One of my former workmates sent us a link from the UK’s Daily Mail about a 16-year-old Nusra Front (al Qaeda) suicide bomber as his older jihadist buddies send him off to die in an explosive-laden BMP armored vehicle;
Looking at the scenery around him, the militant appears to realise he is just moments from death and bursts into tears, sobbing as his fellow militants do their best to reassure him and insist he carry out the attack.
The clip then cuts to Tayyar driving off into the distance and blowing himself up, causing a huge mushroom cloud to rise high in the air.
This version has the explosion at about 1:47 in this video which is said to be taken from a jihadist drone;
He really should have pushed the button while his buddies were hugging him and sending him on his way.
That’s a great recruiting video, though, ain’t it?

How many people did he kill? How many were left writing in agony as they bled out? How many were not given the chance to say goodbye as he did?

This is a great illustration of how jihadi groups recruit these kids. We saw it a lot in Iraq. It is not dissimilar to how pedophiles prey on children.
When the fighters are brought in through the training camp system, the trainers are on the lookout for a certain profile vulnerable kid for “special missions” , aka martyrdom operations.
They are carefully groomed, and are often drugged. They get special treatment and are made to feel obligated to do theme mission by the end. Of course, they are told that they will be martyrs, but they are also given a big send off. Most of them don’t really understand what is happening until it is too late to back out.
We found VBIED bombers chained to steering wheels, and had intercepts that some kids were ‘unmwitting’: they thought they were doing a recon of a checkpoint to check our strength and reactions but we’re actually driving a remotely detonated VBIED.
We were told that the jihadis nearly always have a remote detonator rigged to VBIEDS in case their splodeydope gets cold feet, most often using cell phones.
Not to mention the money that is promised to their families, or the threats against them should the lucky jihadi fail.
“Braver” ones are starting to desert IS. Its going to get even more interesting…

A BMP is a pretty decent armored vehicle. And you’re just going to blow it up? Really? Truck bomb, I get. Tanker truck, I get. But you have a functional armored vehicle. Over time, couldn’t commit a heck of a lot more mayhem with that rather than just driving it somewhere and blowing up?
