Today’s Zaman reports that Turkish authorities have arrested 6 al Qaeda terrorists who were plotting to poison the water at a joint airbase in Turkey last night;
[Adana Governor Hüseyin Avni] Co? stated that they had been investigating the six for suspected membership in an al-Qaeda cell based in Adana, which police say identified itself as the “Serdar G.” group. The group allegedly began discussing an attack on the base in 2010, singling out the base on account of its use as a host for the formerly extensive joint exercises between the Turkish and Israeli air forces. Co? now says the group’s plan to attack became more urgent, stating that the attack was to be “revenge” for the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden ….
