  • Perhaps the far left sees Obama as much worse than Hitler

As Jonn pointed out below the far left has for years directly tried to assign Bush to Hitler. Of course Obama hasn’t changed a damn thing that was so Hitler-esque during the Bush administration.

Seven months into the post racial, messiah like administration of unicorns, hopey-changey platitudes and empty rhetoric, what has The One accomplished so far?

The Republicans haven’t been more unified since Reagan.

Independents have swung right by a factor of 20 points.

And now he is losing Air America!

This is Naked Emperor News’s second video on The One’s oh-so-shady backroom deal with the pharmaceutical lobby; the first one was entitled “Obama’s Mother of All Political Lies,” a description I don’t agree with but which Air America apparently does. Watching this, it’s not just the dishonesty of his campaign promises that galls, it’s the sanctimony he displayed in misleading his cultists to believe things would be drastically different under Hopenchange. The pandering during the Billy Tauzin clip in particular is enough to make you queasy. Like the lady says, “a charming liar.”

File the fascist bit at the end away for the next time David Letterman or MSNBC or whoever wrings their hands about heated rhetoric at the town-hall protests.

To be honest Hitler is only implied by the fascist label but perhaps the left views Obama as far worse and more sinister than even Hitler.

    Here’s the money quote:

“It makes me puke that we have just been ‘Cheneyed’ by a guy named Barack Obama”

If this far left “turning on their master” trend continues it’s going to become clear even to Rahm and the boys that the Chicago Way isn’t working.

The only one laughing is Jimmy Carter.

  • This is not Going to End Well

I have actually been in this exact position but it didn’t turn out this way. Of course that was because I am neither a criminal nor a complete idiot.

This adventure will not have a happy ending for either party.

VILSECK, Germany — A manhunt is under way for a U.S. Special Forces soldier who fled after being convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a German woman.

Sgt. 1st Class Kelly A. Stewart — who was found guilty of multiple charges including kidnapping, forcible sodomy and aggravated sexual assault of a woman in an August 2008 incident — was last seen early Thursday morning by his escort at an on-post hotel.

Stewart is clearly a dangerous and violent person and the first priority for the authorities should be to regain control of this individual asap.

The obvious question remains, how the hell did a guy with a sheet like this manage to escape custody?

Sgt. 1st Class Detrick Hampton, a member of Stewart’s unit, was sharing a room with Stewart at the Kristall Inn, Vilseck’s on-post hotel.

At Thursday’s sentencing hearing, Hampton told the military judge that he last saw Stewart before drifting off to sleep early in the morning. When he awoke around 7:30 a.m., Stewart was missing, along with his Class A uniform, wallet, two cell phones and a rented black Audi Q5 SUV, Hampton said.

It was not clear whether Stewart had a weapon.

So I see two possible reasons how a convicted violent felon managed to abscond so easily.

Either SFC Hampton was complicit in the escape, essentially taking off the cuffs and telling Stewart “It’s all good bro. Don’t forget to hit my FaceBook page from time to time.”

    Or…

Hampton is a complete moron who should not be a Sergeant First Class and sure as hell not one wearing a Green Beret.

  • This Whole Healthcare Thing Would be in Deep Shit If….

…there was a spoonful of integrity in the entire Congress.

This right here is getting fun, I don’t care who you are.

Pelosi is in full communist mode on the public option and is promising to stand her ground.

Speaking at a news conference in San Francisco, Pelosi told reporters that a public option will “keep insurance companies honest.”

“There’s no way I can pass a bill in the House of Representatives without a public option,” the California Democrat said, according to wire reports. “Unless someone comes up with a better idea, that’s how we’re going forth in the House.”

Pelosi reportedly added: “If someone can come up with a better idea, let them put it on the table, we haven’t heard that yet. … So we’re fighting very hard for the public option.”

This Bill has to originate in the House and the Speaker says it won’t get a floor vote without a public option.

And the President himself today Guaranteed a victory in healthcare reform.

“I guarantee you … we are going to get health care reform done. And I know that there are a lot of people out there who have been hand-wringing, and folks in the press are following every little twist and turn of the legislative process,” Obama told a caller to Philadelphia-based radio talk show host Michael Smerconish during a broadcast from the White House Diplomatic Reception Room.

    The only problem is…

Meantime, the Senate seems likely to drop the controversial plan from any bill it proposes. Sen. Kent Conrad (D-S.D.), a key negotiator on the Finance Committee, has emphatically said there aren’t enough votes in the Senate to approve a bill with a government-run option.

“It’s very clear that there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option,” Conrad said Thursday on Fox Business Network.

This has the makings of some terrific political theater if all of these Dems had the honor to stand on their principals. But they don’t and never intended to. The plan was fairly simple. Start by re-naming it, pork it up a bit, cut a few more illegal deals like the White House did with the pharmaceutical industry, pork it up some more at 3:00 am and then ram it through.

At least that was the plan until the citizens rose up and pushed the criminals off their timeline and in this case the timeline is everything.

You see Democrats always claim to be falling on their swords and wind up falling in line. Even the so-called Blue Dogs (I prefer to call them card tables) talk a big game but always back up the socialists when it matters.

This time might be different. Here is why.

It is often hard to figure out what a Democrat really stands for but one thing is for sure. They all want to stay in power. And this issue has put some big Democrats in jeopardy of losing the only job most of them ever would be able to hold for more than two months. Not to mention losing the ability to make themselves and their immediate family members millionaires.

When you have heavy weights like Harry Reid and Chris Dodd in deep shit, you can count on these two clowns to do all that is possible to keep their jobs. The problem is that in order to do that Reid has to lurch right in Nevada and Dodd has to lurch left in Connecticut. Starting to see the Obama dilemma here?

We’ll see what happens but there are two things I know.

    1. The Republicans absolutely must avoid falling for some bullshit re-naming exercise like co-ops or anything else.
    2. The Obama White House is in full panic mode and he knows his entire presidency rides on this.

Keep the popcorn and beer handy the fun is not over.

  • National Airborne Day

Welcome paratroopers from far and wide that may have surfed their way over to TAH.

The above photo is your humble blogger circa 1984 or 1985. The most astute among you will be able to identify the unit that I was in at the time based on the photo and time hack.

Whoever is first (not a regular at TAH) I’ll buy a beer. Not that it’s that tough but I like beer and hate drinking alone.

Note how drenched in sweat I am. I forgot how much work went into this whole static line thingy. Fortunately I overcame that and finished my career in a purely HALO mode.

  • Things are Getting Interesting in Pennsylvania

The latest polls in the Keystone State are all the news today and it’s all bad for slime ball Arlen Specter.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Pennsylvania voters shows 48% would vote for Toomey if the election were held today. Just 36% would vote for Specter while four percent (4%) prefer a third option, and 12% are not sure.
These figures reflect a dramatic reversal since June. At that time, before the public health care debate began, Specter led Toomey by eleven.

The early betting has always pitted turncoat Specter against the conservative Toomey next November. But with Specter tanking this rapidly, perhaps we should look a little closer at Specter’s primary challenger Rep. Joe Sestak.

Sestak is a Naval Academy graduate who served 31 years in the surface fleet and has two advanced degrees from Harvard. So far so good I guess. But I found several articles referring to his military service and they sometimes called him a retired Vice Admiral (three star) and other times a Rear Admiral (two star).

Here at TAH we pride ourselves on being as accurate as possible and I wanted to get the Admiral’s rank correct. What I discovered is a very interesting story that will certainly become much bigger news if Sestak manages to upset Specter in the Primary.

Louis Jacobson did a bio of the good admiral for Real Clear Politics in June 2009.

However, Sestak’s Navy career ended in a less-than-ideal fashion. In July 2005 – within a week of Adm. Michael Mullen’s swearing-in as chief of naval operations – Sestak was dismissed as deputy chief of naval operations due to a “poor command climate,” according to the Navy Times. (Mullen was later named chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, meaning that the two men now periodically face off in Congressional hearing rooms.)

For those unfamiliar with how senior officers can get “reassigned”, suffice it to say that this is a major bombshell headed for the deck of the USS Sestak!

You see Sestak was a Vice Admiral and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations but got fired. Realizing his career was over he opted to retire. He retired prior to serving the minimum amount of time at the Vice Admiral rank and so was retired as a Rear Admiral.

Back to the “poor command climate” cited reason for being shit canned.

As a rule being relieved for “poor command climate” means you are grossly incompetent or a douche bag of biblical proportions. Given his education and experience it is unlikely that competence was the issue and believe me reaching that level of douche-baggery in the Pentagon is no small feat.

Perhaps his first term in the House of Representatives gives us some insight.

However, Sestak’s subsequent management of his Congressional office has only solidified the perception that he is a taskmaster with a prickly streak.

According to Legistorm, a website that tracks Congressional staff salaries, Sestak has run through 61 staffers since he was sworn in. By comparison, three other Pennsylvania Democrats elected to the House in the same year – Reps. Chris Carney, Patrick Murphy and Jason Altmire – got by with just 25, 26 and 28 staffers, respectively, over that same period.

A relief for cause does require a special Officer Evaluation Report which Sestak will of course never release but damn, that would be some good reading.

If you live in Pennsylvania and Sestak gets by Specter you can look forward to seeing way more about this story in a mailer next summer.

    Interesting times.

  • THE Regiment Gets a New Boss…

    ranger_hdr_22
And not surprisingly another in a long list of studs to get the coveted position of Commander of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Naturally he brings a rather impressive resume to the job.

Kurilla has served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in 3/505 PIR, 82d Airborne Division where he participated in Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Shield/Storm and subsequently as a Rifle Platoon Leader in the 3d Ranger Battalion.

Following the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division in Korea where he served as a Mechanized (BFV) Company Commander and returned to the 75th Ranger Regiment and subsequently 3d Ranger Battalion where he served as the Regimental Training Officer, Battalion S4, and Rifle Company Commander participating in Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti).

Kurilla was assigned to the 173d Airborne Brigade where he served as Battalion S3 in 1st Battalion, 508th Airborne Battalion Combat Team, Brigade S3 of the 173d Airborne Brigade, and Chief of Operations for the Southern European Task Force (Airborne), participating in numerous missions in support of Operation Joint Forge (Bosnia) and Operation Joint Guardian (Kosovo). He subsequently served as Aide de Camp to the Commanding General of the United States Army Europe and 7th Army. Colonel Kurilla commanded 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry (Stryker) “Deuce Four” deploying the battalion to Operation Iraqi Freedom from Oct 2004 – Sep 2005 where the battalion earned the Valorous Unit Award. Colonel Kurilla subsequently commanded 2d Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where the battalion participated in numerous deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

If you are a fan of Michael Yon, you will certainly recognize the name. Col. Kurilla was commander of 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment during some of the fiercest fighting in Iraq and Yon was along for the ride.

When you have a battalion commander get shot at close range and refuse evac and continue to fight, you have a real Ranger commander. I’m happy believing that the Ranger Regiment is in good hands.

  • Hey Iran, About Those Three Kids You Captured, You Can Keep Them

I’ve been watching this story about the three Americans who “accidentally” hiked into Iran and managed to get themselves snagged by the Mullah authorities.

WASHINGTON — The United States said Friday it was investigating reports that three Americans have been abducted in northern Iraq.

“Embassy Baghdad is aware of the reports and is investigating,” State Department deputy spokesman Robert Wood said, referring to reports he said were on Al-Jazeera Television, an Arab satellite station based in Qatar.

My bride’s initial reaction was something akin to “What the hell were these dumbasses thinking?” Me, being indeed a Crotchety Old Bastard couldn’t help but suspect something more substantial than routine dumb-assery.

So, let’s take a little closer look at our gang of unfortunate and totally innocent “hikers”.

First we have Shane Bauer. Shane has a degree in “Peace and Conflict Studies” from…you guessed it…Berkley. He also has solid bona fides in the far left media world having written for The Nation and reported for the always pro-American Al Jazeera. Oh and lest I be negligent, I must point out that he speaks fluent Arabic and lives in “drumroll please” Damascus, Syria.

Next we have Sarah Shourd. Sarah is also a product of the ever progressive California education system. Her writing is so unhinged anti-Israel that it lends one to suspect that she is not in captivity at all but interviewing to be the mouth piece for Mookie I’m-A-Dinner-Jacket. Interestingly she also resides in Damascus, Syria.

Lastly we have Joshua Fattal whose father hails from Iraq. While our first two “hikers” seem to be your garden variety far left, anti-Israeli, terrorist sympathizers, Mr. Fattal is a true free thinking enviro-wacko.

Josh lives at the Aprovecho Research Center in Cottage Grove, Oregon which is little more than a government subsidized hippie commune. He holds a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy and is probably totally down with Obama’s Regulatory Czar who thinks it would be a grand idea if pigs and cows could sue people and actually be in court.

These three individuals are never going to be productive Americans so I say the Mullahs should keep them.

Now I’m not saying it’s okay for the Iranian Army to run about kidnapping Americans but if Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid want to go “hiking”, I some suggested places to do it.

  • Todd and Sarah Palin to Divorce?

    UPDATE: Sarah’s Facebook says it’s 100% bullshit.

This just popped into my super secret in box.

AlaskaReport has learned this morning that Todd Palin and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin are to divorce. Multiple sources in Wasilla and Anchorage have confirmed the news.

A National Enquirer story exposing previous affairs on both sides led to a deterioration of their marriage and the stress from that led to Palin’s resignation as governor of Alaska.

The Palins were noticeably not speaking to each other at last Sunday’s resignation speech in Fairbanks.

Sarah has recently purchased land in Montana and is considering moving the family there. Sarah is originally from Idaho.

Todd Palin told Fox News last week that he was heading back to his job in the oil fields of Alaska.

Breaking story, we’ll post more when we get it….

Now before anybody gets too worked up, consider the sources cited in the article. The National Enquirer and a far left blogger from Alaska.

Sounds more like lefty crap than anything else but I like to shake stuff up on the weekends.

Of course the Enquirer did scoop the whole Edwards affair and love child.

    Stay tuned folks.
