    The “Like Button” status.

59% of those who cared about our community voted and said it was a “Brilliant move”

26% of you do not care about “anything”.

14% admitted that they “Hate Everything”.

The add-on I was using  avoided some of the issues related to Disqus and was only good for a 7 day trial period.  There is somebody who claims to be a Capt in the Corps that thinks I took them down because he is Dickish.  Although he does appear to be somewhat Dickish…rest assured it had nothing to do with them not appearing.

Adding and/or changing addons does interfere with other features on a site.  In this case it only bothered a few things we needed stopped anyway.  We will most “Like”ly  put them back in  the near future.

If you have suggestions, feedback, concerns, or general outrage…keep it to yourself for the time being.  Soon you will be able to rant away like never before.  Some guy named Dallas keeps sending me mail wanting to know if everything is alright around here.  I have assured him that we are all doing just fine and not to worry.  He seems skeptical.

  • Pocahontas holds Pow Wow; concerned about Veterans

It appears that Pocahontas, (that Warren woman),  and a few of her friends are not happy with President Trump and some of his friends.  They accuse President Trump of using a group of insiders to help make decisions on matters concerning veterans.

“These accounts … paint a disturbing picture of corruption and cronyism that is not only antithetical to transparent, accountable and ethical government, but will make it more difficult for (VA Secretary Robert Wilkie) to lead the VA in a way that allows him to exercise his independent judgement,” Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, wrote in a letter to the VA inspector general’s office on Friday.

    Oh, and there is this:

“Membership in President Trump’s private club should not give any individual the right to exert influence on decisions made by the VA that impact the over nine million veterans under its care.”

At issue this time is a report released by ProPublica this week that identifies three businessmen — Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, primary care specialist Dr. Bruce Moskowitz and attorney Marc Sherman — as key architects of a host of veterans policy decisions by Trump’s administration, even though none of the men hold an official government post.

Can you imagine a President getting advice from people who are not in any “official government post”?  Why this is just anarchy, the outrage, I, I, I, am lost for words.

Poser Pups, Ya just knew it would come to this.

Any day now I will be getting an email from somewhere out there saying that there is this Dog in Ipschwitz that is claiming fake Valor.  We deal with so many posers you know there is some doggie being pranced around Lowes dressed up as a War Hero.

Military Times reports “they”, the Canine Corps, will soon have an award of their own.

“If we as a nation can strap a Kevlar vest on Cairo and send him on a mission with SEAL Team 6, or we can deploy dogs like Kira or Khrusty or Rudy to dangerous regions around the world, then I think they deserve more than treats and a pat on the head,”

I can hardly wait until we do our first Doggie FOIA.  “He was just a pup during Fallujah and records show he never deployed outside of the United States.  He spent the entire  war with a group of bitches sniffing drugs. ”

    The Horror of it all.

  • Air Force uniform announcement

    Air Force uniform announcement

An Air National Guard release announced this week that the same Operational Camouflage Pattern uniform the Army dons will be available to wear for Air Force units around the world.

But one look at the for-whatever-reason-uncropped photo used in the release makes it look more like an announcement that airmen can now wear whatever the hell they want.

Of all the eyes that military press releases are filtered through prior to publication, not a single person looked at this and thought, “Hey, would matching trousers be a good idea?”

Is this nitpicking too much? Obviously, but is the difficulty of matching OCP uniforms for an official announcement genuinely that substantial? That which has been seen cannot be un-seen!

In the Air Force Times article , Tech. Sgt. Daniel Ter Haar takes some liberty with the Uniform of the Day.   Are Woodlands still authorized in the military?  It has become impossible to keep up with all the changes.  I remember when “Sleeves up, Sleeves Down” was the biggest controversy.  I never understood the need for Air Force and Navy personnel to have camouflage.  What ever happened to this guy?

It used to be easy to tell who was who, I have no idea anymore.

  • Monday morning feel good stories

    From Blakely, GA

A Blakely woman shot a convicted sex offender to death over the weekend after he allegedly broke into her home.

    Photo from State of Georgia.

During a 9-1-1 call placed late Saturday the victim reported she was assaulted after discovering 53-year old Michael Lindsey hiding in a closet of her home. The woman’s 12-year old daughter was also present.

“Deputies arrived at the scene and insured the safety of the victims who had locked themselves inside a room because they weren’t sure if the intruder was still inside the home,” Early County Investigator Captain Will Caudill said.

Officers also discovered 53-year old Michael Lindsey outside the home. He was taken to a Blakely hospital and pronounced dead. He’s believed to have stumbled from inside before collapsing. Prior to the shooting she fought off her attacker with a spoon, a police report states.

Caudill said Lindsey molested a child in 1999 and is listed on the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.

Caudill said his car was found parked behind a motel located a short distance from the home. He isn’t sure if he had broken into the home before the victim arrived home or later.

MJ Hegar served in the Air Force for 12 years, first as an aircraft maintenance mechanic and later as a pilot. She deployed three times to Afghanistan, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross on her final tour. Courtesy MJ Hegar’s campaign

“I see an uncomfortably flippant attitude toward putting our men and women in uniform at risk, by how we treat our allies, or how we treat a nuclear power or how we treat countries that are actively attacking our democracy. I think there are a lot of things that we need a lot more veterans in Congress because of that,” she said.

I will just leave the LINK to the rest of this…

  • Plane crashes after ‘unauthorized take-off’

    q400

“I’ve got a lot of people that care about me. It’s going to disappoint them to hear that I did this. I would like to apologize to each and every one of them. Just a broken guy, got a few screws loose, I guess,” the suspect said, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

At least he had the good sense not to hurt anyone else.
