Our first story this morning comes from Corpus Christi where Dan Caballero was cleared of all charges for the night a few weeks ago when he shot dead 29-year old Dustin Tate when Tate tried to burglarize Mr. Caballero’s home;
It was Dec. 2 when Tate was shot during an attempted burglary at the home of Caballero on Greenbriar and St. Andrews in Country Club Estates. Caballero confronted Tate inside of his home.
“To put aside any rumors or hearsay that he was shot outside the house while being chased down, that’s not correct. What happened was he was shot in Mr. Caballero’s bedroom by Mr. Caballero’s own personal gun, which was a registered gun to him.”
Tate had an extensive criminal history dating back to 2005, including a burglary conviction in 2011.
The second story was sent to us by Chief Tango and occurred in Oklahoma where a man and his wife were attacked by a couple of thug-like creatures;
A family member who did not want to be identified said her cousin answered a knock on the front door. When she opened it, the family member said the men forced their way inside.
Investigators aid the assailants were armed, and they beat the woman’s husband and a male roommate.
Officials said one of the victims was able to grab a gun, and a gun fight ensued.
The roommate was hit in the shoulder, and his arm was broken in the struggle. The husband suffered gunshot wounds to the hip and the leg.
Police said they believe at least two of the criminals were also hit during the shootout.
They’ll show up if they were hit, they’ve been tagged.

Dammit, people! Always, always, always be on guard when someone is knocking at the door and you aren’t expecting anyone!! Plus; get to the range, there should have been 2 DMFs in that second story.
Excuse me; first story
Nope, not enough caffiene, yet. 2nd story.
Put a peephole in the door. And bring the gun when you answer it.
@4: Yep! Or, in your case, the attitude adjuster.
Even during the day I answer the door with my foot wedged against it if I can tell they are innocent looking. At night always…I also have my weapon on my unseen hand.
