  • The hippies are taking over my Birth State

About 2 or 3 years ago I was dumpster diving at Democratic Underground when I came upon a thread about cops shooting some guy who had a gun.  One DUmmy wanted to know why the cops didn’t just shoot the gun out of the guys hand.  I must have laughed about DUmmy marksmanship for months.

Well, seems they have now infiltrated Maine.  Short story:  150 lbs Bear wanders into a populated area, across a golf course, 911 calls flood in.  So the game warden shows up and shoots the bear.  Carcas is given to some Indian Tribe.  Story over.

Nope, everyone is second guessing the game warden.

    Evan of Bangor, ME (07/20/08)
This is nothing short of an absolute disgrace- even if the bear was getting agitated, the Warden could have EASILY kept his shotgun trained on the animal or asked police to do the same until tranquilizers were obtained, and if he was at least half-fit for his job the Warden should have had darts readily available anyway given he’d been called out to check on a wandering bear. This kind of easily-avoided killing of one of the rarest forms of wildlife we are lucky enough to have residing in Maine is just dumb and tragic.

  • Life’s a bitter shame, [He’s] going off the rails on a crazy train…

    (Title from Ozzie)

It’s about 2:30 am right now and I am in no shape to write this blog post, but I have to get this on the record. I haven’t been sleeping much lately and I have been mixing gin and Xanax to cope with all the anxiety I have been dealing with lately, but here goes nothing.

If I wrote those words there would have been an intervention by about 2:45am. But coming from Adam Kokesh, I doubt it struck anyone as odd. I had held off posting this for damn near forever, but his increasingly bizarre behavior is honestly starting to concern me, and hopefully some of his IVAW brethren will help him get some help. The first sign that things were amiss with the Cult of Personality was when the Matthis Chiroux drama began. At the time, Sunday June 15 Adam wrote that:

  • I stepped in another pile of IVAW this morning.

Meet Reagan Sullivan on left, one of the masterminds of the noted think tank that is IVAW.

Branch: United States Army (USA) [Ed: Canon Cocker]
    Home: New Mexico
I served 3 years in the ARNG, 3 years active duty. Spent one year in Iraq (OIF1).

I had resolved last week not to do anymore posts on IVAW, but sometimes they just make it necessary. I’m going to repost his post from IVAW under Fair Use, and sprinkle in my comments.

  • Shocker: PETA totally doesn’t get it

I love PETA. I used to run into Ms Ingrid (their leader) down in VA Beach all the time. Loved to screw with her when the circus came to town. In a Foxnews article entitled Army to Shoot Live Pigs to Save Wounded Soldiers Lives:

The Army says it’s critical to saving the lives of wounded soldiers. Animal-rights activists call the training cruel and outdated.

Despite opposition by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the Army is moving forward with its plan to shoot live pigs and treat their gunshot wounds in a medical trauma exercise Friday at Schofield Barracks for soldiers headed to Iraq.

Maj. Derrick Cheng, spokesman for the 25th Infantry Division, said the training is being conducted under a U.S. Department of Agriculture license and the careful supervision of veterinarians and a military Animal Care and Use Committee.

“It’s to teach Army personnel how to manage critically injured patients within the first few hours of their injury,” Cheng said.

I always heard how they do the same thing during the Q course for SF. (Jonn?) Anyway, it seems like a good program. PETA suggests using dummies, but come on, this is far better because you have a wailing pig thrashing around etc, much closer replication. But my favorite part of this article is this:

“There’s absolutely no reason why they have to shoot live pigs,” PETA spokeswoman Holly Beal said. The bloody exercise, she said, is difficult for soldiers because they sometimes associate the animals with their own pet dogs.

So, it’s hard because of their pet dogs? Hey dipshit, how traumatic do you think it is treating your buddy, your brother or sister, who just got hit by some jihadi asshat? I never was a medic and never wanted to be, but I’m thinking treating a guy you lived in a B-Hut with for a year might be emotionally tougher than a pig. But, call me crazy.

Jonn added: The medics at the Q course used to, a long, long time ago, have a place called the Goat Farm where they practiced treating gut-shot goats. But I never witnessed it myself, I only heard rumors. But I hate pigs and their stench so they probably deserve to be shot.

  • Why us Straight Leg Infantry guys are vastly superior

When was the last time you heard of some legs showing up at an event and read the words:

Two tubas were destroyed, said Mike Keating, assistant chief of the post’s Fire Department. MacDonald said a trumpet was also damaged.

I always felt that the Leather Personel Carriers were vastly superior to jumping out of a plane, and this proves it.

FORT RILEY, Kan. – A parachutist went off course Thursday at the start of a military review and dropped feet-first into the 1st Infantry Division’s band, injuring three players.

Several thousand people watched as the man under the red, white and blue parachute landed on the 30-member band, about 50 yards off target. A gasp went up from the crowd, followed by silence as at least a dozen people rushed over to help.

“I hear, ‘Oh, expletive,’ and immediately, I hear a crash,’” said the band’s commander, Chief Warrant Officer Scott MacDonald.

Enough of this nonsense already. Today it’s some non-offending innocent Tubas, tomorrow it could be the kettle drums. I think we’ve lost enough already. Redeploy the Airborne.

  • My favorite Kossak

This clown, Ken Tucker, is hands down my favorite Kossak. Dude is certifiable, and absolutely certain if you don’t drink the kool aid he’s serving that you are a wretched human being. Case in point is today’s poll (the man is BIG on polls)…

    kossak1.bmp

In bizzarro Kos world, it is okay to pick on the old, assuming the old believe differently than you. Alzheimers is joke worthy, and if you disagree with Tucker, than you sir are not only worse than Hitler, you also hate “blacks, browns and gays!” Now how that follows is completely unknown to me, but there it is.

McCain’s huge transgression this time was failing to vote for an override of the President’s veto on the Medicare Bill. Now, in point of fact, I was tangentially involved in that debate, and was on the side that Mr. Tucker was. (Do I still hate those people even if I spoke out on your side?)

Now, as for “McShame being AWOL”, Ken, you ever been to this site?

Let me engage in a little Tuckeresque Hyperbole:

Vote 174: On the Cloture Motion: Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to Consider S. 2731; Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008, OBAMA NOT VOTING.

Senator Obama hates black people, hates gay people, loves malarial mosquitos, and wants all brown people to die. Oh, and Tubers, he hates Tubers.

Vote 172: On the Nomination: Confirmation Lt. Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

Vote 171: On the Nomination: Confirmation Gen. David H. Petraeus, USA, to be General, OBAMA NOT VOTING

By failing to stop this, OBAMA showed his support for those who murder little brown children, fire DU Rockets into the sky ruining the genome of Gaia, and continue to occupy a land that without evil US oppressors would right now be overrun with unicorns, fluffy bunnies and gum drop mountains.

Dude, relax. Take some Xanax. Seriously. The Veto override wasn’t in doubt, and there really is no need to engage in such hostility with people who just don’t espouse your world view. Learn to laugh a little.

  • The Undead: Alive and Well and living on Foxnews?

Saw this post over at Ms Malkin’s place and it reminded me of something.

    Remember this?

    detroitx-large.jpg

    From USA Today:

DETROIT — A horse-drawn carriage pulled a pine casket with a black wreath on top through the streets of Detroit this morning.

    Inside the casket: the “n-word.”

Thousands of people gathered in Hart Plaza on the city’s riverfront for the symbolic funeral of the derogatory word. The burial was part of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s national convention this week in downtown Detroit.

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but it looks like the undead stalk us. According to TV Newser,

Below is the partial transcript we received in our tips box, and confirmed to be authentic by Fox News Channel representatives.

Barack…he’s talking down to black people…telling n—s how to behave.

I am categorically opposed to both the undead and the N word. But, as Ms Malkin points out, if the Reverend Jackson is going to excoriate Kramer for using the word, I think he should refrain for exhuming the corpse by himself.

Unless of course he was once again referring to a differnt “n–s” word.

  • A little Historical Perspective

[N]o [one] was seen begging the [occupiers] to spare his life, nor did they in ignoble fashion fall and cling to the knees of their conquerors. But neither did the agony of courage elicit pity from the foe nor did the day’s length suffer for the cruelty of their vengeance. All the city was pillaged. Everywhere boys and girls were dragged into captivity as they wailed piteously the names of their mothers. […] In the end, when night finally intervened, the houses had been plundered and children and women and aged persons who had fled into the temples were torn from sanctuary and subjected to outrage without limit.

IVAW member, battle of Fallujah, 2006

Diodorus, recounting the attack of Phillip of Macedon on Thebes August 2, 338 BC.

This will be a multi-part, multi-purposed post. First off, it is part of my refutation of the Rooney belief that the state is the largest purveyor of crime and violence, and that such is getting worse. In might seem counterintuitive that I would start with an historical discussion of attacks on civilian populaces, but bear with me. This post also serves as my response to the absolutely absurd work by Chris Hedges and Laila Al-Arian (mis)entitled Collateral Damage, America’s War Against Iraqi Civilians.
