Saturday morning feel good stories

In San Diego, California, a shoplifter at 7-11 pulled a gun on the owner and two employees when he was confronted. The three followed him outside and dog piled him. A passer-by heard the three yelling about the gun, so he reached into the dogpile and pulled out the gun and they were able to hold 20-year-old Branden Garcia until the police hauled him away.

In Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a police officer chased after Tremaine Williams when he interrupted a burglary. The officer got separated from his partner when he finally caught up to Williams. They scuffled and the officer lost control of his baton and Williams began beating him mercilessly. That’s when a citizen witnessed the events and approached with his gun drawn and ordered Williams to stop, saving the police officer from a more severe beating. Williams and his brother are both in jail.

The officer that had his “baton” taken from him and was saved by an armed citizen……too bad a double tap wasn’t used thus preventing a crime wave in the future by this scumbag.

Not too many years ago we called a “baton” by its less than currently PC name, night stick! When I hear “baton” I think of a drum major leading a marching band during half time at a football game.

BTW – good morning everyone. I’m sure a lot of you are affected by this storm…..the forecast has recently changed for my area in central Long Island, now calling for up to 24″!

I’ve got plenty of food, beer, wine, some Four Roses Bourbon and a “few” decent cigars.

      I love it!!

Ha! You’re right – forgot that one – call it anything but a freaking baton!

In OKC followup story, note that there is no mention of the armed witness. Leftist pig behavior: http://www.news9.com/story/28991878/okc-officer-injured-while-pursuing-burglary-suspect-released-from-hospital

They may have been referring to an ASP type of telescoping baton.

It’s still a nightstick to me. I don’t do PC. (Is there a song in there?)

Snow? You think you got snow? Lemme tell you about snow…. it was 11PM on the Eve of The Big Blizzard of 2011. I had just finished shoveling the front steps and the sidewalk. I checked the weather radar, shrugged and went to bed. When I woke the next morning, 4 and 1/2 feet of snow had drifted against my front door, clogged my front porch and buried my front steps. I have pictures.
Fortunately, there was a place to put it, in my front yard. I found my car three days later. It was still where I left it, buried in a snowdrift.

I’m not sure it’s a matter of PC, rather it’s possibly just a matter of package labeling. When time passes and the current generation hasn’t seen it labeled as a nightstick per se but rather a baton they don’t see it from the perspective of the previous generation. Also if you call everything a nightstick, it creates an ambiguity when a consumer is looking for a telescoping baton, tonfa, kubotan or a standard nightstick etc.

The current generation aren’t familiar with tire irons either.

I can’t remember the last time I even saw a mechanic use a tire iron on a tire.

        Re: your 4 1/2′ of snow…..

What can I say, I’m a lawn-guy-lander. We talk and think funny. 🙂
