It would have been nice to hear that coming from the Oval Office about 5 months ago. But I guess it must have been so obvious that the current Occupant, 1600 Penn Ave, Wash DC felt it was beneath him to say so.
Oh well. At least someone in the current clown krewe running DC Administration is on record now as having called the Chattanooga attack what it was on along. I guess late is better than never.

Krauthammer’s column today is an interesting reflection on this – that Obama at this point wants his ‘legacy’ ONLY and his shining stars are the Itan nuclear agreement (toothless and they are ignoring it) the climate change agreement (which is entirely voluntary and heavy polluters like India and China don’t even look at starting to attain compliance for years) and closing Guantanamo… which he is trying to empty out no matter who objects and how dangerous some of its inmates may e. It’s all about the image and the glamor, none at all about the substance.
He doesn’t even give crap about his ‘presidential library’, which will be built some place that no one goes to.
So, eventually, he’ll just be shuffled off to one of those corners of history that people occasionally glance at and move on.

At least that was no surprise. It just boggles the mind, doesn’t it, that this last-minute bit of shaking the box is unlikely to go through, and they had to announce it before they even stood a chance of passing it. If it EVER does go through, I will be surprised. But by that time, I will have already gone to the polls to vote their silly asses out of office. (“I” being anyone who is a retired senior or a vet and who votes.) The negligence and lack of forethought is no surprise.
