Iranian Student Activist Shot to Death in Texas
A Texas medical student well-known in her community as an Iranian activist was mysteriously shot and killed in her car, just yards from her home.
Gelareh Bagherzadeh, 30, was driving through her Houston townhouse complex around midnight on Monday when she was shot dead through her car window.
“When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had run into a garage door at that location with the engine running and tires spinning on the pavement. Ms. Bagherzadeh was found slumped over in the driver’s seat,” the Houston Police Department said in a statement.
Authorities said nothing appeared to have been stolen from her car. Her cell phone and purse were found inside.
I’ll be tracking this as best I can.
This is Houston. It could have been a gang initiation or a case of mistaken identity. Happens here all the time.

As sad as it would be… I rather believe it was random.
#2: I’m not discounting the possibility of a kill team, but this is Houston if you know what I mean. A CHL is almost required down here.
It is just sad that a young woman’s life was cut short no matter the reason.
I’m not trying to be disrespectful or snarkie, but what kind of activist are we talking about? Prodemocracy or other? Could it have been an Honor killing?

The article said she was “pro-democracy” and had protested for women’s rights for Iranian women.
That said, it could also be some banger who was going to rob her, and lost his nerve when he pulled the trigger.

Politically related target ‘assassinations’ have happened before in the U.S. I believe, a Chinese dissident was killed sometime in the 80’s or maybe 90’s as I vaguely recall.
This one is odd, why would it be random if it’s just this one lady, with no apparent robbery motive?
I remember a Russian defector that was injected with radioactive isotopes. I suppose this is probably, “revenge” for when the CIA used typical islamist tactics to kill one of their Nuke scientists.
I read that the ex boyfriend was on the phone with the victim when she was shot. Common give me a break. Does he think that he is the only person in the world who has seen dial M for Murder? Follow the money.
Sounds like an execution to me. Prime suspects would be the Quds Force, Hezbollah, or family members.
