PEOPLE ON THE RISE TO COUNTER MIKEY WEINSTEIN

We have written about Mikey Weinstein and his militant bullying via the legal system for years.  It now seems the effort to stand up to the likes of Mikey and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation is on the rise.   Mikey and his ilk are anything but supportive of religious freedom in the  military.  The ACLJ has begun to push back.  There is a great article over at  christianfighterpilot.com.

One would hope most military leaders were aware of Mikey Weinstein and his disdain for Christian service members by now (guidance on dealing with Weinstein was published by the Air Force nearly a decade ago), yet there remain some who are blissfully ignorant — and who could therefore use some mentorship from their senior leaders. Then, of course, there are those in the military chain of command who support Weinstein’s bigotry; they could use a bit of “focused” leadership attention, as well.

The systemic problem with the MRFF has everything to do with Mikey Weinstein.  I firmly believe he is little more than a charlatan who found a niche to get some people whipped up into enough of  an emotional fervor to throw money in his direction.  Even Seth Andrews of thethinkingatheist, who attacked me for trying to bring some balance to his discussion on religion in the military, has recently dimmed his view of Mikey.  He now states that Mikey is no longer his “cup of tea” and how he is a bit too much “in your face”.

All hucksters like Weinstein paint themselves as the protagonist defending their flock from a generally fictitious and hysterically inflated evil.   It is about time the military and veteran community at large begin to push back.  Jesse Duplantis, the televangelist, says God wants him to have a new jet airplane but at least he is  honest about what he is going to do with  the money.  The bulk of what the MRFF collects goes to Mikey insofar as I can tell.

Most of our regular readers know I am an ardent Atheist.  However, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone who is having their right to free religious expression trod upon by the likes Mikey Weinstein.  Being an American requires its citizens to stand and defend the right of their neighbor to prose on about that which they themselves have spent a lifetime in opposition.   The notion that I, as an Atheist, have been burdened in anyway by being exposed to the religious expression of others is ludicrous.  I bow my head during public prayer and stand silent out of respect for my brothers with whom I serve.   The vast majority of those I served with were Christians and the finest men I have ever known.

I have come to believe Mikey Weinstein has crafted his cause to do nothing more than stuff his own pockets by bilking the gullible out  of money.  He and the MRFF do not represent the interests of veterans be they Christian, Muslim, Jew or Atheist.

I can not f’ing believe this prick’s behavior. How much does Mikey hate his own life to act like this? Does his very Christian wife cuck him on the reg?
    WHAT IS YOUR DEAL?!

    1. Graybeard

His wife is Christian? Poor lady, my prayers go up for her.

As for Mikey – I hope the ACLJ exposes his fakery and hits him right in the pocketbook – hard!

      1. Roh-Dog

GB, I was floating theories, i.e. Mikey was abducted by aliens that probed him with a crucifix-shaped object.

        1. Graybeard

Oops. OK Roh-Dog. Thought you knew something I didn’t. Well, frankly, I still think you know stuff I don’t, but…

          1. Roh-Dog

No worries. The only thing I’m sure of is I know nothing.
That and Mikey is a dick.

“The only thing I’m sure of is I know nothing. That and Mikey is a dick.”

I agree with you, but I don’t call myself an atheist, I prefer to say that I don’t believe in any religions. Atheists have in my opinion painted themselves to be as bad as the religion they claim to dislike. They try to use the courts to force all people to their way of thinking. I don’t know of any religion except radical islam that does that. Whether you believe or not is a private matter and shouldn’t concern others. I bow my head in prayer out of respect for my hosts or for the occasion and it doesn’t affect me – so why complain? Now, there’s a few religions and some overly zealous people that try to come to my home and talk to me, I politely tell them to leave and that’s that. No big deal. I don’t go around yakking about my non-belief views and my religious friends know and respect my decision.

I suspect the too-vociferous posturing conceals some deep-seated shame or fear… if he whines loudly and long enough, he can maybe convince himself that whatever he has done will not draw divine attention. It’s kind of sad when you have a belief system that at best just allows you to break even (see Pascal’s Wager). To each his own, though-but that also means you leave others’ beliefs alone. Even the muzzies… as long as they stay out of our faces.

Most of us are well familiar with Mikey, his hefty salary, and his way of doing business. Whether he is merely a shill, like some hawker of a lousy as-seen-on-TV cleaning product, or he sincerely believes what he espouses, I do not know. He has only one target, the US military, and a take on the 1st A’s Establishment Clause that is absolute and rigid. In large part, we can thank the Supreme Court for that. Those lawyers in black robes have been effectively rewriting that clause for decades now, and they still cannot decide what it means. The plain language baffles them, especially that part about “prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” the part of the clause that many people overlook in favor of that first part. As for Mikey, or Benito, he’ll be Mikey, until the coffers dwindle–or he passes on and says, “Whoops.”

Oh come on! Legislation from the bench isn’t a real thing!

Next you’ll tell us that Area 51 is a real place and that we have troops in Syria….

      1. Ex-PH2

You mean… Area 51 isn’t real? But I saw those guys spying on the Lake Groom base and getting a verbal smackdown from one of the PR people!

        Is nothing sacred any more?

        1. Hondo

Area 51 is real. See the 14 September 2017 issue of Popular Mechanics (along with as multiple other sources published over the last two decades).

The alien spacecraft and technology purportedly hidden there . . . well, I kinda have my doubts about those. (smile)

          1. SFC D

Your doubts are valid. The aliens are here.

            1. Hondo

Don’t think they’re still there any more. Google maps photo view now shows about a 40-foot gap in the fence at around the 2 o’clock position (N = 12 o’clock).

              (smile)

              1. SFC D

On the west end of the visible concrete pad, there’s a double blast door about 25 ft tall. Goes back into the hill. That’s where we keep the aliens.

                (smile)

The Establishment clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring religion over non-religion, or non-religion over religion.

And therein lies the rub; the word “unduly” has never clearly defined.

      Cornell Law Link

      1. 2/17 Air Cav

That word in that phrase is oft repeated and bandied about left and right, but I can’t find it in a Supreme Court decision. Maybe someone can point me to it, if it exists.

  6. Veritas Omnia Vincit

As a fellow heathen infidel I could not have said this better Mr. Hardin!

Because I don’t believe the symbolism of faith affects me in no way at all. The sight of a cross or star of David or other religious paraphernalia is no concern of mine. As you state bowing my head out of respect for those who believe while we are together doesn’t hurt me at all. I’ve done all of those.

This dipshit Weinstein being offended by a bible or a cross is just another fraud trying to make a buck without actually working for a living. Lazy fat fuck ought to crawl back under his rock and stay there.

    1. SFC D

I would happily offend Mikey upside his head with a Bible, Torah, Book of Mormon, any and every religious book I could get my hands on, to include a blank notebook to represent non-believers. Repeatedly.

      1. 11B-Mailclerk

So, you are gonna throw the book at him.

        Apt.

I sometimes wonder if the most irritating thing we could do to him is keep telling him, over and over:

“That’s OK, Mikey, You are Forgiven!”

  7. Ex-PH2

Mikey Weinstein is a horse’s ass.

(No insult meant to horses of any kind.)

One of these days, he’ll piss off someone like me, who will dump an entire tankard of cold, cold, near freezing cold water down his pants in the middle of a blizzard and tell him to jam it up his behind.

People on power trips like Mikey are bound to run headlong into a brick wall at some point, and he’s heading straight toward it.

    1. My ass is offended

    2. Ex-PH2

I did not know that you had a pet burro. 🙂

  8. SFC D

Mikey Weinstein only worships at the altar of Mikey Weinstein and the almighty dollar. Fuckstick.

  9. Roger in Republic

As an Orthodox Heathen I support all religions except those that are against any of the others.

  10. A Proud Infidel®™️

Well said, Dave, and I also wonder what other issues Mikey Whinestein has, maybe a flaming case of closeted homosexuality along with a fetish for blowing winos behind bus stops?

  11. Ex-PH2

Is it just me, or is Mikey getting chunky?

    1. He was chunky, now just a fat ass.

      1. Mason

The rest of his body still has a bit to catch up to his fat head.

        1. HMC Ret

He passed chunky about 40 pounds ago. Now he’s close to morbidly obese, which if I recall is defined as being 100 pounds in excess of one’s ideal weight. Most of that excess weight is from chowing down at communion.

  12. Usafvet509

No disrespect to the likes of Dave, but this joke strikes me: An atheist, a vegan and a crossfitter all walk into a bar. I only know cause they told everybody in the bar within a minute

    1. None taken. I know exactly what you mean. During my career in the military I doubt if most people knew my religious views or gave a shit to know.

I believe Mikey just seen an opportunity to exploit those who are easily manipulated into Recreational Outrage.

You left out “Fighter Pilot” Usavet.

“People on the Rise To Counter Christofascism”

Oh! Boo hoo hoo, poor oppressed ‘Christians’ can’t tolerate being in an environment in which their own particular mythology doesn’t drown out everything else and they, themselves, can’t lord it over everyone else. Sounds a lot like identity politics to me… the ‘Cultural Marxists’ would be so proud! Wimp snowflakes! Yet another lie from Mikey’s detractors: “Mikey Weinstein and his disdain for Christian service members” considering 96% of his 45K+ clients are Christians (as they define themselves; not as ISIS-like Christofascists choose to define them) it’s evident this screed is less concerned with rational discussion of the proper place of religion in the military (in the chapel only, per SCOTUS) than with the demonization of those who’d prevent them from controlling the nation & its military and with whipping up the morale of those rightly suffering from crises of inadequacy. It’s evident from the comments that the readers can’t address the issues as they only indulge in ad hominem attacks on Mikey… from a safe distance, naturally. Such sterling examples of why America has no credibility in the world’s politics despite being the biggest bully on the block.

    1. Fascinating to watch someone with the shits spew in public. Mikey does not have 45K clients, he calls everyone who clicks on the follow button a client. Mikey bills himself as if everything he does is acting as an attorney. Money scam.

Since you have some kind of reading disability, I am Atheist and Mikey is a Jew lawyer. Some Stereotypes exist for a reason…he is the a prime example. 96% of his followers have never been independently polled to know wtf their beliefs are.

Most of them are just gullible.

      1. 2/17 Air Cav

Marshalldoc had a bowel problem several years ago. Were you aware of that Dave or did you back into it with that shits reference?

        1. Anal fissures have a distinctive smell. I could smell his ass coming.

          1. 2/17 Air Cav

That explains it. Funny how w/o even reading a word of his diatribe, one can eyeball the mass of words and guess what’s coming. From my having read some of his inane comments posted elsewhere, it is clear to me Marshalldoc is the smartest person Marshalldoc knows.

In at least one of his “charity’s” IRS 990s, Whinestein claims to work an average of 100+ hours a week for said “charity” – if I recall correctly, 105 was the actual number. And I’m pretty sure he’s claimed that on most if not all of the 990s his “charity” has submitted.

Do the math, if you can without help. That works out to around 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. Allowing 2 hrs for meals and personal hygiene and 7 hrs for sleep daily, that means he’s claiming he’s working for his “charity” essentially every waking hour, 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year.

If you buy that, well, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

I’m not against religious freedom by any means. But I do in fact detest disingenuous money-grubbing charlatans who attack one religion to the virtual exclusion of all others while claiming they’re protecting “religious freedom”. And I’m particularly disgusted when their conduct appears to be little more than an excuse to line their own pockets with $250k or more annually obtained from fools too lazy to check facts and gullible enough to believe claims that appear to be blatant bullsh!t.

FWIW: if memory serves that $250k+ number for Whinestein’s annual compensation also comes from his “charity’s” 990s. And if I recall correctly, it does NOT include reimbursement for “expenses” – though I could be mistaken about the last.

      1. 2/17 Air Cav

This is dated FY ended Dec 2013. I hope Mikey makes more than the $299,634.00 he raked in that FY. God knows he deserves it.

If your solution to not liking someone’s religion is tyranny, you are the problem.

      Period.

Speaking of periods…how many years has your lasted now?

  15. NHSparky

Mikey is offended by whatever he can get to line his pockets.

Otherwise, logic defies how someone can get so butthurt over something in which they don’t even believe. Was he ever denied a promotion for not being a hard core bible thumper, or failing to proselytize fervently enough at morning muster?

Yeah Mikey, good luck proving that.

Problem is, Big (insert service here) has become so nutless and PC they’ve cowed to him just enough to provide him with a very good living at the cost of the members of the Our Screeching Lady of Perpetual Outrage church. Seriously, who on AD or who has served within the last, say, 30 years has had a negative encounter with the church, Chaplains, etc? And if you have, what percentage of that can be placed directly upon said person being a whiny little bitch?

    YMMV.

    1. rgr769

In my 18 year affiliation with the US military I never saw or experienced any effort by the powers that be to endorse or favor any religion. Hell, they even let people put “no preference” on our dog tags. I guess now they will let people serving put “no gender preference” on their dog tags.

      1. 2/17 Air Cav

In my service experience, God and Jesus came up daily. I myself frequently could be heard invoking their holy names…

        1. Hondo

Same here. I learned Jesus’s middle initial and God’s surname. (smile)
