  • Donald Kimball; Still claiming a Silver Star and Purple Hearts

Donnie Kimball is still running about the mouth.  We posted about him back in March.  He is still a member of the Marine Corps League.  We have tried to contact them several times, as recently as yesterday.  I am getting no response.  Can anyone explain how someone without a Silver Star in his records gets an official plate from the state of Florida?

We have reports that this clown has claimed hand fulls of Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts from his 2 years of service.

His Official records show no award of a Silver Star or Purple Heart.  Donnie has managed to convince some people that he was awarded these medals during The Battle of Khe Sanh.  We get reports of him claiming to have been in RECON and all the other usual nonsense.  He was in Viet Nam and was attached to a unit that did have people in Khe Sanh.

According to his official records he was NOT a RECON Marine.  He spent 3 months as an 0311 basic grunt from late Aug of 67 until Nov of 67.  He then spent the rest of his time working at the E-Club or in Supply.  It seems his conduct while on Barracks Duty in Arlington was piss poor so they sent his ass to NAM.  For what ever reason the Corps thought it would be best if he didn’t play with guns and sent him to the E-Club to probably mop floors and pick up beer cans.  I can find nothing about his claims of daring-do.

The Marine Corps League has not responded thus far.  Its really easy for them to get a FOIA done.  One would think a fraternal organization representing United States Marines would take more interest in reports of potential fraud within its ranks.  We hear this Kimball fella likes to threaten people and such, I guess that kinda thing worries civilians.

If an award is not in your official records…do not lay claim to it.  I can use some help down in Florida finding out why this guy still has those plates on his car.

  • Vets want the Wacky Weed

Not all of us think giving Pot to veterans is a good idea.  The “debate” continures…and will continue until “medical marijuana” is approved for use by the Veterans Administration.

Medical marijuana for veterans is having another moment on Capitol Hill.

As lawmakers work to wrap-up their pre-election work in the next three weeks, they’re also considering a host of proposals that could have wide-ranging effects on veterans’ ability to access cannabis for a host of ailments.

Among the ideas are broadening research into the medicinal effects of cannabis, allowing veterans to discuss use of marijuana with Veterans Affairs physicians, and new legislation introduced this week which would essentially decriminalize the drug for veterans across the country.

All of the plans still face a difficult path before they can become reality. Neither the White House nor VA officials have expressed support for expanded use of medical marijuana, even as advocates like the American Legion have touted it as a possible alternative to highly-addictive opioids.

I am concerned that there is no talk about the millions of people who have pissed their life away being all smoked up on dope.  Do we really need more “research” at this point?  Decades of research has shown that smoking Pot makes most people “feel” good…for a while.  It also suppresses the brain centers for aggression and increases appetite.  My professional experience is most every person who does use the drug on a regular basis is a massive underachiever.  That drug retards initiative.  Too many veterans are already sitting on their couch getting by on a check in the mail and complaining that the VA owes them even more.

I constantly hear about the virtues of marijuana, I also hear about the benefits of VA disability payments…I don’t hear about any study into what the cost is for making all of these people dependant on handouts from the government and now giving them the drug that makes them feel even better about doing it.

Ya, ya, ya, I know…I should be more supportive about giving money and drugs to veterans.  Nah, Probably not during this lifetime.

  • Police raid home of couple who raised $400K for homeless Marine veteran

Well, well, well,  it looks like our favorite little swindlers had some visitors.

Police raided a New Jersey couple’s home and hauled away a new BMW on Thursday after a homeless veteran accused them of helping themselves to some of the $400,000 in online donations they supposedly raised to help him start a new life.

Citing “enormous public interest” in the case, county prosecutor Scott Coffina confirmed in a Facebook post that Mark D’Amico and Katelyn McClure are under investigation, though no charges have been filed.

It was the latest twist in a onetime feel-good story about Johnny Bobbitt, who spent his last $20 to buy gas for McClure when she became stranded on a highway in Philadelphia last year, and the couple who found 14,000 people online who were so touched by his kindness that they donated to a fund to help him start a new life.

I wonder what they might have found.

  • Friday morning feel good stories.

    Friday morning feel good stories.

    From Lincoln, IL

A woman chased an intruder out of her home by firing a gun when he broke in.  Lincoln police are searching for the suspect who damaged a vehicle and threw a brick through the front window of a home in the 1200 block of Short 11th St. early Thursday morning.

Police said the suspect tried to force the door open to the house.  The female homeowner who was legally armed with a pistol yelled to the person that she had a gun.

The person continued to try and get in.  The woman fired the gun to stop the person from getting inside.  Officers said there is no indication the suspect was wounded. The fled on foot.

    From Denver, CO

Suspected thief in Colorado drops gun, loses pants in botched robbery

A suspect was left running from an e-cigarette shop in Colorado with his pants falling down after what police are calling a botched robbery.  Security camera footage shows a man walking into the store on Sept. 2 and attempting to take out what police later said was a replica handgun. But it ends up flying over the counter instead.  “The BB gun, with the orange tip removed, fell onto the floor where the clerk grabs it,” Aurora police said in a Facebook post.

Police released the video in hopes of identifying the suspect and arresting him.  The owner of the store told the Denver Post he was surprised by the footage.  “I don’t want to downplay the seriousness of an armed robbery, but the guy really does belong in the ‘world’s dumbest criminals,’” Chris Burgess said. “He needs to find a new career.”  He added store policy is to give suspected armed robbers “whatever they want.” He said in this situation, the clerk reacted appropriately.  Officers obtained the replica gun in question and say they’re hoping to obtain fingerprints from it to help in the investigation.

  • Justice to convene meeting on whether social media companies are ‘intentionally stifling’ free speech.

Justice to convene meeting on whether social media companies are ‘intentionally stifling’ free speech.

In a statement issued right after executives from Facebook and Twitter finished testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee, the Department of Justice (DOJ) also suggested that the platforms were running afoul of antitrust laws.

“The Attorney General has convened a meeting with a number of state attorneys general this month to discuss a growing concern that these companies may be hurting competition and intentionally stifling the free exchange of ideas on their platforms,” DOJ spokesman Devin O’Malley said in a statement issued near the end of the congressional hearing.

I can save them a bit of time and money, Of course they are thwarting a free exchange of ideas.   Those companies are not in the business of protecting Free Speech, they are in the business of making money and to that end…protecting their domination of the market.  I have several friends that stay Booked in Face Jail.  They probably deserve it simply for being on my “friends” list.  Those companies are all to quick to pull down the speech by Conservative leaning people.  The list of those that have had it happen grows every day.

The DOJ’s move is the first sign of the administration taking concrete action to address alleged bias following President Trump’s public accusations against tech companies last week. It also comes at a time of tension between the president and his top law enforcement officer. Trump has repeatedly chastised Sessions over his decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, faulting the attorney general in August for not taking control of what he sees as “corruption” at the Justice Department. And on Monday, Trump blasted Sessions on Twitter over recent indictments against two Republican congressmen.

The announcement also signals that the Justice Department is paying attention to the growing movement to challenge Facebook’s and Google’s market power.

I am not sure how they might apply Anti-Trust Law to stop all this.  Brighter minds than mine must be at work.  I can’t hate on them too much because The Book of Face is one of the primary sources of Stolen Valor evidence.  Without the blowhards posting all their bloviated bullshit our job would be much harder.

  • Army SFC Nickolas Clarke keeps Saving the World.

Nickolas Clarke never thought he would save someone from drowning twice in his life, let alone in the same location. But while visiting the beach on Labor Day with his family, he and another bystander jumped in the rough water to save a young boy.

“You would never expect in a million years for that to happen again,” Clarke said. “It happens quick; you either do something or you don’t.”

The Army Ranger saved two people from drowning on the same beach on Oklaoosa Island in 2014. He was awarded the Soldier’s Medal, the Army’s highest award for heroism outside of combat.

Although Clarke retired in 2015, his military training and instincts stayed intact and helped him save yet another person this week.

It was about 3 p.m. Monday and red flags were flying as strong rip currents formed ahead of Tropical Storm Gordon. Clarke was sitting on the beach with his two children when he heard a lady yell for help.

“She was screaming ‘Somebody help my kid,’ ” Clarke said. “I looked over and that’s when I saw him out pretty far. I saw just a head in the waves.”

Without hesitation, Clarke and Sgt. Cody Patterson, an airman from Eglin Air Force Base, jumped in the water and grabbed the boy. They struggled to keep their heads above the waves and went under several times, but kept the boy’s head above the water.

By the time the men were able to stand, lifeguards had arrived and helped them to shore. Firefighters examined the boy and released him back to his family.

Monday was a busy day for lifeguards on Okaloosa Island, according to Okaloosa County Beach Safety Division Chief Rich Huffnagle. Although there were only two rescues, the lifeguards spent the day explaining to people on the beach the hazards of the rip currents.

Moments before Clarke and Patterson’s rescue, lifeguards pulled another person from the water nearby.

Clarke is still recovering from a broken neck, dislocated shoulder and injured back he received in an accident while in the Army. Monday’s rescue left him with back pain, but he said it was all worth it.

“Even if I had one leg and a missing arm, I’d still go out there,” Clarke said.

‘I’ve killed people for a living. If you call me again, I’m going to f–king send you to Afghanistan’ – James Mattis

Military Times reports that Bob Woodward’s newest book has some interesting things in it.   It seems the Deep Throat guy is jumping on the bash the President bandwagon.  Additionally, I am not sure how smart it is to piss off Mad Dog.

Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis didn’t favorably receive former Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s repeated requests to get the retired Marine Corps general to appear on numerous talk shows, according to an excerpt from Bob Woodward’s upcoming book, “Fear: Trump in the White House.”

According to one passage in the book, an exasperated Mattis, having answered “no” a number of times already, lashed out at Spicer, who is an officer in the Navy Reserve.

“Sean, I’ve killed people for a living,” the secretary of defense said. “If you call me again, I’m going to f–king send you to Afghanistan. Are we clear?”

To date, Mattis has appeared only once on a network television show, when he added to his long list of Mattisisms after “Face of the Nation” host John Dickerson asked what tumultuous world affairs keep the retired general awake at night.

“Nothing. I keep other people awake at night,” he quickly countered.

Probably all true but why poke the Bear?  Some other things in the book are probably fiction.

That statement was refuted by Mattis on Tuesday, when the secretary of defense called Woodward’s book a work of “fiction” and “a product of someone’s rich imagination.

“While I generally enjoy reading fiction, this is a uniquely Washington brand of literature, and his anonymous sources do not lend credibility,” Mattis said in a statement.

Woodward based “Fear” on hundreds of hours of interviews with Trump administration staffers with firsthand experience conducted on “deep background,” according to the Washington Post.
