Stolen valor for mujahadeen revisited

Last week, I wrote Stolen valor for mujahadeen based on a CNN article about a Walid Shoebat, a converted terrorist who CNN charged with being a fraud and a liar. At the time i wrote;

Of course, there’s one of two things at work here; either CNN is trying to discredit Shoebat because he’s been a powerful voice against jihadists over the past ten years, or Shoebat is an opportunist profiting from American fears.

It turns out my first scenario seems correct, according to Jerry McGlothlin;

  1. And what else is new about Crappy Negative News? Business as usual, as I see it.

    I think I called this one. Like I said before you’d have to have brass ones to keep speaking out after getting a fatwa calling for your death. If this were europe, he’d probably be dead already.

  3. I like the line:
    “Don’t confuse me with the facts. My mind is made up.”

    I heard it first as “Never let the facts stand in the way of the story.”. And that application was applied to the liberal/progressives as well.
