We start off this morning with an update to yesterday’s story about Timoteo Hernandez who shot two criminals that forced their way into his home in Dekalb County, Georgia. One of the criminals was dead right there, and it was reported yesterday that the other had escaped. Now, it’s reported that the other fellow died from his wounds, too. He was DOT (dead over there) at the hospital.
In Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Eddie Joe Kimblin tried to break into someone’s home. The homeowner confronted him and Kimblin attacked the resident who shot him in the ear. He’s in custody now with non-life threatening injuries. There is a nice mugshot of him with his bandaged ear at the link.
In Corpus Christi, Texas, Mr and Mrs Medina came home and were confronted in their driveway by a fellow demanding their money, so 69-year-old disabled veteran Mr Medina shot the crook. Twice. Once in the chest and again in the back for good measure. The thief was arrested when he got through at the hospital.
In Camden, Alabama, Terry Hunt tried to abscond with someone else’s all-terrain-vehicle. The owner decided to put his foot down and shot Mr Hunt who continued with his theft all the way home. However, the police scooped Hunt up the hospital and returned the vehicle to the owner.

“They” don’t seem to realize that many of “Us” are armed and intend to keep safe what is ours, whether it be our life, our livelihood, our goods, or our friends and family.
I hope that Eddie Joe Kimblin has perfect vision, because I just don’t see a pair of prescription Ray -Ban sunglasses in his future. Is it just me, or does he have a more than passing resemblance to Earl Hickey (My Name Is Earl)?
If they antigun nuts get their way..we won’t have to worry about these incidents anymore and we all will live somewhere over the rainbow.

DRT- Dead Right There
DOT- Dead Over There
Add; DDOT- Delayed Dead Over There.
SART – Slowly Assuming Room Temperature
Alternatively, DART: Delayed Assumption of Room Temperature.
In all cases, my personal favorite descriptive phrase – e.g., “Taking the eternal dirtnap” – is apropos.
