democrats said they believed in the American dream.

    Cynicism surfaced: 11 percent of the respondents said the federal government helped Americans prosper; about two-thirds said the nation assisted immigrants or other countries achieve success over its own citizens.

    I don’t know what people think the American Dream is, but I know it’s not the race-baiting, class warfare drivel that Obama spews everyday. I guess there’s a portion of America that thinks the dream is sitting in front of a big screen TV and watching “The View” while someone else works to pay their bills.

    To me the American Dream is freedom from fear in an environment where I can work and earn and provide for my family without a government that looks over my shoulder and counts every penny I make. An Obama in the White House who wants to “spread the wealth around” isn’t what I dream about.

  • Obama/Biden and leadership

    Yesterday, COB6 wrote about Biden’s latest antics scaring folks by telling us that Obama is going to be “tested” by some nebulous power. Michelle Malkin wrote to Biden, “God bless ya for telling the truth about your running mate’s dangerous inexperience.”

    But, ya know, that’s fine if he wants to play seer and predict the future. In fact, given the events of recent history, it’s more than likely that scenario will play out. al Qeada attacked the World Trade Center a few weeks after Bill Clinton became president. The Chinese tested GW Bush a few weeks after he took office when they knocked down a reconaissance flight.

    But what they didn’t do after those events was plead for people to stand with them like Biden did yesterday;

    “And [Obama is] gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him.

    I know a little bit about leadership having led troops into combat. Never once did I have to tell my troops that I needed their support, that I needed them at all. I made decisions and they followed my instructions because they trusted my judgement. In other words, I led them.

    General Powell, who should know better, Sunday touted Obama’s “potential” to be a great leader. Everyone I ever saw get promoted to a leadership position because of their “potential” usually failed. When I was promoted to leadership positions, it wasn’t because of my potential, it was because of my demonstrated ability to lead. Because I was up to the task, I always succeeded where others had failed.

    As it’s been said, there’s no room for on-the-job training in the presidency. Both Biden and Obama are woefully underqualified for the job. In fact, the only reason they think they deserve those positions is because of their unusually large egos.

    John McCain, however, has demonstrated leadership among his fellow POWs, after the Vietnam War as a career military officer and in the Senate. So why would we be willing to accept a President and Vice President who need training wheels, when we have a trained and tested leader waiting in the wings?

    A good number of people have forgotten that the President is supposed to lead the nation, not coddle and pacify us with handouts. The world is a dangerous place, as Joe Biden reminds us, and we don’t need a pair of crybaby sissies begging us for our support while the dust is clearing from the next inevitable attack.

  • Elect Me and Americans Will Die

    Joe Biden says what McCain has been saying for months; there’s not a terrorist in the world that is afraid of Barack Obama.

    “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

    I would venture to suggest that the Obama camp is far less worried about “Joe the plumber” than they are “Joe the Dumb Ass”.

    Jonn added audio from Cuffy Meigs;

  • Powell endorses Obama

    Shocker. To no one. Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama this morning. The man who coined the phrase “compassionate conservative” (hinting that the rest of us are not compassionate), the man who made the biggest military blunder in recent history by arguing against taking Baghdad in 1991, the man who made the second biggest military blunder in recent history by advising withdrawal from Mogadishu in 1993 is endorsing Barack Obama.

    In 1991, Hussein couldn’t have defended Baghdad against the US, and one of the reasons it would have been a cake walk is because the world hadn’t seen us leave Somalia with our tails between our legs yet – the act that bon Laden admits encouraged him to attack us.

    Powell said he remains a Republican…but I’d like to know how he (and the rest of the recent turncoats) can justify that. Powell went on to defend Obama from the charges that his policies are socialist…Powell just proved he’s not a Republican. It brought to mind a post I read last week on Baldilocks about being on the “right side of history” – another socialist concept.

    Michelle Malkin agrees that it’s all a big yawn and calls it a “Triumph of Hope Over Reality”.

    All of these northeast Republicans (who are mostly a popcorn fart away from being Limousine liberals anyway) jumping ship is not news. They’ve been uncomfortable with the concept of being associated with grassroots Conservatives since Reagan, and they’ve been looking for an excuse to jump ship that makes them look good in the media anyway. What could make them look better than voting for the affirmative action candidate?

  • Obama’s sockpuppets on TV

    I just watched an Obama advisor Brad Woodhouse on Fox News twist Obama’s tax policy as well as misuse the language to twist our whole monetary system into an unrecognizable ball of rhetric.

    Woodhouse said that John McCain wants to transfer “all of the wealth in this country” to the rich when he  described the McCain tax policy. That implies that “all of the wealth on this country” belongs to the government. He repeated the same line that I heard earlier in the week that Obama’s tax cut to the low-wage earners is really a transfer of income tax revenues from higher-earners to lower earners and tell everyone that it’s from the Social Secuirty (payroll taxes).

    I once read a poll several years ago in which 30% of the respondents thought that all money belonged to the government. Obama and his advisors are playing to that misperception. It reinforces my perception that only the ignorant and uneducated will vote for Obama.

    This exchanges I’ve written about here this week demonstrate a weakness in the Obama talking points. Their “95% of Americans” line had gone unchallenged until this week. When they’re finally forced to explain what they mean, Americans are able to see what a thin veneer is their deceit.

    Woodhouse went on to say that the Obama campaign has nothing to apologize to Joe the Plumber over…that all of the attacks on him were from extra-campaign sources. How about this one, Woody (by Cuffy Meigs);

    How about an apology from this guy who denigrated plumbers everywhere.
    The latest Obama commercial claims that even though McCain isn’t President Bush, he voted with President Bush 90% of the time. Well, Obama, when he bothered to vote in his three years in the Senate, voted with his party 97% of the time. They accomplished nothing but a minimum wage increase which has caused our unemployment to rise. So what’s his point?

  • McCain vs. Obama on tax cuts

    The Wall Street Journal reports tonight that the presidential candidates dualed over tax cuts at their respective rallies today;

    “At least in Europe, the socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives,” the Republican presidential nominee said in a radio address. “Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut. It’s just another government giveaway.”

    At an afternoon McCain rally in Woodbridge, Va., a woman yelled out about Obama, “He’s a socialist!”

    From St. Louis, Sen. Obama replied that both candidates want to cut taxes. But he said he would cut taxes for working Americans where Sen. McCain would favor corporations and wealthy taxpayers.

    “John McCain is so out of touch with the struggles you are facing that he must be the first politician in history to call a tax cut for working people ‘welfare,’” he said.

    Earlier this week, I wrote about an exchange on Fox News between Sheppard Smith and Obama’s economic advisor;

    When Smith called Goulsby on the “tax cut for 95% of Americans” lie and mentioned that 45% of Americans don’t pay income taxes, Goulsby got defensive and spit out that all working Americans pay payroll taxes (the latest camoflage word for Social Security taxes).

    Smith called it a “redistribution of wealth” and Goulsby got defensive again. The rebate wasn’t coming from other tax payers, it was a refund of payroll taxes.

    So Smith asked Goulsby if Obama was going to cut payroll taxes and Goulsby answered that a cut in social security taxes would adversely affect the “Social Security Trust Fund” (whatever that is), but that Obama would refund ($500?) to low income workers. So that if their tax balance on April 15th is $0, they’d get a ($500?) check from the IRS, which is supposedly a rebate on their Social Security taxes.

    So, it’s not a tax cut, by any standard…it’s giving one group of citizens money that another group of citizens earned. Redistribution of wealth. Confederate Yankee writes that some of what Obama counts as his tax cut is just not ending some of the Bush tax cuts. Henry Louis Gonzalez at Babalu Blog writes;

    Obama says he’s only going to raise taxes on people who make $250,000 or more. But he also says he’ll roll back the Bush tax cuts on the top 5 percent. Notice that to be in the top 5% you need an Adjusted Gross Income of $153,542. Now a taxpayer that has an AGI of $150k is doing quite well, but is this person rich? Well that depends. That money goes a lot further in Wyoming than Manhattan.

    Obama claims that McCain has redefined tax cuts…but if the definition of tax cuts has changed it’s coming from the Obama camp. A tax cut is keeping more of your own money, not getting someone else’s money.

    Obama wants to spend another $185 billion on road projects and extending unemployment benefits instead of giving tax cuts to the people who’ll ultimately create jobs. His bottom-up strategy for the economy is what extended the Depression.

    When Franklin Roosevelt became president, unemployment was 25%, on Sept. 1, 1939, the day World War II began, unemployment was at 19%. Six years of the National Recovery Act barely put a dent in unemployment. And that’s what those same tired Democrat policies will do in this century.
